The Lambda and Bern thing has not been introduced into the story of Higurashi, we just have Featherine (and she isn’t even called Featherine here)
Satoko refers to her battle against Rika as a "contest of endurance". In EP 1, when Beatrice first greets Bernkastel she talks about how she defeated Lambdadelta in a previous game, to what Bernkastel replies that it was a contest of endurance, and Lambdadelta pretty much just gave up.

Anyone notice how in the loops from the original, it only shows keiichi? Again I got this theory that Satoko is purposely keeping keiichi alive in every loop. As to why I still don’t know. But it probably has to be because he is considered the miracle maker for Rika. An important piece in how she won the game in the original. Maybe she is gonna make him remember everything he did to somehow make him resent Rika in some way.because again, keiichi is extremely important to Rika. Though it’s just a theory. There has to be a reason why keiichi was the main focus.
Yup, they show Keiichi more than Rika, it was better to show others like Rika committing suicide in the presence of Shion but well, it's done.
Wait a second didn't satoko just only observe the fragments of the 100 years only not interact with it?
They use Keiichi a lot because he's the one who has the least connections with the village but is still part of it. Hence why he's perfect for the question arcs.
The girls are basically walking spoilers, which is why they aren't the main focus. Ignoring Rika for obvious reasons, Rena and Satoko spoil the Hinamizawa Syndrome, while Mion and Shion spoil the Sonozaki's secrets.
As for why he's always left alive: honestly I think he just works as a neutral witness who sees the results of that timeline. If someone else was left alive, people wouldn't trust the results at all.

I don't think it is that, Satoko made Keiichi go L5 in one of the loops in nekodamashi.
@@WolfBetter true. Actually, keiichi goes level 5 twice. Once when he was supposedly bashing teppi’s head in but it was just a hallucination, and again when he goes level 5 in angel mort and kills everyone. However, we don’t actually see keiichi die. Like ever. Even though he does get level 5 twice. The first time he get it’s he actually goes into a coma and wake up months later after Ooshi killed everyone.the second time we don’t know what happens after. But imma guess he actually does eat rika’s brain after she told him the cure was in her head lol. But then again, Satoko considers keiichi her brother, basically her replacement satoshi. Interestingly enough, when she goes to the clinic to the basement where satoshi is, he is gone. And she says goodbye when he isnt even there... was it an animation error or intentional?

Satoko is a very tragic character, actually.
-Mother was unfaithful and often married & divorced many men
-She probably doesn't even know her real father
-Aunt and Uncle treated her a slave and often beat her for anything
-Her brother is in a perpetual coma, with no chances of coming back
-Her "best friend"(closest thing to a family she has now) just used her as a pet to cope with hardships in her lfie
-Discarded by said "best friend" when she was no longer needed after "friend" made new better friends in High Society
-Loses her old home in Hinamizawa
-Deity fools her into making a deal without telling her about the death clause first and doesn't let her escape afterwards
-Realizes her last precious person will always discard her in the future
-Discovers the original time loops and her brother's tragic fate while undergoing mental damage by all the loops she was doing
No wonder she broke. Her life was rigged from the start. She is a tragedy.
Rika using that sword on her, erasing her existence, will be more like a Mercy Kill than anything.

She had Keiichi. I'm sure Rena and Mion would also spend time with her too if she asked. I sympathize with both characters but people are kind of quick to throw Satoko under the bus/truck. Technically Satoko's loops are harder then Rika's and Rika only had the will to tolerate 5 with her memory intact. Satoko also has no Hanyuu and probably had to get tortured by Shion twice. I think that explains Shion's absence in the arcs pretty sure Satoko killed Shion now.

Weird how in the old anime there were fragments where Shion kills satoko and in other fragments shion wanna rescue satoko and will legit do an illegal thing just to make satoko safe, I felt like when satoko saw all the time loops she felt like the only reason Shion rescues or tries to be nice or helpful to her is because of satoshi request, not out of its own will.

yeah i think the interesting thing is why kept Keichi alive and why dafuq are we shown more blood (then again there's just more than meets the eye good example is that bonk scene from Satoko's uncle where there's so much freakin blood but at the same time there's tiny splashes as well)
But yeah i guess it make sense why Satoko would make Keichi always alive in a sense that he's the reason why the Miracle works in the first place. So either she did something to Keichi which will make him somewhat hate Rika in a way because of the "Looping Memories" (which is yeah in specific scenes he remembers his past deeds) or like wish that against Rika which is wew tbh.

@@grimpetals she did give her "farewell" to him on the bed. She knows each fragment is real, but decided to discard everyone BUT Rika as she chases her through the fragments. So she basically threw her brother away.... and everything/everyone else... that's the implication of the scenery.

@@ominousangel7661 she probably looped a lot of times and in none of the fragments did satoshi wake up, which probably mader her resolve to go after Rika the bigger. I mean Irie warned that only cause the syndrome went away dose'nt mean that everything is suddenly ok. He is under a coma. So That might still make him unconcious or maybe he's still got big effects of the syndrome that even if he would wake up he would not be the same.
So she clings to the only one she has close to her and knows what she's gonig through being an orphan kinda, Rika. Cause the other family members she has left is not the greatest ones they hit her and starves her and as such.
So losing the only thing closest to family and looping all over probably made her get further away from her brother and getting a bit damaged. I mean we don't know what she has been repeating when it comes to the loop, and some fragments she watched first hand like a movie, she saw lots of craziness most likely and it also fucked up her already fragmented self more.
The sad thing is, i have'nt read the umineko manga or visuals, but i get the feeling the sword that early was mentioned will be used against her, i mean why hint something if it's not gonna have a meaning at some point in the story?
Ad since Satoko got her powers, i think Rika will sooner or later either have memories or better suspicions of Satoko being the culprit to all RIka's deaths. Satoko might get less careful and might maybe spoil about stuff before getting killed mcuh earlier to the point that it's a longer time before her death which actually makes her remember satoko mentioned she's a looper or something of the sorts and that might maybe make RIka search for the sword, kill her ad become Bernakestel in Umineko plot instead, due to living through killnig her best friend, being cause more trauma than 100 years?
Really curious how things will turn out, and i do wonder how they will manage to get everything necessary in a good way in such a few episodes left, if i's going to be bad i prefer they make it greater by making a season 2 if it will conclude badly.

@@fmaster99 Teppei wasn't around when she killed both of her parents, Teppei wasn't around when Satoko decided that when she has a chance to redo herself, trapping her friend was the best solution. Even after Teppei reformed, she decided to use him in Rika's torture plan. I know about the whole abused victim become abuser themselves but you are still responsible for your actions. It could never be used as an excuse for the abuser.

Were you really watching the series or are you a first time watcher with no experience of the OG? Satoko has no problem with studying, she says this multiple times - that she could do anything if she had Rika, like how she passed the entrance exam. Her problem is that Rika - the only family she has left has betrayed her and turned into someone she doesn't recognise. I hate how people chalk it down to ooooh Satoko's so dumb, she'd rather die than study - all the excuses she makes to Rika about studies when she loops are just that; mere excuses to make Rika stay in Hinamizawa.

She can. As Lambdadelta, having enough willpower, she'll archieve any goal with absolute certainty. But her willpower to study came from her desire of being with Rika, and since Rika prefered that other girls over her, there was the result.

The sad fact is that Homura at the end of Rebellion could have easily crossed the line and be no better than Satoko at the end of HiguGou. The first take of the 3rd movie with Chiwa Saito sounding like an out-and-out yandere as Homura certainly did not help matters, either.

She went from a somewhat bratty child who dearly loves her friends to a possessive sociopath who witnessed her best friend suffer unimaginable horror for over a 100 years and said, "Let's make it worse!" Because of what? Highschool drama?
The amount of shitty writing, retcons, and character assassination that had to happen to make this a thing is astounding. The author was so desperate to connect Higurashi to Umineko that he absolutely butchered his story as a result.

You miss the part where Satoko was already a bit mental from the beginning, and all the abuse she had in her life deeply traumatized her, making her cling a lot on Rika who was one of the few people left for her. Furthermore, this Satoko isn't the one from Massacre arc where she learned to fully trust her friends and grew up from her fears. And if we add the overall awful experience of her in St Lucia, it's not surprising she would turn out like this.

She's ready to brutalize and murder all her loved ones. Satoko's past doesn't quite explain how horrible she's become. It was awful, yes, but not awful enough for her to watch over a 100 years of her friend's suffering just to giggle and say, "let's make it worse!" That's sociopathy and it doesn't just magically appear one day, it develops over a lifetime which Satoko has shown no signs of. This type of mental illness doesn't just appear after one bad school, she would've been like this for years. Yet, Satoko was a kind child who was somewhat bratty who had a few bad days in school and is suddenly more evil than Hitler. That's not how humans work.

it would be akin to you or i killing all the characters in a video game because we know we can reload the save, of course, this is taken to its' extreme, but her mental state was never as stable as most other people, and she has failed at least 3 times to get rika to stay with her. so remember to toss at least about 5-6 years of additional mental age onto her current experience level, the same way that you would have to for rika.
her actions are definitely messed up, no getting around that, but she was two steps away from "completely nuts" from the start, this is taking her abandonment issues, abuse trauma, and generally unstable child mind, and amping it up with the knnowledge that "she can just reload the save"

Manga is at least showing things in a reasonable light (possibly because it just has the benefit of hindsight from the anime), anime went "nah i'm evil now and savescumming deaths like this was a TAS run" and rolled straight with it.

This episode pretty much proves that this Featherine was the Hanyuu talking with Rika in the beginning of Gou though (if you go back to episode 2, she even messes up and doesn't use Hanyuu's "boku" at first before quickly correcting herself). I'd guess the reference to Hanyuu in third person is just because that's a very different personality.

On the contrary. I believe this episode might prove that Hanyuu will come back. As Satoko asks Featherine to give them the title of "the one who lives in loops". This indicates that she Hanyuu who left Rika is not the real her, possiblity a hologram as she is glitching.

It's pretty much confirmed in Umineko that Hanyuu is a brain damaged version of Featherine though. Also Featherine is a literal omnipotent higher being so I'm pretty sure she can choose how she looks like to others.
