Maul has a soft spot for people with strong brotherly bonds...
Hello there
M K general Kenobi
in Maul's voice: *KENOBIIII*
I mean...he lost a brother in Savage so he knows the pain
@@spartan1010101 and whos fault was it that cause the loss of his brother? He should know by now that any one close to obiwan he takes results in losing some he has precious ex. His legs and his brother. All because of the need for revenge.
Love the note of “back to your brothers.” Maul respects they’re bond as brothers because he knows what it is to lose one. Honestly that’s probably the only reason he didn’t kill Jesse
So true. This episode adds LAYERS to Maul’s character
yeah,Maul is a dark side guy,but deep down i think he still has a little of those codes
Maul is my favorite prequel character for that reason, he's not a senseless killing machine, but rather a man who has emotions, and mercy at times. Such a complicated villian.
Jadon Williams exactly.
Jadon Williams he definitely has emotions, but rarely mercy. He murdered countless children to get kenobis attention.
Maul saying “Uh one of you might want to deal with that” made me laugh harder than it should have.
JAN2MARS honestly
JAN2MARS Arent those his men too? lol
@@nbalongboi9738 He already knew the battle was lost, and had abandoned Mandalore. He just needed a bit of time to either convince Ahsoka to join him and kill Palpatine or get off planet before order 66.
Same lmao
"Oh, yeah, there's this insignificant shit going on outside. Can one of you (meaning Bo-Katan) leave and deal with this nonsense? I have had a long day, and still a conversation to be had with Lady Tano, maybe a fight, who knows. Thank you very much for your cooperation, much appreciated."
You can see the difference between maul and darth maul here
Yeah mual has more emotion

I like how maul sits on the throne. Its not like how the emperor does it where he’s comfortably sitting down basking in his machinations and all that he possesses. No, mauls seems more bored or out of place, like he’s just baring the moment until he finally gets to do things.
His whole demeanor when other people besides Ahsoka are in the room is like he's incredibly not subtle about wishing they'd hurry up and leave
Bruh have you sat the way Maul is when he's first revealed? Uncomfortable af. Like offscreen you know he was constantly adjusting just trying to get into the "cool guy" pose

His lower half is artificial, so I don’t really see how that can bother him.

What a performance by Sam Witwer! He outdid himself with this one.
Wait. Deacon St John is Darth-fucking-Maul? I didn't even realize it was him before seeing this comment
I've always thought bringing back Maul was a cheap gimmick and strained suspension of disbelief even within the Forceful Star Wars universe, but I admit freely that Sam Witwer turned in a bravura performance in Season 7-he definitely left it all on the field.
He stole the season in my opinion.
@@kidofsteel0362 He's a great voice actor in general not to mention a huge Star Wars Nerd.

1:25/1:29 Maul: "Don't stay on my account. Will be fine." That was hilarious.
we'll
Damn it.😜
Can u explain what that means please
This arc made Maul an even more solidified character, seeing that in the earlier season of the wars, Maul is still a reckless killing machine but now he’s more of a negotiator, merely a Sith monster that he was before, now a more cunning and calculated warrior. He knows the weight of lost and grieve, that is why he let Jesse go. “Back to your brother”, as he said, knowing what it’s like to lose one. If this Maul is the Maul in the earlier season, He would have killed Jesse and berserk his way to escape, but after his encounter with his old master, he realized that his revenge and rule everything plot is kinda dumb, now, resorting in a more peaceful way that he still can take advantage of other people. I really like this version of Maul and how he’s portrayed at this point and in Rebels too.
That's true
Right, Rebels as a whole was meh. But I think Maul was done pretty well. He's grown so much since TPM. The ONE thing he could never change was his hate for Kenobi and we know how that ended up
He hated Kenobi but could not help but become the negotiator himself....
Ironic
I mean he WAS a solidified character ENTIRELY SO by being a fantastic character going on a revenge quest before this scene entirely but I get what you mean.
1:12 "One of you might want to deal with that." I love it. Maul has completely run out of karabast to give. He is like the danger Kierkegaard now "I looked upon the world and started to laugh, I have not stopped since."

I love how Maul is just so Chill and Sarcastic in this Scene 🤣🤣🤣
He's feigning being chill and sarcastic. The truth is, he's bordering despair to stop Sidious' plan. But yeah, his mask was pretty good here. Ahsoka couldn't tell how desperate he really was until he later started talking about his plans.
@MrDibara... I agree. Later in the Episode, Maul was so terrified and yelling like a madman. The only other time I have seen him so scared was when Sidious arrived on Mandalore.
To see Maul actually kinda calm is almost unnerving in itself.
It's so heartbreaking to see Jesse like this. He's so brave and loyal. This almost destroyed him. You can see how badly this affected him. Although when we know order 66 happens and if he dies Jesse goes protecting ahsoka and rex, not the other way around.
Jesse is more likely gonna end up turning his gun onto Ahsoka. Maul found out about Order 66 and how the clones are going to turn on their Jedi commanders/generals. He’s gonna use that chaos to escape.
I don’t think that’s gonna happen. I am very sure that Dave Filoni wants to pull our heartstrings by having Jesse activate during order 66, and then either Rex or Ahsoka has to kill him.
determinator 94 technically ahsoka isn’t a Jedi
Meercatzz That doesn’t matter. I doubt Sidious would leave any force user besides himself and Vader alive. Order 66 was not only used to ensure the destruction of the Jedi order but also to make sure that he couldn’t be challenged by anyone else.
that hurts when you watched the last Episode
You know the saddest part about all this is that Maul was trying to save everyone
wow maul has changed quite a bit
I’d imagine That’s what being tortured by a sith does
Ever since his battle with..Obi-Wan Kenobi.

he doesn’t spare jesse becuz he respects his brotherly bond with rex.
he spares him to better appeal as level headed to ahsoka-to show her they want the same things (as opposed to killing jesse and coming off as blood thirsty to ahsoka).
yup, good call
i was looking at the top few comments about maul respecting brotherly bonds and thinking about all those clones he murders using wall panels a few hours later.
@@submarineinthesky8946 I mean, the argument could be made that that was just in self defence, but let’s be honest: Maul didn’t have to be so fucking brutal about it.

I love the part where Maul tells Jesse to 'run along back to your brothers' like am i the only one who tensed up thinking that Maul would kill Jesse as he walks back to Rex and Ahsoka. Like that would have been so brutal to give Jesse hope of freedom only to kill him. I wonder if Rex would react the same as he did with Fives...
I was thinking that aswell
Oh that would be brutally cruel but he was thinking how he lost his brother.
@@iancruz6617 yeah you do have a point but due to past brutal moments of the show i completely thought that he was gonna do that but no now we get to see Jesse execute order 66 and he may meet three different ends. He could be killed by Darth Maul, killed by Ahsoka or killed later on by the empire so i kinda wish Maul had killed him to be honest
@@iancruz6617 and Maul knows what its like to be a disposable tool to Sidious
I think one reason he didn't is because he's clearly trying to get Ahsoka on his side. Killing a comrade in front of her isn't going to make her want to listen to him.
I don’t know why, but it was so funny when he said “run along, there u go”
It sounded like he was being sarcastic
0:24 This just goes to show you how easily Darth Maul could've beaten Pre Vizsla back in Season 5 if he didn't play around with him.
Maul is one of the best character
Ur right, but the reason maul held back against pre vizla is cuz he was fighting as a warrior, not a sith lord, but here he just wants to get things done, thats why he immediately stops her, also the guy who said "it took sidius to beat him" Ur also right, most jedis are no match to maul, and thats bcs he was directly trained by palpatine
@Tom Tom Dooku is a superior swordsman and force wielder than Maul
@@joseluis5055 Superior force wielder? Definitely. Swordsman? No way.
Dooku could probably beat maul, but by way of the force, not by way of the blade.
@@speedyflames7106 Maul lost blade to blade to Padawan Obi wan, and continued to lose during the Clone Wars, Dooku absolutely destroyed Kenobi everytime they encountered each other. Maul was more of an sith apprentice than a full sith Lord like Vader and Tyranus, Dooku was able to fight Kenobi and Skywalker at the same time several times while Maul couldn't even beat Kenobi with Savage's help and he lost to Ahsoka and Kanan, not a chance in hell Dooku would lose against Ahsoka and Kanan. Dooku has absolute mastery of a lightsaber and the only ones that compete with him are Yoda, Windu and Sidious at the time. Dooku has better feats and more wins, Maul loses almost every fight he is in, doesn't mean Maul isn't cool though. I like Maul more than Dooku as a character, but I hate when power levels are decided by favoritism
0:24 Kylo was praised for stopping a blast in midair but here is a true demonstration of power.
Vader during the hallway scene in Rogue One force pushed a blaster bolt directly into the same soldier who shot it. He too, is also a true demonstrator of power
I always wonder why jedi don’t use or learnt the tricks to either stop, curve or absorb plaster bullets with there hands alone. I know they did in he original cartoon clone wars 2003 but no where else cannon
Ive never see a blaster bolts curve before
Usually when we see a Force-user use telekinesis or Tutaminis to redirect blaster bolts (Vader, Ahsoka, Kylo Ren), we see straight blaster bolts. Here when Maul redirects them they’re curved; the Force is a fluid universal energy that interconnects all matter in the universe.
Troll uNeed I know about Yoda and Palpatine’s impressive feats. My comment was more to show that this was more impressive then Kylo’s feat.

Damm Maul had zero fcks to give and i love it.
Maul is very humorous in a strange sort of way.
He lost everything else, his life on Dathomir, his legs, his family, his people, and eventually his own crime syndicate.
People may argue that maul isnt the rightful ruler but he fought in ritual combat and won fair and square
Sassy indifferent Maul is my new favourite Maul

@Matthew Welch Less practical though.
@Matthew Welch
It's flashy but not really practical ( plus it seems he don't really use it in combat since he didn't use it against the redguards or the knights of ren) , Maul achieved the same result with less effort and with more blaster bolts . I think that all the advanced jedi can actually do that it's just ...why would they ?
Vader for exemple can probably do that too but between stopping the blaster fire mid air and catching it then push it directly to your opponent , I prefer to have the later .
He lets him go because he knows Jesse might execute order 66
More or less; Maul usually isn’t the type to do an act of good faith. He’s gonna use the chaos of Order 66 to escape Ahsoka’s clutches.
And Jesse did order 66
Maul didn’t know about order 66
He finally understood when Ashoka freed him but he knew nothing befor
@@EricGraham94 I think he was being honest when he said that. In this arc, he seems to be so disturbed by sidious that he seems to completely overlook the events surrounding him in favor of trying to execute his overall plan to kill anakin. So I think he saw no point in senseless killing and offered Jesse to gain ahsoka's trust
Maul didn’t actually know about order 66. When he’s on the ship later he’s just as shocked as Ashoka. He could’ve been faking it so he could escape without pissing off ashoka as he needed her on his side to escape, but I don’t see how he could’ve known about it. Only dooku, sidious and a few top kaminoans knew it’s true purpose. Who’s gonna tell maul? It would be a loose end

Definitely this scene takes place the same time anakin decides to follow mace windu and while that’s going over there maul can sense everything that’s occurring on back in courrsuat that’s why he said everything is changing now

I couldn't help it I told him everything
Rex "don't worrie Jessie as a traitor of the grand army of the republic you will just be demoted in rank and executed"
You can see Maul is not a mad sith who kills whoever. He gets what he needs and kills who are a threat.
Ahsoka taking Bo-Katan's arm at 0:40 to help her up is the sweetest thing.
How did they get so close in such a short amount of time? I feel like they should have taken a couple minutes off the last Martez sisters episode so Bo and Ahsoka's relationship could developed a little onscreen before being thrust into the siege.
Also Rex holding on to Bo’s helmet and kneeling down next to her🥺🥺
They don’t realize that they are helping a hypocrite
@@OkIPullUp2915 - Ahsoka knows Bo-Katan’s past. She herself witnessed Death Watch destroy that village on Carlac, but she had been working with Bo-Katan for a while now, and in their struggle they have become comrades.
I think also, I’m a way, their separate experiences relate to one another. Though they both left their respective communities (The Jedi Order and Death Watch) for different reasons, they were both rooted in the same foundation: they both saw their friends and leaders manipulated and broken by the very ideals and traditions they had clung to for stability.
Though Bo-Katan had been a terrorist and an enemy, Ahsoka understands the mental agony one feels when they sever old ties with something they had once given their all to uphold. And though Bo-Katan began this journey as a hypocrite, Ahsoka’s heart is still good, and that’s what allows for Bo-Katan to not only be redeemed, but transformed as well.
