The sound of the engine reminds me of GTA San Andreas. It’s sounds so virtual and unrealistic. Lol.
It's so sad. They've got a perfectly good NA V6 in this car, and yet have to go and play sound through the speakers over it. I'd rather hear the natural sound even if it's a bit quieter.
ARentz07 so turn off the in cabin sound, or get an aftermarket exhaust, and your problem is solved 🤷♂️

I think very few out there will doubt how amazing the 370z is. Reliable, fast and hell its looks really good. interior wise though nissan failed. 11 years and zero changes to the interior. and if any were done they go very un noticed

I have a 2009 black sport touring and it is a gorgeous car. I still get compliments on it all of the time. Then again it only has 38k miles and has the exotic persimmon interior.

The 370 has sooo much potential! Its a shame that the stock exhaust is so quiet..
This NISMO has an upgraded catback, it sounds pretty good I think. It's quiet enough to not piss off your neighbors, but it starts to scream around 4500 RPM. There are lots of great options for aftermarket. If you want to piss everyone off withing half a mile, just throw a Tomei on it.

This is one of the very last rear-wheel drive, naturally-aspirated, MANUAL GEAR-BOX sports cars available on the market, period. If you disable the (still best on the market) rev-matching, it is one of the only pure driving experience cars out there. It doesn't have any fancy bullshit, the ride is rough, but not terrible, you feel so connected with the road, especially if you ditch the Bridgestones and go with a Pilot Sport 4S or Cup tire. It's a raw car with a grabby sport clutch, which is actually pretty forgiving, but still not a beginner friendly clutch. You simply cannot find this kind of experience without spending the money for a Porsche Cayman S or Lotus Evora (75-90k).
Yes, it's old, but it's BEAUTIFUL. This is one of the best looking sports cars out there, and with the NISMO package, you get the awesome Recaro seats. Trust me, these are the best seats in any sports car I have ever driven. The aero kit is sharp and aggressive, but it doesn't look out of place or overdone.
After having owned a '16 NISMO 6MT for 2 years, I love it so much. The only real complaints I have are the horrible fake engine sound that is ported through the speakers (the dealer can turn this off for you, the NISMO has a decent catback upgrade that sounds just fine), the overheating and CSC issues (easily fixed by the CMAK CSC delete package and an oil-cooler, but clocking in at around 1000$, not something you should have to purchase after-market on a "track-ready" car), and the price-to-performance ratio. This car is 350 crank horsepower stock, which translates to about ~290 brake horsepower and ~275 wheel torque. For ~50k for the tech package, this is not enough. The aftermarket performance availability is great, but without boosting then engine, a full-bolt-on setup will cost ~6k + installation/tune and only get you to ~340 wheel horsepower and 295 wheel torque. This is not necessarily a bad thing, because even during 'spirited driving', the car is controllable and forgiving, and the Akebono brakes and tires keep the car safe as long as they are up to temperature.
Everyone of you hating on this car will be rushing to get your hands on one when the last manual-gear-box RWD sports car finally goes out of production. It's a goddamned crying shame that our children will never experience something like that car has to offer.

You may not like the Z, but there is a reason they still get made. Plenty of people love the look (myself included) and they can be upgraded into on of the fastest street cars available, and for a lower cost than the cars it beats.

You’d think Nissan’d give this thing a more significant makeover after close to 20 years of existence. They don’t have to totally redesign it, just a new dash, some nicer door materials and maybe a front and rear end refreshening...
20 years? Stop embellishing you millennial. Or study math harder. Its been 10 years. The 370z came out in 2009 and it was a complete redesign of the 350z.
xuimod yeah I don’t get how people in some of these comments have said that the 370Z was a refresh of the 350Z, which tends to be where the 20 year argument comes from. Literally not a single panel was carried over. The engine was different. The chassis is shorter. It followed a design language that started with the 350Z but it was clearly a newer generation.

xuimod wish I were a millennial...I know they redesigned it and upgraded the engine (if you like the 3.7 liter better), but it still looks old; I actually prefer the exterior looks of the older models, especially in silver.

Weird, my 350Z didn’t sound like that. I almost got the 370Z but bought the STI instead. I heard this wind blowing in a hallow can sound and found out there is a sound generator. Pulled all that related crap out of there and replaced it with the standard intake hose. I do have to say the Z is a great car for drifting.

Sometimes I want the nismo just for the blackout interior pieces and seats lol. Oh and all the suspension upgrades. Otherwise a lightweight pre-facelift base/sport model is usually faster in the straights and better for modding due to lower price.
The Recaro seats alone are worth it. 10k for 18 crank horsepower, stiffer springs, a carback upgrade, and an aero-kit is rough, I agree. But the seats are so damn good.

@@Themayseffect no 5 years old max, 370z Nismo underwent redesign in 2015. Big difference between 2014 and 2015 Nismo but Nissan was too lazy to update the infotainment system.

I still think it's a very nice car, even it's so old. It has a very timeless design I think and with the naturally aspiratet V6 and the manual gearbox you have probably a lot of fun driving it.
I wish I had a nismo.. there's hardly any used ones at all in Ontario so I bought a base new.

Commenting post Z Proto announcement. I hope very few people bought this car, and if they did, I hope they really really really like it. Because the new Z is finally a step into modern sports cars, whereas this feels like 2007. Hell my '07 RX8 had a nicer interior than this 2020 370z nismo.

For those asking why the interior looks old and outdated , the 370Z has been the same since 2008-09 , like the frontier , I don’t understand why anyone buys a brand new frontier from the dealer , same car for 13 years +

Hows the Rev hang on these?
Not great. If you want clean shifts, you have to hold the clutch for at least a second and a half or so before letting out and getting back on the gas, or else you will be slipping before long. One of my biggest complaints on this car, having owned a '16 NISMO 6MT for two years. Slamming gears is possible, but you'll be burning out your clutch in a year or two.

@@justchillin619 It's really not that bad. Keep in mind, this transmission has been around for a long time. I may be overexaggerating with the 1.5 seconds. It's probably right around a second. And the hang is really only an issue if you are shifting above 5500 or so, which isn't very often.

@@K03sport No it's bc Nissan refuses to update any interior on their current models. That 370z has looked the same since 2009 and it's pathetic for a decade old car. They are FAR behind Honda and Toyota !! The only good looking interior nowadays is their Infiniti Q60. The Q50 is meh for an Infiniti since it looks like high-end Nissan interior rather than Infiniti grade interior. The GT-R also has the same issue. The 2017 GT-R's updated interior is STILL lack luster, and the GT-R could definitely use some interior upgrades like better seats, infotainment system, sound system, etc. It's a six figure price tag car and BMW, Audi, and Mercedes make better cars for half the price or less.

great car, but seriously, how much would it have cost Nissan to redesign the center console and put the radio from the Altima (highest volume unit) into the center stack? just the center stack; everything else to the left/right and gear stick back would stay the same. Lost opportunities; lost opportunities. Great car let down by the (unchanged) 12yo design and tech.

I think the 2018 has the audio "enhanced engine noise" in other words in blair's additional engine noise into the cabin from a speaker located somewhere in the engine bay. Don't quote me I watched some other video talking about it a while back ago. You may have the older nismo before the half half refresh. Imo it's better. I hate artificial added engine noises

@@mike80449 interiors in all challengers are complete shit, stripped straight out of a dodge dart or something. The Nismo would easily outpace a Challenger on a technical circuit. I see dozens of these muscle cars everyday, they are nothing special. Unrealible, cheap build quality turds on wheels, with poser drivers' who know nothing other than mashing the pedal to the floor.

You can say the interior was ripped out of the Dodge Dart but atleast dodge was able to change there interior in there car after the 5th year if there veichle and they sell more challengers cause people want them it’s a good value high performance car only people I see in 370zs are fast and furious wannabes and idiots drifting into telephone poles in a high school parking lot.
370z or miata?
The 370z is a powerhouse that does very well in a straight line race and is fairly good in corners; the miata is much lighter and has the ability to corner better than the 370z, but lacks the same acceleration and top speed. The 370z is a more balanced car than the miata overall, but the miata is a monster at drifting, autocross and corner-heavy tracks.
When is Nissan going to stop those microwave chimes it sounds so unneeded
