  • A few months ago I put a couple clusters of micro sword in my tank and the beautiful carpet is starting to take over! All I've been using is CO2, Finnex Planted+, and occasionally some liquid ferts.

    It’s great to see a “real” tank 😊 I’m not saying those lush, nicely trimmed tanks of high end aquascapers are fake, just that this is more in line with my reality. Yours is what mine has looked like at its best, maybe once 😁👍

    My Frogbit grew much better when I had a more calm surface. When it had it moving a lot, like yours, they didn’t really Floruish.

    Trimming horizontally doesn’t damage the leaves?

    Did you use a co2 system for a long period of time?

    My micro swords mine is not carpeting as tight and I find that some of the rum runners are like free-floating suggestions

      have you trimmed it? trimming promotes "tighter" growth

    I dont have a injected co2 system, but im using seachem flourish excel which is liquid co2 i think. Will that work to keep this plant growing like crazy? I also have a fluval eco l.e.d. light for the plants and a large l.e.d. i dont know how many kelvins it is but its pretty bright. And the substrate i have in my 55 gallon tank is floramax.

      @LazyAssReefer  6 лет назад +2

      Excell will not be enough and it's not cost effective in the long run. You definitely need pressurized CO2!

    How do you trim it?

  • @jaderainhans9095

    u can run a air pump bc air has co2 too

    • @SuperGankBros
      @SuperGankBros 5 лет назад +1

      No. Running an air pump with a CO2 set up will decrease the amount of CO2 in the water and will make the entire CO2 set up useless. If you don't run a CO2 system then using an air pump will typically be okay yes.

      @@SuperGankBros u can run an air pump with co2 I do it and it works fine u just don’t want it like crazy agitation, but generally if you have enough CO2 in the water column the constant source will keep it there even if your surface is agitated too much every time I see people say this I always realize they must not have much experience with actual real time CO2 system use on an aquarium lol

    • @kellygordon103
      @kellygordon103 10 месяцев назад

      @@mrgrump2534You can do it but your wasting CO² in the process. The air stone is increasing your CO² losses so you'll have to run a higher injection rate to reach the same level. I cycle my air pump on when the CO² turns off. Best of both worlds?
