I am a native English speaker and these rules were never explicitly explained to me, I just picked them up from exposure. I am here to understand my syllable assumptions so that I can unlearn them when speaking French. Great job on this.

Hi. Remember is a 3 syllable word ending with 'er', yet we stress on the second syllable instead of the first. Is this because, the remember is a verb?

Very helpful! I have a question about my name though... In the US people pronounce my name with a stress on the second syllabe, ClaRIce, not on the first syllable like you presented... Do names follow a different rule?
