I enjoy simplicity, and your video is by far the most easily understood. Now am ready to get started after 3 months of watching similar videos.
great job. Keep making more like this one.

Nice set up. I’d still use some poly fill or similar. The bio-balls and lava rock are used for the beneficial bacteria and won’t filter

Thanks for watching! We do put in some filter material at this point, cut to the size of the bucket and layered.

With the pump in the same tank as bait your taking a chance of blowing all the scales off the bait. I ran into this problem last year. Pump is now in its on tank with constant cycling.

I'm planning to build something like that for my drinking water. I was thinking of using a 12V solar panel to run the pump. When the sun shines, the pump works. Maybe a few hours every day will keep the water fresh? I'll be using a bucket...maybe two ?

These filters work well for filtering particles and things from the water. For drinking water, I'd be cautious about bacteria and other items that this likely won't eliminate. The solar idea is pretty cool! Hope you get it all put together. Good luck, thanks for watching.

I like your idea; I wonder if this system would work for saltwater bait fish like anchovies. I live on west coast, and we fish albacore tuna sometimes bait is hard to come by. I'll try it out this summer, we'll see what happens.

I just got a tank like that to build a bait tank for bullheads, sunfish, bluegills and other bait for flatheads. How is the maintenance and how well does it work. I'm thinking of using the same design but with a 20 gallon trash can.

It works very well as long as it's completely shaded from sun and you don't over fill with fish! Good luck and thanks for watching!

How do you clean the filter in the pump at bottom of the tank

On those pump filters, we just removed the filters and hose it off. So far that simple method has served us well! Thanks for witching.

Looks to me you should have a filter to get all the waste and slim and shit out of the water so that doesn't cloog up the bio media

Thanks for watching and the comment. Yes we did end up adding some filter material! Meant to to talk about that in the video but it slipped the mind and had not came in the mail yet!
