There is no guitarist in the world - not Jimi, not David, not Eric, not Eddie, not Alex, not Stevie Ray, not Tony, no one before or since - could play the guitar for this song the way Jimmy did. No one. Fact.

So, help me out, here. You find it special that Page can play a song he wrote the music for better than anyone else can? Wouldn't you think the same could be said for any of the guitarists you named? Dumbass.

    Hey POPE,
Im a66 yr old Led Zeppelin devoted fan. Ha I have their poster framed still in my bedroom, Haa! What totally amazes me is all you young ppl's reactions to their music. Especially ones their 1 st time hearing it and all the Rap fans ! You seem like you really love their music, it is amazing . Jeez I really wish I could take you back in time and take you to their concert! Im from Philly, I've been to "2" of their concerts, i got to get up close to. This music is all raw no auto tune . Each and everyone of them are unique talent And it's best of the best all togeather landed as a band. With Robert Plants voice , to John Paul Jones Bass, Bonzo drums And Jimi Psge who got them all togeather! All are best to this day , the best! Watch them being inducted into Music Hall of Fame, Heart did a Super Job, with Bonzo's son on drums! I just love watching led zep Recations ! All your faces upon 1st hearing them is priceless lol they all were extreamly close friends also, Robert PLant had a baby boy son pass at age 4-5yrs old, Bonzo was big part Plant returning back to band! Good friends! Then Bonzo Passed and Band were no more sad! 9-11 yrs they played togeather. But as Jack Black said " Best Band Ever" ❤

The thing I love about Jimmy Page's performance here is the composition. The arrangement of different sounds and playing styles during this song is so awesome. The bow is obviously awesome but there are so many liitle things he does, like the sequence of octaves just before he pulls out the bow, the sequence prior to that where he has his foot on the wha wha pedal while he he strumming the guitar at the same rate while changing up the sounds by changing the frequence of his finger taps - its just beautiful sounding. The sequence of Going to San Francisco is sweet. So many things and JPJ and JHB keeping the groove going the whole time. Just inspirational...

So my older cousin and a couple of his friends took the train down from Yonkers to the MSG box office to get tickets for the concert. No ATMs in those days. So they thought they had enough cash, but guy at box office says they need to pay for a surcharge. Guy says no dice ,your out of luck. They plead with him to hold the tickets for an hour and he does. One guy flies home to Yonkers, gets the money on time and they are at this show! True story. As an aside, the biggest concert that same weekend was not this, but Summer Jam at Watkins Glen New York(The Band,Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers Band). 600,000 people showed up setting an attendance record for the US. My cousin Bob was asked to go to that and he said, not a chance,i'm going to Led Zeppelin!

Most of Jimmy's solos were improvised on the spot. That's why JPJ and Bonzo are the greatest rhythm section in R+R history. The ability to not only follow along but to make it sound right at the same time. LZ will always be the pinnacle of live rock shows no matter that they haven't been together for 40yrs. They deserve every accolade that can be given to a musical group. Their movie, "The Song Remains the Same" is packed from beginning to end with the most fantastic live versions of their already monster hits. These guys were so great together. 4 guys that were all so good you couldn't pick the best. I am 70 and listened to them on 8 track in 68. We didn't realize the impact they would have in music.

This live version, is enough to make any grown man cry with envy, or pure astonishment.
Jimmy Page goes from delicate to ferocious numerous times.
The synergistic beauty of all the band members is incredible.
What is even more astounding, is at the end, John Bonham on the drums. It seems it's sped up. It appears to be not humanly possible to hit the drums that fast, that furious- yet it's true. No trickery, no slight of projection. It was just pure, raw, cosmic, ethereal talent from them all- proving, without any doubt- they were the greatest.
    Fuck an A.
Pope, thanks to you- for your review and honest opinion.

Your reactions are joyful to watch - even the tribute to Robert Plants young son ( All of my Love) was so spot on,. You are completely Zeppified now, aren't you? Wish you could have been at this concert - it was epic and life changing.

Led Zeppelin like most heavy bands of the 70's all played their hearts out (even when on drugs) shows how good they were , deep purple are a band that were as good as Zeppelin , ian paice is a monster drummer like Mick tucker from the band sweet 👏☺

Incredibly displaying his emotions coupled with his creativity ALL not to forget IMPROVISED!! So much to want to say regarding this piece of magically God infused talent and skill!! It’s actually too good to describe and evaluate in words. The only way to experience that level of greatness is to hope someone with a massive loving heart reminds you to give it a listen

When I was a teen I worked at a restaurant across the street from a theater that played midnight showings of Zeppelins 'Song remains the same'. I use to go over every time it played after work. I'm now 56 years old and this performance of Dazed and confused I still consider the best performance in rock n roll history

Nothing to say but an absolutely epic performance. Page is no doubt the epicentre here but the interaction between his guitar and Plant's vocals and Bonham's drums drives the song to an insane level of improvisation, all the while Jones is the anchor keeping the balance and time.
