THIS GUY WANTS TO SHOOT PARROTS!
TODAY during free fly this guy came up to me and we had a chat. We were talking about the wild parrots of Pasadena. Then he told me he wants to shoot them because there's so many and they need a predator! I was shocked! It's illegal to shoot on parrots or even to catch wild parrots.
I don't think he was joking, he brought it up and mention it twice. I think he has shot on parrots before. Because what your heart is full of, that's what your mouth will speak over. So sad. He seams nice, but I never know who those people are that I meet in this park during free fly!

Vultures are scavenging birds, they don't go after live prey.
Littleladylucifer where i live vultures attack live prey and they attack parrots and other birds. But ive only seen them attack parrots and that when the birds are injured

Carolin von Petzholdt it's probably not illegal to shoot down parrots in certain areas. Plus if this guy wants to you can't stop him from doing it. Just like no one can stop you from making stupid decisions with hope like letting him fly around when you know there's a ton of dogs off leashes standing around you watching your bird.

So many people don't know what they are taking about concerning parrots. Hawks and eagles will attack parrots if behaving territorial. Blue jays with young babies will also attack smaller parrots. I know because one swooped under my covered patio and tried to get my green cheek conure.

Gone To the Wild Ones Hi, Zippy had yellow cheeks. I recently learned all color variations are mutations of the green conures. Basically all are called green cheeks. Zippy was a true social butterfly. She had to greet everyone at the door. Especially someone she hadn't met before. I picked her out when she was a baby because she did not run to the back of the cage like her siblings. Absolutely fearless of people. Everyone loved her.
Gone To the Wild Ones Your baby will love being outside. I always keep a cage on the patio for sunshine (vitamin D)which they need for healthier feathers and general well being. Too many hawks and eagles where I live 🙁to free fly.

What a sausage that dog was! I think Frank meant well because he probably doesn't know anything about the parrots. He seems like a very nice guy! You can see his dog is very very loved! Sometimes you should try to inform people about the parrots! It would be a nice little lesson for them. 😄
I heard him say that he shoots them.squirts them with a water hose when they get in his house. They don’t have nails, it can hurt a bit but they aren’t as sharp like birds of prey where you need a glove. So maybe a small pitch when hope flys to her arm but other than that I don’t think it hurts.

Every time someone asks me if I clip my birds wings I say, no it takes their freedom away. How would you feel with clipped arms?

Well clipping wings is just clipping the feathers witch doesn't do harm. Every spring birds molt and grow in new ones. But some people, and pet stores continuously keep clipping their wings witch they can't fly with out their primary wing feathers, witch takes away their freedom away. It can also make them board to where they will pluck out feathers and harm themselves that way. So people who do it for wrong proposes should get arms cut off to feel how birds feel, if people do it to train their birds to like them, that's a different store. Let your birds fly, it was meant to be.

Lmao this is bullshit. It would be as if you were cutting arms, except it doesn't hurt, they grow back fast, protects you from getting in danger, and allows you to actually be MORE free because now you can go wherever safer and more controlled. Nice try with the "clipped wings are inhumane!!" Card.

Macaws aren't actually the biggest parrots in the world, the Kakapo, otherwise known as the owl parrot because of their forward facing eyes is actually the largest parrot in existence, but unlike their cousins, Kakapos cannot fly. It is also illegal to own a Kakapo as a pet, because they are critically endangered, macaws however are the largest ones able to fly.
And Vultures are scavenging birds, they don't actively hunt live prey. If they're going to go after any parrot... said parrot would have to already be dead, their diets consist of carrion.

At this point I think all this is staged. It's like every single day hope is in some danger or she gets pissed at someone. Or she's doing this on porpoise and annoying people. Hey got the frog story wrong. I learned about it in Biology in school. There was an animal in Australia that had taken over, it was eating everything! There was a frog (I think either from South America or North) and it was poisonous. It had a natural predator where it was from, but when they brought it to Australia to kill off the other animal that was overpopulating, the frog took over. There are now way more frogs there because in Australia there are no natural predators for the frog. I see where he was going, but he’s wrong. California has natural predators for the wild Amazon’s, if they didn’t there would be laws against owning them in that state. Like where I live Florida, there are laws down in Miami about certain birds being owned because of the whole taking over situation. I believe California has them protected because of the whole extinction issue. This guy knows some facts, but doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

Clipping a birds wing dosent make them sick. Its completely painless, just like trimming hair. It keeps indoor birds safe from ceiling fans, windows, and escaping. Its a lot safer than having wings not trimmed.
Not true. It can actually interfere with their balance making them more accident prone, also it is extremely detrimental to the parrot's wellbeing which can lead them to pluck (self mutilate). If people don't want an animal that flies they shouldn't get a bird, simple. There are many other pet options eg goldfish, cat, dog.

Greedy heartless people would shoot anything that got a life . These innocent creatures needs to be protected . There were 100s of parrots,and all kinds of exotic birds were in our family estate and they used to come every morning and evening on feeding times and it’s like the most wonderful things on earth . I really miss those times , hoping to do that again someday .
