One of the only moments where Sayaka is really kind and gentle with Homura trying to reassure her and even compliments Homura without the latter being aware, and Homura misunderstands the situation
A complete mirror of the scene in the show, where Homura reaches out to Sayaka in a show of kindness and Sayaka misinterprets her intentions. Dooming herself in the process.
Both are Madoka best friends after all...know each other very well.

I like to think that homura wants to sayaka be happy too, In the world she created everyone has happy life, no one can enter unless an invitation, people homura knew that’s why Bebe can be only in witch form since homura never knew her human form, so yes I think that at least subconsciously homura want also make sayaja happy

I noticed something interesting, sayakas role is to remember isn't it? That kinda explains why she was the one to see and remember homura at the end of the movie while no one else was able to
Although by that logic, Nagisa should also remember too but she was oblivious in the end (unless she was just acting?)

I think that sayaka and nagisa are the only ones to remember bc they are already dead, since madoka created a new "law of cycle" and they don't become witches anymore.
but that's the point... they were witches one day, but since madoka's wish was erase all the witches, their soul jewels just disappeared and they were able to meet madoka, as they were already dead.
so they know everything precisely bc they are with madoka, who, as she said at the end of the anime, could see what had happened and what could happen
they didn't belong in homulilly's labyrinth, they should be dead
so I think that's why they know everything

This is actually a bit heartwarming. It’s basically Sayaka saying that the witch, which she knows is Homura, didn’t do anything wrong.
I mean, she takes that back later when Homura becomes the literal Devil.

Yeah, as if Homura cares about Sayaka. Anyone else remember the time when Homura tried to kill Sayaka when she refused to take a grief seed. I mean, Sayaka was being sort of dumb there, but do you really have to kill her?
Well... Cant blame both. Sayaka is madoka's bff. So saving sayaka is considered saving madoka. But.... Sayaka is just being dumb. So homura just want to reduce her burden. Then again. Sayaka cant take it all in one go. Her depression, one after another, then everything just falls down from there.
The shots of Oktavia at the end are beautiful. I never thought Sayaka could come across as so kind and so sinister. Really had me thinking about what her intentions really were before the reveal.
You can tell how Homura is surprised at Sayaka's skill. It was established that Sayaka was a fairly weak Magical Girl, and she certainly didn't have the cunning to do what she did her-or rather, that was Homura's perception of her. So to see that she matured and also powered up significantly from being able to be one shot by Homura was probably quiet the shock.
Honestly, from the two other side pieces where Mami was still alive, Sayaka becomes an outstanding magical girl. Still one of the weakest, but she improves and such.
A good example is her fight with Koyoko in the warith ark, which Homura never got the chance to witness.
i honestly dont think sayaka is a weak magical girl and she never was. Mami and Kyoko already had experience by the beginning of the show. Homura had... too much experience and Madoka had so much built up potential. Sayaka was already strong but had no experience and only grew weaker with no grief seeds. Her ability to self regenerate is extremely powerful but it's not explored too much in the main series. i like to think that the main series is very heavily reliant on homura's memory meanwhile rebellion is completely new territory to everybody which explains the shock and also the change of perception of sayaka. sayaka changed so much of course but this also made homuras perception of her completely inaccurate at this point. sayaka never got the chance to get real experience or grow like the rest of the cast, so this is what happens when she can

考えてみたら、回想だというのが分かった。視聴者に考えさせるようなアニメで奥が深いなと思う

I feel that Sayaka wasn't just commenting on Homura being self-destructive in her quest but also commenting on how much happier she is in that fake world now that she gets to be beside Kyouko again.

After watching this scene it should've been so obvious that Homura was the witch. I can't believe I didn't realize it.

By the end of Ep. 12, the universe got rewritten so Madoka never existed, thus no one (including Mami and Kyoko) ever knew her. Also, Sayaka and Nagisa died before turning into witches.
Therefore Homura, who retained her memories, should be the only one capable of creating a labyrinth with Madoka inside. This is the same conclusion she reaches later on: "If I'd stopped and thought about it from the start, it would have been obvious. To create a world where Madoka exists, someone would have to know about Madoka to begin with."
No worries. I didn't notice at all until she way over 100m from her soul gem.. And when she announce by asking "When did I become a witch"
I thought it might be Sayaka because of her witch form showing at the end and because she knew stuff she shouldn't and was defending the witch. Didn't know how it would make sense in the end, but her knowing about witches or even being there in the first place didn't make sense anyway.
Another suspect for me was Madoka. She was in charge of taking away all magical girls before they become witches, meaning she should be the only one who could possibly turn into a witch since she couldn't make herself disappear. And the labyrinth was bigger than any of the earlier ones, which would be easy for the most powerful witch. But the main reason I suspected her might be the opening showing her creating the world, which was apparently just misleading. Still works with the "witch must know Madoka" rule as well, so I didn't find out Homura was the witch until it was said. Don't think Madoka was ruled out at any point before that.
@@Vogel100 that's not true, the reason madoka is a God is because she created the time paradox of destroying her own witch because of the context of her wish

Endershock1678 Tbh, Shaft does a wonderful job at making lengthy dialogues both mentally engaging and visually entertaining. Check out the Monogatari Series or Zaregoto, they do the same as in here.
Shaft is so good at doing that in general. Monogatari, 3-Gatsu, Zaregoto, even Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei

I love how Homura and Sayaka essentially switched places at the end of the movie.
In this scene, Sayaka is asking Homura if she would be okay destroying False Mitakihara City so that she wouldn't have any regrets, and Homura responds by saying this dream world is a farce and whoever created it is turning their backs on Madoka's wish, but after realizing that Madoka wasn't really happy with removing herself from reality and that she herself created the dream world unconsciously, Homura instantly regrets allowing Madoka to sacrifice herself.
In the end, Homura fulfils her wish of saving Madoka by giving her a normal life while also preserving the salvation of magical girls. After years of playing a cruel game of fate, she's finally won... for now.
And yet Homura is still alone so she got her wish but the cost was higher than she originally thought.
Kerri-Lynn Dunne At least Nu-Madoka is an adequate consolation.
Homura only did what she did for *herself.* She forced Madoka down from grace and was condescending to Sayaka at the end. It was convenient and "better" for Madoka for her friends to be present and happy. While that is "kind" on the surface, Homura just created a cage to keep Madoka all to herself. Her love became *obsession.*

Sagittarius A* Madoka most likely didn't like being a god. She exists only as a concept that hunts witches without any real identity. Homura calls it a fate worse than death in episode 12/movie 2. Most important moment in Rebellion is when Madoka tells her she wouldn't want to be away from everyone in the flowerbed scene, which made Homura realize she really didn't want to become a god.
Another good thing to look at is Mata Ashita/See You Tomorrow (full version of episode 1 and 2 ending theme). Only really fits with God Madoka so I assume that's what it's referring to. Some lines are: "I'm pretending that I'm used to being alone. But the truth is I'm not really that strong." "With my usual smile, I conceal my true feelings."
Probably best to look at it yourself, fits perfectly with how Madoka may be feeling at the end of episode 12/movie 2. And shows that she's not really happy with this new form. (Really think it should have been used as movie 2 ending theme btw, such a missed opportunity.)

作ってるって知ってる ってわけじゃなくてほむらが魔女になる(なっている)という魔法少女の運命から解放をする為に女神まどかのお使いとしてこの世界に入りこんだんじゃなかった？

I just realized that while it is kinda bad that Homura is super dependent on her time magic but then....she doesn't have any other powers. It is literally the only magic she was given, unlike the other magical girls who can summon their own weapons plus have some secondary magic abilities too.
Edit: Due to recent comments I'd like to clarify. I am not really undermining Homura's powers here. Its only fair she didn't get a notable secondary magical abilities considering Time Powers are OP on their own and the show did a good job of balancing it. I am just saying that welp, her dependence on her powers is understandable because again its her main abilitiy and the only one she has. Sayaka's comment of "You rely too much on that magic" is stupid. Sayaka saying that is like telling Mami she relies on her guns too much or she herself relies on her swords too much to that effect.
I’m not sure about the secondary magic part.She healed her eyes with magic and cured her heart disease using magic in the original series.But I do agree with most of your points
@@Nesquik908 All of the girls are actually capable of that if they have the knowledge on soul gems as Homura did. Her being able to heal herself isn't really Homura's ability but just having a better understanding that her body is "hardware" as Kyubey puts it.

homura stopping time only for it to show oktavia’s form is so beautifully terrifying. i dont know, if i were in her steps, trying to stop someone i’ve underestimated for awhile, i’d be afraid that something that shouldn’t have existed is right in front of me. and it’s so horrifyingly presented. those colors and shadows... like it’s straight from a nightmare. i’m ngl it looks like a perfect visual for a horror game too.

what’s sad is the fact that if it wasn’t for homura’s constant time travel, everyone would’ve been dead 12 years ago if homura didn’t do anything. the reason homura and sayaka are even talking is bc of her. sayaka would never have the amount of chances she did without homura, as much as she doesn’t like her. i think here she’s realizing what homura has done. even if it’s just for madoka, she let everyone live longer than they should’ve.

@mahoushoujo maisoon I don't think that's convincing. Maybe in the first timeline, Sayaka was never meant to become a Magical girl, but wasn't in timeline 2 or 3, she became one? In that case, Madoka's potential wasn't even that big since Homura just redo the timeline for like 1 or 2 times. That isn't enough for Madoka to become the center of the universe. Her potential was still average.
Sayaka's contracting depends on things...In some timelines, she didn't make a contract, in other timelines, she became a Magical girl. In Oriko manga, she didn't even think about becoming one, even though at that time, Madoka's karmic potential was powerful enough. I don't think her becoming a Magical girl is a bait. Sayaka has always had enough potential, her happiness isn't consistent though. If she was sorrowful about Kyosuke's hand, she'd definitely make a contract, if she was content, there wasn't any reasons for her to do so.
In the first timeline, I assume that she didn't know ab Mami, but in the 2nd timeline, she knew ab Kyubey...

And the foreshadowing using the colors. Sayaka's blue symbolizes a good side and Homura's red symbolizes evil side

I'm wondering if Homura noticed any of the subtle water changes going on throughout this whole scene.
In all probability, no. Homura, while she begins to suspect something is wrong with the world throughout the film, doesn't actually seem able to perceive the labyrinth imagery the way the viewer can. Otherwise it would have been obvious to her that she was in an illusory world much earlier. Instead we see imagery that relates to how Homura "feels" about the world becoming more and more wrong around her.

One of the things I find most fascinating about this moment, and the battle against Homulilly, is that Sayaka and Bebe are both able to call upon the powers of their witch forms without losing who they are. It is only natural, since all the despair and pain are as much a part of them as any other. I really do hope that when we get Walpurgisnacht Rising, the concept of being able to channel one's witch form and power is brought up again. While Magia Record touched on this idea more, the main series has never even shown the witch forms of Mami or Kyoko.
Does that mean.... Law Of Cycle make them all receive the ability to "Grew up" and "mature"?

てか、さやかとほむらの背景が青と赤である時点で何かしらの意味があることがわかる。それに、青が人魚の魔女なのは最高の演出だよ。

in a way they(Sayaka n Bebe) didn't, they along with Madoka, Kyoko and Mami were swallowed and trapped inside Homura's labyrinth and their memories were meddled with BY Homura and her labyrinth, because even Homura didn't remember or know what was going on(aka she didn't realize she was the witch till the end)

Homura subconsciously altered the memories of everyone except Madoka, Sayaka and Nagisa who were immune due to being part of the Law of Cycles.
Madoka's own memory lost was caused by herself as part of a ploy to prevent Kyubey from finding out too much about the Law of Cycles. Madoka would act as a decoy to distract Kyubey, while Sayaka and Nagisa with their memories intact went about finding a way to save Homura and everyone else.
As you found out later in the movie, Homura's witch is kinda suicidal and wants to destroy the labyrinth inside the shell so Kyuubey can't observe the law of cycle working (and also because she thinks trapping Kyoko and Mami inside is wrong). Madoka, Sayaka, and Bebe (Law of Cycle) have two goals, which is to keep the status quo forever inside the labyrinth OR escape Kyuubey's observation and pull Homura into the cycle.

Homura is actually wrong when she said that there were three people who should not exist in that universe - there were four: Madoka herself should not be there either, as she sacrified herself.
She first thought that Madoka is not real thou and just an illusion. So she just assume that Madoka existing there is justifiable.

No, I meant Homura. Sayaka Batman exited successfully on 4:54. Homura clearly failed on the time you mentioned, thanks to a sword jamming her time stop.
It was funny and yet frustrating at the same time when the person doesn't let the other one finish talking.
It was to be expected, really.
Homura and Sayaka have always been hostile to each other. Homura in particular has probably grown tired of Sayaka's emotional instability (just how many times has she seen Sayaka turn into a witch, now? But admittedly she's much better by this movie) so she just gave up giving Sayaka any sort of consideration at this point.
