An absolutely stunning live performance of this fantastic song. Love that bit of interaction between John Paul Jones and John Bonham, that was so good. The fantasy sequence in the middle was filmed near Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands where Jimmy Page had a house at the time. Jimmy's guitar playing in this song is really phenomenal, awesome, gosh, how else can you describe it? However this performance is just incredible by all members of the band and Dazed and Confused is a good title because that's exactly how I feel after watching it, well, mainly dazed to be honest! Incidentally, the live version of Rock and Roll from MSG 1973 is brilliant as well, I know you'd love it!
Led Zeppelin is best defined by the 30 second moment beginning at 6:40. This is Jimmy Page’s band - PERIOD. He will go where he pleases and the band follows. This goes back to when he started the band from the ashes of the Yardbirds. He was the best studio guitarist in England and Jones was also a great and talented multi-instrument musician. You called it magical - you’re fucking straight bros!!
I agree with you about Page, but even he would admit that what made the band the perfection (my word) it was and will be forever, was the fact that they were all in constant sync. They knew exactly what they needed to make a song incredible by looking at each other or playing a chord and Bonzo matching it perfectly. It’s one of the reasons they didn’t carry on after Bonzo’s death, it took all 4 of these masters to make Zepplin what it was. But there’s no doubt in my mind that Page is a God and guitars were made for him!
Wow ,after reading your message I watched as Bonham looked at Jimmi and just shook his head with a smirk on his face. Geez, never saw this before and i have watched this concert many times...so ,thank you for that.
@@remedy9648 much is said about that from the moment they announced, “we can no longer continue as we were”. And it’s true but that is an intricacy forged by the years of constant touring and layers of musical nuances on stage yet, it’s ALSO well known that no two Zeppelin shows were ever the same. They were famous for playing 3 hour concerts as opposed to the Beatles doing 20-30 minutes. The point is that there were many, many musical avenues they ventured to fill all that time which resulted in songs like Dazed being 26 minutes - the equivalent of an entire Beatles concert. The movie is designed to show a visual expression of each member including Grant. Bonzo’s Moby Dick is a solo so it’s always going to differ from night to night. Jones’ No Quarter, Jimmy’s Dazed and Plant’s TSRTS and Rain Song are their “Beyond” as marketed at release and each member is given their time to shine it their songs and throughout. But, in the beginning and the end, the man in charge to date, is Jimmy Page. Be it in the studio, as the Engineer, on stage as the lead guitar and if you look at post breakup through today, it’s Page who has all the reels and remasters and markets it through various media interviews.
I have to listen to Led Zeppelin everyday or my day is incomplete. Seriously....if you love Rock and Roll...Blues......there's no one else even that can bring this much emotion and excitement. They absolutely knew what we all wanted to hear. The BADDEST...COOLEST...MOST INTENSE ROCK YOUR MIND COULD FATHOM. It's like Page knows exactly what buttons to push ....EVERYTIME!!!
disagree. Page on his own would have shred every pocket and destroyed many songs. His virtuosity would have gotten the best of him and the magic would have been lost. Think Keith Emerson - never refined into ambrosia. Jones and Bonham contained him. gave him walls to scale and caves to explore. Yeah, he would break out and they would have to rebuild another around him while Plant was like a lion tamer with flaming hoops of vocals for him to jump through.
Jimmy said he wanted all 4 members to be virtuoso's in the band (maybe not his exact words but you know what he meant). And we sure got that with Led Zeppelin. Truly worked as a unstoppable unit. Greatest band on Earth and always will be!
They played Seattle in 1972 and my dad brought home tickets one day for me and my girlfriend. The concert lasted four and a half hours. Toward the end Plant said "That's everything we know. You want to hear XXX again?" (I forgot what he'd offered) and the crowd kept going wild. I've got the bootlegs and there's no duplicates and no recording of Plant saying that... and the bootlegs only give about three and a half hours of music (three full CDs). This song was about 40 minutes in length.

"White Summer" is another Jimmy great. Its at Royal Albert Hall in 1970 I believe. Its about 12 minutes long. Or the BBC sessions album in 69 is phenomenal as well
I love the Scott McKenzie "San Francisco" interlude @6:50. ruclips.net/video/kZcyRLtwUVY/видео.html, "If you're going to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair". Ode to the 60s hippy movement. I think Led Zeppelin were saying goodbye to all that. Also, a nod to Jimi Hendrix @19:30

The music of 60s 70s was amazing, but they were better than amazing with Led Zeppelin- period....no 2 songs sounded similar ever. Patrick is calm as a cucumber, and George is like me- can't sit still watching this masterpiece. Best concert on video ever. Wow!!!! Today's music is a whimper in comparison
First saw this at the cinema during the 80's, then bought the double vinyl album. It later was released on vhs video to actually watch at home. It was all new back then. Amazing concert. Each band member has their own fantasy film. That was obviously Jimmy's. Robert's is during The Rain Song, John Paul is during No Quarter, and John Bonham during a drum solo on Moby Dick. Brilliant movie. Peter Grant their manager at the time had his fantasy at the very start of the movie. He was the first ever manager to demand his boys got 95% of the takings, or you don't get them to play. Till then it was the other way around for all groups doing live gigs. Promoters got the money leaving little left for the artists. Peter Grant ruled knowing Led Zeppelin was in big demand - so - You pay - They play ! ...& they did ! Lol Great reaction guys to an epic track. Saw them do this live in '79 at Knebworth - Jimmy had a laser shooting out the tip of his violin bow and was inside a moving laser pyramid.
I saw TSRTS in the theater in 1976 when it was 1st released. It literally changed my life. 14 years old. A whole other world opened up for me. Sat in the front row, and was just blown away! As I exited the theate, I felt completely awestruck! My Zeppelin journey had begun. 🇨🇦🍁🇨🇦

Incidentally, the live version of Rock and Roll from MSG 1973 is brilliant as well, I know you'd love it!
Agreed there is Led Zeppelin. Then there is everyone else !!
The improvisation on this live performance is next level
Robert Plant is a rock god, what presence
They played Seattle in 1972 and my dad brought home tickets one day for me and my girlfriend. The concert lasted four and a half hours. Toward the end Plant said "That's everything we know. You want to hear XXX again?" (I forgot what he'd offered) and the crowd kept going wild. I've got the bootlegs and there's no duplicates and no recording of Plant saying that... and the bootlegs only give about three and a half hours of music (three full CDs). This song was about 40 minutes in length.
He said 'This is called 'Dancing Days.' But we like it so much we're gonna do it again.' Seattle 19 Jun
@@stevesharpe361 - Could have been. Kathy and I were 16 at the time. Wasn't there also a large inflatable ball bounding around? I definitely remember all the lighters going on frequently.
@@rchuso you saw the best show of 1972. 6/19 if that's what you're saying. I'm really jealous of people who saw peak zep live lol. What an experience.
Yes there was. I remember it. About 5 feet in diameter or something like that. And lighters going off everywhere out on the floor. My gf got stoned too. Dad sat outside parked on the street and listened to the entire show too. He liked LZ (dad had good taste).
27 minutes long unbridled brilliance Jimmy makes his guitar sing and Robert makes his voice play guitar 🎸 solo after solo we are into another stratosphere
And a lot of people think Bonzo just bangs the drums the loudest...they have no clue.
Exactly right!
I’ve watched a lot of drummers copying him and they will be beat for for beat in time. But none of of them get anywhere near his touch and feeling for the music.
Anyone not awe struck with this performance does not love rock and roll. Anyone not realizing Jimmy Page is a guitar God does not love rock guitar. 😳 And of course Robert's voice, JPJ holding them together and Bonham going crazy. Just the best! Thanks for sharing this epic performance.
This alone even if you ignored everything else they ever did would cement them as the best band ever
This song always wears me out.
THANK YOU GUYS................
What a moment of John Bonham at 7:15 Amazing!! So many groove.
This is the Echoes of Led Zeppelin. The greatest of the greatest. Echoes.
Jimmy’s peak. He was untouchable in 73
Kudos for reacting to the entire thing with no breaks. This is a hypnotic performance and it needs to be heard without interruptions.
The first time I tried "acid" I was about 17 and went to the the movie theater to see Song Remains the Same... I 'peaked' around this Dazed and confused and my life was never the same I'm grateful full stop.
This was recorded as a movie that was released later called The Song Remains The Same. All of this series of concerts at MSG were used. Love Led Zeppelin and love your reactions.
Best rythem section ever.
White Summer is another track that Page just absolutely kills it on..
A violin bow on a guitar. Just f*cking amazing!
En 12 años del rock nadie más grandes que ellos no solo son músicos son la mejor banda de todos los tiempos y en su cortar vida dejar un legado que todavía nadie más los supera
I remember when I would catch this on the television every once in a great while and it didn't matter if I had to work the next day, I was staying up until it was over. I own it now. You guys need to watch the entire film. It's incredible! The money from the show was stolen during the concert. It was insane! I almost forgot that I drew Jimmy as the old man at the mountain top for my art class in high school. I wish I still had it!
Saw them this same year. I was 13, my first concert!! I didn’t change my shirt for three days, didn’t want to wash the concert off😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳
😂 I get it...believe me!!
and then of course...the most phenomenal guitar riff at the end
God bless you all! Thank for reaction ! Amazing guys
The wizard of the electric guitar....
The one and only Led Zep. Atemporal music.
When you look at who is in the band and the fact that all of them were able to give their very best so many times and so much, it almost isn't fair
Many people I think try to categorize this band...but you can't. Their musicianship, their imagination and soul are expressed in a musical 'voice' that is all their own. To have experienced this live would have been amazing.
Every song. Every performance. Is the best performance or song. Until you hear and see them again...
Wow, just wow! How can anyone even come close to LZ?? This live performance is insane. Great reaction guys! I have seen it before but forgot to comment. Glad it is still up!!
Rain song live, Kashmir live, Going to California and Misty mountain hop are some great Zeppelin songs you should consider. Take it easy.
Greatest hard rock band of all time. So innovative. I've seen this movie a hundred times and it still amazes me. Saw it many times at the theater, bought the VHS tape, the DVD and the Blu-ray. Zeppelin was my first concert so I saw them do this live in 1977 at the Pontiac Silverdome. 77,000 people. Look it up!
What a memory!!😄
Oooooohhhhhh yyyeeeaahhhhhh!!
Page il miglior chitarrista venuto dallo spazio
This is great!!
In the film of Led Zeppelin live that’s called The Song Remains The Same every member of the band has a dream sequence and they are all different and brilliant just like the band live! My favourite band ever hands down!!
I also love the video clips in the movie as well as the concert.
Led Zeppelin.. none other, none better.
I was at one of these shows. My Aunt who's only 4 years older than me took me for my birthday. I was 13. Thank you Aunt Eileen. I am indebted to you for ever.
Great reaction!! But the next zeppelin reaction has to be the rain song or over the hills and far away😂👍👌
Do react to the song remains the same/the rain song live MSG 1973. U will know what is the meaning of true melody of a music
I think I did that if I'm not mistaken?
The GOATS! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I was and still am a huge fan as a child in the 60s thru to this day ( in my 60s)
I missed seeing this concert footage then. Just watching it with you. OMG!!
Please George, let your brother get to speak please
In comparison to days music isn't...music!
@@mstewart109 he was just so excited!
Led Zeppelin is the perfect had every single album and Pink Floyd also, mind blowing 🤯❤️🤘✌️ love your reactions guys, You Two ROCK!!

@@cheripetty1805 Yes and the cinema screens were massive back then, with superb sound systems for a large theater, and not divided into these numerous tiny screens. My tv is bigger. Lol
This is one reason the 70s tops the 80s Right HERE
How in the F does Page move his fingers and hands that fast!? I just think about how big my hands and fingers are and having a hard enough time maneuvering them the right way to even type on a computer keyboard 😀
And that my friends is the closest you're going to get to being at a Led Zeppelin concert, saw them many times and each show was a little different than the other. I 'm a big "Led Head " since I was a teenager, I'm in my 60's now and still listen to them, obviously.....lol!😆✌
Me too! My favorite band of all time! I was 16 in 1976!
@@juliemanarin4127 l told him that most of us were in our 60's, l'll be 65 this year and your right behind me. I saw Zeppelin at the Forum in L.A, were did you see them? Rock on sister🤟😜
That’s the tour when I saw Led Zeppelin. I believe it was 72. The band was terrific! John Bonham on drums one of the hardest hitting drummers of my time. John Paul Jones setting the bass line. Jimmy page on electric guitar was as eccentric as he always was more involved in the dark works. And of course the one and only Robert Plant. One of the greatest singers of all time. I remember standing near the stage as Robert Plant came forward playing for me and my friend cops tried to sit us down and Robert shook them off. What are the best concerts I ever saw I didn’t see them years later but I felt at the 72 concert was the best
Love Led Zeppelin ❤
Omg, absolutely fecking epic!!!
I think this is the best free-form Jimmy Page ever recorded. My favorite anyway.
