*UPDATE: This video was produced before Patrik Laine was traded to Montreal. How do you think he does with the Canadiens?

The biggest warning for the Canucks and Oliers was Columbus not taking a Fin in the draft. Columbus GM is Finish and a former scout, him passing on Puljujarvi & Juolevi in top 5 dominated by Fins should have raised red flags. Articles were written asuming who ever Winipeg didn't take between Liane or Puljujarvi Columbus would.

I so wish the Jets would've picked Matthew Tkachuk instead of Laine! I mean they picked his Dad, his Mom was born in Winnipeg. They didn't do proper scouting on all the players long-term. Laine is a one trick pony.

Tkachuk is hands down the best pick of that class. While Clayton Keller and Mikhail Sergachev rank as great choices too, only a guy with a broken sternum could motivate his teammates to win a cup the next year.
Matthews will go down in history as a great regular season goal scorer. Beyond that, hmm I doubt he'll ever rally the boys around him the way Matthew did, not Matthews!!!

    • @beyond_thebench
