    I feel like what you missed about Zegras (I’m a Homer so huge bias here) is that he’s mostly solved the holes in his two-way game, the team looks much better with him on the ice because he’s become a confident defender and a great weapon to clear the zone and take it through neutral ice. He’s definitely struggled offensively and I understand the wider consensus that he’s regressed but when he was playing this year I thought he was arguably our most reliable forward, in spite of what his stats show you. He’s not playing the same role he was in his rookie and sophomore season.

    • @sharkhaos_probably
      @sharkhaos_probably Месяц назад +1

      I think Anaheim's sort of been forcing a square through the circle hole with Zegras. Cronin is a defensive coach and I think they're sort of forcibly making him a two-way guy so much so that he's scared to play offense or something. If he ends up getting traded to a more offense-focused team I think his numbers will return to solid.

    • @nolankuffner3573
      @nolankuffner3573 Месяц назад

      @sharkhaos_probably and his defense would turn to shit.
      Sorry, but playing JUST offense isn't the same as playing JUST defense.
      If you're solid defensively, you're a key part of any team's plans.
      If you're solid offensively, you're golfing with Marner and Tavares.
      Matthews has actually gotten better defensively, but a guy like Zegras is always going to be lower rated on a bad team like Anaheim, without realizing the production isn't there because the quality linemates aren't there.
      SJ KINDA got help for Celebrini, and Chicago tried with Bedard, but the McDavid / Draisaitl thing only works when guys like RNH and Hyman are clicking. When they're off, it's almost more noticeable than when the big two are out.

    When Yzerman picked Seider, he made the pick himself as opposed to when Holland was the GM, he had his DOAS announce the pick. If you watch that video as Yzerman announces the pick, take at a look at then-DOAS Tyler Wright. Rumor had it that Wright wanted Trevor Zegras in the worst way so when Yzerman announced Seider as his pick, Wright dropped his face. While the whole hockey draft world was shocked, Wright was the only one in that entire building who was disappointed with his boss. The last pick that Tyler Wright was responsible for while Holland was his boss was Filip Zadina and where is he now? Wings could have drafted QUINN HUGHES.

    The Kappo hype was 99% driven by Rangers. If I remember correctly the only positive for taking kappo over Hughes at the time was was that Kappo could by a first or second line guy right away but people forget Hughes put up insane numbers for team USA beating Patrick Canes record with that team. There was no serious person who thought any team was taking Kappo over Hughes who wasn’t getting insanely bias info.

    3 game win streak for the Sabres! Definitely winning the Stanley Cup now. All kidding aside, it looks like Dylan Cozens and Jack Quinn have finally found their games. It was a horrendous start, but I have no doubt Cozens will get close to what he was two season ago. Bo Byam has had up and downs but looks really good next to Dahlin. Definitely the best d-partner of Dahlin’s career. Owen Power and Bo Byram are near the top of league defenseman in EV points, so maybe they aren’t as bad as people think. Definitely wouldn’t trade Cozens or Byram right now if I were Kevyn Adams. Good video btw.

    I’m a Devils fan. Kakko’s problem is he came on to a re-tooled Rangers team where he was getting 3rd line, maybe 2nd line minutes, and had an incredibly short leash. Jack came on to a bottom feeding Devils team where he was immediately given the chance to grow and fail on the 1st and 2nd lines and he’s flourished.

    Kakko was s surprise disappointment but I also blame the Rangers development, hope he finds more success in Seattle. Thought Dach sucked and was happy to see the Blackhawks fumble that pick. Byram seems quite servicable and helped the Avs to a cup should have a decent career. Turcotte is also disappointing, should've been better, surprised LA kept him even as a depth guy. Seider was an outstanding pick. Cozens is fine, he'll have a decent career. Broberg is kinda meh. Zegras is looking decent despite the injuries. I was pissed when we took Podkolzin. Should've drafted Boldy or hell Newhook or Krebs would've been safer.

    A little early for this isn't it 😆. These guys have what 3-4 seasons max behind them?! You won't know how a draft truly was until 8 yrs have passed, by then players have time to develop into their prime. Rarely does a player start off at their best out of the gate, and the ones who do, usually fall off fast and have 3-4 good seasons before becoming average. A lot has to do with what team they get drafted too as well, some teams can develop young talent well, some are absolutely terrible and ruin would be stars. I've always found that 80% of players reach their prime in years 7-8.
