I know a lot of Jin mains might be a little upset with some of the changes, but as a Devil Jin main that probably lost his character, the changes to Jin make me feel more at home considering i couldnt make Jin work at all for me do to his lack luster oki, couldnt really get the hang of zen cancels and overall worse range with his pokes it felt like besides forward 4

Jin is the eternal millenial. But in spite of his late 90's tribal tattoos and affinity for flame print clothing - he still manages to achieve timeless appeal with his pose-heavy unorthadox karate and "rule of cool" overall design.
also note, electric cd1 also hits grounded, flips them over and has massive range but damage is the same as d2, if you do hit them while they stand up it's a launch just like heihachi's ff2 oki tool

Very fair take on the character. I am completely in love with how I think he might play in this game. Keep being fair and impartial to every characters unlike some other big streamers.
Imagine if Yoshimitsu will have strong defensive tools lmao, that would be funny, ngl. Jin though is so cool in this game. They worked really hard on him. And I like the fact that he's got some char development as well!

Hope this doesnt come across as rude but I find this more "relaxed" voice (obviously it's just during a stream) more engaging than your more forceful RUclipsr script reading voice in some of your videos that sometimes gets too intense and I end up clicking off sometimes. Others may not agree and it might be hard to replicate with a script. Maybe your metrics say otherwise. Your content is very good and useful. Again, dont want to sound like a dick. Just thought I'd add your cadence here is much more up my alley with watching content like this.
i know that tekken 8 is all about offense, but I already had trouble blocking certain attacks/strings in tekken 7. Now its gonna be even harder. i hope there's at least one defensive character in this game
they gave him a bunch of cool stuff but coincidentally either completely removed or completely removed what i liked about 2 of my favorite jin moves zen 1+2 and zen 1 3

Hoping yoshi will be in the base roster. But i can say i played a lil jin and got him up to like fujin rank and he’s really fun character. He’s difficult but seems more honest now that devil jin is kinda fused into him now
I’ve never played a tekken game super hardcore before. If i practiced combos/strings in training mode with jin in tekken 7, will a lot of my practice carry over to tekken 8? Just wondering if its worth to help me prepare, would this apply to most characters since tekken is a legacy fighter?

Never really tried Jin post T4, kinda wanna try him now but trying to learn long combos in Tekken has always been daunting for me, esp for characters I'm not too familiar with gameplay-wise

Honestly, I don't like the direction they've taken with Jin in Tekken 8. In Tekken 7, his moves were neat and controlled, reminiscent of real life martial arts. Now, his fighting style has mostly been subsumed under new bombastic visuals that barely reflect real fighting style.

Miss my df2 from 7, I always ch fished with it. Also with omen, from what I’ve played, everyone immediately jabs after the omen stance, rendering it useless on block for me. It might change, but I couldn’t even start a guessing game without being jabbed out of it lol
I hope they can add an additional input on the wall carry combo with pressing 3+4 for the grapple ender and keep the tekken 7 carry. Cause the new one is hella clunky and easy to miss based on some videos
@ThatBlastedSalami I've heard you can still zen cancel from f4 it's not safe on block anymore though. to zen cancel from zenshin you need to ss cancel the crouchdash instead of holding back

Jin is so damn cool in Tekken 8. The only things I don't like about his changes are the new animation of his Zenshin 3+4 and his Electric WHF not having a distinct hit sound effect that differs itself from the normal WHF. I prefer the old animation of his Zenshin 3+4 because the side kick animation is well-executed, and his new animation looked like a roundhouse kick while hitting with the heel. I'm gonna miss his old Zenshin 2 as well. Evasive high damage mid. Being the only character with no sidestep moves, having an auto-sidestep move was important for him. But his new Zenshin 2 is pretty cool, too. It looks similar to the second hit of Devil Jin's f+1+2.
Jin main here, overall hes def better. the biggest thing is the oki tools are HUGE and tbh the 2,4 "nerf" feels okay because as old jin main you want them to stand instead of just laying down. getting a spin and mix is kind what you want anyway. im sure alot of damage and some hit boxes will be adjusted but so far EVERYONE in the game looks amazing. Thanks Arya for the continued love for the game and the awesome videos for us that couldnt get in. Looking foward to running into you after launch :)

B1,2 is more or less Zen 1+2 spiritual successor. Zen 1,3 is still there, it just converts to a grab if 3 is hit iirc.

Others found that you can cancel zen by using UP and B just like Dragunov's sway.

You can only cancel backwards Zen with forward. The one you get from moves can only be canceled into meme eyes / sidestep.
