Maul's fatal flaw is his wrath and arrogance. You see that right the way from Phantom menace up to his death in Rebels. Logically, he should strive to avoid a duel with Anakin and Obi-wan and lure them into some inescapable trap. A sealed room with gas or room full of explosives or mines. Putting them under close range fire from heavy artillery or Vehicles. Having them face a huge number of Mandalorian warriors ( flame-throwers, rockets, vibroblades and flechette gun equipped) would defeat even the best Jedi. However, Maul does not work on pure logic and it seems more in character for him to try and fail to talk Anakin or Obi-wan around using what he knows. His wrath would then get the better of him and he'd get into a duel which he would promptly lose and either A) Be captured if against Obi-wan or B) Be killed if against Anakin.
I think the fight between maul and obiwan and Anakin would be like obiwan and qui Gon vs maul where maul has the high ground and this time he didn't let his guard down and cut Kenobi in half and Anakin kill maul I know others would disagree but all my opinion
People saying Obi Wan beat both Maul and Savage are stupid. First off, Maul and Savage beat Obi Wan when he got help from ventress leaving him to say: ''We are outmatched'' Second is that in the episode they are talking about Adia Gallia is killed and Obi Wan is on the run. Obi Wan lost the duel against Maul and Savage, but managed to hit Savage's kneecap and cut off his arm. Maul had a choice fight Obiwan alone and risk losing Savage or doing a strategic retreat. He chose the second and smarter option. Saying Obi Wan won the duel against both off them is a gross misrepresentation.
Not to mention that this Maul fought against Sidious and he held on pretty good + this Maul defeated Dooku and Grievous in a fight just a few days earlier than the siege of Mandalore, so he would beat Anakin
These last few episodes have been a cut above the rest. So much is good about it. The way they used night time at the end to signify the dark side engulfing everything without anyone realizing it was perfect. The sense of doom and dread approaching gives these episodes more weight and anxiety. Even the animation seems to be higher quality and the music...they used the theatrical music instead of the usual Clone Wars score, but mixing the two as well. 1,000 thumbs up!
This may be too hopeful but I wish they make a 12 episode series of (Clone Wars Cartoon style or real people) Darth Vader hunting Jedi, meeting Darth Maul, and facing down a pissed off Mace Windiu alongside Boba Fett.
Maul is better in strategy then smoke. Which is why I think that if obi kenobi and anaka skywalker came to mandatory he had an entire plan to splitz them and then use goodness inside the Jedi to kill them. Kenobi and skywalker would probably bring some clones so when the 3 fight I think maul would fake his death go in disguise as a clone and than kill or turn them from inside.
I had this question too cause there’s no way maul can take on anakin 1 on 1 and definitely not anakin and obi wan together. This is peak anakin, when anakin taps into the dark side, it doesn’t matter how many Mandalorians there are, anakin is killing everyone
Anakin would would win but I don't think it would be as one sided as most people would think right Maul is also at his peak and his force abilities are much more powerful than TPM Maul so he could take on anakin 1 v1 but probably will lose
Anakin could have turned at least somewhat, then realizing that Sidious was truly behind the CW and his plot to rule the galaxy; took advantage of Maul's weakness or fear of Sidious, thus attempt to flip Maul into thinking Anakin was his best path to staying safe. In all likelihood Anakin may have just taken Mandalore and even the Darksaber. In a fight Anakin could wipe the floor with Maul, no question

Maul is more powerful than both Anakin and Obiwan, he obviously wouldn't he able to 1v2 them, but would be able to 1v1 both Anakin and Obiwan. What people don't realize, is that when Maul and Savage fought Obiwan, Obiwan is the master of form 3, the defensive form, and targeted the weak link, Savage, because of his mastery of form 3 he was able to survive and cut off Savage's arm, Maul then wanted to save his brother, so he simply force pushed Obiwan away. When it comes to Maul dueling Anakin, it would definitely be a hard battle, but I believe that during ep. 3 was still more powerful. Also, Maul never reached his full potential, he was thrown away by Sidious before his training was complete, and you simply can't learn the rest just by yourself. If Maul reached his full potential, he would easily defeat the like of Mace, Obiwan, Dooku, Anakin, Vader etc. Many people think Maul is weak in the force, on the contrary, he is extremely powerful in the force, when it comes to his midichlorian count, it's somewhere in the range of 15k-20k, like Dooku or Mace, however, he has even higher count then them. Maul would be easily able to use the hardest force abilites, but he doesn't, because he uses the force in a different way, he like to fight someone directly, not by destroying them with the force.
And a wolf is also a killing machine, yet which of our species is the master and which is the pet? Its not just about brawn. Dooku has the brains and also the skill. Dooku could take maul. He's also more powerful and has a wider range of abilities.
I definitely think y’all aren’t giving maul enough props for his skill I definitely think he could’ve held his own for a while against anakin and obi wan. Everytime maul fought obi wan during the clone wars tv show maul won. I would put mail on the same level as Dooku easily. Think about when maul fought mace windu and Ayala two Jedi masters and easily traded blows and got the best of them. It’s definitely not out of his reach to be able to fight obi wan and anakin now if he had savage he would have a much better chance

So true! It just dawned on me after reading your comment. I was wondering why he didn't want to be captured by the Jedi so badly, as I'm sure the Jedi would have kept him locked up but not tortured, etc. But behind the Jedi was Palpatine and of course Maul knew very well about his former master's alter ego... Palpatine would have had him tortured and killed for sure. There would be no escape for him the second time and no mother talzin or nightsisters to run to for help or protection since Talzin and most of the other nightsister warriors had long since been killed.
Trek Star Sam yea, basically and knowing palpatine. His torture methods are slow and cruelty rather then quick and painless. Palpatine would have made maul feel everything bit of his force lightning. Behind the scenes when people aren’t looking. Palpatine holds grudges for sure. He always has, he never forgets the people who mess his plans up. After all palpatine was almost ready to ditch Anakin after losing to kenobi and being burned alive. The only reason he didn’t ditch anakin was because he would have to find a new Apprentice. And all that time of deceiving and groom Anakin would have been for nothing. Now imagine what palpatine would do with maul. In legends, palpatine tortured the Death Star engineer that made the Death Star and then preceded to clone him over and over just so palpatine could torture him again.

He pretty much states that the reason why he saved Anakin is because he didn't want to spend years searching for another apprentice with only half of Anakin's strength. (In the Darth Vader comics). Yes, and I very well remember reading about how he would clone and torture and kill the DS engineer repeatedly for his own amusement. However if Anakin had died on Mustafar, I think the Emperor would have sought out Maul again to do his dirty work. He would be much less work controlling as he already was strong and needed no additional training or "hand holding" like a younger, far less experienced force user would. Palpatine got lazy once he became the emperor and spent most of his life to trying to achieve immortality. He didn't have time to do any grunt work and go track down and kill Jedi. He would need underlings such as Vader, Maul, and the Inquisitors to deal with such boring, yet brutal minutiae.... :D
Unpopular opinion: I think Maul would have a stronger chance of beating Anakin alone than people give credit - Maul wanted to isolate him in the sewers with the Super Commandos - Maul's Form VII combat style is equal to Anakin's Form V style, but factoring in the super commandos may change that - Maul at this time is in his prime, he is more skilled and experienced than he has ever been. - Maul was able to contend with General Grievous, as well as Mace Windu and Aayla Secura at the same time (Son of Dathomir) - But most importantly, Maul would know the fate of the galaxy would be on the line in this fight. He would put it all on the line knowing what is about to happen if he fails. I feel his sheer will and determination would be able to tip the scale just enough
And yet obi wan beat him and savage by himself, anakin has surpassed obi wan and skill and power, only reason he lost to obi wan was because they knew each others style and obi wan took advantage of Anakin's arrogance. We also have to remember, obi wan beat maul when he was a padawan, and another padawan/Knight, ahsoka, also beat him fair and square. Anakin would wipe the floor with maul. Not to mention taking Ahsoka's line with a grain of salt, she mentioned that anakin could have beaten maul, and i believe her, when fighting an opponent you can generally gauge their skill, and if ahsoka was confident enough in her own abilities to see the flaws in maul's style, and knowing Anakin's skill and style, I think it isnt merely a jab meant to undermine, but also has a layer of truth to it.

I low-key think that Obi-Wan would've sided with Maul considering the situation with Palpatine staying long after his term has expired, but the outcome would've been different. I could see Obi-Wan deceiving Maul so he has an opportunity to defeat Darth Sidious while saving Anakin.

The only real way I could see Maul kill both Anakin and Obi-wan is if Maul somehow knocked Obi-wan out of the fight and went all out on Anakin. Since this fight would've take place around the same time as Anakin would've killed Dooku, Maul wouldn't of been provoking and taunting Anakin, tempting him to use the dark side, Maul would go for the kill right away, not holding anything back like Dooku did.
@JAYLAN YOUNG - STUDENT In that same book, from Dooku's POV, we see that Anakin is more powerful than Dooku in every way. If you are the superior fighter and throw the fight, you don't end up with both your hands effortlessly sliced off. Also, Dooku>Maul. Dooku can go toe-to-toe with Yoda for at least awhile while Sidious smoked Maul.
@JAYLAN YOUNG - STUDENT You can't compare early Clone Wars Anakin to Ventress. He grew significantly more powerful over the course of the war. Anakin later on in a comic absolutely ragdolled Ventress and would've killed her with ease the instant he got angry and stopped being distracted (Look up how Anakin got his scar). Uh, when was Dooku using Force lightning during his lightsaber duel with Yoda? Oh wait, he wasn't. Dooku only used Force lightning in their little Force battle beforehand. Dooku then states that their battle would be decided with lightsaber skill. Sidious didn't tell Dooku to hold back. He told him to provoke Anakin to use the Dark Side. That's a vast difference. Then, from Dooku's POV, Dooku got obliterated as soon as Anakin tapped into the Dark Side. That is a fact. Besides, if Dooku was so superior like you believe, he wouldn't have gotten both of his hands sliced off while throwing the fight. Also, the last time we see Anakin and Dooku fight on screen in the Clone Wars show, Anakin nearly kills Dooku who resorts to blasting Anakin away with Force lightning and that still didn't end the fight. All of the facts go against your side which is entirely headcanon. How is Maul with half of his body chopped off more powerful in the Force and more skilled than Anakin? Maul has never shown himself to be a better lightsaber duelist or more powerful in the Force than RotS Anakin. That is literally your pure opinion. In fact, all evidence favors Anakin to win a fight win Maul.

@@amity4600 When Anakin is in a good day, he can beat Dooku. But not Mace Windu. And most of the time, Anakin would lose to Dooku anyway. Keep in mind that their fight in ROTS wasn't a fair fight. Dooku was asked by Palpatine not to hurt Anakin, while Anakin wanted to kill him. So I think that Mace and Dooku are superior to Anakin.

Maul was going easy on Ahsoka like Vader was in ESB. Remember when Maul was kicking obi wans ass in that 1vs1 they had. He had to attack savage to escape. However, maul was not planning to duel skywalker, he was gonna use deathwatch to kill him in those tunnels. Then probably kill kenobi himself.
In a one on one fair fight with Anakin, Maul would lose. In an unfair fight - surprised, outnumbered and surrounded... yeah anyone can be killed *(looks at order 66 / the Jedi temple massacre which will be coming shortly as proof)*
I see Anakin vs Maul just like Anakin vs Dooku and Obi. At first Maul would have the upper hand but eventually Anakin would rap into the dark side and use his raw power to overwhelm Maul.
StarWars Speculation during the Mortis Arc during the 2008 TCW, Anakin saw what he would’ve became. If the Father didn’t erase that from Anakin’s mind, what do you think Anakin would’ve done with that knowledge?
At this point in the timeline Maul can beat Kenobi 1v1. Obi-Wan outright says "we're outmatched", and the time he has to fight 2v1 he uses SAVAGE as leverage to escape, not beating Maul himself. Kenobi killing him so quickly in Rebels was an entirely different set of circumstances, which I could write an entire essay on but won't right now. Maul VS Skywalker is a seriously close matchup. In my opinion, one of the greatest hypothetical matchups in all of Star Wars. It would be blindingly fast, furious and brutal. Anakin would eventually win, but Maul would NOT make it easy for him. It would be arrogant of Maul to think he could take both Anakin and Obi-Wan at the same time, though. Quite apart from the fact that both of them are tough opponents on their own, their teamwork and synergy pushes it over the top.
well, maul is already one of the most physically skilled duelists on the dark side. very capable. he never uses force lightning or the force. he is limiting himself constantly. don't think this makes him win guaranteed, but he always relied on his anger only to fight and could've become much more if he embraced the force more so.
Perhaps Maul could’ve found a way to kindle Anakin’s anger and dark side tendencies similar to how Dooku did. If Dooku was able to kindle Anakin’s rage in their final fight, perhaps maul could’ve driven Anakin’s anger to a point in which, similar to his fight on mustafar, Anakin makes a fatal mistake or at the very least is injured, forcing Obi-Wan to protect him while Maul keeps up his attack. Maul wouldn’t collapse under Anakin’s barrage the way Dooku did because he is both stronger and a more well rounded fighter who has proven his capability to fend off powerful offensive barrages (Duel of the Fates, Ep. 1), allowing Maul wait for the right opportunity to strike. Even if he is only able to partially debilitate Anakin, the changing dynamic would force Obi-Wan into a poor defensive position by robbing him of his ability to move in a roving tactical retreat. Combine this with Maul’s super commandos and it’s entirely possible for him to succeed.
Additionally, Maul has proven capable of breaking Obi-Wan’s telekinetic defenses similarly and even more effectively than Dooku did in ROTS. If Maul did this and was then allowed even a couple minutes alone with Anakin, he could start taunting him with his own knowledge of Anakin’s dark side similar to Dooku. Anakin would tap into the dark side and go all out but Maul would deflect and/or evade long enough to find an opportunity, similar to Obi-Wan on Mustafar, thus achieving his goal.
Maul in speaking to both Anakin and Obiwan "My master was Palpatine, trust your feelings, use the force to read me, know the truth" then to Anakin, "You fear the death of someone you love, Kenobi killed me and I lived, I can teach you my secret."
Maul didn't necessarily have to kill Anakin in order to win. Sidious, in order to get Anakin, needed to be very close to him. With Anakin busy in a wild goose chase within Mandalore Maul deprives his old master of this particular detail and all he would have to do is drop hints here and there, to keep Anakin hooked (because he would have definitely been interested in discovering the mastermind behind the war and everything else). The various details, if added up, could have tipped Anakin off coupled with the pieces of info already at his disposal (namely Fives and Dooku being involved in the creation of the clones). Granted Maul wasn't aware of Order 66 but Anakin could have pieced that one
Maybe maul would've tried to finish turning Anakin instead of letting Sidious "dew it"... then have him and Obi-Wan fight while he laughed at them and waited to kill the winner.
The comments about Anakin's skill and strength are definitely valid, and those qualities should not be dismissed. But a lot of people are forgetting or failing to see just how powerful Maul is at this point, too. In Episode 1, he took on both Obi-wan and Qui-gon and pretty much won. His arrogance and need to gloat is what defeated him at the end, just as much as Obi-wan's leap (an act that should have been a warning to Anakin in Episode 3, as Obi-wan had seen that trick before. Ahem) from the pit. Anyone else, and that would have been it, but Maul was so strong with the Force and his mastery of the Dark Side that he was able to not only survive being cut in half, he was able to gather together enough droid parts to allow him to become mobile again and remain hidden from both the Jedi and Sidious for years. And he only grew stronger, as everyone seems to ignore just how casually he was able to swat away the blaster shots from Bo-katan. Anakin had only just begun to fully embrace the Dark Side, and even then it wasn't until after he had killed all the Separatist leaders on Mustafar. Up until then, Anakin's only real moment when he touched the Dark Side was during his fight with Dooku, and subsequent execution of him. He just doesn't have anywhere near the experience at using the power of the Dark Side that Maul does. Anakin is, however, the better lightsabre duelist, so he's got that going for him, but he still suffers from that one major weakness that's always plagued him: his cockiness that there's no situation he can't get himself out of. Maul's defeats have embittered him, for sure, but he also recognised that he has limitations so he's not above using help or tricks when needed to be victorious. Anakin, however, thinks that while help is always welcome, in the end he doesn't really need it and can get things done on his own. So, had Maul succeeded in luring Obi-wan and Anakin to Mandalore when he wanted, he would have had the advantage of: far more experience in the Dark Side than Anakin, far more strength in the Force than any opponent Anakin had faced up until then (yes, I'm convinced Maul was leagues above Dooku in his strength and mastery of the Force), a mind that is used to tricks and tactics beyond just fighting with a lightsabre, and an army of Mandalorians who were salivating at the thought that they would go out in a battle that hadn't been seen by Mandalorians since the war against the Jedi. He'd have to separate Anakin and Obi-wan, of course, or he's done, but once that happens the fight against Anakin is far less certain in outcome than what many are thinking. Anakin's arrogance, Maul's strength and skill, and the large number of highly skilled warriors whose idea of a good time is dying in battle all combine to make things look very dire for Anakin.
I feel like Anakin would crush Maul. He would remember how Maul killed Qui-Gon, so Anakin would use the Dark side. Dooku managed to coax him into using the dark side, so remembering how Maul killed his former master would set him off.
You got to give Maul more credit in a fight against Anakin because they both have offensive fighting forms. Obi Wan only won against Maul because he is a master of Soresu and he was just waiting for Maul and Savage. I think it would be a pretty even fight between Anakin and Obi Wan vs Maul and the Mandalorians.
Bro I’ve got a question pls maul used a force mind trick on jesse to get information of who Ashoka was and why she left the Jedi council becuase of their hypocrisy and involvement in the war. Could this show how clones like Jesse or just Jesse alone viewed the Jedi as hypocrites and viewed them as going darker which made them with the enactment of order 66 execute the Jedi without no feelings or regret. The clones were surely hardened and their thoughts of the Jedi became much darker which eventually led them to carrying out order 66. Thank a lot n pls reply bro may the force be with u . Maul himself said he wanted to kill him, but yeah they’d talk while they were knocking each other around. It would have been cool to see how Anakin would react to all the info Maul knows.

You're all overestimating Anakin and underestimating Maul. I don't know if Maul would manage to kill him, but it's going to be very close. They were both quite even in terms of skill and speed, but I think Maul had the upper hand in terms of agility and mobility, if only slightly. He was also a little bit stronger physically, and a little better martial artist, and even though both were mentally unstable at that point, I feel Maul would have it easier to fuck up with Anakin's mind than the other way round. Anakin might have the advantage in terms of Force power, but it shouldn't be by a large margin, so that wouldn't be a important factor. Anakin was outstanding, but he wasn't in Yoda or Sidious league. He defeated Dooku not by being a much superior fighter, but because Dooku's form 2 had a lot of issues against Anakin's form 5, and also because of his old age he had less stamina and was more vulnerable to strong physical attacks. Maul wouldn't have that issue against him.
If Maul gets overconfident, he's fucked. But I think he would be focused because he would've already been aware of Anakin's skill and power. So in a 1v1, with no plot armor involved, he should have a good chance of defeating him.
I don't think that Maul ever planned to turn Obi Wan. Obi Wan had hurt him too much, made him lose his favored status with Palpatine, his mind, his life, and everything else for so many years. Maul REALLY hated Obi Wan and wanted nothing more than to hurt him and take everything and everyone he loved away. Killing Anakin would hurt not only the emperor's plans, but also would have been yet another harsh blow to Obi Wan himself, because had Maul accomplished that, he would have been responsible for the deaths of Obi Wan's master, lover, AND student/best friend. That would have been the ultimate blow to Obi Wan who raised and loved Anakin like a protective older brother. There is no way Obi Wan EVER would have joined Maul, either, after he already killed Qui Gon and Satine.
Maul would’ve bested Anakin because he would go all out and even if Anakin tapped into the dark side I don’t think it would be enough because Maul has more experience in the dark side than Anakin. And don’t forget the only reason Count Dooku lost to Anakin because he wasn’t taking it seriously he was told to toy with Anakin by Palpatine if he took it seriously after Anakin tapped into the dark side I believe Dooku would’ve still bested Anakin and Dooku is stronger than Maul but the difference between Maul and Dooku wouldn’t be that much so I think Anakin would lose to Maul.
It’s too bad that Maul didn’t just reveal to Ahsoka that Palpatine = Darth Sidious. He was trying to persuade her to join him, that information may have helped her to change events
Maul did not necessarily want to kill Anakin. You forget that he thought he would meet Kenobi in the sewers not Anakin. Because thats how it would have played out Kenobi being the master would have been in that position not Anakin. Maul wanted to tell Kenobi of Palpatine’s plan for Anakin so that it could have been avoided. Anakin could have been kept from Palpatine while the rest of the jedi order including Yoda and Kenobi confront Palpatine. Anakin did not need to be killed.

Anakin has already proved he would have been up to the task if he was by himself against those odds. He would have just force pushed them all at the same time against the wall and then quickly take out maul. Hes way more powerful than he was when he forced the brother and sister of the light and dark side down to the ground. He was the guy they always sent in to do the hard impossible tasks, so maul and those few mandalorians wouldnt have been a problem, if he wanted to prove a point he could force all of them to the ground easier than he did those mortis twins. This is season 7 and hes way more powerful than he was in season 3 when he did that act.
I think the goal was to either lure them both to Mandalore and then when order 66 happened, anticipated the clones would kill them, and /or join in the battle and try to kill them. At least for Obi Wan.
I think you need to rephrase the title to ‘How Anakin would of killed maul’ as it is mentioned that Anakin would of demolished maul in seconds by his Padwan as she has obtained the training and experience of fighting her Anakin and therefore knows how much of a skilled fighter for herself to make a conclusion off saying that maul would not stand a chance
If ahsoka join mual they probably would've use order 66 to wipe out most of the jedi, then train theirselves to become stronger on the dark side of the force. They will both kill vader then overthrown palpatine, get rid of the remaining jedi, then both mual and ashoka have to fight each other to the death. Finally one of them is the true ruler of the galaxy.

I mean, all Maul needed to do is get Anakin to Mandalore. Then Palpatine probably would be dead as Mace Windu would be killing him at that moment. Or perhaps palpatine escapes, but either way, the whole plan changes at that point. Also, I don't think Maul is actually that strong anymore. Ahsoka and him seemed to on the same level especially with that last fight.
I mean remember the situation Ahsoka was in, she chased the clones to end up surrounded by Mandalorians at every corner blasters pointing at them with a Sith Lord distraction. While I think 1v1 Maul lost in this episode if he hadn’t changed his mind/talk until the clones came he could have killed Ahsoka right there, you can’t deflect 8 shots coming at you at the same time at 8 different angles, order 66 proves Jedi can’t win when outnumbered there’s no reason this wouldn’t be the same for Anakin. As such I think he would have killed Anakin+Obi was through the same trap as he put Ahsoka in (and I’m sure Anakin would fall into the trap being very similar to Ahsoka and obi wan would definitely chase him. So assuming he didn’t let hate/arrogance blind his judgement he could definitely have killed them through outnumbering them. But if you look at it as Maul alone then nope. On his own I don’t think he could beat Obi wan or Anakin alone let alone together.

In a fair fight, Maul would lose. I see no reason that he would fight fair. I don't think he used any traps he imagined against Ahsoka.
Maul's fatal flaw is his wrath and arrogance. You see that right the way from Phantom menace up to his death in Rebels. Logically, he should strive to avoid a duel with Anakin and Obi-wan and lure them into some inescapable trap. A sealed room with gas or room full of explosives or mines. Putting them under close range fire from heavy artillery or Vehicles. Having them face a huge number of Mandalorian warriors ( flame-throwers, rockets, vibroblades and flechette gun equipped) would defeat even the best Jedi.
However, Maul does not work on pure logic and it seems more in character for him to try and fail to talk Anakin or Obi-wan around using what he knows. His wrath would then get the better of him and he'd get into a duel which he would promptly lose and either A) Be captured if against Obi-wan or B) Be killed if against Anakin.
I think the fight between maul and obiwan and Anakin would be like obiwan and qui Gon vs maul where maul has the high ground and this time he didn't let his guard down and cut Kenobi in half and Anakin kill maul I know others would disagree but all my opinion

Second is that in the episode they are talking about Adia Gallia is killed and Obi Wan is on the run. Obi Wan lost the duel against Maul and Savage, but managed to hit Savage's kneecap and cut off his arm. Maul had a choice fight Obiwan alone and risk losing Savage or doing a strategic retreat. He chose the second and smarter option. Saying Obi Wan won the duel against both off them is a gross misrepresentation.

These last few episodes have been a cut above the rest. So much is good about it. The way they used night time at the end to signify the dark side engulfing everything without anyone realizing it was perfect. The sense of doom and dread approaching gives these episodes more weight and anxiety. Even the animation seems to be higher quality and the music...they used the theatrical music instead of the usual Clone Wars score, but mixing the two as well. 1,000 thumbs up!
They could do a What If series showing what would've happened if Maul did kill Anakin?
This may be too hopeful but I wish they make a 12 episode series of (Clone Wars Cartoon style or real people) Darth Vader hunting Jedi, meeting Darth Maul, and facing down a pissed off Mace Windiu alongside Boba Fett.
Maul is better in strategy then smoke. Which is why I think that if obi kenobi and anaka skywalker came to mandatory he had an entire plan to splitz them and then use goodness inside the Jedi to kill them.
Kenobi and skywalker would probably bring some clones so when the 3 fight I think maul would fake his death go in disguise as a clone and than kill or turn them from inside.

Anakin could have turned at least somewhat, then realizing that Sidious was truly behind the CW and his plot to rule the galaxy; took advantage of Maul's weakness or fear of Sidious, thus attempt to flip Maul into thinking Anakin was his best path to staying safe. In all likelihood Anakin may have just taken Mandalore and even the Darksaber.

Maul is more powerful than both Anakin and Obiwan, he obviously wouldn't he able to 1v2 them, but would be able to 1v1 both Anakin and Obiwan. What people don't realize, is that when Maul and Savage fought Obiwan, Obiwan is the master of form 3, the defensive form, and targeted the weak link, Savage, because of his mastery of form 3 he was able to survive and cut off Savage's arm, Maul then wanted to save his brother, so he simply force pushed Obiwan away. When it comes to Maul dueling Anakin, it would definitely be a hard battle, but I believe that during ep. 3 was still more powerful. Also, Maul never reached his full potential, he was thrown away by Sidious before his training was complete, and you simply can't learn the rest just by yourself. If Maul reached his full potential, he would easily defeat the like of Mace, Obiwan, Dooku, Anakin, Vader etc. Many people think Maul is weak in the force, on the contrary, he is extremely powerful in the force, when it comes to his midichlorian count, it's somewhere in the range of 15k-20k, like Dooku or Mace, however, he has even higher count then them. Maul would be easily able to use the hardest force abilites, but he doesn't, because he uses the force in a different way, he like to fight someone directly, not by destroying them with the force.

So true! It just dawned on me after reading your comment. I was wondering why he didn't want to be captured by the Jedi so badly, as I'm sure the Jedi would have kept him locked up but not tortured, etc. But behind the Jedi was Palpatine and of course Maul knew very well about his former master's alter ego... Palpatine would have had him tortured and killed for sure. There would be no escape for him the second time and no mother talzin or nightsisters to run to for help or protection since Talzin and most of the other nightsister warriors had long since been killed.
Trek Star Sam yea, basically and knowing palpatine. His torture methods are slow and cruelty rather then quick and painless. Palpatine would have made maul feel everything bit of his force lightning. Behind the scenes when people aren’t looking. Palpatine holds grudges for sure. He always has, he never forgets the people who mess his plans up. After all palpatine was almost ready to ditch Anakin after losing to kenobi and being burned alive. The only reason he didn’t ditch anakin was because he would have to find a new Apprentice. And all that time of deceiving and groom Anakin would have been for nothing. Now imagine what palpatine would do with maul. In legends, palpatine tortured the Death Star engineer that made the Death Star and then preceded to clone him over and over just so palpatine could torture him again.

Yes, and I very well remember reading about how he would clone and torture and kill the DS engineer repeatedly for his own amusement. However if Anakin had died on Mustafar, I think the Emperor would have sought out Maul again to do his dirty work. He would be much less work controlling as he already was strong and needed no additional training or "hand holding" like a younger, far less experienced force user would. Palpatine got lazy once he became the emperor and spent most of his life to trying to achieve immortality. He didn't have time to do any grunt work and go track down and kill Jedi. Unpopular opinion: I think Maul would have a stronger chance of beating Anakin alone than people give credit
- Maul wanted to isolate him in the sewers with the Super Commandos
- Maul's Form VII combat style is equal to Anakin's Form V style, but factoring in the super commandos may change that
- Maul at this time is in his prime, he is more skilled and experienced than he has ever been.
- Maul was able to contend with General Grievous, as well as Mace Windu and Aayla Secura at the same time (Son of Dathomir)
- But most importantly, Maul would know the fate of the galaxy would be on the line in this fight. He would put it all on the line knowing what is about to happen if he fails. I feel his sheer will and determination would be able to tip the scale just enough
And yet obi wan beat him and savage by himself, anakin has surpassed obi wan and skill and power, only reason he lost to obi wan was because they knew each others style and obi wan took advantage of Anakin's arrogance.
We also have to remember, obi wan beat maul when he was a padawan, and another padawan/Knight, ahsoka, also beat him fair and square.

Not to mention taking Ahsoka's line with a grain of salt, she mentioned that anakin could have beaten maul, and i believe her, when fighting an opponent you can generally gauge their skill, and if ahsoka was confident enough in her own abilities to see the flaws in maul's style, and knowing Anakin's skill and style, I think it isnt merely a jab meant to undermine, but also has a layer of truth to it.

I low-key think that Obi-Wan would've sided with Maul considering the situation with Palpatine staying long after his term has expired, but the outcome would've been different. I could see Obi-Wan deceiving Maul so he has an opportunity to defeat Darth Sidious while saving Anakin.

The only real way I could see Maul kill both Anakin and Obi-wan is if Maul somehow knocked Obi-wan out of the fight and went all out on Anakin. Since this fight would've take place around the same time as Anakin would've killed Dooku, Maul wouldn't of been provoking and taunting Anakin, tempting him to use the dark side, Maul would go for the kill right away, not holding anything back like Dooku did.

If you are the superior fighter and throw the fight, you don't end up with both your hands effortlessly sliced off. Also, Dooku>Maul. Anakin later on in a comic absolutely ragdolled Ventress and would've killed her with ease the instant he got angry and stopped being distracted (Look up how Anakin got his scar). Uh, when was Dooku using Force lightning during his lightsaber duel with Yoda? Oh wait, he wasn't. Dooku only used Force lightning in their little Force battle beforehand. Dooku then states that their battle would be decided with lightsaber skill.
Sidious didn't tell Dooku to hold back. He told him to provoke Anakin to use the Dark Side. That's a vast difference. Then, from Dooku's POV, Dooku got obliterated as soon as Anakin tapped into the Dark Side. That is a fact. Besides, if Dooku was so superior like you believe, he wouldn't have gotten both of his hands sliced off while throwing the fight. Also, the last time we see Anakin and Dooku fight on screen in the Clone Wars show, Anakin nearly kills Dooku who resorts to blasting Anakin away with Force lightning and that still didn't end the fight. All of the facts go against your side which is entirely headcanon.

Maul was going easy on Ahsoka like Vader was in ESB. Remember when Maul was kicking obi wans ass in that 1vs1 they had. He had to attack savage to escape. However, maul was not planning to duel skywalker, he was gonna use deathwatch to kill him in those tunnels. Then probably kill kenobi himself.

At this point in the timeline Maul can beat Kenobi 1v1. Obi-Wan outright says "we're outmatched", and the time he has to fight 2v1 he uses SAVAGE as leverage to escape, not beating Maul himself. Kenobi killing him so quickly in Rebels was an entirely different set of circumstances, which I could write an entire essay on but won't right now.
Maul VS Skywalker is a seriously close matchup. In my opinion, one of the greatest hypothetical matchups in all of Star Wars. It would be blindingly fast, furious and brutal. Anakin would eventually win, but Maul would NOT make it easy for him. It would be arrogant of Maul to think he could take both Anakin and Obi-Wan at the same time, though. Quite apart from the fact that both of them are tough opponents on their own, their teamwork and synergy pushes it over the top.
well, maul is already one of the most physically skilled duelists on the dark side. very capable. he never uses force lightning or the force. he is limiting himself constantly. don't think this makes him win guaranteed, but he always relied on his anger only to fight and could've become much more if he embraced the force more so.

Perhaps Maul could’ve found a way to kindle Anakin’s anger and dark side tendencies similar to how Dooku did. If Dooku was able to kindle Anakin’s rage in their final fight, perhaps maul could’ve driven Anakin’s anger to a point in which, similar to his fight on mustafar, Anakin makes a fatal mistake or at the very least is injured, forcing Obi-Wan to protect him while Maul keeps up his attack. Maul wouldn’t collapse under Anakin’s barrage the way Dooku did because he is both stronger and a more well rounded fighter who has proven his capability to fend off powerful offensive barrages (Duel of the Fates, Ep. 1), allowing Maul wait for the right opportunity to strike. Even if he is only able to partially debilitate Anakin, the changing dynamic would force Obi-Wan into a poor defensive position by robbing him of his ability to move in a roving tactical retreat. Combine this with Maul’s super commandos and it’s entirely possible for him to succeed.
Additionally, Maul has proven capable of breaking Obi-Wan’s telekinetic defenses similarly and even more effectively than Dooku did in ROTS. If Maul did this and was then allowed even a couple minutes alone with Anakin, he could start taunting him with his own knowledge of Anakin’s dark side similar to Dooku. Anakin would tap into the dark side and go all out but Maul would deflect and/or evade long enough to find an opportunity, similar to Obi-Wan on Mustafar, thus achieving his goal.
Maul lost to Ashoka only because his mind was clouded by fear of Sidious.
Normally: he would beat Ashoka but not Obi-Wan and Anakin.

50/50 with Anakin. Maul would use Anakin's anger against him in some way. It's like fire vs. fire. They'd fuel each other somehow through combat.
Maul in speaking to both Anakin and Obiwan "My master was Palpatine, trust your feelings, use the force to read me, know the truth" then to Anakin, "You fear the death of someone you love, Kenobi killed me and I lived, I can teach you my secret."
Maul didn't necessarily have to kill Anakin in order to win. Sidious, in order to get Anakin, needed to be very close to him. With Anakin busy in a wild goose chase within Mandalore Maul deprives his old master of this particular detail and all he would have to do is drop hints here and there, to keep Anakin hooked (because he would have definitely been interested in discovering the mastermind behind the war and everything else). The various details, if added up, could have tipped Anakin off coupled with the pieces of info already at his disposal (namely Fives and Dooku being involved in the creation of the clones). Granted Maul wasn't aware of Order 66 but Anakin could have pieced that one
Maybe maul would've tried to finish turning Anakin instead of letting Sidious "dew it"... then have him and Obi-Wan fight while he laughed at them and waited to kill the winner.
The comments about Anakin's skill and strength are definitely valid, and those qualities should not be dismissed. But a lot of people are forgetting or failing to see just how powerful Maul is at this point, too. In Episode 1, he took on both Obi-wan and Qui-gon and pretty much won. His arrogance and need to gloat is what defeated him at the end, just as much as Obi-wan's leap (an act that should have been a warning to Anakin in Episode 3, as Obi-wan had seen that trick before. Ahem) from the pit. Anyone else, and that would have been it, but Maul was so strong with the Force and his mastery of the Dark Side that he was able to not only survive being cut in half, he was able to gather together enough droid parts to allow him to become mobile again and remain hidden from both the Jedi and Sidious for years. And he only grew stronger, as everyone seems to ignore just how casually he was able to swat away the blaster shots from Bo-katan.
Anakin had only just begun to fully embrace the Dark Side, and even then it wasn't until after he had killed all the Separatist leaders on Mustafar. Up until then, Anakin's only real moment when he touched the Dark Side was during his fight with Dooku, and subsequent execution of him. He just doesn't have anywhere near the experience at using the power of the Dark Side that Maul does. Anakin is, however, the better lightsabre duelist, so he's got that going for him, but he still suffers from that one major weakness that's always plagued him: his cockiness that there's no situation he can't get himself out of. Maul's defeats have embittered him, for sure, but he also recognised that he has limitations so he's not above using help or tricks when needed to be victorious. Anakin, however, thinks that while help is always welcome, in the end he doesn't really need it and can get things done on his own.
So, had Maul succeeded in luring Obi-wan and Anakin to Mandalore when he wanted, he would have had the advantage of: far more experience in the Dark Side than Anakin, far more strength in the Force than any opponent Anakin had faced up until then (yes, I'm convinced Maul was leagues above Dooku in his strength and mastery of the Force), a mind that is used to tricks and tactics beyond just fighting with a lightsabre, and an army of Mandalorians who were salivating at the thought that they would go out in a battle that hadn't been seen by Mandalorians since the war against the Jedi. He'd have to separate Anakin and Obi-wan, of course, or he's done, but once that happens the fight against Anakin is far less certain in outcome than what many are thinking. Anakin's arrogance, Maul's strength and skill, and the large number of highly skilled warriors whose idea of a good time is dying in battle all combine to make things look very dire for Anakin.

I feel like Anakin would crush Maul. He would remember how Maul killed Qui-Gon, so Anakin would use the Dark side. Dooku managed to coax him into using the dark side, so remembering how Maul killed his former master would set him off.
You got to give Maul more credit in a fight against Anakin because they both have offensive fighting forms. Obi Wan only won against Maul because he is a master of Soresu and he was just waiting for Maul and Savage. I think it would be a pretty even fight between Anakin and Obi Wan vs Maul and the Mandalorians.

Could this show how clones like Jesse or just Jesse alone viewed the Jedi as hypocrites and viewed them as going darker which made them with the enactment of order 66 execute the Jedi without no feelings or regret. You're all overestimating Anakin and underestimating Maul. I don't know if Maul would manage to kill him, but it's going to be very close. They were both quite even in terms of skill and speed, but I think Maul had the upper hand in terms of agility and mobility, if only slightly. He was also a little bit stronger physically, and a little better martial artist, and even though both were mentally unstable at that point, I feel Maul would have it easier to fuck up with Anakin's mind than the other way round. Anakin might have the advantage in terms of Force power, but it shouldn't be by a large margin, so that wouldn't be a important factor. Anakin was outstanding, but he wasn't in Yoda or Sidious league. He defeated Dooku not by being a much superior fighter, but because Dooku's form 2 had a lot of issues against Anakin's form 5, and also because of his old age he had less stamina and was more vulnerable to strong physical attacks. Maul wouldn't have that issue against him.
If Maul gets overconfident, he's fucked. But I think he would be focused because he would've already been aware of Anakin's skill and power. So in a 1v1, with no plot armor involved, he should have a good chance of defeating him.
Agreed. Maul has trained longer than Anakin, but Anakin is gifted in the force. It would be 50/50 in my opinion.
I don't think that Maul ever planned to turn Obi Wan. Obi Wan had hurt him too much, made him lose his favored status with Palpatine, his mind, his life, and everything else for so many years. Maul REALLY hated Obi Wan and wanted nothing more than to hurt him and take everything and everyone he loved away. Killing Anakin would hurt not only the emperor's plans, but also would have been yet another harsh blow to Obi Wan himself, because had Maul accomplished that, he would have been responsible for the deaths of Obi Wan's master, lover, AND student/best friend. That would have been the ultimate blow to Obi Wan who raised and loved Anakin like a protective older brother. There is no way Obi Wan EVER would have joined Maul, either, after he already killed Qui Gon and Satine.
Maul would’ve bested Anakin because he would go all out and even if Anakin tapped into the dark side I don’t think it would be enough because Maul has more experience in the dark side than Anakin. And don’t forget the only reason Count Dooku lost to Anakin because he wasn’t taking it seriously he was told to toy with Anakin by Palpatine if he took it seriously after Anakin tapped into the dark side I believe Dooku would’ve still bested Anakin and Dooku is stronger than Maul but the difference between Maul and Dooku wouldn’t be that much so I think Anakin would lose to Maul.
It’s too bad that Maul didn’t just reveal to Ahsoka that Palpatine = Darth Sidious. He was trying to persuade her to join him, that information may have helped her to change events
Maul did not necessarily want to kill Anakin. You forget that he thought he would meet Kenobi in the sewers not Anakin. Because thats how it would have played out Kenobi being the master would have been in that position not Anakin. Maul wanted to tell Kenobi of Palpatine’s plan for Anakin so that it could have been avoided. Anakin could have been kept from Palpatine while the rest of the jedi order including Yoda and Kenobi confront Palpatine. Anakin did not need to be killed.

Anakin has already proved he would have been up to the task if he was by himself against those odds. He would have just force pushed them all at the same time against the wall and then quickly take out maul. Hes way more powerful than he was when he forced the brother and sister of the light and dark side down to the ground. He was the guy they always sent in to do the hard impossible tasks, so maul and those few mandalorians wouldnt have been a problem, if he wanted to prove a point he could force all of them to the ground easier than he did those mortis twins. This is season 7 and hes way more powerful than he was in season 3 when he did that act.

It’s quite simple. He wanted the clones to turn on them both.
I wish if Anakin and Maul ever interact each other he would say that he was responsible for killing Qui-Gon jinm the only Master he ever cared about.
I mean, all Maul needed to do is get Anakin to Mandalore. Then Palpatine probably would be dead as Mace Windu would be killing him at that moment. Or perhaps palpatine escapes, but either way, the whole plan changes at that point. Also, I don't think Maul is actually that strong anymore. Ahsoka and him seemed to on the same level especially with that last fight.
Palpatine would wreak Windu. After doing that, he'd execute Order 66, while traveling to Mandalore to defeat Maul and turn Anakin to the dark side.
I mean remember the situation Ahsoka was in, she chased the clones to end up surrounded by Mandalorians at every corner blasters pointing at them with a Sith Lord distraction.
While I think 1v1 Maul lost in this episode if he hadn’t changed his mind/talk until the clones came he could have killed Ahsoka right there, you can’t deflect 8 shots coming at you at the same time at 8 different angles, order 66 proves Jedi can’t win when outnumbered there’s no reason this wouldn’t be the same for Anakin.
As such I think he would have killed Anakin+Obi was through the same trap as he put Ahsoka in (and I’m sure Anakin would fall into the trap being very similar to Ahsoka and obi wan would definitely chase him.
So assuming he didn’t let hate/arrogance blind his judgement he could definitely have killed them through outnumbering them.
But if you look at it as Maul alone then nope. On his own I don’t think he could beat Obi wan or Anakin alone let alone together.
