- I built bunk beds for my kids! This is a rapid view of a long project, but hopefully it inspires you to go out and dream up something fun! These DIY bunk beds are so loved by my kids, and I'm so glad that I tackled something that was really intimidating.
Just remember to make the structure really strong and attach it properly to studs - then you're good to go! I don't have bunk bed build plans yet, but hopefully I'll have some soon!

This is the kind of bed I know everyone would have loved to have as a kid, you’re making dreams come true! Looking forward to seeing the progress
As a kid!?? I’m 35 and I want this today.
I'm 46 and this is AWESOME!!!👍👍👍
I’m 80 and I want the bottom bunk. Never was this lucky growing up. Great parent’s. 👍🥰
Even as an adult, this project makes me so excited!!! Thank you so much for the encouragement, I hope my guests enjoy it as well!
Love this bunk bed! Can’t wait to see it finished!
That means so much! Thank you!! My kids are so ready for it to be done too haha
omg this is so cute!! they’re so lucky to have you:)
You can't beat built-in anything just looks natural. Good job.
I really recommend guardrails if you haven’t factored that in. I recent saw a boy fell of a bunk bed that had to be hospitalized.
Most loft and bunk bends need railings.
@@Kt-cn2rq all beds like this need railings! yes many kids get injured, die, become disabled from falls
**fell of a bunk bed??? I don't understand.... are you trying to say " A little boy fell **off** of a bunk bed"??? So confused..... 🤔
. are you dumb lmao
@@kookycoolauntkaryn5884 And it seems like you don’t follow your mantra. “Life is too short to care about childish things” huh? why would you turn a frankly TINY grammar mistake into something bigger than it initially was? You seem like the childish one here.
Awesome but I wouldn't go this far for kids, bc they grow fast! Those kids better realize how lucky they are and be thankful to their parents!
Would be a great idea for playrooms at a daycare. It would ALWAYS be in use. Omg you're so awesome!!! 😍😍 you did such an amazing job with all the perfect/clean cuts! I wish you were in Houston, id pay you to make a queen size version for me! 😍🤩😍🤩😍
What are you talking about! I’d keep this bed for awhile until my own kids could use it! I’m not eating that much hard work!
Ur gift is so amazing! Ur hands on experience really blows my mind
Years ago got logs cut up at a local sawmill For my son's bunkbed Drilled holes for real branches added artificial leaves.the whole thing looked like a tree fort, bottom was his video game setup that looked like an army tent We put glow in the dark lightning bugs in vintage lanterns, painted skies and owls in trees ,etc.It was so heavy, Ended up giving it to friends and they ended up giving it to friends and it is still going strong. Which is quite amazing considering I live in Florida had no idea what I was doing and you that was doing and used logs that I found.
That sounds SO COOL! I love that so many kids are getting to enjoy it!
❤😊
that looks amazing!
Great job, I love it so much!
I appreciate that so much! Thank you!!
I'm surprised you didn't convert under the bed to storage. I love watching your stuff.
Hi! I have two really big drawers underneath, but didn't convert the entire space to storage, because it would be hard to access. 😊😊
Very nice job! 😊
First and foremost this is beautiful and will be amazing when it is done. But also please let me thank you for showing your mistakes and struggles too! I feel less intimidated to try a project because I am not perfect when someone like you who does such amazing work shows some of the issues along the way (like needing to change the paint color). Thank you!!
There are ALWAYS mistakes and problems in a project! I think hiding them hides a big part of the story, and feels unrelatable. So I share it all! Glad that you're here and that you enjoy all the details! ❤
The cabinets look a little too much like a kitchen in their bedroom but awesome job to do all that yourself.
I totally agree, I think she could have put a shelf rather where the cupboards are. By I think because it's all flat planks of wood, it gives it that kitchen vibe
That what I think when I see That kitchen cabinets ...
Don't forget ventilation holes in the bottom bunk or esle the mattress might grow moldy!
Thank you so much for calling this out! I’ve had a bunch of people mention it, which I’m so grateful for… I wouldn’t have had that on my radar otherwise!🙌
@Ryan Kisnics people sweat, kids have accidents, etc. There are other reasons besides a damp house that you need ventilation around your bed.
@@ericay3225 ..holes mean that dirt, toys, etc would get stuck down there & since she framed it all in, there would be no way to clean it. All that would end up in a pile under this bunk bed with no way to clean it. People sweating or dampness doesn't need holes. My three sisters & I had bunk beds for years throughout our whole childhood. We never had holes in any of the bunk bed sets that we had. It was completely fine.i would say a railing for the top bunk would be a must tho.
@@bridgetkelly2 well. I'm glad you haven't had a problem. I was talking from my own experience of having to throw a moldy mattress away, due to lack of ventilation. Interesting you said your bunk beds never had ventilation, I had a loft bed as a child and it had slats with gaps just like every other bed I've had. 🤷♀️
Cool work… liked all your photo’s. Can definitely see your page growing fast 👍👍✅✅
thank you so much!
What a fun bed for kids 🙂
Thank you! I hope they love it!!
AWESOME WORK ❤️💯
Omg!!! So cool!!
Mom of every kids dreams! You have a beautiful imagination.
Ah thank you! I really want to give them a fun childhood. ❤
You're on the right path!
I noticed you have a helper, doesn’t he get any credit for doing the muscle work.
You honestly inspired me today! I needed it, thank you for your videos :)
You have no idea how much a comment like this means to me! Thank you so much for saying that!
Stunning...I'm so jealous of your skills...my efforts would look scary...
Another comment recommended guardrails to keep the kids safe. When I was 3 I rolled off a toddler bed (a low bed, but no rails on it) and broke my collarbone. Please add rails when you're done, it looks lovely so far!
I’m so sorry this happened to you! I will for sure be adding guardrails, I never want to jeopardize my kids’ safety♥️♥️ thank you!
@@champagnechaos you're so welcome! Keep up the amazing work 😁
@@NessaOfDorthonion thank you! I hope you have a great night!
Awesome job 👏🏽 👍🏼
Looks so cozy!!! ♡
You give me so many ideas Thanks for the videos!
That’s perfect!!
What a mom. Awesome. I loved my bunk bed!! Ya know like 30 years ago. Lol.
Bunk beds feel so magical to kids!!!
You are soooo talented ❤
Thank you!!! I've just learned a lot as I try new things! ❤
Oh, gee let me start on this right away. 😳 😅 Should be done by 2045. Glad you can do it!
Projects always take SO MUCH LONGER than you expect! I've definitely felt the 2045 end time before!
I absolutely love it ❤️
Great job guys!
Amazing 🤩
Amazing!!!!
Giving me outdoor kitchen vibes
Love it ❤
YES ANOTHER GIRL THAT BUILDS
Always up to something! 😊
That is cool.
Wanted to do this then realized my kids room is the size of hers bed a desk space. Internet has shown the financial differences irl.
So awesome
And here I am thinking of making just plain bunk beds lmao this is AMAZING. Absolutely love it!
Nothing wrong with plain bunk beds!!! ❤❤❤
I like this videos
Lady???...very nice skills...good work...
Nice!
Thank you so much!
Looks like it will take full-sized mattress? How is that ladder working out for you?
Yup, the bottom will be full size, top will be twin! The ladder is okay, but I’ll need to add handles for support at the top for sure!
Do you have a full tutorial?
No yet! But I’ll work on getting one together for sure!
Thank you for sharing
Thats Awesome! What tool did u use to make the arch??
Looks like she used a router attached to a small plank nailed into the plywood. Very ingenious! 😃
A router!
Exactly!
Nice work, creative design. Only one point I think a ladder with a grade of like say a slide is safer than going up and down on a straight ladder. ❤❤❤
Thank you! I considered a slanted ladder, but my kids are very used to a vertical! Definitely something to consider based on the kids that will be using it! 😊
@@champagnechaos Growth and change are the backbone of progress. A slanted ladder not only safer but you could put secret drawers under the ladder for each kid. You should instill the ability to make changes in your children be so future changes will not be hard on their thinking of a situation. Always, your choices. 😀
Ok part 2 please
ruclips.net/user/shorts4wLwJJGcPeI Here you go!
May be say we instead of I since you’re husband is helping you with these projects.
Nice
Why do you have kitchen cabinets overbunkbeds so crowded.
I wonder where you learned how to do all this stuff
Amazing
Hi! I tried and failed a lot, and then slowly started getting better! I learn new skills with every single project!
Your the best
I like your Vlogs always
Ah thank you! That's so kind! I'm glad that you find value in them.
❤👏🏾
Anyone can do something this cool when they have 3metre ceilings.. but very few do
Dam girl that looks better than most contractor that iv seen
This is the nicest comment! Thank you for making my night, and I hope you have a great weekend!!
AWESOME
Yes but show finished project.
Hi! It wasn't finished then, but it is now! Here's a shot of it! ruclips.net/user/shorts4wLwJJGcPeI
Them ladder rungs are gonna break in about 6 months.
This is the kind of bed a man would do but a mom she really did good
Nice. Almost done with my bunk bed for the girls. Built like a tank.
I bet they LOVE it! It's extra special making something for your kids! 😊
I need a house tour!!
Would love to know the tools you used!
Hi! A miter saw and a drill are probably my most used tools. I used a router and a circular saw for this build as well! I'm sure there were more - that's all I can think of at the moment!
Looks very complicated 🤪, but beautiful 😍🥰
Haha! It was definitely complicated! It may have been easier to follow a build plan, but I was winging it to get everything that I wanted in the design!
What was the reason for the blue being too blue? I’ve listened a few times and can’t pick it up.
Sorry! The blue was really close to the blue paint color in my daughter's room next door, so I ended up changing it!
At first I thought it it was a kitchen
💞
Pls can you make one for me. Me and my sister share a room and I love being high up. Plus my room’s roof is slanted alike theirs
Hey this is absolutely beautiful I’m just a little worried about the latter kids do grow fast to be absolutely honest it doesn’t look very sturdy
It’s fine
We need pt2
ruclips.net/user/shorts4wLwJJGcPeI This is more from that same room!
You can't put the ladder boards like that. They gonna brake.
I would have just gone to IKEA not gonna lie.
accident waiting to happen on ths stairs and the bamboo like base
great, just a little too fast for me to understand/follow it, to remember, mg
Sorry! I'd love to make build plans for this someday, but I haven't gotten there yet!
Niccccccce
Thank you!!
Wau👏👏👏👏
Ladder is so dangerous 😳
This is definitly pinterest worthy
That’s such a huge compliment! Thank you so much!
@@champagnechaos Np! :D
When you do these can you tell us how much you paid for materials and tools
Hi! I do try to add budget breakdowns - looks like I forgot for this one, and I can't remember now! I'm so sorry!
Hi! I do try to remember to add the cost to the end - looks like I forgot to this time, and I don't remember the cost off hand. Sorry!
Does DIY bed usually cost more than buying one?
Hi! It honestly just depends! A lot of times I like to DIY something so that I have extra function that is best done custom. But a built in bunk bed will be much sturdier than most storebought, and DIY is cheaper than hiring it out. I do buy cabinet boxes for a lot of my projects because it's not worth it to me to build them from scratch. Hope that helps! 😊
At the end what’d she say? The color is way too close to what?
I’m so sorry, I was rushing to fit it in before the video ended haha… the room next door to this one is painted a similar color, so I realized I needed more of a contrast
Where did you get the fluting?
It’s from Home Depot! Ambrosia wood large bead moulding is the description!
이정도실력을 갖추려면 어떻게 해야할까요?
Hi! Just start with small projects to learn skills, and then you'll be ready to tackle slightly harder ones! I watch lots of videos and tutorials on everything that I'm doing!
Is it easy to clean under it?
Hi! It's all trimmed out now, so there's nothing underneath to clean! Big win!
I love it great idea 💡.
Thank you so much!!
Your Welcome 👍🏽
I have subscribe 😊
@@arnessahenry2222 thank you for being here!
My living room is Adirondack blue ❤
I bet it looks amazing! It’s such a gorgeous color!
Don't like the cabinets makes it look like a kitchen. There just the wrong cabinets to use for this.
Moma is making bed 😂😂😂
Bedroom with kitchen cabinets eat n sleep at the same time
Stack or stock?
Stock cabinets! Nothing custom, just what they regularly carry.
Lol this is not diy if u wanted to apply for a handyman license ud get it 😂😂😂
amo anche io i lavori in legno in casa 🏡🥰👍
Thank you so much! I've had a lot of fun putting character into this hosue.
@@champagnechaos sì vede che lo hai fatto con tanto amore ❣️🥰👍
機器不用錢? 板子不用錢? DIY要花多少錢請明列
Hi! Sorry - I never calculated the budget on this build! If I do, I'll post it! ❤
The ladder is kinda weak looking.
Lol when her kid steps on one of the ladder steps it will break. If she got girls then they won’t break however boys, yes they will break . DIY mom to the rescue lmao . This shit stays funny
smells like privilege to me. Must be nice, must be nice ✌🏽
