What would be more heartbreaking? Rex had no choice and kills Cody. And THAT'S how the writers can canonically answer the question "what happened to Cody after order 66"
I think what will happen is that: Palpatine will try and call Order 66 on Rex. But since Rex doesn't have his chip anymore, Palpatine realizes he doesn't execute 66 and immediately hangs up. Rex warns Ahsoka a few moments prior before Palpatine calls Order 66 on Presumably another trooper who is in the Venator, then Order 66 occurs.
I remember back in Season 5, so many of my friends and many fans online were soooooo skeptical of Maul’s return. “He got cut in half it’s impossible” or “it’s just lazy writing” etc etc. little did any of them know Maul would end up becoming one of the best things about Clone Wars and THE best thing about Rebels. Filoni worked his magic with Maul more than anyone else, and that including Ashoka, Anikan, and Obi-Wan when it comes to character development and depth.
I think it' a rather huge assumption that Maul and Sidious will see each other, let alone have any sort of conversation. Palpatine probably doesn't call up every individual clone, or even every clone commander. It's far more likely that he sent out one transmission that was relayed to the entire clone army. Maul will likely have his hands full trying to escape, rather than stopping to have a conversation.
He didn't want to take him out at that point though. If he killed him there then minimum he'd have to actually fight the war with the Republic. Grievous might also betray him, and mother talzin would probably be able to overpower dookus force lightning.
In Rebels, Maul asked Ahsoka if she was going to run away again. My guess is she might go to interrogate Maul, only to learn he escaped. As she chases after him, the clones receive the command to execute Order 66. Ahsoka will chase Maul for a while before finally catching up with him. Suddenly she's struck with a massive disturbance in the Force; Maul senses it as well. She demands Maul tell her what it is, and he responds that he already told her; and now it would be coming for her. As the clones arrive, she smugly gives the order to have Maul taken back into custody. But to her shock, the clones take aim and fire at her. Ahsoka barely evades their fire and escapes out a window. The clones charge after her, completely ignoring Maul.
I love how maul is so scared of anakin as he knew both him and dooku were just puppets as anakin was who sidious was really wanting and after, also loved how Assoka when fighting maul says that if anakin were here hed not last very long
No I highly doubt Palpatine will even see Maul. The only one he spoke to directly was Commander Cody and the rest were simply copies of that same message going to all the other clones at the same time. So I can 100% confirm Palpatine will not see him using the hologram.
I was a soldier, not a murder of the innocent. Even now I wonder what the point of the war was, or why my brothers had to die. But my past doesn’t define me, my strength is an illusion, my calms hide a storm, and my innocence isn’t ignorance. But the moment I think of giving up, I have to think of the reason I’ve held on for so long. Just to see their faces (Anakin/Ashoka) one last time.
If Sidious sent a single “Order 66” message to the clones, then it will be a broadcast and there would be little to no chance that he sees the recipients replying. He’d need to receive back thousands or millions of replies, which would be funnier than the Robot Chicken escalator scene. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see them interact again, but I can’t imagine how that would be possible in the context of a singular broadcast to millions of troops.
CJ Ruybalid True, and I thought I remembered that too, but it does seem unlikely that he sent out individual messages to all of the thousands of clone commanders that must exist in the GAR. At any rate, I suppose we’ll see very soon! I can’t wait!
What I don't understand is if Order 66 is implanted in the inhibitor chip as opposed to say, the clones being in on the master plan, then why when Sidious appears to them via hologram aren't they going "Hey who the hell is this guy?" its almost as if they're expecting him to contact them.
I'm calling it now, Ahsoka will be forced to kill Jesse (unless Maul gets to him first) and maybe a few other clones during Order 66 but can't bring herself to kill Rex. She will help Rex get the control chip out of his head and they'll escape.
I honestly don't think Sidious and Maul will meet during O:66, since that "Execute Order 66" message seems to be a GAR-wide broadcast (sort of like a Holonet version of a CC'd email, send it to one clone, and it's sent to all of them) Otherwise it would take hours for him to issue that same order thousands, if not millions of times. And as we see, he only sends it once, to Cody, so i'm thinking he put it something like this: "Commander Cody, the time has come. *switches to GAR-wide frequency: transmitting to all clones* Execute Order 66", so, with that in mind, i think it is HIGHLY unlikely Sidious will see or speak to Maul, however, Maul will see the transmission, of course, and know what's happening.
There’s still time for Maul vs.Vader. Make it a force vision experienced by Maul while he is unconscious. It could be the greatest five minutes in all of Star Wars.
I doubt maul and sidious will see each other over hologram. Sidious personally contacted cody cause he was the clone commander for Obi wan, and he wanted to get rid of him *FIRST* so he wont be a bother for Anakin. The rest of the clones received a pre recorded message. So maul might see sidious' message, but sidious wont see maul
When Sidious transmits order 66 to the clones, he would do so simultaneously to all the clones. So I don't think it would be a two way transmission where he can see all the clones that he is transmitting the message to. Therefore he would not be able to see Maul nor communicate with him in that manner.
Expect the last episode to be the longest. It’s mainly Ashoka and order 66 but we will get a few minutes on Anakin vs Obi-wan as glimpses. Our final scene should be Vader’s iconic sound and Ashoka doing her own thing. Maul WILL escape since he ran out of time to convince Ashoka on what might happen
