What all started at a garage sale in Jacksonville, Rolling Stone Magazine recently named Derek Trucks one of the "100 Greatest Guitar Players" of all time.
Obviously Derek is incredible but people don't talk enough about Susan's phenomenal tone and vocals...Just incredible...Her and Bonnie are very much alike
Derek plays with so much soul , he and Stevie Ray are my all time favourites, but it doesn't really matter. Lets enjoy the pleasure music gives us. This band is wonderful, Susan's voice is magic.
I've been a drummer for 40 years I'm 50 now just had my 3rd heart attack and epilepsy has just now slowly slowing down every day trying to find work living on ssd since 95. Never could explain what your music does to my soul, you will never know how much you help me and help push me every day. God bless the entire band and bless u 2 and your family.. Keep doing what your doing. Thank u Tommy and family
I won't pretend there are not others. I love Derek..also Eric Saw Derek 4 times..Eric 7 times from 93 up to the Clapton Winwood tour..with Ginger Baker..and that was pure Cream. Also both Chicago Crossroads guitar Fests. And his Nothing But the Blues tour..was steaming around '93. The Reptile/ Pilgrim Tour had an exquisite orchestra. plus gut- twisting new songs that are still on fire. Eric is now due in the Midwest..or, the heartland that isn't able to fly or drive in 800 miles..to NYC or. L.A., near his home. Time , money, and yes, like Eric, aging troubles are not unique to rock stars! Not everyone can travel first class to distant concerts. Maybe he will find a space around Chicago soon..we never skip over Eric..ever! its only been since that Clapton The top is where MANY greats are..in live sessions or on recordings.. cheers.
In a often cynical world, it's stories like this that give me hope for the future of music. I was fortunate enough to meet Susan and Derek in L.A. last year.. and they really are as humble and genuine as they appear.
I was driving past their house one day and saw Derek walking down the sidewalk on the other side of their house. He had his hair tucked into his shirt, but I knew it was him. I honked and he turned and we waved at each other ...
I drive past their house all the time and keep wishin' I could turn in and say, "I'm HERE! Let's jam!" SO glad for their success, and so proud! Jacksonville does it again!
So glad I came across the band 2or 3 years ago, I've seen them 3 times in concert now, I'm completely blown away by them, Susan in the best vocalist I've ever heard, she sings with passion.
I live in New Zealand and had never heard of Derek Trucks or Susan Tedeschi until the recent Eric Clapton show in memory of Jeff beck. And they have both blown me away. I do not believe that I will be the only one after watching that show on you tube. I am into Jazz and the blues. Out of all the stars on that show they stood out the most. You could tell they were lovely people. I am in my seventies.
As a child of the 60s and 70s and having had the wonderful fortune of seeing most of the greats, TTB just makes me feel like there is still a great future in music. My grandson who is 12 called me earlier this year and said “Paw Paw, don’t you really like the Blues?” I said YES! He said I have to write a blues song for school and he sang me his first three verses. Not bad 😁👌. I thought to myself Oh Lord we have a chance 😂
If their love is like their music then it's really exiting !! Wish them both to keep it alive forever ! All the best from Germany ! Maybe we can have them for a concert here !
We are all blessed that this band is going. Go see them. I'm 60 and I've seen lots of the greats through the years....none better than this bunch.....peace !
Been going to concerts for over 50 years, the TTB is one of the best I’ve ever heard. But, it’s the B not just the T & T that brings the show. Can’t wait to see them live again - truly, magic.
I just discovered this band, and I am soo happy I did. Typical case of better late than never. God bless you all for having made such beautiful music and Thank You :-)
These are the first tix I buy every year for summer, outdoor concert season. I've seen them too many times to count. The entire band ALWAYS pour out their hearts and souls. Best live band in existence! See you in NH in July. You won't see us but we'll be there loving every second of it! Thanks for the music.
I saw the TTB last weekend at the Stiefel Theater and they are one of the few "new" musical acts that play with enough soul and energy that are worth seeing and TTB is one, Great 12 piece band.
Ha it all clicks now that I have heard that Susan nd Derek are partners it really kicks the chemistry on stage and overall sound. Fantastic thanks for your music.
Many years ago My youngest brother knowing how I loved the blues turned me on to Susan. And to top that off she ends up Marrying Derek who is a member of my all time favorite band The Allman Brothers. The icing on the cake is when they formed TTB. Both Just great musicians and oh can that lady sing! 🥰😍❤️✌️
Just drove past their house a few minutes ago. I didn't hear nothin' ... And why'd they leave ME off that list? Yeh. Lyrics go away as fast as they come ... Very proud of these kids, that's for sure. God bless 'em!
I remember seeing these guys in Melbourne Aus afew years ago and Susan lost her voice after about 4 songs and the back up singers took over. They didn't miss a beat...and the backing band played a killer jam for about 20mins. Mr Trucks was on fire that night,i think he was a little pissed over the whole thing. Amazing impromptu gig.
When you get to the Level of players like Derek and Hendrix n Clapton, it's difficult to rate their talent level. All of the "Greats" have a distinct sound. Derek is probably the easiest to pick out of a crowd. His " No Pick Required" style is VERY unique. The next "Distinctive" sound player is probably SRV or Santana. I've been fortunate enuff to have seen all 3 several times each.
Derek is still so humble. Met him when he was 9-10 in a little club in Atlanta with his Uncle Butch promoting him. Derek's entire family was there.. I spoke to Derek, & he was just a really unusually nice kid. He seems to have stayed the same. At the end of the set at that little club in Atlanta, the family loaded themselves up onto an old school bus---word was they were headed to the North Carolina coast. They took off for the ride well after midnight......Derek was 9-10, his little brother was there....who also took a turn on the drums. Just so happy to see him happy. He knew to avoid the darkness, & his light shines bright.
I THINK I saw Derek when I was a bouncer at a Downtown riverfront restaurant-bar called Harbormasters. They had a band playing one Sat. afternoon and this kid comes out to play and everybody jaw dropped. Somebody help me out if they know.
Obviously Derek is incredible but people don't talk enough about Susan's phenomenal tone and vocals...Just incredible...Her and Bonnie are very much alike
Yep she's got tons of talent and I think her voice has matured into one of the best.
Derek plays with so much soul , he and Stevie Ray are my all time favourites, but it doesn't really matter. Lets enjoy the pleasure music gives us. This band is wonderful, Susan's voice is magic.
you hit the nail on the head !!

Great to hear!
I was driving past their house one day and saw Derek walking down the sidewalk on the other side of their house. He had his hair tucked into his shirt, but I knew it was him. I honked and he turned and we waved at each other ...
Had the pleasure of meeting Derek twice in Canada -- once in Montreal and once in Ottawa. He is insanely humble and genuine. A true gentleman.
Kind people, amazing talent, always paying homage to people like Leon Russell, Etta James, BB King
Susan is amazing and still; young, beautiful and a fantastic singer and musician. Thank you Derek and Susan.
I drive past their house all the time and keep wishin' I could turn in and say, "I'm HERE! Let's jam!" SO glad for their success, and so proud! Jacksonville does it again!

@@texasmade6547 Not sayin'! Sorry.
His guitar and her voice, what a marriage!

My all time favorite rock guitarist....every solo is memorable, drenched in heart and soul...

We are all blessed that this band is going. Go see them. I'm 60 and I've seen lots of the greats through the years....none better than this bunch.....peace !
They mesh so well, both have remained down to earth and they make incredible music.
Been going to concerts for over 50 years, the TTB is one of the best I’ve ever heard. But, it’s the B not just the T & T that brings the show. Can’t wait to see them live again - truly, magic.
