Well equipped? Lord I remember my first cross countries back in the early 70’s I had a sectional in my lap with a course drawn in pencil with waypoints marked and a single VOR receiver. I must have been crazy. But then I think about what the young men flying military aircraft in WWII had I remember my Uncle who flew C-47 and 46’s in the South Pacific. He would tell me they listened to a signal on what the called a coffee grinder to find some small island landing strip even at night. The heck with that they were a different breed!
As a non-pilot, I’m always amazed at how much “work” it takes to fly a plane. It doesn’t appear fun. It’s constant communication, constantly calculating things, and staying alert.
That was uneventful but exceptional for the professionalism and the knowledge shared between the generations of the two pilots. I've had a commercial ticket for 50 years but no longer fly and this was particularly enjoyable to an old single engine relic. Great job.
I have watched several of your videos now and I am so impressed with not only your piloting skills, but your demeanor and just the general way you carry yourself! 58 student pilot and recent widower here trying to figure out the next steps in life. Not kidding when I say I wish I could introduce you to my son🤣🤣. Please stay safe and continue to enjoy what I am just now discovering is an amazing opportunity that few will ever get to experience!! Regards!
I hope you keep making videos. So many pilots have put out a few videos and then disappear. You make it intersection enough that it will be a big loss if you disappear like the others! You have a natural talent for being interesting while you are recording! Keep up the good work!!!
It is a pleasure flying with you Captain. I like that you show us around the plane and explain how things work. The explanation of carbon fiber and wing flex during the bumpy ride was real life interesting.
Interesting DA capability. Dad flew our family from Winnipeg to Greenwood Nova Scotia when I was eight in 1967. Flew over Montreal Expo 67 site and at 65 I still remember it. Debonair is a sweet plane.
Great video! I did my multi-IFR on the DA42, and would love to fly the 62. One minor nitpick - with ATC, you requested to "divert" rather than "deviate", which could mean that you were planning to terminate the flight at a different airport than was originally planned rather than deviate to avoid the weather, which was a great in-flight plan!
Beautiful aircraft. Admire the technology. I’ve never flown Diamond. Lots of Cessna and some Beech 1900, ATR and Boeing 727 thru 747-8. Currently Cessna 206.
I really enjoyed this one, loved the banter between you two. Dirk seems like a really cool guy to fly with and I am a bit of a fan of the Diamond aircraft.
This brings back memories. I must have done that flight from London to Port Huron 20 times in my cargo days. Would have been a lot easier with those G1000’s!
Really liking the vibe of your channel, Hayley. You display a true joy of flight. Looking forward to following your adventures, your pursuit of AMP, and plans for Debi.
Great video Hayley…loving the ‘62! Dirk is the best co-pilot/passenger for Diamond Aircraft! And he had some great lines like “There you go captain” and “That’s exactly how you do it.” He knows who’s boss 😜 Thanks for taking me along 🤗
so many flights above wall of Clouds one side & Open Blue Skies other side .So beautiful flight ....flying above but very the edge of weather .... till clear Touch down
Thanks for sharing your experiences in the DA. Love them. If I could make a suggestion to make them even more enjoyable... My kind hearted suggestion would be to have a much "slower pan" when transitioning views (from instrument panel to exterior for example). This would allow the viewer to enjoy and take in the details of this new an unfamilar A/C. It would also eliminate the "dizzying" effect that comes with a quick transition. Thanks! Keep 'em coming : )
Chesterfield has it all. My work site is on the glidepath to KSUS. Lots of short finals turn in right over our plant. Did you know the whole area (valley) around the airport was under water during the '93 flood? Even the highway was flooded.
I enjoy flying my 58 Baron, I can usually pull it back to between 20-22 gph total with around 165TAS at anywhere between 8&11,000ft. It’s also known ice certified. Never having flown a Diamond aircraft, I can’t make any comparisons but I don’t feel as it’s heavy on the controls or slow to react. The only comparison I can make is too a Piper Seneca 1 which is like flying a dump truck, lol. It’s kind of heavy on the controls and not exactly very sporty with the speed or performance as compared to the Baron. I would enjoy taking a flight in a Diamond one day just to see what the hype is all about.
I have been enjoying watching your channel since YT suggested this due to my viewing preferences. I do have questions on what are the requirements to become a ferry pilot? If you have time could you expand on the path you have taken to get where you are in your flying career. I have an interest in getting my PPL and being a ferry pilot is very appealing to me. Thank you
Lovely, 😍 no traffic Jam or byscles to watch out for. Is thrust synonyms with Trust? Blue sky's and Sunshine, did you ever fly through a 🌈 what is your idea of Romance? 💖
Welcome to KSUS! Is Dirk from STL? He seems to know my hometown well, even The Hill for Italian cuisine. But it looks like you ate in the valley. Not a bad second choice.
Suggestion: Every time you can think to distinguish an action and provide a comparison to another craft it provide great feedback . . . 6 levers vs 2, fuel per hour, responsiveness, etc. Few do this, but those insights really enrich the content...
Not an Pilot but lucky to have right seated on so many 100/400 miles flights +- & Live 1 mile from my local small airport Love my new Seat iam in ....seems iam flying with you Thanks be safe & we Enjoy Point to Point Flight with ya ... Thanks ....
Nice looking plane it's just heavy, expensive, slow and large outer dimensions to carry the weight so you need a bigger hangar. Diamond should make small turbofan engines and pressurized light plane. Would be a revolution.
The sound, when you are using the headphones, is tilted/panned slightly to the left ear, which kinda hurts listening to it on headphones... But everything else about your video's is superb! Big fan!
What a bright future you have Hayley. So inspiring for young women.
Well equipped? Lord I remember my first cross countries back in the early 70’s I had a sectional in my lap with a course drawn in pencil with waypoints marked and a single VOR receiver. Yeah well equipped, I remember in the early 90’s if you had a loran and headsets you were a big shit you would be flying a baron or bonanza.😂
Those were the days….😊
What a gorgeous aircraft. I love the color scheme and how futuristic the cockpit looks. Awesome scenery in this one as well. Thanks for the share
Dirk has a Great radio voice. Great video Hayley.
As a non-pilot, I’m always amazed at how much “work” it takes to fly a plane. It doesn’t appear fun. It’s constant communication, constantly calculating things, and staying alert.
That's what makes it fun :)

thankyou for such a kind comment 🥹 I really enjoy filming these and it makes me so happy you enjoy them!!
Always fun to watch. Thank you for bringing us along.
Wow what an airplane and Hayley you fly that beauty like a duck takes to water, you are very talanted, please keep the videos coming.
It is a pleasure flying with you Captain. I like that you show us around the plane and explain how things work. The explanation of carbon fiber and wing flex during the bumpy ride was real life interesting.
Love my 62! She’s only a couple months old, and it’s an amazing aircraft.
Glad you love them too!! They’re hard not to
How much did you buy it?

Great discussion about the advantages of Fadec. That's good tech, reducing workload.
Beautiful aircraft. Admire the technology. I’ve never flown Diamond. Lots of Cessna and some Beech 1900, ATR and Boeing 727 thru 747-8. Currently Cessna 206.
Hello Hayley I really love your videos I hope you keep showing them on you tube I really enjoy watching you fly keep up the good work and fly safe ❤❤
katana cafe is awesome. go there regularly. excellent fish and chips, they make amazing tartar sauce there.
I really enjoyed this one, loved the banter between you two. Dirk seems like a really cool guy to fly with and I am a bit of a fan of the Diamond aircraft.
Love these delvery vids, Hayley. Would be great to get am occational feature / appointment breakdown of these new aircraft.
This brings back memories. I must have done that flight from London to Port Huron 20 times in my cargo days. Would have been a lot easier with those G1000’s!
My fav aircraft in MSFS and my favorite airport to practice at.

I’ve flown to that airport a few times from Houston. Nice area. Poor Dirk though, what a tough day for him 😂
Enjoyed the video and the flight. Thanks!
Really liking the vibe of your channel, Hayley. You display a true joy of flight. Looking forward to following your adventures, your pursuit of AMP, and plans for Debi.

Beautiful flying machine!

Commercial pilot certificate, Class 2 or Class 1 medical, and enough hours to meet insurance requirements. Probably about 1000.
Good morning from Minnesota USA!! Great episode!
Butter landing, must be nice to fly that beautiful bird!
Wonder if you got Italian on "The Hill" ??? Used to be THE place to find great food!
Lovely, 😍 no traffic Jam or byscles to watch out for. Is thrust synonyms with Trust? Blue sky's and Sunshine, did you ever fly through a 🌈 what is your idea of Romance? 💖
Whne I read Factory I first thought you are picking it up in Austria and fly it all the way across the pond.
Nice plane! When I get ready, I'll drop the cash for one...looks about right for what I want/need!
Great Flight and Vid Hailey, always enjoy!❤❤
Dirk could take Bill Curtis’s job narrator of a LOT of A&E channel programs
Enjoyable flight with good company
great plane, great flight...skilled pilots...fly safe all
Love these vids👍 when will debi make her appearance in flying vid? Congrats on everything!!
Very soon! Wanted to fly the Debi a few times first before adding cameras, planning to film a fun flight coming up
I enjoyed this video. I miss flying. . . .
Love Diamond, would love to have a 62, all I need know is some additional money 🤪
Can you link or do a video on your background, what you do for a living, how you are able to suport flying etc? Appreciate the content👍
Welcome to KSUS! Is Dirk from STL? He seems to know my hometown well, even The Hill for Italian cuisine. But it looks like you ate in the valley. Not a bad second choice.
I found your channel about a week ago. I love it! You have such a cool job I never considered in aviation!
Thankyou!! I didn’t know about it either until about a year ago- been enjoying it 😊
I worked on a Hawker 400 with TKS system. It was always leaking. We stopped it by selling the plane!

Have a great day!✌️😎🇺🇸
For Italian food in St. Louis; I wonder if Rinaldi’s restaurant is still in business.
I was going to ask about wind 🌬️ at a higher altitude but you had the information. Nice job 👍
Interesting flight. It would have been nice to see the instruments while you were flying, airspeed, alt etc....
will keep in mind for next time- I can’t mount cameras so it was hard on this flight to show the panel
@@FlywithHayley Okie Dokie, Thank You!!
Was just in SUS. What's the name of the Italian restaurant you like? Love the vid! Fly safe!
I wonder how long before there is active suspension between the wing and fuselage....Be kinda like hydro foil ride on a boat.
Make sure an do a video of my DA62 in October! N224UT!
Or if it's just Dirk...tell him to go over the plane with a fine toothed comb! ;)
Very nice flight Hayley...beautiful automation on that Diamond.
It’s not a nap. It’s a controlled rest. 18:46
Hi!! When are you making it to the Dallas area? Let me know 😎
Good job !!
Great video, but why did you stay so low?
Surely that thing will go over 10,000 feet? Maybe even 20? 😊
Ciao
Did this guy ever go to radio at some point in his life he has the voice for it
Not an Pilot but lucky to have right seated on so many 100/400 miles flights +- & Live 1 mile from my local small airport Love my new Seat iam in ....seems iam flying with you Thanks be safe & we Enjoy Point to Point Flight with ya ... Thanks ....
Which Italian restaurant did you go to in St Louis from Sammy
Omg, that's Dirk! I've talked to him on the phone!
Nice memories. I was ATC at Selfridge ANGB way back in the 1970s and worked PHN.
154 knots at 6.000ft... not quite the speed machine you could get for 2 MILLION bucks... but looks very nice & spacious :) !
That dude has the classic airline captain’s voice.
So, ITALIAN FOOD. Order of the day. ;)
another nice video, your passenger adds a little to the video
Wow he has a million dollar voice!🙂🤩
Nice looking plane it's just heavy, expensive, slow and large outer dimensions to carry the weight so you need a bigger hangar. Diamond should make small turbofan engines and pressurized light plane. Would be a revolution.
How amazing that would be to have a job where you fly a different new airplane every day!
Port Huron is an hour down the road from me.
That's a nice little twin.
I love this bird!
What is the name of the Italian restaurant in Saint Louis ??
The sound, when you are using the headphones, is tilted/panned slightly to the left ear, which kinda hurts listening to it on headphones... But everything else about your video's is superb! Big fan!
It must be great flying with Michael Caine.
I can’t believe how well he is talking without opening his mouth
