There's a part of me that wants to upgrade one of my old arcade sticks into a leverless, and then there's a part of me that says it would be so much cheaper just to get one the many leverless controllers like this one and call it a day. I'm probably going to do both because I can't make up my mind!
I just ordered one + a magic boots adapter. Will be my first leverless controller. I've been wanting to try leverless for a long time but the brand Hitbox was kinda expensive. I was about to buy a Haute42 and then I saw this controller on Twitter lol.
Yes I've seen the Venom sticks sold in Europe. I'm not sure if the Mayflash design is just shared among multiple brands or if one is a clone of the other, but they definitely share some form factors.
@@misterkeebler, Mayflash does loan out their design. Joytron is the Korean market equivalent, but with different options. Joytron versions of the F500 come with K levers. Joytron versions of the F101, except the PC Ranger, get USB pass through. 8bitdo's first arcade sticks were the N30 (F300 body) and the FC30 (F500 body).
The Faust looks nice! I have their smaller SGF Bridget and it's pretty cool for table use. But yes I do find the bigger devices like F500 Flat to be comfortable for the lap.

My Mayflash f500 flat arrived yesterday. For some reason, the controller doesn't remember the SOCD mode from my previous sessions, I have to "input it" every single time. I play on PS4 with a magicboots adapter.
That's interesting. I haven't tried it on ps4 myself, but I don't recall that happening on ps5 (though i mostly stick to CPT/neutral). It might be worth reporting it to Mayflash to look into, in case that wasn't intended on their end. They've already put out at least one or two firmware updates, so it might be something they could adjust if they are made aware. Thanks for mentioning it though.
@MrStalyn hey it looks like they just posted a v1.03 update in the past 12 hours! Their representative made a reddit post about it. Here is a link to that post if interested. www.reddit.com/r/fightsticks/s/vnTQXZXcna
@Mehmet12348 I do not have tools for any precise latency measurements if that's what you are referring to. I did not notice any big material differences in response compared to my other all-button controllers though.
@HimeAndKune yes it does. You can either input the wingman fgc dongle into the ps5 directly, or you can insert the dongle into the usb passthrough port on the Mayflash itself. Either method works for this device.
For 30mm, I recommend looking into Haute42, specifically their T16 and M Plus models. They are both similarly sized in surface area but just much thinner, and they use larger buttons throughout the full layout. Same relative price range as well.
I prefer the size and weight of the Mayflash for lap play. I think the Haute42 is great for those that prefer a smaller or thinner device for portability/storage.
@AT-js7hg not for ps5. You either need a passthrough dongle like a Magicboots, or a converter like Brook Wingman FGC, in order to use this on ps5. You also need a converter or pad for systems like ps4 and the xbox consoles. Without a converter, you can use this device on PC, xinput, switch, ps3, and a few others like a Pi or Stean Deck.
I might get one just to support people making universal sticks. I've already got like 6 different controllers, but only 2 of them are universal, and neither of those are leverless. I want to encourage more people not bending the knee to Sony and making their devices available to everyone
I am not aware of a method as a product feature. You could disconnect the wires internally, or swap those buttons out for button plugs as an alternative.
this is the first review about the Mayflash 500 Flat, congratulations
Been waiting a long time for this pad

I been looking for one that I can actually buy for Xbox thx u for doing this video
Looks like the venom arcade stick casing, pretty interesting. Always thought the haute ones were too thin.

my favorite etsy leverless designer D: is that you
I'm not affiliated with that Etsy maker of the haute42 foam pad, but I like their product!
pretty cool looking controller
have been learning tekken on my sgf faust which i love but this seems like it would be a lot more comfortable on the lap. ty for the review!

Where'd you get that foam pad for the bottom of your haute42? It looks perfect

good review.
SOCD mode interesting
I mean, I want to play tekken 8 on the computer. Will there be any speed problems if I buy this device or should I buy it with controllers?

Wow thank you for this bro
Is it wireless on ps5. I have mine but didn’t know I needed the adapter. And from looking at the directions, it doesn’t appear to be wireless
Not wireless
This model only works thru a wired connection.
why the F would you want wireless with fighting games? do you like being hardstuck on low ranks?

Tekken 8 is my first Tekken. And I’m a Tekken king bout to be Tekken emperor. You can be good on wireless. Most guys are.

Would like gameplay of sf6 but good review
It’s too bulky for my taste Sticking with the Razor Kitsune.
The Kitsune is great, too. It is my current favorite of the thinner flatbox style designs.
DUH. That's an apples to oranges comparison, kitsune uses keyboard switches and this one arcade buttons.
While the Kitsune has it beat in terms of portability, this would be more comfortable for lap-play.
