Some minor corrections and clarifications: 08:4510:3511:25 Most moves in Tekken do 107-110% damage on standing opponents. Fast moves like jabs are about 107, and slower moves like Bryan's b+1 are towards the higher end (110-ish). Powercrush and Rage Arts do 100%, however Rage Arts seem to have some additional scaling on top of this, perhaps also related to move speed. Results are quite inconsistent, and unfortunately it seems impossible for now to get empirical data on the values. 09:01: Add Alisa to the list of i13 high Rage Arts. 09:52: Eddy's Rage Art was just patched not to break walls and balconies anymore. Apparently this was never intended. 11:11 Low jabs start crushing at the 4th frame, not 5th.
Thank you again for another great video, this channel is producing the highest quality tutorials for Tekken I've found so far. Only other person who comes close is MainManSwae. Every time I watch one of these videos it feels like I am shaving off months of work when it comes to understanding a lot of these concepts and systems.
Glad you made this I was arguing on another video about a year ago that you couldn't crush a mid but you could duck or evade it. Wish I had your video editing skills.
I've noticed sometimes with characters with rage arts that make them jump, e.g. M. Raven, Lili and Eliza, if they rage art when the opponent does a high crush, the rage art will go straight over their heads.
Most impressive, I found zero mistakes. Great editing and everything. Only things wish you had included were Yoshimitsu's RA ub1+2 damage reduction and numerous active frames as well as Alisa's RA's numerous active frames. But regardless this is without a doubt the best Tekken Tutorial I have seen.
special mids are lows or mids, which can be blocked standing or ducking. duckjabs are lows, which can be blocked standing for example and can be either lowcrushed or lowparried. akuma's shoryuken for example is considered a mid, which can be blocked ducking, which cannot be crushed by lowcrush moves or lowparried
13:04 it has nothing to do with kara moves, it's literally called animation blending, it's used to make animations transition more smoothly as commonly seen in many other games outside of fighters so it probably affects evasion because kekken is a 3D game that uses hitspheres that are tied to the body instead of handmade hitboxes "kara exploits" exist in SF as a byproduct of trying to add leniency to multi-button moves (such as throws) by making most moves cancellable after the first startup frame with an higher priority move (throws, specials). DOA used a different method to achieve the same leniency: adding 1 frame of "delay" which waits to see if you actually wanted to press P+K instead of P. Kekken has no leniency there, that's why multi-button moves need to be frame perfect (and it does indeed feel clunky as shit). also, can't crouch tackle throws because they're mid, and lows (and throws?) can't interrupt the armor of running shoulder, they should've probably been mentioned but kekken is full of exceptions it's impossible to remember all of them lol
Steve guide coming up next week after the Jin guide! For now there's this: docs.google.com/document/d/1kYWy8Axt7oHsvltEkzyB_Ysfn0mqkNJgUrLyOPvcS14/edit Though I will be updating it soon.
13:55 but off course, why get angry? This can happen 5 times during match and as a result lose the entire match. Why is there a reason to be angry? Not like it’s a waste of time or anything? Right?
noctis "down, 3" move makes him invincible to high and mid attacks from my experience, its extremely useful to bait players even pros fall for it especially when followed up with 2,2 or 1,2
Wait, so you tell me combo strings are not as stingy with frame perfect inputs as in Street Fighter, as animations blend together to some extent? Is this purely aesthetic or like a animation cancel for the last few frames?
It's a bit of both. The movement animation is cancelled into the move, and the move also takes on some of it's properties in a bid to make the transitions look more organic and natural. As a result they also become subtly more evasive in certain situations.
@@AleksTheLittleOne not sure how many frames king's hop kick is though since I mainly play with jin though and I usually respond back with another hop kick after a block 🤔 or a 10f launch punish
"Sometimes hitbox/hurtbox interactions can be kind of wacky" okay, but when it's the final round and the camera does that zoom in and slowdown thing, you feel even *more* cheated.
Well that's just full body invincibility. A new concept to Tekken but I think as we see more meter dependent characters, possibly in TxSF, this will warrant a section to itself. Maybe on a future tutorial vid :)

Yes it is! Cheers.
"Claudio's DAH! Lars's DYEAH"
I died XD
Lwazi_NK47 4:12 You're not the only one! 😂😂
how to punish claudios DAH move ? i get beaten all the time when opponent do this annoying move
Aleks ƬHeⱲΩLF Jab him out of it or use a Power Crush. It's -13 on block.
I've been playing for years and I've just learned about animation elasticity. This saga just keeps on giving. It's a lifetime of learning.
It's called a crush because in real life they also don't connect when you hit on them
Underrated comment.
Tech Ken
Your editing makes these so nice dude.

The best informative Tekken Channel ALIVE.
Nate Zen Yeah, along with TheMainManSWE and Frame Whisperer Tekken

Cheers man! For now please check out the written guide: docs.google.com/document/d/1HAqCk5M_xbK8A-YVcyYwnOfCxa4EF52Y7VID3C_H4l4/edit#
That Blasted Salami Thanks so much man, I'll check it out now. Are you eventually going to release guide videos for all characters?
Glad you made this I was arguing on another video about a year ago that you couldn't crush a mid but you could duck or evade it. Wish I had your video editing skills.
Cheers man! Glad you liked it.
brilliant tutorial , awesome work in helping new and veterans alike.
keep up the good work bro
This was a great video, so well put together and informative. All the examples were great. Good work, keep it up. Tekken community appreciates it.
I've noticed sometimes with characters with rage arts that make them jump, e.g. M. Raven, Lili and Eliza, if they rage art when the opponent does a high crush, the rage art will go straight over their heads.
Man this video is so freaking good! Very informative even for veteran players. Liked and subscribed.
Very interesting and informative, answered a lot of questions I had.

This is good. This explains y I get hit by lows when it looks like my jab is going to connect.
I feel like this should be part of the game. I started T3, ... but I feel like the Tekken series in general are very difficult on the newcomers.
I also get confused by Claudio's DAH and Lars' DYEAH.
Great tutorials for a newbie to Tekken 7. Really learned a lot, and here's hoping I can apply them properly. Time to train!
Excellent video, super informative with perfect examples in regular and slow-mo.... Love your work buddy.
Awesome, I learn so much from your Videos. Can't wait for the Feng Guide.
I watch this video like... 5 times now
Love it.
Looking forward to a new video plsss

Amazing and very informative
Thanks for making best videos guides for tekken 🙏
Thank you for another TekKEN video! LOL
great video I've been playing since 2 and this content is great for any player of any skill 😀
2:25 Look at Lars's torso. I love model breaking techniques.
Thanks for the Tuts namco didnt provide fam!
Real shame huh? Glad we could help!
nice you got yourself a fan can't wait for the jin breakdown..... also looking foward to some more advanced stuff
3rd Strike players are on the way.
Finally good information for Tekken.
6:08 No way I tested it, try Bryan's f+2,1,4 and record a Rage Art in practice , you will damage different when it is a punish or hitting the Rage Art
Mids can also be crushed like Josie butterfly edge.
Great Video Man! thanks. casually play tekken 3 and 5 with friends. Trying to learn the new Tekken.
"there is no slowdown when hits are absorbed"
*shows two pretty clear examples of slowdown when absorbing hits*
Knew I was gonna learn something new. Thanks
We need a updated video like this for tekken 8 😂
13:04 it has nothing to do with kara moves, it's literally called animation blending, it's used to make animations transition more smoothly as commonly seen in many other games outside of fighters
so it probably affects evasion because kekken is a 3D game that uses hitspheres that are tied to the body instead of handmade hitboxes

I need that Steve guide ASAP. Please I beg you, help another sighthound brother out

If something wacky happens, make sure to e-mail Harada
Very helpful as usual!

Yay new video! when the next stream on twitch? :>
About to start streaming very soon! :)
You guys could also do a tutorial on keep away.
The best part about this is the Tekken 5 music
Please make more of this
like Anti tutorials
Anti-strats are coming along with the character breakdowns.
That Blasted Salami oh nice
noctis "down, 3" move makes him invincible to high and mid attacks from my experience, its extremely useful to bait players even pros fall for it especially when followed up with 2,2 or 1,2
Yo Also Kings D+!+2 mid crushes some moves...
Thank you, if you did this for T8 I'd love you.
how do we know this? where can we find this information?
@That Blasted Salami You get rage at 44 health, not 42 health.. minor nitpick..
love your video even i not quite understand your explanation. (maybe because im so stupid)
keep up good work. looking foward to your next video.
Kamenrimau you're not stupid. Tekken is just a hard game to learn. Keep practicing 👍
Thank you, and no not at all you're not stupid. Tekken is a complex game, it takes a while to understand all the jargon.

Great video! One question: the slo-mo 3rd Strike shot at 13:06, what is this illustrating?
btw 7:15, very satisfying XD
Will you cover like the insane rare stuff like chickens?
Susano' o search avoiding the puddle he made a video about that pretty recently
Hey when can we expect another character tutorial ..? Been a while since you posted
Kazumi will be up tomorrow :)
That Blasted Salami good to know anyways waiting for lee..(kaz king lee Steve right ?)
That's right! Kazumi, King, Lee, Steve, Claudio by the end of the month.
you can punish rage arts users with a low move.
and i believe you can even low parrie lucky cloe's
Man I hate Claudio's 'Dah!' Move
David C any advice how to get rid of that during matches against him? jeezzz i hate those dah moves especially by spammers
Aleks ƬHeⱲΩLF Jab him out of it. It's -13 on block.
@@AleksTheLittleOne hop kicks are usually heavily punishable though
@@10_Bit 1,2 it works but with king i dont have many option left except this and maybe back 1 2 and thats not very good damage tho

"mid crushes don't exist"
aren't EX Shoryuken of Eliza and Akuma technically a high, mid and lowcrush moves at the same time?
Well that's just full body invincibility. A new concept to Tekken but I think as we see more meter dependent characters, possibly in TxSF, this will warrant a section to itself. Maybe on a future tutorial vid :)
Nice
4:44 There is no such thing, or there SHOULDN'T BE SUCH THING!?
Tankyou
You missed the Mid crush. #Xiaoyu #AOP
EMAILLL OUTT
How angry is too angry? I play Dragunov.
im waiting for mother russia, octopus, arab and mr.cyborg
DAH
Except in Tekken 7 you get rock, paper scissor style mid crushing moves. Probably the biggest fault with this game.
First? Finally, a new vid comes out!
