I have one. It was one of the first watches that I thoughtfully bought. I live in Mexico City and receive the signal from Fort Collins. It's a great watch
Cuanto te costó? Estoy planeando compar uno y me lo ofrecen en 6500, pero no se si sea buen trato. Me gusta el diseño y me agrada que sea radio controlled.
I love this watch! I too, recieved this watch as a gift from my wife, and it's been one of the best gifts ever. I had one problem with it. Somehow I messed up the time on it, so I tried to set it like a regular watch and that REALLY messed it up. After that I tried and tried to use my user's manual to no avail, then I tried to use the app and download the instructions, but that didn't work either. Finally I decided to look on RUclips to see what they have. WHY DIDN'T I LOOK HERE SOONER!!??!! I can almost ALWAYS find an answer there! Hopefully I've learned my lesson...HOPEFULLY
The University of RUclips has saved my bacon numerous times, lol!😂 I had the same experience when I got mine a few weeks ago. After a day and a half of fiddling around, I got mine on the straight and narrow. I absolutely love this watch. Glad you got yours sorted out!
I got mine for 500.00 even with the stainless steel band I love it when you calibrate it takes a long time to reset but once it is done you don't have to do anything else.
I find this interesting. Would like to see some Fotos after the watch has being modified. Did you notice a big difference? How much did it cost and how long did the watchmaker need to do this? Very interesting. But I am happy he did it and you can enjoy it.

$45 at a local pawn shop last week. They couldn’t get it set due to the crown not turning the hands… problem of course was it was set for a different time zone. Their ignorance was my gain.
I bought mine years ago. Could never get the atomic radio signal from Colorado to the Philadelphia suburbs. Until now. One good thing to come out of this terrible pandemic.
I heard that the government defunded the radio signal from Colorado. But wasn't sure. Glad it's up and running. (Receiving the signal was always hit-or-miss for me and only when I sat it in a window facing west overnight).
Hi Dave Very impressing and useful watch with almost all the functions, you can dream up... It's of cause no dress watch with that tool like aesthetics and the busy dail. A fine everyday timepiece, though. I'm not much into quartz, but the eco drive and the solar powered watches could convince me😉 Keep up the good work👍
Nice vid. I have had this one now 2 years and I love it in my collection. Your video seems to give yours a higher gloss then mine expecially in your band. might oil mine a little bit. Also your face seems more crisp. Again could be the lighting. Nice work on the details again.
Great review. I may have missed it in the review, but one of the nicer features of this watch, is while other Citizen Blue Angels watches have a mineral crystal, this one has an AR sapphire crystal. To me that makes it even more practical, as you can daily wear it without worrying about accidentally scratching the crystal.
The antenna at right angle to the signal source has the best chance to receive the signal. With this watch, the antenna is at right angle to the radio signal source when 9 o'clock is pointed at the signal source.
I'd be careful about buying one used. I bought one new from an actual bricks and mortar dealer and am so glad I did. It has quit working twice in the first year of ownership, luckily it was repaired both times for free under warranty, I hate to think what the service charge on a used one would have been? The warranty period is 5 years. It is a great watch when it is working. Not sure I would buy another Citizen though.
Great revue and tutorial! Your coupled with Mark Ensbey's make for a full tutorial of the watch. Thanks so much. It's a great watch. I bought it new on eBay so there were no instructions. I played yours and Mark's several times before receiving the watch. So I was well prepared. The setup is quite complex I'm guessing because the stepper motors for the different complications are independent. Mark did not cover how to sync the watch manually because Australia has no time station. Mine took only about five minutes from my home only a few miles from the NJ coast.
I love the technology that Citizen features with this watch and as an admirer of horology, I appreciate any and all types of movement. I have atomic-synched G-Shocks and find them wonderful for keeping accurate time, in fact I use them to set whatever automatic watch I choose to wear each morning. My only complaint about the World Chronograph is the overall business of the dial. But I believe a user will get used to it quickly as I had the same initial complaint with a Citizen Nighthawk and now I don't even think about it. As you so ably showed in the video, there is a bit of learning curve that needs to be tackled in order to understand all the watch's capabilities and the procedures needed to exercise them. Great, thorough review as always, Dave!
Thanks Lee. I meant to address the busy dial, but in the few days I've had it, I've gotten used to the layout and "forgot" how busy it was in the course of the review. It is busy, but the minute and hour hands are substantive enough that it gets away with it. But interestingly, in talking to family and friends, Citizen watches are considered at the top of the department store watch selection because they are so busy. A busy watch must do a lot, and if it does a lot, it must be better, or so the thinking goes. So it definitely has a market value.
HOWARD FINKELSTEIN - Yes, the lume is very frustrating on this watch. My Citizen Promaster diver, on the other hand, has the best lume of any watch I've owned.
There is a new version with LCD display. The band for this is quite small and stiff I decided to use a butterfly attachment with the band to replace the buckle. it now snaps on without bending the strap much.
There is no way this is a limited edition watch. It's been in the Citizen catalog for years and it's available everywhere. There is nothing in the Citizen documentation that mentions limited to 2,500 pieces.
Yes, you are correct. I got that info from a watch review article written shortly after the initial release, which makes me wonder if that was the initial plan. But with it's popularity, they'll sell this one for years to come, I imagine.
Fantastic watch...Ive seen the blue angels with a friend and his father (who was an engineer for Grumman and helped design jets) several times as a kid. Maybe its just the lighting or my phone but the blue looks off...too much grey...either way great strap, caseback and dial
Thanks for the comment. It's a great watch! But yes, the color is distorted in this video. I find my video setup very frustrating, because I think I've accurately captured the color, then after it's uploaded, it's way off. The watch indeed has a much richer blue dial.
Neuro I know a former guy from the blue angels. He just got out a year ago. He said that neither the navy or citizen gave the blue angel pilots a watch. However, during his time with the blue angels, they all decided to each buy one of the citizen blue angel watches, because... well, because they say ‘blue angels’ on them! The same reason why many people buy them! Awesome story. He said that now the pilots are issued a watch, but for some reason it’s not the Citizen watch. It’s a Garmin Fenix.
All it needs to be perfect is a separate time zone ability on the small 24 hour dial. An inaudible alarm is worthless and not worth sabotaging the dial. Titanium would top it off. I just ordered one, the blue grabbed me. I thought at the time that the small hours could show UTC but the manual doesn't indicate that ability.
Thanks for the video, very helpful... just got mine today! And the left buttom it's to help pilots calculate how many nautical miles, time, fuel, speed, if are planing a cross country... you have some videos that can help you on that...

King Paramore - You pull the crown to the first position and the chrono hand will move to your current time zone. Then turn the crown until the hand moves to the correct time zone, and when you push the crown back in, it will turn the hands automatically to the correct time. It's pretty cool!
Quartz is cool for eco drives, citizens, casios g shocks. Pulsars, bulova. Otherwise I go mechanical Mechanicals more like heirloom watch whereas battery not so much. At some point battery failure renders the watch useless half the time because the leakage runs the movement for all time. The rotating bezel is a flight computer. You can figure time speed and distance problems, eta, fuel burn etc, plus doe conversion between liters, gallons, miles, kilometers, etc. There are several videos on using a flight computer on RUclips. The WWV radio signal is short wave so it will bounce all over the place. Go through walls, etc, so you don't even have to point the watch west or have it outside. If you are out of range of one station you are usually in the range of another.
It's too bad that this doesn't have YHZ Halifax time zone because my g-shock rangeman picks up the tower closest to NYC and actually does set to it for my local time
@@DavesWatchLove To be fair, the SAT was probably different when you took it. Nowadays the max score is 1600 and there is no point deduction for getting wrong answers, they only award points for right answers. (No guessing penalty)
Does anyone know if you can keep 2 different times with this watch? (ie main watch says one time, 24h subdial keeps a 2nd time zone, like many GMT watches)?
Abdallah - The way this watch works is that you pull the crown and turn it to switch time zones, and the watch adjusts the time accordingly. But you can't display two time zones at once on the dial, to the best of my understanding. So think of it as keeping all time zones, but you can only select one at a time to display.

So think of it as keeping all time zones, but you can only select one at a time to display.
no,

wow this guy likes to hear himself talk.
Sigh.. The seconds hand doesn't even align with the minute markers around the 12 to 4 o'clock position.
Yep. That's one thing that's way too common on quartz watches. Which is why I love my mechanicals.
Thinking of selling my blue angels nighthawk for one of these. Eco as in economics not echo, sorry I had to.
