I don’t think Nina gets enough praise for playing sooo many roles in TVD! Her acting is INCREDIBLE. The scenes where the audience was supposed to not know if Elena or Katherine was on the screen, but Nina’s acting was soo good that you could instantly tell
Omg I always say that. Poor girl had so many lines. And she made each character different. I hated Elena so much but I always loved the way Nina portrayed her she did phenomenal! And she seems so fun and quirky and genuine in real life
I appreciate Nina’s response to the discussion of her beauty. This is in no way to put her down, she’s gorgeous. But she’s right, she’s being styled and dressed by professionals, posed in photoshopped images, and presented to young viewers as “look at this beautiful woman in this show/ movie”. We’re not taught to see beauty as this inherent, Creator-given human quality. Capitalism has made beauty something you buy from too many businesses to count because you’re ashamed that you don’t look like the photoshopped lady in the magazine. It takes conscious change to go from “Nina Dobrev is so hot, I should just give up” to “Wow, Nina has such a warm smile, I want to hear about what brings her joy.”
Adding to that, I HATE how there's a trend out there right now that's constantly trying to prove that EVERY celeb out there has gotten some surgery simply because they all look different (obviously because of aging as Nina shared). And yes in some cases it's quite obvious that certain celebs have done something, but it's mostly alot of celebs who have literally just aged and nothing else. And it just frustrates me so much when I see that.

This is so sweet! I think it's great to hear actors/actresses' opinions on how acting has shaped their lives and in Nina's case also not having any connections to the industry beforehand. I'm sure there was more she could've talked about in terms of how (especially) actresses get treated in Hollywood but that surely is a very sensitive subject. I loved your questions for her. It's so refreshing to hear women talk more about their experiences, deep conversations about love, about seeking healthy relationships and all that. And about the comments that Nina sometimes gets on her instagram, I remember seeing that when I looked her up and was shocked that people write such vile things in the first place. I have the feeling that women get somehow punished for aging or looking different to how we look in our teenage years compared to 30. It's like you're damned if you do cosmetic procedures but also damned if you don't do it. It seems like you can't win.

there is a phrase "knock on wood" in american english, but i've never seen americans doing that, the only other celeb i saw doing that was sebastian stan, and he is romanian 😭
Hello! American here. “Knock on wood” is an extremely commonly-used idiom people say to ward off jinxes or bad luck. I will say I can only really speak for Midwestern U.S. folks, since I grew up in Kansas and my parents were brought up in other Midwestern states. I’ve also lived in Alaska, South Carolina, & Illinois. I noticed it’s not as commonly-used outside of the Midwest. 😊
So glad I found this podcast and this channel. A pleasure for me to watch you all. The Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl and You are one of my favourites series ever, thank you for being a part of my life in a way or another. I’m watching you from Romania 🥹

Loved this episode except for the question " do you think everyone wanted to be around you because your pretty? " . That was an awkward question to ask
I think the celebs should just ignore the haters on Instagram. Its like the best way to get rid of a bully is to just ignore them, Anybody notice Nina Dobrev and Victoria Justice look quite similar. Both gorgeous, talented women.
That is a really good idea Nina :) about your Mom... I loved your show back in the day .... I only watched the first season.... but you were so addicting ... Your energy is unreal !! ❤
OMG Nina, that's Joe from YOU! Ruuuunnnnn girl! No but serious note how good is their chemistry??!!.. I want that show! I don't know what it is but I want it. I love Nina! This was a great interview.
Nina, you could possibly have a connective tissue disease called Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, it causes "double jointedness" called hypermobility, and easy dislocations! Part of the diagnostic test includes asking if you've ever been able to do the splits now or as a child, showing off your cool joint tricks, stuff like that. That also extends to more than joints, but also skin tissue, blood vessel fragility, especially in the heart. Might be worth investigating with a doctor it could put your shoulder dislocations and flexibility as a teen in perspective, preventing against future issues with your heart as you age (which can be very common.) :)
The heart is more an issue with the vascular type and maybe other types. Though we do need a check up every 3 years and as we age we can evolve problems with the heart or blood vessels, hEDS is actually very different from like vascular eds or other types
I just loved everything about this podcast. I have always followed Nina ever since I can remember using Instagram and love everything she posts. She is so real about everything. Just love her journey and how far she has come. It was truly amazing. I guess I will start watching these podcasts now😅..this was my first one. I just saw Nina and dove into it❤️✨
I rly love this girl. I have nothing to do with all the actors and stars on this planet.. i mean i dont know anything about them xD but Nina is the only one who stays in my mind... as if i were connected to her. I dont know why 🤔 Wish you all the best for the future.. and doesnt matter what people say, you are beautiful ❤
It was kind of wild that she voluntarily lied about the plastic surgery considering it does not matter one bit in the grand scheme of things. She is, and has always been, crazy beautiful. And compared to most people and conventional standards? She may as well be a goddess. She also discussed aging for a while without mentioning she was rumored, and photographed, to be a chain smoker for many years. It just felt ironic to leave that out but then discuss food sensitivities in relation to diet & exercise. Even if it doesn't present well with media training, I would've just said 'Uh hell yeah I aged, I smoked for years.' At least it would have been slightly honest. At this point, I think they're pressured by management to get more mature roles/some contractual thing because all actors & actresses seem to go to great lengths to keep it low-key (the plastic surgery, not the smoking). Regardless, I hope she gets the recognition she deserves as an actress beyond TVD because she has major chops. Her embodying Katherine, down to the tiniest details was impressive and her baby scene always makes me cry. She even did well with comedy in Love Hard & deserves all of her success.
girl, she hasn't had plastic surgery her face structure is exactly the same. The same thing happened to my eye lids I had such hooded eyes when i was in my 20. Now in my 30s my eyes are super hollow and I have a huge eye lid space for make up. I sometimes wonder where was that space hiding before, but the difference is so drastic. It's due to losing weight and aging and I find it ridiculous when people say she had blatheroplasty or whatever it is called.

So glad I found this podcast and this channel. A pleasure for me to watch you all. The Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl and You are one of my favourites series ever, thank you for being a part of my life in a way or another. I’m watching you from Romania 🥹
The book report thing is a typical bulgarian parents thing :D love it
As always, I enjoy watching the video recordings of this podcast. The atmosphere is always so inviting! I first saw Nina on Degrassi, and now I want to see Vampire Diaries (probably the only one who hasn’t seen it 😩).
Loved this episode except for the question " do you think everyone wanted to be around you because your pretty? " . That was an awkward question to ask
that's sounds envy for me...
agree
YES!!!! So out of pocket lmfao
That was not the question. Nina said that she wasn't very popular at some time and the host noticed that pretty people usually are popular. That's it.
I still can not forget her acting in the perks. It was so good. I don't know how many times I repeated that phone call scene.
Great interview ! I’m glad Nina has been getting into more films recently ❤
Loved this interview
I think the celebs should just ignore the haters on Instagram. Its like the best way to get rid of a bully is to just ignore them,
Anybody notice Nina Dobrev and Victoria Justice look quite similar. Both gorgeous, talented women.
Nina is so talented actress ❤ Her Elena, Katherine and Amara was incredible #teamKatherine 😂
That is a really good idea Nina :) about your Mom... I loved your show back in the day .... I only watched the first season.... but you were so addicting ... Your energy is unreal !! ❤
Nina is just so damn cool. She's a great actress and super funny. She just overall really has it going on.
I wish you 3 would've been my middle school besties 😭
Is it too late?
Right
OMG Nina, that's Joe from YOU! Ruuuunnnnn girl! No but serious note how good is their chemistry??!!.. I want that show! I don't know what it is but I want it. I love Nina! This was a great interview.
I really love nina, she has this kind of an incredible impact on people
Nina, you could possibly have a connective tissue disease called Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, it causes "double jointedness" called hypermobility, and easy dislocations!
Though we do need a check up every 3 years and as we age we can evolve problems with the heart or blood vessels, hEDS is actually very different from like vascular eds or other types
omggg a duo we never thought we needed
I just loved everything about this podcast. I have always followed Nina ever since I can remember using Instagram and love everything she posts. She is so real about everything. Just love her journey and how far she has come. It was truly amazing. I guess I will start watching these podcasts now😅..this was my first one. I just saw Nina and dove into it❤️✨
Great interview! Thanks ❤
If I was Nina I’d just be channeling Katherine all day every day larping
I would be traumatized if I was a celebrity. All The public scrutiny would destroy myself confidence. Love you, Nina!
How do you stay so young , Penn Badgley ?!? I just started watching gossip girl again, and it’s just crazy how you didn’t change 😂
Vampire
Amazing interview. You guys are all amazing! I wish the best for Sophie! Send my love to Nina

You know what… I like her! She seems very kind and lovely!
44:49 bro this is the best😂
I rly love this girl. I have nothing to do with all the actors and stars on this planet.. i mean i dont know anything about them xD but Nina is the only one who stays in my mind... as if i were connected to her. I dont know why 🤔
Wish you all the best for the future.. and doesnt matter what people say, you are beautiful ❤
Nina has such a beautiful soul fr
@@soonsims That change doesn't happen over the span of only 1-2 years tho, look at her pictures from 2015 and then 2017 there's a significant change to her eyelids
she has clearly had surgery on her eyelids@@soonsims
Agreed that was and is so disappointing
@@soonsimsyes she diddddd and that’s fine
