More excited about the SC then the GT3?!...the SC will just be a tarted up Turbo S, limited production with a sky high valuation as it will be the 60th anniversary car...surely a Manual NA GT3 is a far more desirable car?!

@@RemoveBeforeRace canceling you’re order the GT BS then are you?!...😂...there are some rumors that the GT3T will be offered with a rear seat option, but I don’t think it will as it would cannibalise GTS and Turbo sales, you are perhaps a good example of that theory.

911 turbo let alone a turbo s is without a doubt among the top 5 dream cars for 99.99% of petrolheads.
Unmatched beast ! , that can do serious damage to super cars that are twice as expensive or even triple .
Not sure though 3.2 seconds 0-60 for the 993 turbo or even turbo s bro , maybe more towards high 3s like 3.8 or 3.9 seconds which is still crazy even today.
That's not even the best part of them. Put a little tune on them to bring them up to potential of available fuel, and pound them mercilessly. They just soak it up without complaint. And *that* is something money won't buy you from most brands.
I had a 993 turbo before my 996 tt back in 04 and yea not even close to 3.2
Yes new turbo s is fast beyond and so capable but for a true Motörhead it leaves the scintillating soul out of it also unfortunately
And I tried to love it so much to get back into one

I've always been a fan of the 911 Turbo. It may not have the flashy looks of a Ferrari or Lamborghini. But it's always been able to hold its own Against the competition if not out right embarrass them. I think Porsche saw what tuners were getting outta the 911 these last 10years and decided to give the Turbo S the power needed to compete for the crown if not keep it. Beating Lamborghini and Ferrari on a road course, and beating McLaren and it's Alien technology on the strip is something amazing. Wondering what the next generation will do to push the boundaries. Me personally I think we'll see some form of Hybrid tech makes its way on to the platform. 640 to 680hp from the Gas engine aided by 130 to 150hp from a Electric motor = over 800hp and decent fuel mileage!!! What ever Ferrari, Lamborghini, or McLaren are working on for their next generation Supercars, may not be enough to take the top spot from the Germans.

The 930 Turbo has been my favorite Porsche ever since I was a kid.
My Dad is 78 and loves the 930 to this day.
@@J1Z06 I'm only 54 but have been a 930 lover ever since it came out. I am impressed with the newer Caymen and the upcoming 2nd version of the new EV iron brake version.

You are absolutely spot on , when buying I tested McLaren and Ferrari and people were telling my to get the GT3 . Ultimately the Turbo S was the best choice. I do use it as my daily drive , it performs well on track and around town but more importantly its civil for business and pleasure outings .
What's your source on the 993 0-60 time? Haven't seen that anywhere online...
Motortrend in the USA clocked their test at 2.5 seconds for 0-60

For me the Porsche turbo story began when I watched bad boys. 996 & 997 were my good old turbo days
& btw my mention of bad boys was before I got to where RBR mentions it
992 turbo S : Good engine, good overall quality. The bad things: 1 - Without the sport suspension feels like a fat pig braking and turning 2 - steering wheel, probably the worst part of it, awful calibration in sport plus mode, too much artificially heaviness without any kind of sensitivity in the neutral position..you cannot feel the rubber in your hand like in may other cars. I feel that the 992 generation is a downgrade from the 991 in terms of steering wheel calibration, and no question the 997 is much superior in all aspects of the steering wheel. 3 - Car understeers easily, it is not a sharp turning car like an SLS AMG, a 997 GT2, a Giulia quadrifoglio..A very good thing is the throttle pedal calibration for a modern turbo car. With all the absurd laws produced by people that probably live a life of frustration and sexual abstinence for the wrong reasons, Porsche still managed to give some relatively good mechanic throttle pedal feeling of the engine and managed the lag of these new turbos relatively well. However, from 3000 to 4000 rpms there is a slight torque fluctuation when the ECU backs off boost a bit and from 4000 rpms onward, they should have made the torque delivery a bit more intense. It feels a bit numb and characterless. Overall, very good performance, but wrapped in a car that should have been calibrated for more sportier feeling instead of comfort. Particularly, suspension and steering wheel. and the recipe of the GT3 for the steering wheel is not good enough as I find the steering wheel feel of a 992 GT3 much worse than the 991.2 GT3 RS and any of the 997 line up. However, this is a bloke that does not care much about comfort and also does not care much about track times. I care about raw feelings and emotions when driving a car. For instance the chassis control of the 992 turbo S + its rear axis steering wheels is a negative aspect for me. It hinders part of the expected instantaneously mass transfer that I like to feel when driving...it is more efficient, but less fun...

Better than an A45 ride, sure it is. Bloody nasty black series, loose loads of money. The turbo S is awesome, drove one for 5 hours over a weekend. Its better than the 992 GT3 day to day and miles quicker.

Porsche is the best sports car manufacturer period, and its funny how they beat super cars without being a "supercar"
The 9-11 is what makes Porsche great..and a bit lazy as almost everything else is a rip off of this design. This is a great car and you're lucky to have one.

You can mostly blame the EEC "drive by" noise regulations for that hence the mandatory and regulated max exhaust sound for all new production cars.

I'm on my 3rd turbo s in a row now with the 992 and completely agree with this one being a huge step up from the 991 versions. Regards the new GT3 - not that bothered about the new one considering how good the turbo s is, not that it matters though as I "don't buy enough cars from my Porsche dealer" to deserve an allocation. No worries if I end up wanting one I'll just buy one of the many cars that will be available shortly after launch from one of the many customers that never intended to drive theirs, at a premium for their trouble of course.

Raz, always enjoy your history on any new review. Great insight and for me who read every car magazine in the 80's and 90's. I Used to use my dinner money to buy Car Magazine and Fast Car, you were not born then! The photography in Car Magazine was incredible. In many ways it lines up with your production and the guys are Car Perfection!
Must be hard being a Porsche convert and thinking do I really want that AMG Black, when the 992 GT3 will be better on a track, hold its value better and be a much more rounded car! I understand though you are a huge MB AMG brand ambassador. Total respect.
Thinking about your comment about a GT car combined with a 911 Turbo S - maybe Porsche should do a 992 GT2 RS Touring!
I think the 992.2 Turbo S will have the new GT3 gear leaver installed as the 991.1/991.2. I hope so! The rocker switch is ok in the Taycan but is not the right solution in a 911 in any form. Whats your thoughts? Mind your the 911 in PDK knows better than any driver what gear it should be in before you have thought about it. But, we just like that lever to be there!

I love my 991.2 TTS. I'm in the process of upgrading a few things to match the performance of the 992. Already putting down more power, next steps are the wider tires and a slightly different alignment setup to get a bit more aggressive steering. Next year it'll be upgraded shocks. Thanks for the video, good to watch.
I am not a fan of the 992's dash or the size of it, though the looks have grown on me a lot. I prefer analog dash and for that reason alone I decided not to update. The car's already massively capable and will be more so once I'm done with my tweaks and mods. To date: COBB custom tune, Kline 7670 exhaust, 100 cell cats, DSC v3 suspension controller, BMC air filter.
911 is a badass car, no matter which generarion👌🏻

Amazing that other manufacturers need a minimum of seven or eight hundred horse power to achieve the same zero to sixty times as the Turbo S.
Wait for the C8 Corvette Z06 to come out and you will have a rival. There won’t be anything under 300K that will be able to touch it just like the C8R is dominating the race track right now.

The 911 Turbo is and always has been my favorite Euro sports car of all time....ever since I was 11 years old and rode in my friends Dad’s new 1986 white 911 Turbo. Always dreamed of having one of my own. Still not there yet. One day though...

I just watched a Carwow video that was putting the Turbo S up against pretty much everything else (Huracan Performante, 720S, etc.) and this just beat everything in the quarter mile. This car is a missile. I agree the updated looks of the 992 Turbo are fantastic. The car looks even more aggressive.

Thanks for your quality review. I always say Porsche 911 Turbo is the best. I also liked that you mentioned that you don't have to fear for any electric car or even supercars. Sadly i only can afford it's front wheels otherwise i would have bought one just like you shown here, Black. To the guys that own one i say: Some guy's have all the luck.

I’m sorry to say for me and if you’re like me there is no comparison
Amg gtr for turbo platform and overall is a rigid, sensory overload from chassis, heavy steering, gearbox engagement pops and bangs, that engine and exhaust pops and bangs
The turbo s will cover grounds quicker but it’s a boring boring experience and leaves a lot to be desired if you value soul in your machine
@@iLLGT2 this is the type of answer I was looking for. I want to drive something that has soul and personality. I have owned corvettes, a hellcat, an M5, and have driven an R8 and a 570S. I do track my cars, and want something that feels like it needs to be driven, not that it drives for you.

I also have a huracan evo rwd which if you’ve seen any of the recent reviews on it is sensory overload
As far as I’m concerned I have the two best and last raw modern examples before going hybrid
I’ve had all the older stuff, the newer mclaren, Ferrari, etc
Hope you find your bliss , life is short and the car world has become obsessed over numbers and resale value

Great car, but Tesla Plaid Model S will bust 0-60 in 1.7 seconds, achieve 200 mph and seat 5 adults. Check please. Oh and it can drive you around town if you are too ill to safely "take the wheel". I love Porsche but Tesla is the future.
It's #1....9.9 at 140mph, mabye quicker. I rode in a 1997 Stock Porsche Turbo and that was quick so let that sink in with 400 horsepower, I believe

Louder than a Carrera S? Ummmm....some guys might like it "exhaust junkies" . But honestly loud exhausts novelty wears off so fast. At least for me. It's like haivng a baby that won't stop crying in the back seat....heh....fun for 10 seconds--loud "race sounding" exhausts....I think i'd go for the Caerra S instead....not sure i see the "gains" in the Turbo S 2023....in REAL WORLD driving...city steets, duburbia and HWY....over pot hotles, cracks, bumps....Most of us aren't PRO level GT car world champions....most have never drivinen on a racke track :) ONly stoplight to stoplight...heh..
