What I like about Baghdad is that it evokes that Classic AC map design vibes with it smaller scaled buildings and box-y architecture
As for Paris, which is admittedly super beautiful and detailed, whenever I started parkouring, I notice all these small cracks, extensions, handholds and I panic because I start feeling like some shit's about to go down

any version of parkour is massively improved by having a good level design.

The title is bait fair enough but this is pretty funny you have to admit

Wouldn't even call it bait, despite many people probably picking it up like that. I'd seriously answer yes to Mirage over anything else this series has seen in the last decade without hesitation

Oh yeh definitely I do agree with the title (Unity is fucking broken) I was mainly hoping I’d get some Unity D riders mad at me for the engagement lol

The title's valid tbh. Unity is amazing 95-99% of the time, but playing with the knowledge that a lot of moves are just RNG-based and that something like this could happen at any moment just kills the experience sometimes.
I haven't played with ACUFixes yet, so that could be enough to change my mind.

Agree but In terms of world design Unity is better. Like in Mirage the parkour platforms are the most out of place things ever like wtf. Comparatively in Unity they blend the parkour elements into the world seamlessly so never notice them.

      I genuinely couldn’t disagree more
Paris is incredibly well designed but just looks like massive walls covered in shit, just poles and random platforms sticking out of walls with not much cohesion
Whereas Mirage naturally bakes the parkour into the environment, you’re free running on top of shops or balance walking across a knocked over ladder and things to that effect
I actually think Paris is one of the most “gamey” looking worlds we’ve had
(None of this is criticism really because I’d rather have the world look a bit silly but offer a great parkour experience than it being more realistic but basic to traverse, Rogue is my main point of reference for that)

They’re too different to compare, but Unity definitely looks better graphically and the level design in important areas is far better.
As for parkour, having smaller buildings makes mirage’s parkour feel more fluid and less restrictive as you generally don’t have to scale large buildings to get where you want to go. But a lot of people like scaling tall buildings. Each game has it’s own strength and weaknesses

Unity is so overrated. I love it, but it's nowhere as good as the OGs. I still think Paris is awesome, but honestly it feels like it was made on purpose for the janky, contextual parkour system we got. Baghdad, on the other hand, could work amazingly well even with the OG or Kenway parkour systems.
By the way, modded Mirage on PC is probably on par with the Kenway games in terms of parkour. Couple that with better level design (except for Havana I guess) and it's even better.

Baghdad’s design is genuinely one of the best maps in the series for parkour, honestly it probably rivals venice in AC2 as the best map in the series for parkour

Although it's bait I kinda agree because at least Mirage is more predictable due to there not being so many contexts to do actions at + the sprint button and parkour buttons are separated entirely in Mirage unlike Unity

Mirage is better than Unity, the title is bait but it’s also true
Unity has more mechanics and is better when it works but Mirage just, you know, works and I value the stability more than the highs of Unity

Here what i think. as a 2014 Game unity is definitely did an amazing job, yes it may have some glitches but all that aside the parkour is better than majority of the AC games, and me personally i feel like Unity parkour mechs feel real than mirage but i gotta give props to mirage for having nice movement animation. BUT as a 2023 game i was expecting something more from mirage. like cmon the difference between 2014 and 2023 is nothing. in any case both games are Fire asf, but im way too excited for AC Shadow now

    • @mThund3R_

Mirage was a small project developed by a small team on the basis of Valhalla though. Unity was in dev for years and used a completely modified version of the anvil engine. With the new engine coming in Shadows, I hope that they can deliver something even better than Mirage in terms of parkour.

@@stormysoup1083 That can be an issue occasionally but a small thing lots of people don’t know is you hold the parkour button, hesitate for a second, then flick the stick and he almost always prioritises the higher object
It’s a bit weird to explain but it was also like it in Syndicate where if you hesitate, the character is much more likely to do a proper side hop with a spin from Unity

i would honestly argue mirage has more player input and consistency than unity. Unity’s parkour is a mess, it’s beyond shallow, it’s incredibly inconsistent, and the flashy animations that people go on about so much bug out like 80% of the time anyway. Unity has the least player interaction of any parkour system in the series tbh. people complain about newer AC games just being “just hold left stick forward” without realizing that’s 90% of unity’s parkour, just you occasionally change the direction of the left stick to watch fancy animation with the occasional hold parkour down to quick descend. unity is literally what people complain about with the newer games just being “hold left stick forwards” except it’s the entire stick and no other inputs for 90% of what you’re doing

@@NEXUS..... I glitch all the time in Unity, like once every 3-4 minutes while parkouring, I'm not even exaggerating. I think it happens most when I'm trying to trigger a back eject after select actions. Maybe if it works fine to you it's because you don't use back ejects that much. I dunno.
