I love your projects. You mentioned have an upper respiratory issue, you might consider wearing a filtering respirator/mask as you cut and especially as you sand. The particles can get into your lungs and cause permanent damage and breathing issues. Just a safety suggestion for your health. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

The best thing about this (apart from the rad kid's bed that I think we're all jealous of) is that this is a great way to spoil your kid WITHOUT spoiling them. In her adult years, Harper is going to really appreciate all the time and effort her dad put into giving her the equivalent of a really expensive store-bought bed. I love these cool kids' bunk bed vids. My dad made me a captain's bed when I was about 10 or so that I kept until I was 19 and couldn't fit into it any more. It was a beautiful piece of furniture. Passed it on to my young cousin when I couldn't use it any more and he got years out of it, too.
One thing I'm surprised you didn't put in is a night light/reading light above the bed, with a switch on the side panel. As a youngster, she'll want to use it as a night light. But as she gets older, she'll want to use it for reading (which is something that all kids should be encouraged to do as much as possible). It'll also be useful when she need to get in and out of the bed , lighting the way to the switch for the room's main light switch, or into the hall for those late night kitchen and bathroom trips.

I'm 50 years old, but this made me wish I had a dad to build me a special bed just because he loved me. 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹
This brought tears to my eyes. Let me go pull myself together.

Let's just appreciate Alex for what he is doing for his 3 kids🥺

This is exquisitely lovely, right down to the colour palette. If Karlsberg made fathers...! I'm sure you've warned her to never try to land on the bed from the balcony (as I would have done). Just a word to the wise!

You’re a magician making dreams come true, I would have died for a room like that as a kid. Literally a room fit for a princess.

I’ve always loved reading as a kid, so that little balcony nook would have been my favorite place as a kid to read.

Great project! Was thinking about the second step. It’s right next to the window. Kids play and someone can fall.

My son broke his arm really bad, almost a compound fracture, at 4 when an older kid pushed him off the top bunk bed. Trying to land on a couch nearby. His elbow went backwards pretty much. Needed surgery and hospital stay.

Amazing project, but I was thinking the same thing, especially the balcony area. If she stands up on her feet, that railing is pretty low and could add up to a pretty big fall if not supervised (like at night or nap times). Any kid would be super excited about this kind of bed, and be up in the middle of the night climbing things. But unlike older kids, the little ones don't have that understanding of danger. Maybe a plexiglass sheet to cover the open space (or even over the window by the stairs).
I know some might say it's being over cautious, but as a child I had a friend who shared a room with her younger sister - they had a bunk bed. Older sister on the top bed, younger on the bottom... but that didn't stop the younger sister from trying to climb the ladder in the middle of the night. She fell, broke her back, and became a paraplegic at the age of 3 because of it.

@@melly2479 my nephew somehow fell out of bed on the LOWER bunk bed during the night and broke their arm at 5. Not even much of a fall. Must have landed just wrong. We want to wrap them in bubble wrap sometimes, but we can't always protect them from everything. But we take precautions where we can. My sister and I were always falling down the stairs somehow. But my kids, raised from birth in a house with stairs, never fell down the stairs.

You know having a dad like you is fun. If your like my dad you'll teach her how to build and fix things, but still do it for her😊 I personally just figured he liked doing it for me because it was daddy daughter quality time. I literally would get my kids together for my dad to put something together. Like a fan on a stand😁 I'm really who can't put that together. I would tell him "daddy you know you taught me how to fix that or rewire that" he say ya..ya.. so I figured he liked doing it for me while I drink my cup of coffee. Yes...we are talking about me as a grown woman. 😊 as kids we was aloud to take things apart and try to fix them. Yet the man didn't teach me how to buy a vacuum. I had the right power but the cord was short. So do I open it up and add a longer cord. Hell no...I drove from Los Angeles to Las Vegas so my daddy could do it for me. Would it had made more sense to just fix it myself...yes..was that crazy ...yes. Did I have a great time with my dad...yes😊 was it worth it hell ya🤣 I keep telling my brother I won't my daddy back.

Isn’t it so kind for parents to do so much work for their children??! They work so hard for us. Then when we grow up we might do the same. He is spending probably so much Money & Time for his Daughter. And I’m talking about all the videos he’s made. He does so much for these videos. Congrats to Him!!

How old are you that you are jealous of a stranger building a bed? It's embarrassing how you "adults" are acting on here.. it's called idol worship and it's very dangerous. I hope you're not teaching your children how to be jealous and weird towards strangers on the Internet.
