Me neither. Tekken has a lot of weird secrets like this that it doesn't share like did you know you can chicken by buffering a KI charge instead of the appropriate button for your attack?
Also they are -5 on block as mentioned. Some players use it as if they where neutral on block. Make 'em pay if they keep pressing when getting their crouch jab blocked.
Yup, from entry to mid-level a lot of players use dickjab as a gateway into FC mixups (most of the time cuz they're too scared to go into crouch raw). This gets blown up by people that know what's up. Plus its a very telegraphed way of setting up a FC mix
If you sidestep when you have frame advantage (which is when most people tend to crouchjab you anyway), you actually have time to confirm the crouchjab whiff and hopkick punish.
Some characters can’t do a crouch jab with d1 because they have moves associated with that command so they have to do db1 instead while Noctis can’t do it at all
Talking about sidestepping, I think it would be a stellar idea to make vid on the 3rd dimension of Tekken that feels almost taboo nowadays. And to be honest I hardly understand or even use tekken's 3rd dimension because more often than not I put myself at great risk doing so so a vid covering it would be amazing, imo.
Amazing video by Arya, Applay, and the rest of the Blastedsalami crew. D+1 is an excellent escape tool even at higher levels if used sparingly, it shouldn't be neglected. Generic down+4 is also a really good generic tool that deserves its own video. Excuse the shameless plug, but I have made a video discussing the utility of D+4 on my channel.
It's a simple concept: you make sure that after hitting (or in some cases, blocking) your first attack, your next attack is fast enough to hit the opponent if they dare press a button. For example, you hit a jab (+8) and then do a df2 (i15). The fastest attack an opponent can do is usually i10 ignoring some rare cases. Even if the opponent tries to use their fastest attack, your attack will always win. So they are sort of "trapped" when they get hit by your jab, or you laid a "trap" for them by doing a df2 (which becomes i7, faster than your opponent's i10 move) after your jab hit them. Of course they can still use a lot of defensive options like stepping, backdash, sabaki, parry, reversal, evasive move, crush or myriads of other ways to get around it. The purpose of a frame-trap is to usually discourage your opponent from pressing buttons or challenging your frame-advantage. It won't necessarily shut every option down.
Yes, Tekken is the ONLY game I know where Backdashing and sidestepping have all rewards and no risks. And people want to buff that to bullshit levels of TTT2 😂 where you could make a homing wiff with a micro sidestep 😅
So why doesnt this game have a tutorial mode when there are soooo many different properties and options to moves and situations? Most modern fighting games have tutorial modes explaining their mechanics :( Like I appreciate the content from Blasted Salami and other Tekken content creators but Namco should not expect its community to explain their games for them for free.
I never, ever heard about that holding forward after a down jab thing.
Me neither. Tekken has a lot of weird secrets like this that it doesn't share like did you know you can chicken by buffering a KI charge instead of the appropriate button for your attack?
This opens up more pressure options out of the crouch jab on hit for me

we need to add the female version of this to our vocabulary : Clam Jam
Ow please don't?
Ditch Jab, Ditch Slap, Clap Slap, Trap Tap, Clam Slam, Groin Boink, and possibly the cutest one: Coot Boop, or Cooty Bop.
I will stop now 😅.

D, n, 1 works as well
@@LinusVanPeltx986 Wouldn't the input be FC d+1? Otherwise, neutral could technically be confused into a WS move (WS+1 in this case).
Xiaoyu players out here with d2 lmao
@@MickeyYeahbaby absolutely, you're right
That's just my hint to how make it faster
@@LinusVanPeltx986 you have to be holding down for at least 6 frames to be able to dick jab from full crouch

I love using Anna's auto low crush launch (CJM) for crouch dash spammers. I intentionally bait them

+6 in standing. WHAT
Now I will eat freaking hwos alive. Thank you.
Hwo players have a hard time dealing with this while pressure kicking u so it helps ruin their rythmn
Unless they sidestep after you low jab. Then you may get blown up again
@@loto7197 Probably, but most Hwo i've verse use alot of aggressive pressure so using a crouch jab disrupt there pace.
