I fell like Vi and Came have a push and pull relationship like the principle of Yin and Yang. They are complete opposites but connects in many different ways that creates a special bond between them that they can relate to very well. They are perfect for each other and will always have a place in my heart.
Hi Georgia hope you have an amazing 2022. maybe as a suggestion you could watch the movie George of the jungle and the sequel movie George of the jungle 2 as an idea. You are beyond amazing and your content is always wonderful be sure to keep up the good work.😊
You should try playing wild rift aka LoL on mobile. Both VI n Caitlyn (Jinx, Ekko and others are in it too. Probably others would be in the second Arcane series.)
Also, Caitlyn shielding Vi when jinx fires also shows that even if things doesn't go your way, she will stick together while Vi pushing her represents the opposite. Again... if its blood and water, then Vi is Blood becoz its red (vi's hair and dress color... in game too) and Caitlyn blue which is common color representation of water (Caitlyn dress color... in game too)
There's also the fact that even after having parted ways, Vi goes to Jayce for assistance based mainly because Cait trusted him and wanted to go to him for help. So she actually trusts her so much that, even after being a lone wolf troughout all the series, she's willing to ask for a complete stranger's assistance.
@@GeorgiaDow I don't think anyone would mind a part 3! ;) There are also some scenes between Ekko and Caitlyn that could be used for showing how Vi has grown to trust Cait!
In some ways though Jayce is a bit of a lone wolf himself. They are more alike then each of them realize despite the differences. Hmm. I guess many of the (good) main characters have some important characteristics alike. sm
@@mattwoodard2535 it's interesting to see the "mini-factions" emerge. Vi, Caitlyn, Jayce becoming a cohesive unit; Ekko, Heimendinger, and the fireflies; Victor, the undercity scientist, and I suspect Sevika might join those two in the future. I wonder how the group dynamics would analyze in themselves and in relation to each other while also affected by the bigger context of the two cities. Very intriguing world-building. I reckon we will see it more come season 2!
I wouldn’t necessarily call this you being wrong rather missing a few scenes and that’s ok. Love your Arcane analysis videos. I’d love to see a video on Vi’s trauma and/or her relationship with Vander.
Agreed. This isn't anything about being wrong just some missed scenes that give more analysis. We don't judge you for it. On the contrary, in fact. It allows for more discussion, positive discussion, to be had by the community. If someone was coming out and saying, "NO YOU'RE WRONG. ROAR ROAR ROAR." That's just not true. It makes for everyone in the comments to have a discussion on the other pieces that weren't touched on and, with your input, makes it even more of a discussion, rather than you being wrong.
The creators put SO much into this, I think it's only natural to miss things ❤️ I just love that the community all notices new things and shares so we can all appreciate the depth of it
@@GeorgiaDow I want to know what you think about about Caitlin pulling vi away from the fighting that one guy before she finally get to see jinx again. and what about cait calling for vi when echo kid napped and then the interaction after that and how vi told echo that he could trust cait?
Another detail about the scene where Vi is expecting Caitlyn's head under the platter: the brief flashback image to Caitlyn's face on the bed is different from the original shot of that scene. In the original scene she looked slightly tired, worried, or scared and determined, but in Vi's memory of the scene her expression is much softer, her eyes are more open, her lips are parted, overall making her appear open, warm, caring or even romantic. I think it's an insane amount of subtle detail that you only notice if you're looking for it, but it just reveals so much about Vi's feelings towards Caitlyn.
If you are interested in things that were missed, Caitlyn's mother giving her the go ahead to chase after Vi was so symbolic, not just because she gave her the confirmation to go get her, but because Caitlyn's mother has throughout the entire series disapproved of Caitlyn's decisions. She always felt that Caitlyn needed to be protected by the matriarch of the family. She was also very pretentious while maintaining her families values, so much so, she was willing to completely drop their long time family friend Jayce if it meant he would harm or disrupt or bring shame to her family. Her giving Caitlyn the go ahead for Vi, was her giving Caitlyn afframation that she agreed with Caitlyn's choice, and also symbolizing, that she relinquished Caitlyn from her protection, assuring Caitlyn, Vi can protect you now.
Okay, you went too far with the "Vi can protect you now". The previous things you said were very true and well based, but this last lil part is absolutely delirious hahahah
@@aqueladonao2982 how can that be considered delirious? Just because you may have a lack of insight on a concept doesn't mean you disregard it. Thats called lazy thinking. The entire Karimman family dynamic was written and confirmed by the writers, to work as contrast to the stereotypical family hierarchy. Instead of writing in an protective, bread winning father and a caring and understanding mother, they switch the gender roles. This was deliberately done to express a strong female role which was the theme of Caitlyn and Vi's character dynamic for the show. In the common dynamic, Caitlyn's mother would have been her father and Vi would have been a male. With that dynamic, you wouldn't even bat an eye at my statement of a father giving his daughter permission to allow the person she loved to "protect" her. Its so normalized, that is it customary for a father to "give his daughter away" during a wedding, symbolizing the acceptance of her husband, or new protector. Under that rationale, its easy to assume that when the writer, who took to reddit to confirmed that she delibrately wrote every interaction with Caitlyn and Vi as an intentional contradiction to gender norms, would pay very close attention to the overprotective mother. Whats even more genius is it breaks down gender norms without patronizing men or misrepresenting women.
@@dairdb okay, you just talk too much Geeez. All I wanted to say was that you can't just *ASSUME* what her mother was thinking. Assuming her mother had this specific idea "now vi will protect my daughter", specially when, in that scene, Caitlyn is the one protecting Vi (vi is a Undercity foreigner visiting Piltover and trying to gain their attention). So there nothing to do her mother think "now Vi can protect you". All of your previous text was right. But that last statement was delirious. You pushed it too far. Your imagination or wantings aren't necessally true, friend. You "saw too much".
The blood and water thing is also really symbolic to their respective hair colors and outfit colors. Vi has red hair and wears a red jacket. Caitlyn has blue hair and wears a blue outfit. Red is blood, blue is water.
Yes, you are over thinking this. Cait hair ain't blue(its a color blend of Powder/Jinx hair mix with Vi hair makes Cait's hair color). Oil and water is an "idiom" way of saying that the the two elements don't mix is a way of saying they are very different and their relationship don't work well together. But there could be a meaning to "blood and water". Maybe the cleansing of her guilt(enforcement kill Vi's parents). Cait saving Vi and trying to do the right thing is a way of washing away the blood(guilt) and trying to make things right is a way of redemption. Or that Vi is wrong that she is not "Oil" but more like "blood".
@@GeorgiaDow It was. Sincerely. Put a big a$$ smile on my face. Oh and PS. Its Kai yor ril. The name is spoken in Illythrii. The language of the Drow. Means First Son. Since I'm the eldest of my siblings.
@@vanteal Why do you think it's disingenuous? Why do you say they think it's worth $3 or $100 a month? Just not seeing how you came to these conclusions
The writers and animators did such an amazing job in breathing life into these characters and their relationships with one another. Arcane itself is in general *chef kiss*
@@GeorgiaDow Hey! D o you make a video about grown up Jinxaswell ? aslo that sccene in the ridge..showed very well rhat Jinx sees Caityln as a monster and for a good reason enforcers killed her parents.... and rich guys from Piltover are to blame to for many of their problems ans suffering of their problems, also in the end Jinx kidnaps naked Cait but she forces her to wear that enforcer uniform, almost like a mockery how ridiculous the whole situation is, but love your videos :) waiting for the next one :)
to complete the list of scenes I would like to point out the whole interaction when Vi and Caitlyn were caught by the firelights. First, they were in an unknown place cuffed with limited vision and Caitlyn even says " I knew it was a mistake trusting you" and further confronts Vi with her sister because Caitlyn now knows who Vi's sister really is and that she sides with the enemy. Vi doesn't even deny that she held something back but also proactively confronts Caitlyn about the gemstone, confirming that not only Vi held back information but Caitlyn as well so they were not on the same footing to begin with. Even after such a quarrel in a cuffed situation with limited vision Caitlyn goes right away back to protecting her stating to leave Vi alone when she was dragged out of the room by the other firelighter. When Ekko came to release her later, she doesn't trust the kid because nobody said anything to her (water could have been drugged or poisoned) but she straight out asks for Vi and here - even after saying before it was a mistake to trust her - that she offers herself up in favor for Vi's release - not knowing what they could do to her or want from her. This is a huge affection proof. She just could as well have begged for her own release if she didn't care for Vi and only her own goals(her own release and the gemstone). And Vi wanted to see/ hear her reaction and therefore hid behind the wall in order to confirm if she really wants to trust her and is very well not dissapointed ^^ when she hears how desperate Caitlyn is trying to get her released and out of any harm- she then teases her with "My hero" acknowleding her loyalty and trustwothyness and Ekko confirms this to Caitlyn when he tells her that Vi told him beforehand(!) that he could trust her. So they both were doing the same (protecting each other) without knowing the reaction of the other one. After that she protects Caitlyn from Ekko as he is agitated by her naiv world view of the enforcers (when she naivly denies that anybody is bribed there). brothel scene: One more subtle information Vi gets from Caitlyn in the brothel is that Caitlyn is very bad at pretending/lying. When she sets her up with the male Pim she is not only bad at flirting with a man but also bad on putting up the mask of "Matilda" . The situation showing her later with a woman completely comfortable flirting shows not only reveals her sexual preference but also that she is comfortable when she can be herself and doesn't put on as mask. This is very appealing to Vi as she is very straight forward as well. So also for the firelighter situation Caitlyn didn't lie to Vi but only held back information- just like Vi handles this as well. So here their way of handling situations and things kind of alignes although I believe Vi is able to pretend better than Caitlyn as she learned this a bit more as a means of survival in the Undercity and surely in Prison as well. One detail for the bridge scence that shows Caitlyn's affection and disapprovement of Vi leaving is not only the little frown she does before hugging but also after the hug she barely contains her tears - her eyes are completely watery and in the next shot with Ekko walking she looks down to cope with the upwelling tears. predictions: A lot of people predict that Caitlyn will distance herself when her mother dies from Jinx's rocket (if she even dies... this is not certain yet) and that this will cause a rift in their relationship for the time being. I believe that either way - if this is a plot - then Caitlyn won't blame Vi for this but only Jinx. She has very well seen how difficult Jinx's mental state is and how small Vi's influence is at the moment. The decision to not shoot Jinx at the table was made by Cailtyn and not Vi (she just begged Caitlyn not to shoot her sister but the ultimate decison was done by Caitlyn as Vi was cuffed). So Caitlyn will not put the blame on Vi for her mothers death. And she knows for certain that Vi didn't intent to harm the council or kill anybody (she just proposed to Jinx to leave with her instead of asking her to kill Silco -[VI: "you'll never have to to see him again"]). BUT I believe as an avoidant attachment type Vi will try to distance herself from Caitlyn but Caitlyn will chase her this time. As an avoidant attachment type she will think that she is responsible for the overall incident because it is her sister that cause this and she thinks she is the sole reason (after Jinx told her "Silco didn't make Jinx- you did."). She will try to solve this by herself - and at last in order to get Caitlyn out of anyones harm, but Caitlyn will not accept that. --> I think the Season 2 teaser kind of confirms this theory [Caitlyn: "If I go after your sister alone, one of us comes back in a box"; Vi:"I can do this by myself, no one else needs to get hurt..."] - What do you think Georgia?
These are wonderful assessments and I agree I think that Caitlyn and Vi will still work together thought there will be a pause due to the mourning. This is really good
Hey Dream Works! I made this kind of comment/suggestion as well like hours ago. A lot of editing on it until it is final. The difference is our analysis is different based on our perspectives.
I love your comment, NO I AM OBSESSED WITH YOUR COMMENT I FEEL LIKE I CAN'T STAND THE WAIT FOR SEASON 2 ANYMORE THANKS TO THIS how poetic it would be if this time cupcake does pursue vi and say something like "not this time", knowing she can't be without her (like we saw in the shower scene) it would be perfect to finally develop the kiss scene they deserve to have
I can imagine Ekko being like “why would she trust an Enfoncer?” and can only imagine his feelings; seeing her so selflessly offer herself in place of “under city trash” is a heck of a first impression.
I wouldn't say you were "wrong" in your last video, you only missed some moments. I think a lot of people will just be happy to see more content from you :D And of course, Caitlyn and Vi are some of the more popular characters in Arcane so everyone wants more of them :D Keep up the great videos, the Arcane fans love it!!
The face touch scene is one of my favorites, because of how Vi is learning to be vulnerable. After Vi gets hurt by Sevika and Caitlyn tries to help her, she tries to clean a wound on Vi's face, and Vi instinctively pushes her away, probably because in Stillwater, physical touch necessarily meant getting hurt. But in Cait's bedroom, they've both been through physically and emotionnaly draining events and are just looking for comfort. And this time, not only does Vi accept Cait's touch, she even "asks" for it by taking her hand.
Amanda Overton, who is one of the writers for the show, has answered a lot of questions on twitter about Vi and Caitlyn's relationship. She said had to fight to keep some of these interactions, such as the "hot, cupcake" line, in the show because she feels it's important that it's important that their relationship is explicitly shown instead of being reduced to subtext. LGBTQ characters have always existed in media, but it's usually done through combination coding and subtext, having it be more explicitly is very good. Overton has also kind of hinted that we'll being getting a lot more in the second season, can't wait until next year! (Yes, I know, we're only January 1st of this year but still...)
What a hero! Wow! She fought for explicit interactions... -.- Honestly the best part of their relationship is that it develops slowly and suttle. Makes it more realistic. Do you guys need to see them licking clits, so you can value their relationshiop ?
@@nostalji93 Jayce literally has a scene of him having sex with Mel and you haven't literally said anything, just says you're homophobic and ready, it doesn't make sense for you to get stressed out about a "you're hot cupcake" when heterosexual couples have had a lot more obvious scenes, and you literally don't see ANYONE complaining LGBTQ+ couples have always had to hide, always needed to be in codes, Arcane has a heterosexual sex scene that passed quietly, but a scene of two women calling each other Hot is forcing things???
One thing I noticed is that Vi experiences the world through her hands. Her hands are never really still. Caitlyn on the other hand experiences the world through her eyes. When Caitlyn is walking up to Vi in the rain, she looks at Vi for a moment like she's trying to figure something out before she speaks. On the other hand, during the brothel scene, Vi is constantly moving, and again uses her hands to show Caitlyn this new slice of Vi's world.
someone else pointed out that Vi's love language is in fact physical touch and I believe this is true and the most obvious one. In fact I think it is additionally the act of favours and -at the moment very hidden- the words of affirmation as she complements others but is really taken aback by the acknowledgement Caitlyn gave her at the council, as she is not used to be complemented. She always needed to boost Powders confidence but was rarely boosted herself - most of the time chewed out or lectured about her behaviour as a group leader. She is not used to be rescued, protected or acknowleded by others, which is also a big part of her trauma. In ep2 she said to Vander " I've been gowing up knowing I am less than them". So Caitlyn giving her worth even without wanting something in return is a big deal to her.
i may be wrong but i feel like this makes perfect sense because even with their weapons, vi uses her hands (the gauntlets) and caitlyn uses her eyes (sharpshooter)
This is what make Arcane a Masterpiece of visual *and* dialog driven storytelling. And why an animated medium was so perfect for this series. There is so much story being told just in the animations. For example. In episode 3. Vi hands Powder a blue flare. Tells her "Light this up. Wherever you are. I will come and find you. I promise." Jinx has blue clouds in a rising pattern tattooed on her body and arms. She has always been calling out to Vi to find and save her.
@@klrkss I am so sorry that example depressed you. But since you're already there... Ex. 2 In episode 6. We see Viktor as a very young boy playing in the toxic filled waters of Zaun with a boat he invented. Watching him is a little girl. Victor sees her too. But as he looks up at her, his eyes and face are expressionless. Then she is called away by her friends. She turns and gives Viktor a quick smile before clambering up the rocks. That little girl was Sky. She's carried a crush, unrequited, on Viktor pretty much her entire life. Attracted and inspired by his brilliance and inventiveness. And then she died. Trying to save him from the Hexcore that he created.
Don’t forget the little concern look Vi gives Caitlyn after running back to her once she heard the gunshots on the bridge. Vi was going to find Jinx, her sister, but the second she thought Caitlyn’s life was in danger she turns right back around and runs to her then gives her the most concerned and worried look while touching her face so gently
I think caitlyn took to vi so fast cus vi was the one person in the show the actually treated caitlyn like a functioning adult instead of try to shelter and protect her cus she was "weak"
Also, props to Cait for reducing the damage that her rifle could do in the undercity by ejecting the rounds before handing it over, minus a few points for not picking those rounds back up, but the message is still conveyed. She immediately recognizes that she's put high quality weaponry into the economic system with no idea of how it will be used, so she tries to reduce the impact, as well as avoid getting shot by it herself. That's smart, responsible, and pragmatic. All useful traits for someone wanting to be in Piltover's finest.
When Vi sees Caitlyn in a flash when she thought Jinx killed her, you can actually see that Caitlyn's face doesn't have the exact same expression than the actual scene in the prior episode. We can see slight differences, she has wider eyes and her mouth is slightly open. It's as if Vi recreated her memory to keep it even warmer than the actual event and I love this little detail that you can miss so easily. PS: sorry if I made mistakes, I'm French
ANOTHER thing about the head on a platter scene (its more focused on the audience than the characters in universe) is that the idea of a head being under the cloche, by the way the camera frames Vi's head being under the dome formed by Jinx's fingers as she goes to pick it up. I think this really helps viewers have the same fear spring to mind as Vi, and helps drive home the realisation that Vi has when she thinks its Caitlyn's head under the cloche
Not gonna lie, I was nearly convinced by Jinx's bluff I was like 'nah, she didn't. She can't....(sees Vi worried).... can she? She wouldn't (Jinx swirling the cloche) you're joking ( sees Vi panicking) omygod she's serious?! Oh SHI-
The blood mingling with water in that scene was, for me, ‘blood is thicker than water’. In other words ‘family means more than anything’. It is in this scene that Cait realises that Vi means more to her than anything in her past. Her mother, her upbringing, her wealth…. Even her job. Her blood being washed away and mingling with the water is Cait realising that Vi is her ‘new’ family and that her future lies in this relationship. Look at that shake of her head. That is Cait’s moment of clarity and decision.
It becomes even more symbolic when you consider the full version of that saying and its original meaning: "the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb". The original meaning is actually the exact opposite to how it is used nowadays. It means that your family is not defined by your birth but by the people you choose and consider your family.
There's something I find interesting at their last scene around the table with Jinx and Silco. The first time Vi takes Cait seriously, when Cait saves her from Sevika, Vi says to Cait she's an "alright shot" while Cait replies that she's an "excellent shot". When Cait manages to untie herself and pick up Jinx's gun, Jinx does not take her seriously. She's angry, but she's scoffing at Caitlyn. She had a gun pointed at her way too many times with no one coming even close to being able to hit her. But then they exchange shots and THEN Jinx is genuinely surprised. Unarmed, Cait was easy to control, but Cait is not an average shooter and as she proceeds to tell Jinx again to drop the gun it's clear those were just warning shots. She wouldn't have missed, she's an "excellent shot", and Jinx realizes she's facing a more serious opponent. The one thing that goes down is that Vi asks Cait to spare her because they're sisters and Jinx then sees a weakness and way to manipulate Caitlyn to have her gun back. Cait won't hurt her if she believes Jinx is just Vi's scared little sister and then she plays her part well to distract Caitlyn and knock her out. At the end she could have just shot Caitlyn, but she realized killing Caitlyn wouldn't bring Vi back. "You changed too" and just as Jinx cannot be Powder again, the Vi she knew is also lost in the past. That wall painting where Vi and Jinx count among the dead when in fact they're both still alive is very symbolic. And finally comes Silco's voice saying "we'll show them all". It's not just one person anymore, it's all of them, it's Piltover and everything they stand for. As Vi says to the council, Silco despises everything they represent and won't settle for agreements. Jinx is following his steps. Just like Piltover declared war on everything they represent, Jinx is about to do the same to Piltover. Keeping Caitlyn alive is a way of her saying "I'm going to take away from you everything you took away from me".
Yeah, I caught everything in the first go. Gay people are so starved for a good rep. that we pick up on everything with precision lol, at least majority of us. People dissected scenes, so there is no hard feelings if someone missed some things. I always love to see when others discover something new for themselves in scenes between Vi and Caitlyn. The whole show is riddled with small things that may seem inconsequential, but add up so well to the bigger picture. P.S. 8:48 a minor detail here is that in Vi eyes Caitlyn looks more pouty with wider eyes, and more vulnerable, than was shown before in the actual scene. I think it shows perspective from Vi's pov. You can clearly see it when you compare 2 shots.
@@GeorgiaDow saw someone on Twitter also mention how Jinx looks different in Ekko's eyes when he defeats her during the bridge fight (more like powder). Not sure where else this happens, but Im sure there are other instances.
The interactions between Vi and Caitlyn hit me like a brick. Its appreciation and admiration of their situation with a side of feeling empty because I never experienced anything like this. I envy them..
That’s the thing about this show, the interactions and social relationships are done so well that there is *A TON* of material to go over. Your videos provide insights I never thought of.
When they part ways on the bridge, right after that tight hug, Vi softly touches Caitlyn's cheek echoing the moment when Caitlyn does this to Vi. I thought of this as a kind of cycle but not a full one as it seems to me that despite what it looked like, Vi was hoping to see Caitlyn again one day. It was clear that Vi was not planning on ever forgeting her. Also, you mentioned this kind of difference between the way Vi hugs Ekko and the way she hugs Caitlyn. I believe something similar could be mentioned about the moment following Marcus shooting Ekko. Vi doesn't know what's going on but right after hearing the gun shot, she runs back to the place and the name that she shouts is Caitlyn's. Before that, there are other moments that show this "spark" for each other. When they are bothe tied up in the Firelights place, Caitlyn does two things. The first one when she hears Vi being taken away, she keeps calling her name out of worry. The second one is when Ekko is in front of her and Caitlyn just starts asking him to let Vi go since she (Caitlyn) is the one they want. She was willing to sacrifice herself to protect Vi (a confirmation of this is later shown in the bridge when she shields Vi). Apart from this, there are also two things from Vi. Ekko tells Caitlyn that Vi told him he can trust her and later when Ekko and Caitlyn are talking, he starts to get pissed off by Caitlyn's words and Vi gets in the middle to put some distance between them and defends Caitlyn. One last thing there is when Caitlyn takls about the lanes needing healing, more than she ever realised, and Vi stares at her a little surprised but at the same time sort of relieved that Caitlyn understands and actually cares about the people in the lanes.
Just want to say how admirable amd exciting it is that you're comfortable and willing to make videos that so directly engage with fan input. Thank you for reading and engaging with the community! Your passion really shows :)
An important micro-movement - the Yin Yang bed curl up scene. Near the start Caitlyn pulls her knees up slightly... aware of the proximity, the closeness, and concerned for Vi's space + comfort Caitlyn unnecessarily adjusts where her knees are. It's such a beautiful showing of being hypersensitively aware of another's being, the anxious vulnerability of the situation, and doing whatever you can to not trigger someone so defensively reactive so the moment can last. The scene leads to Vi opening up with a personal story from her past, something so tragically personal that it reinforces enough acceptance of Caitlyn that it gives her the courage to reach out and caress Vi. That initial micro-movement of Caitlyn slightly drawing up her knees makes this scene SO much more poignant for the relationship progression of this scene!
A smaller detail in the platter scene - when Vi remembers the moment she shared with Caitlyn on her bed, she remembers Caitlyn looking her directly in the eye, her expression a lot softer and softer and more intimate than it was in real life. This shows how fondly Vi remembers Caitlyn, and that a lot of the time, we register memories in biased way which makes them even better than they were in reality :>
Also I’m that ‘I made her a snack’ scene… it’s deffo significant that Vi didn’t even blink/flinch/try to deny it when Jinx referred to Cait as ‘your girlfriend’…
True! Nor did anyone else in the room comment on it. Even jinx didn’t care past how it affected her directly, and that had nothing to do with gender or anything like that
i'm glad you're willing to check other people comment, because as a single person you will miss some stuff it's normal, but something should not be missed, especially the gun, it has so much importance to the story and what will come for season 2
You wasn't really wrong, you just missed some little details. Its insane how much effort and detail went into the storytelling of this show. This show is definitely the best thing coming out of 2021
And... Vi was shocked when she saw Jinx's cruelty. When Jinx was shooting at the Firelighters. And on the other side, Vi was touched by Caitlyn's compassion and patience. Yes! Caitlyn reminded her of her mother. Only mother and Vander took care of her.
Another small detail, in Episode 6 when Caitlyn gives Vi the vial with Shimmer, Caitlyn looks into Vi's eyes and waits until her eyes aren't purple anymore. Also, in Episode 9 Jinx said "I made her a snack." and revealed that she made a Cupcake. So she is not wrong.
I already respected you as a creator and a therapist. After this vid, you addressing missed points and acknowledging other feedback is awesome and something that is so rarely seen these days. Kudos
To be fair, there are so many small details in this show. It’s be crazy if you didn’t miss something unless you obsessively rewatched the show, and even then. Not really having to do with their relationship but just Caitlyn in general, that scene where she hugs Huck is so sweet. It’s probably my favorite solo Cait moment. Really highlights how compassionate and how much heart she actually has. Really helped tie her with Vi for my favorite character. Both have such big hearts.
I love that about Caitlyn. I also like how the show made a comparison of Vi's mother to Caitlyn and had her quote Vandor. Vi also realized she shared Vandor's views on violence while talking to Ekko. So when Georgia was describing how we can be attracted to someone having similar characteristics to our paternal figure, Caitlyn has them in spades. Vi is who Vandor was in his youth Caitlyn is more symbolic of Vandor who's responsible for all of the Undercity.
Another interesting thing. Based on what we've seen in Arcane, Vi damns herself because of her belief that bad things always happen to the people she cares about when she is there (eg, Vander and her friends dying and Powder leaving etc.). Because of this, she hardened up herself in prison to prevent anyone from ever getting close just in case she would cause harm to them, because it hurts her just as much, if not more when they are hurt, backed up by her belief that it's on her. Despite all of these barriers and attempts, Caitlyn saw through her, saw her intentions, her real heart. "Despite it all, I can tell. You have a good heart." Vi saw that her walls didn't work, and it got her closer to Cait, showing her that Cait truly cared about her. On the bridge, she pushed Caitlyn away not only to protect her, but because it was her instinct. 'If she is close to me, she will get hurt. In order to protect her I must push her away from me.' What also supports that is during the oil and water scene. Knowing that things weren't going to work, she cut herself off from Caitlyn, knowing that the road from there on would be dangerous, and she just couldn't risk getting another person she loves hurt again. Vi isolates herself thinking it will protect the people she cares about, even if it may hurt their feelings. This goes way back to when Vi punched Powder. After a few seconds she realised what she had done, took a few seconds to think, and then walk away to calm herself down unless she wanted to risk hurting her sister even more.
I didn't expect to hear my name when I opened this video 😃 That's really sweet of you, thank you. That moment stuck out to me so much especially since I completely missed it the first time I saw it (I couldn't help but wince like Vi did when that lid went up - the whole scene was so surreal that if there were ever a time for a freak reveal of a character death, it'd be then). Then it struck me how she flashed back to their most intimate moment together and then I was like, "Aww!" This show has so many details packed in it it's almost inevitable that there's stuff we'd miss, which is why reaction videos like yours are so fun to watch since we see different people's first time impressions.
I almost cried during the part where you talked about the weapon Caitlyn gives to save Vi. I thought her gesture of giving something that had such emotional value to save a person she didn't even know was very beautiful.
There's SO much more to Caitvi than just this! For example the moment where Caitlyn is willing to give herself up to Ekko and Vi comes by saying "my hero", or when theyre exploring Ekko's utopia, Vi constantly analyzes Cait and sees that she is not at all like the enforcers she knows
Every scene is told and animated with so much detail, it is inevitable to miss some of them! Thank you for another amazing video, looking forward to more (and happy new year!!)
These two characters just mesh so well, the animators were genius in creating anticipation and chemistry between them. I also like that Vi and Caitlyn are super steadfast in their values and share a very direct approach to things, which I assume would contribute to their innate fascination with one another?
an interesting thing to notice with the "last dinner scene" when jinx open the plate to reveal it's a cupcake instead of Cait's head, Vi have a flashback of this scene they shared on Caitlyn's bed, but if you look Cait's face on Vi's flashback and Cait's face on the actual scene on the bed, it's not the same, Cait's face on Vi flashback is more sensual and appealing, and I think it's how Vi sees Caitlyn ! those both scenes are on this video so you can look at 3:19 to see Cait's face on the actual scene and at 8:10 to see Cait's face in Vi's flashback (this one is short, you may have trouble to pause it at the right time)
@@GeorgiaDow it was probably Caitlyn`s face after Vi grabbed her hand and opened her eyes, but from Vi`s POV. not that big of a deal to make another video
@@danutghidia5820 it actually wasn't from when Caitlyn reached out to Vi, it was before that. You can see in both shots that Caitlyn has both her arms by herself. You can look up the comparisons, it clearly shows that the animators took the time to change the image to reflect how Vi perceives and remembers Caitlyn rathen that just copy pasting from a previous frame.
That's one hell of a subtle difference for a shot lasting a fraction of a second - I had to go back and forth between your timestamps a couple times to be certain of it, but you're absolutely right. Great catch.
I am so glad you read the comments and made this part 2 so quickly! It is very much appreciated. Arcane is made so thoughtfully and beautifully that every scene and shot can be analyzed several times over! Cannot wait for more Arcane and other videos from you, love your enthusiasm! Happy New Year 🎉
Fun fact about Vi's flashback of Cait: Vi remembers Caitlyn's eyes as a lot brighter and more vivid. If you go back to compare the flashback to the scene it's mirroring, you'll see that Caitlyn's eyes are brighter and more prominent than in the original scene.
I honestly didn't catch Vi seeing her Mom at the moment when she was wounded and Cait was trying to help. Definitely a blink and you missed it moment. It also didn't connect that it was same rifle from Cait's childhood that she turned over for the healing potion. I just figured it was the rifle she was issued for her duties and she was reluctant to let it go for a brief moment as it was her means of protecting herself. I was already awed by this show and the emotional connections it establishes with its characters but now even more so.
I love all their moments, but I can't get the one where Caitlyn doesn't say that she knew who made the explosive, that she knew it was Jinx out of my head. Because her objective is to be a fair person, a really good enforcer, to do justice. To find out what is she shooting for. She wants to be in the right, but she denies any conexion that Vi's sister might have with it. She has absolutely no reason to do that beyond her feelings for Vi. Much the opposite: she >should< have said all the information. Jinx killed enforcers when she exploded that building, Jinx stole the hextec power thing(...) Jinx is a criminal, but in the name of protecting Vi's feelings, she said no. That's how much she is willing to for her. It gets better when Vi doesn't possibly let her twist her moral standard by staying silence for her sake. She grabs Caitlyn's hand to assure what she can't with words. Then, she tells them "her name is >Jinx
The one thing i am hopeful to see in the next season is for the relationship to mature and actually address the complications that come with a relationship that has to cross class and economic boundaries. The conflict that comes from Caitlyn's duties and Vi's devotion to Jinx. The event's of the finale more than likely ending in the death of Caitlyn's mother at the hands of Jinx. These are not light or simple things to overcome.
Cait and Vi's entire relationship is symbolic of the conflict between Piltover and the Undercity. They are trying to turn their communities from oil and water to water and blood and that's so beautiful
I know reaction videos are the most popular youtube trend, but damn what you do goes above and beyond that. reaction videos are usually someone watching and saying "wow, that's cool", you watch and then explain precisely why it's cool and what it means for us people. there should be a better descriptive word for that. ps: please never stop getting all emotional about your subject matter. You're honestly the youtuber I empathise with the most
I think that apart from all you mentioned about the shower scene it's also just really simple: it's that time when the new feelings of attraction to someone fully blossom... you know it's mutual, you're craving that person so much, to touch them, to hear them, to feel their lips, you physically cannot stop thinking about them, you replay every second in your head, the thought of the back of their neck makes you tremble, it's consuming, frustrating, it's wonderful. That's what tha shower scene and that lip bite are. Gosh, I feel that even now, it makes me shiver. Call Me by Your Name does this feeling really well too.
If you take the lighting into account, Vi's mom seems to have had Violet/purple colored hair, which makes sense since you can get both red/pink and blue out of that. It also makes me feel like Vi might have been named after her mother. This isn't to say you're wrong though, not at all. Vi seeing her mom in Caitlyn's place briefly is very much on purpose
One more for the road? In the hands cupping cheeks moment at 9:22 Caitlyn's eye dart to Vi lips for a fraction. It's that involuntary micro-expression/reaction that can't faked and can't be suppressed. It's charming and almost funny in its wholesomeness how strongly fans embrace these characters and deep dive into them. It's been great finding new and awesome channels and content creators like you. You are sincere, welcoming, and knowledgeable, and I wish we had more teachers like you :) I'm also of course amazed and thankful for Arcane's creators for their attention to detail. They really did give us a multifaceted story. It's a labor of love and I don't need a micro-expression to see it.
I love how genuently you cheer those how made a good point to complete your analysis. as someone that works on animations, I know we put a lot of tiny details that sometime can't be reached alone. I'm so happy that I have discovered that channel through your Acrane videos. Keep up the good work (oh and sorry for my mistakes, english isn't my first language)
It really is a masterful stroke of storytelling in the smallest of actions, seeing how their feelings are conveyed to and about I've another, in Arcane in general and Vi and Caitlyn specifically. Love seeing the details you pick up and even the ones pointless out later and how you enjoy the nuances. I'd very much enjoy a video on Vander, as personally, I relate to his character in many ways, and seeing his relationships with Vi, Powder, and even Silco affect him and the choices he makes.
Is it weird to say that I find your voice soothing and therapeutic? It makes watching your videos super easy. Also wanted to chime in and say that I think its awesome that you went and did an entire video to add onto your thoughts from your previous analysis video. Not only that, but you added in a ton of feedback that you got from your viewers, and helped them feel noticed and appreciated. Wow, just wow. Double high five girl, you're killing it.
I would love to see a breakdown of Mel, to me the most intriguing character of the show. She is so intelligent and adept at taking control, and yet, throughout her journey in this season, she starts to doubt her motivations and sense of morality. I think there is a lot to dive in to, with her backstory, her artistry, her relationship with her mother and her relationship with Jayce.
These videos are great and analyze their relationship so well! However, Episode 7 at the firelight hideout has so many moments. When Ekko goes back to Caitlin and has her uncuffed, Caitlin pleads to Ekko to leave Vi out of it and takes the blame to protect Vi. We also get another teasing moment there with Vi popping out saying "My hero" Then, as Caitlin and Ekko talk about what to do with the gemstone, we get looks from Vi that show her feelings so strongly. When Cait says she wouldn't blame Ekko for keeping it, she kind of looks away solemnly, but when Caitlin says "This city needs healing, more than I realized" you can see that is the moment when Vi starts to develop/understand her real feelings for Cait. Before that, they were injured and running and going after Jinx before being attacked so Vi couldn't really process anything, but in that moment, you can see the softness when Vi looks back towards her. It is my favorite moment in the series as far as their relationship goes because it is really when we see things shift from purely physical to emotional attraction without the delusions of pain and fear.
I don't know if it is planned but I would really like seeing a video where you interpret Jinx "voices" in her head. I feel like this is a major thing in her personnality and when I saw it in the show I didn't know how to feel about this so I would really like to see your interpretation of these "voices".
I appreciate the fact that you can see other people's perspectives on the matter and can accept criticism! i guess it means you are really good at your job
It's so easy to miss out on some of these small details. Arcane just gets even better with how much detail is added, it really shows how everything is thought out and connected.
That face touch! I love how many layers there are to it. The closeness it shows means so much, especially when contrasted with how Vi aggressively refused to let Caitlyn touch her face the first time she tried - when she tried to tend to Vi after setting her down while Vi was injured
I only recently started watching you, but I wanted to say that I appreciate you taking the time to address all the different commenters that pointed out things you missed from the show (there's always more to find with the rich details in this show lol). You're really engaged with your audience and create interesting content, which is rare and I quite like that. Happy new year and all the best 😊
Not really related to the video, but the fact that the comments section of these videos is this insightful and contemplative is a wonderful change of pace. I'm glad that we're getting a chance to recognize that here.
I think is just like Vader; real life doesn’t follow a hero’s journey and we don’t see the mentor nicely tying up their arc before perishing. Imo was a very strong way to set the stakes high from the start, maybe even stronger than Milo and Claggor in the long term.
To be fair the material is so massive, slipping over a few details is natural and fine. It’s great you are addressing it, and remaking it, truly amazing! In this regard I also missed out a few video uploads... My apologies I got a bit busy with so many thing in life ... but I will come up to them in the future I promise. ;)
I’d just like to say that there is no “wrong” way to interpret something. It’s just that, an interpretation. It was how you saw the situation based on previous experiences and personal ideals. It’s not fact over fiction, and I think your interpretations were lovely!
As much as I love these two as a pairing, I would love to see a breakdown of Vi on her own. I know there'd probably be a lot of overlap with past vids at this point, but I can't get enough of her 😅.
I love that you missed some minor, but beautiful details and made another great video. I really like all of these analyses cause it makes sense of things I felt watching Arcane. Especially because the show plays with all the emotions. Every time you say tell me what you want see next, I am just like: yes please. Everything is really interesting. However I am really looking forward towards your grown-up Victor analysis, because especially the running sequence hit home pretty hard. I have FND so the first time I could walk after not being able to, I run for 3 miles straight as hard as I could, laughing, crying, screaming. Looking forward to all your new videos in 2022. You are my favorite RUclips content discovery of 2021.
It's so many tangling details that it is a lot to remember it all at once! One other detail I loved is the touch on the cheek motif. the first time Caitlyn tries to touch Vi's face to clean it off, Vi blocks her even though she is injured and in need of care. But later in the bed scene, she allows Caitlyn to touch her. Such a simple and effective way to "show don't tell" that Vi grew to trust Caitlyn so much, that she allows herself not only to be vulnerable but also cared for by Caitlyn. Chefs kiss!
This is one thing that i haven't seen annyone talking about: when Caitlyn touches Vi's face ( 3:01 ) Vi is letting her doing that, she's letting Caitlyn get closer, because when Vi was hurt and Caitlyn wanted to clean her face Vi didn't let her (the escene before this one 0:59)
I’d love to see Vi and ekko or just ekko as a young man I can emphasize with having that masculine rage and resentment stored inside when you feel helpless or frustrated. Ekko seems angry almost all the time but it’s different from the defensive or dismissive nature of a lot the other characters. Ekko is straight up hyper confrontational, even Vi mentions he never use to be able to stand up to her.
One final thing. The flash image of Cait in the dinner plate scene is an idealized version of the event. Cait never looked into her eyes that way during that scene. Always just off. Our memories can always be slightly affected by our wants. That said, great initial video and awesome re-look. What I love about this community is everyone going over this series frame by frame enriching everyone's experience.
Dear someone, the amount of details that has gone into the Vi&Caitlyn relationship from the fanbase ... Amazing. If there isn't a Vi & Caitlyn out of the closet moment in S2, the writers are going to have to hide in the undercity.
I wouldn't say you were "wrong" by any stretch of the imagination. There's a lot of footage to go through so it's understandable if you missed some scenes but thank you for coming back to explain these scenes! We really appreciate it This relationship is my favourite in Arcane, next to the tragedy of her (Vi) and Jinx 😢
I fell like Vi and Came have a push and pull relationship like the principle of Yin and Yang. They are complete opposites but connects in many different ways that creates a special bond between them that they can relate to very well. They are perfect for each other and will always have a place in my heart.
What I love about arcane is how they stated that nothing is an accident, every little detail is intentional so it makes it so fun to analyze because you know everything you see was true
Thanks for doing this second video, I watched it just after your first one so it was like 36 minutes of Vi and Caitlyn analysing for me. I understand, there are so many Caitlyn and Vi moments to go through. I could make it over an hour long video if you did all of them Just one more moment I would say is worth talking about. The scene where they both go down to the Firelights hideout and Caitlyn is trying to explain to Ekko why it would be best for her to take the gemstone back to Piltover. There are two moments here: One where Vi had to come between Ekko and Caitlyn because they were disagreeing, Vi saying that Caitlyn believes what shes saying. Showing that she realises the difference in their characters/upbringing and is starting to understand Caitlyns a little more as time goes on and they start to know each other more And two, when Caitlyn is telling Ekko that she realises that wrong has been done to him and all of Zaun and that she really wants to help. Vi having this look on her face, realising that maybe not all Pilties are bad, maybe some of them are kind and understanding like Caitlyn
Georgina! Thank you so much for revisiting. It’s so awesome to get more insight! Not everyone would go back and revisit things they missed. That makes me love you and your content even more.
I think Caitlyn also realizes that Vi will be able to protect her if she gives up her gun, as long as Caitlyn can get her the medicine and get her back on her feet. With Vi injured, Caitlyn has been doing the protecting, but if Vi is able to fight then Caitlyn feels safe relinquishing that role. It's not just indicative of the care she feels for Vi but also the trust she's developed.
9:00 damn I never noticed that, crazy how many small details are hidden in just a few frames in this show. I feel like much of it does add up subconsciously but I never cease to find new stuff with every comment and breakdown video i see
When I saw Vi's reaction to Caitlyn sitting with that women I also saw undertones of Vi reevaluating. "Do we really have a connection? Is she like this with every girl? She's so comfortable with that woman who isn't me, does that mean *our* connection is less?" There are so many complex emotions on Vi's face. It's beatiful to watch.

Hey, Georgia... Maybe can be interesting talk about Vi and Jinx tattoos.
Both are loaded with meaning.
So she actually trusts her so much that, even after being a lone wolf troughout all the series, she's willing to ask for a complete stranger's assistance.
good one !! oh no now I need to make another video =P
@@GeorgiaDow I don't think anyone would mind a part 3! ;) There are also some scenes between Ekko and Caitlyn that could be used for showing how Vi has grown to trust Cait!
@@GeorgiaDow I could watch an entire documentary on just Vi and Cait’s relationship
I’d love to see a video on Vi’s trauma and/or her relationship with Vander.
thank you for that =)
^^^
The creators put SO much into this, I think it's only natural to miss things ❤️
I just love that the community all notices new things and shares so we can all appreciate the depth of it
@@GeorgiaDow I want to know what you think about about Caitlin pulling vi away from the fighting that one guy before she finally get to see jinx again. and what about cait calling for vi when echo kid napped and then the interaction after that and how vi told echo that he could trust cait?
Another detail about the scene where Vi is expecting Caitlyn's head under the platter: the brief flashback image to Caitlyn's face on the bed is different from the original shot of that scene. In the original scene she looked slightly tired, worried, or scared and determined, but in Vi's memory of the scene her expression is much softer, her eyes are more open, her lips are parted, overall making her appear open, warm, caring or even romantic. I think it's an insane amount of subtle detail that you only notice if you're looking for it, but it just reveals so much about Vi's feelings towards Caitlyn.
For real? Holy hell
NICE ONE !!
😭 💜
@@dairdb okay, you just talk too much
Geeez.
I didn't expect to have another 10 minutes of Cait and Vi analysis.
I'm not complaining. I love your analysis
yay
The blood and water thing is also really symbolic to their respective hair colors and outfit colors. Vi has red hair and wears a red jacket. Caitlyn has blue hair and wears a blue outfit. Red is blood, blue is water.
Oh wow nice YES Misty love this analysis thanks
I think you are overthinking it, not everything has to be symbolic
@@Yun_er Everything in this show has been symbolic... Like it would be more weird if it wasn't...
@@JayGeeKayW Did you watch the video? My comment was in response to the Caitlyn's leg bleeding in the shower and the blood mixing with the water...

to complete the list of scenes I would like to point out the whole interaction when Vi and Caitlyn were caught by the firelights.
One detail for the bridge scence that shows Caitlyn's affection and disapprovement of Vi leaving is not only the little frown she does before hugging but also after the hug she barely contains her tears - her eyes are completely watery and in the next shot with Ekko walking she looks down to cope with the upwelling tears.
predictions:
A lot of people predict that Caitlyn will distance herself when her mother dies from Jinx's rocket (if she even dies... this is not certain yet) and that this will cause a rift in their relationship for the time being.
--> I think the Season 2 teaser kind of confirms this theory [Caitlyn: "If I go after your sister alone, one of us comes back in a box"; Vi:"I can do this by myself, no one else needs to get hurt..."]
- What do you think Georgia?

I AM OBSESSED WITH YOUR COMMENT
I FEEL LIKE I CAN'T STAND THE WAIT FOR SEASON 2 ANYMORE THANKS TO THIS
how poetic it would be if this time cupcake does pursue vi and say something like "not this time", knowing she can't be without her (like we saw in the shower scene) it would be perfect to finally develop the kiss scene they deserve to have
It's also a really nice scene when they are captured and Caithlyn tries to offer herself up for Vi's safety.
so beautiful
it was a test and Caitlyn passed the verification)
Caitlyn: "Let her go. I brought her here. It's me you want."
Vi: "My hero."
Caitlyn: "I thought they were hurting you!"
I can imagine Ekko being like “why would she trust an Enfoncer?” and can only imagine his feelings; seeing her so selflessly offer herself in place of “under city trash” is a heck of a first impression.
@@sabatheus 7s funny dialogue.

@@GeorgiaDow Awesome :D
@@KALIMAindia I could watch content on these two for the rest of my life tbh
@@404waenotfound You are not alone, want to know how their relationship develops in Season 2! Hype :D
Do you guys need to see them licking clits, so you can value their relationshiop ?
thanks for that info
@@nostalji93 Oh look at the triggered snowflake...
I have to say, for someone named Overton to be pushing the window open wider... it just makes me love the decision to do so more.
@@nostalji93 Jayce literally has a scene of him having sex with Mel and you haven't literally said anything, just says you're homophobic and ready, it doesn't make sense for you to get stressed out about a "you're hot cupcake" when heterosexual couples have had a lot more obvious scenes, and you literally don't see ANYONE complaining
LGBTQ+ couples have always had to hide, always needed to be in codes, Arcane has a heterosexual sex scene that passed quietly, but a scene of two women calling each other Hot is forcing things???
@@eboyjisung7358 ugh, love it

And when she wants to act tough or cold and distant she puts her hands in her pockets
She has always been calling out to Vi to find and save her.
oh oh OHHH SO THATS WHAT THE TATTOOS MEAN OHHH THANK YOU SO MUCH. now i can be even more depressed
@@Kyoril oh-
Oh wow. Thanks.
so well said =) and Vi has a similar tattoo also
Don’t forget the little concern look Vi gives Caitlyn after running back to her once she heard the gunshots on the bridge. Vi was going to find Jinx, her sister, but the second she thought Caitlyn’s life was in danger she turns right back around and runs to her then gives her the most concerned and worried look while touching her face so gently
I think caitlyn took to vi so fast cus vi was the one person in the show the actually treated caitlyn like a functioning adult instead of try to shelter and protect her cus she was "weak"
oh YEAH wait woah fr
Yes i like that interpretation also
It becomes even more symbolic when you consider the full version of that saying and its original meaning: "the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb".
Thank you for this wonderful assessment
Wao¡!👍
great analysis
You can clearly see it when you compare 2 shots.
gave me chills thanks for that. WOW if I do a third video that will be in it
Oof. Ain't this the truth
@@GeorgiaDow saw someone on Twitter also mention how Jinx looks different in Ekko's eyes when he defeats her during the bridge fight (more like powder). Not sure where else this happens, but Im sure there are other instances.

I dont know whats more adorable. The relationship between Vi and Caitlin or your genuine excitement about it. :D
aww thanks
The interactions between Vi and Caitlyn hit me like a brick. Its appreciation and admiration of their situation with a side of feeling empty because I never experienced anything like this. I envy them..
they are so sweet together
That’s the thing about this show, the interactions and social relationships are done so well that there is *A TON* of material to go over. Your videos provide insights I never thought of.
thx
These subtle touches in this show are so good even the doc almost missed them.
i know thanks to everyones comments i didnt =)
Just want to say how admirable amd exciting it is that you're comfortable and willing to make videos that so directly engage with fan input. Thank you for reading and engaging with the community! Your passion really shows :)
It was so much fun to make this video I was really excited to make it
An important micro-movement - the Yin Yang bed curl up scene.
So true !
True! Nor did anyone else in the room comment on it. Even jinx didn’t care past how it affected her directly, and that had nothing to do with gender or anything like that
i'm glad you're willing to check other people comment, because as a single person you will miss some stuff it's normal, but something should not be missed, especially the gun, it has so much importance to the story and what will come for season 2
it was a really important scene
The music in the Caitlyn shower scene was fantastic. Those string arpeggio’s hit so hard after what had just happened with Vi leaving
You wasn't really wrong, you just missed some little details. Its insane how much effort and detail went into the storytelling of this show. This show is definitely the best thing coming out of 2021
A content creator who admits their errors? You just became one of my favorite content creators!
AWW wow this made mine
And... Vi was shocked when she saw Jinx's cruelty. When Jinx was shooting at the Firelighters. And on the other side, Vi was touched by Caitlyn's compassion and patience. Yes! Caitlyn reminded her of her mother. Only mother and Vander took care of her.
This show has so much depth I was astounded. Raised the bar for all the rest and that's a good thing.
its so well written
Another small detail, in Episode 6 when Caitlyn gives Vi the vial with Shimmer, Caitlyn looks into Vi's eyes and waits until her eyes aren't purple anymore.
Also, in Episode 9 Jinx said "I made her a snack." and revealed that she made a Cupcake. So she is not wrong.
But she's already a snack.
I already respected you as a creator and a therapist. After this vid, you addressing missed points and acknowledging other feedback is awesome and something that is so rarely seen these days. Kudos
Appreciate you!
Both have such big hearts.
she does have such a big heart its lovely
I love that about Caitlyn. I also like how the show made a comparison of Vi's mother to Caitlyn and had her quote Vandor. Vi also realized she shared Vandor's views on violence while talking to Ekko. So when Georgia was describing how we can be attracted to someone having similar characteristics to our paternal figure, Caitlyn has them in spades. Vi is who Vandor was in his youth Caitlyn is more symbolic of Vandor who's responsible for all of the Undercity.
You weren't wrong. This is more like a part two of Vi and Caitlin. Show how good this show really is. Hope you do 'Mel and Jayce'...
Happy you saw the mention and thank you for the wonderful comments and being such a happy part of my community
Thank you for another amazing video, looking forward to more (and happy new year!!)
thanks
These two characters just mesh so well, the animators were genius in creating anticipation and chemistry between them.
I also like that Vi and Caitlyn are super steadfast in their values and share a very direct approach to things, which I assume would contribute to their innate fascination with one another?
an interesting thing to notice with the "last dinner scene" when jinx open the plate to reveal it's a cupcake instead of Cait's head, Vi have a flashback of this scene they shared on Caitlyn's bed, but if you look Cait's face on Vi's flashback and Cait's face on the actual scene on the bed, it's not the same, Cait's face on Vi flashback is more sensual and appealing, and I think it's how Vi sees Caitlyn !
those both scenes are on this video so you can look at 3:19 to see Cait's face on the actual scene and at 8:10 to see Cait's face in Vi's flashback (this one is short, you may have trouble to pause it at the right time)
Great one ! i didnt notice. Oh no another video =P
@@alexg.7913 even if they copy pasted it would serve the same purpose, that Vi thought of that scene of her and Caitlyn in that moment

Fun fact about Vi's flashback of Cait:
Vi remembers Caitlyn's eyes as a lot brighter and more vivid. If you go back to compare the flashback to the scene it's mirroring, you'll see that Caitlyn's eyes are brighter and more prominent than in the original scene.
watch my jinx act 2 video
I honestly didn't catch Vi seeing her Mom at the moment when she was wounded and Cait was trying to help. Definitely a blink and you missed it moment. It also didn't connect that it was same rifle from Cait's childhood that she turned over for the healing potion. I just figured it was the rifle she was issued for her duties and she was reluctant to let it go for a brief moment as it was her means of protecting herself.
I was already awed by this show and the emotional connections it establishes with its characters but now even more so.
Right I have even rewatched the show, and missed it all 3 times
They are trying to turn their communities from oil and water to water and blood and that's so beautiful
the part abt Cait's gun is really tearing me up. thank you for making this video

This show is perfection, its done so well. So much depth, so much emotion, and all so perfectly displayed.
fully agree
I know reaction videos are the most popular youtube trend, but damn what you do goes above and beyond that. reaction videos are usually someone watching and saying "wow, that's cool", you watch and then explain precisely why it's cool and what it means for us people. there should be a better descriptive word for that.
ps: please never stop getting all emotional about your subject matter. You're honestly the youtuber I empathise with the most
thank you !!
Vi seeing her mom in Caitlyn's place briefly is very much on purpose
thanks very kind = )
I think it's quite likely based on the fact that pink and blue makes violet!
You are sincere, welcoming, and knowledgeable, and I wish we had more teachers like you :)
I'm also of course amazed and thankful for Arcane's creators for their attention to detail. They really did give us a multifaceted story. It's a labor of love and I don't need a micro-expression to see it.
nice one thanks !! good catch

I'm so happy that I have discovered that channel through your Acrane videos. Keep up the good work (oh and sorry for my mistakes, english isn't my first language)
thank you for the comment and doing work which brings people happiness
You are so sweet for making this. Thanks for this!
Their relationship is so beautiful. I love it so much. And thank you for the shoutout! Looking forward to Jinx part two.
happening and welcome = )
3:45 small detail but if you look at her eyes, Vi is looking up to Caitlin(?), just a really beautiful touch to this beautiful scene
I don't know if it is planned but I would really like seeing a video where you interpret Jinx "voices" in her head. I feel like this is a major thing in her personnality and when I saw it in the show I didn't know how to feel about this so I would really like to see your interpretation of these "voices".
im working on Jinx act 2 this weekend
I appreciate the fact that you can see other people's perspectives on the matter and can accept criticism! i guess it means you are really good at your job
thanks ! such a kind thing to say
Yeah right? I want her to be my therapist.
Happy new year and all the best 😊
happy new year and welcome to my channel
Not really related to the video, but the fact that the comments section of these videos is this insightful and contemplative is a wonderful change of pace. I'm glad that we're getting a chance to recognize that here.
the best commenters
We need more grayson scene but the writers killed her so early.
Hoping to see you react to Marcus.
I think is just like Vader; real life doesn’t follow a hero’s journey and we don’t see the mentor nicely tying up their arc before perishing. Imo was a very strong way to set the stakes high from the start, maybe even stronger than Milo and Claggor in the long term.
she was a wonderful character
To be fair the material is so massive, slipping over a few details is natural and fine. It’s great you are addressing it, and remaking it, truly amazing!
In this regard I also missed out a few video uploads... My apologies I got a bit busy with so many thing in life ... but I will come up to them in the future I promise. ;)
I’d just like to say that there is no “wrong” way to interpret something. It’s just that, an interpretation. It was how you saw the situation based on previous experiences and personal ideals. It’s not fact over fiction, and I think your interpretations were lovely!
Yeah I think that one I totally missed though =) and so obvious
As much as I love these two as a pairing, I would love to see a breakdown of Vi on her own. I know there'd probably be a lot of overlap with past vids at this point, but I can't get enough of her 😅.
i plan on it
I love that you missed some minor, but beautiful details and made another great video.
You are my favorite RUclips content discovery of 2021.
victor adult is happening. Cant let go of his running was so epic and Jinx act 2 =)
Awesome!
Chefs kiss!
why thank you ! always know its your comment when I see Chefs kiss
This show is so dense with meaning, subtext , and symbolism I can’t imagine anyone catching every single one of them
i missed a few =)
What I love about this community is everyone going over this series frame by frame enriching everyone's experience.
thank you
Dear someone, the amount of details that has gone into the Vi&Caitlyn relationship from the fanbase ...
Amazing. If there isn't a Vi & Caitlyn out of the closet moment in S2, the writers are going to have to hide in the undercity.
FR
I wouldn't say you were "wrong" by any stretch of the imagination. There's a lot of footage to go through so it's understandable if you missed some scenes but thank you for coming back to explain these scenes! We really appreciate it
This relationship is my favourite in Arcane, next to the tragedy of her (Vi) and Jinx 😢
appreciate you also =)
I fell like Vi and Came have a push and pull relationship like the principle of Yin and Yang.
I could make it over an hour long video if you did all of them
Just one more moment I would say is worth talking about. The scene where they both go down to the Firelights hideout and Caitlyn is trying to explain to Ekko why it would be best for her to take the gemstone back to Piltover. There are two moments here:
One where Vi had to come between Ekko and Caitlyn because they were disagreeing, Vi saying that Caitlyn believes what shes saying. Showing that she realises the difference in their characters/upbringing and is starting to understand Caitlyns a little more as time goes on and they start to know each other more
And two, when Caitlyn is telling Ekko that she realises that wrong has been done to him and all of Zaun and that she really wants to help. Vi having this look on her face, realising that maybe not all Pilties are bad, maybe some of them are kind and understanding like Caitlyn
Georgina! Thank you so much for revisiting. It’s so awesome to get more insight! Not everyone would go back and revisit things they missed. That makes me love you and your content even more.
i really enjoyed doing it
I think Caitlyn also realizes that Vi will be able to protect her if she gives up her gun, as long as Caitlyn can get her the medicine and get her back on her feet. With Vi injured, Caitlyn has been doing the protecting, but if Vi is able to fight then Caitlyn feels safe relinquishing that role. It's not just indicative of the care she feels for Vi but also the trust she's developed.
9:00 damn I never noticed that,
crazy how many small details are hidden in just a few frames in this show. I feel like much of it does add up subconsciously but I never cease to find new stuff with every comment and breakdown video i see
There’s just so many great examples packed into a handful of episodes.
it was very well made and thought out
When I saw Vi's reaction to Caitlyn sitting with that women I also saw undertones of Vi reevaluating. "Do we really have a connection? Is she like this with every girl? She's so comfortable with that woman who isn't me, does that mean *our* connection is less?" There are so many complex emotions on Vi's face. It's beatiful to watch.
Havent watched this yet but just wanted to say I love your analysis videos especially cause I’m currently studying psychology
good luck on your studies and i hope you like the video
@@GeorgiaDow Thank you very much :)
0:18 i thought this was what you implied in the last video already when you said vi thought "she was right about her"
yes but not that specifically
You videos are always so enjoyable to watch and you totally weren't wrong. It's natural to miss some stuff.
thanks =) kind of you
