Junkfood arcade uses their own closed proprietary firmware. This controller uses either Brook or Zero Delay Arcade Encoder, you can also replace it with GP2040 boards. GP2040 > Brook > Zero Delay. It's really up to you if you trust any closed proprietary firmware. Brook is also closed, but they have been the standard for a long time.
