It floors me how soft-spoken Susan is. Can you imagine the reaction when she first belted out a song? I'll bet they were scraping people off of the floor. Many performers who are gentle, quiet people sort of morph into an alter ego when they take the stage. It never ceases to amaze me. I believe the union of Susan and Derek works perfectly in so many ways, and the creativity and energy from joining forces is pure magic for the listener!
I work with a guy who seen her when she was first starting out at a gig near Cape Cod and was totally blown away by her performance. I've been a fan since Revelator.
Wow, if what I am hearing is correct, then that great spirit of the 60's and 70's has returned with music that does not cater for flash-in-the-pan fashions, but exists because we are Human and need to create a sound to carry our pain, heartaches, glory and Joy-bless you guys and I hear you. XXX
Duane Allman and Koko Taylor are smiling down from heaven at this match......some of the most talented and soulful musicians I have ever heard....musical history in the making!!!!!
I've already shared this... if people don't know about you, they should. The talent, drive, motivation and love of music comes through so clearly. I'm so happy to be a part of it as a listener and music fan.
This is so great. Such insight. Haven't heard an album, or seen a band who've moved me so much for years. The gig in Paris is still running through my veins. I play the album and smile at the memory (only last week). Thanks guys. Susan's so right. People DO want to be moved by the music. And oh yes, we really are :-)
Been lucky enough to see these guys a few times at Byron Bluesfest downunder in Aus. First time I went there for other bands but now they’re my number 1 choice. Sooooo good live, her gorgeous voice, his unbelievable guitar playing and what a band 👌 Go see ‘em
They look like KIDS!! After so many years of excellence to stumble on this video was like finding a warm and fuzzy keepsake I was able to hold in my hand and cherish the memories of how great this band/family has become. They have stepped out of the shadow of the Allmans into a bright light they worked so hard to deserve!
I like the way she looks at her husband on stage. It appears that she still has that glow for him, as if she just fell in love with him all over again. That is so rare to see now a days. Oh I hope she will be blessed with the best of health and happiness as she and her husband labor with their musical talents that will enrich our soul for many days to come, and generations to come will be blessed as her music passes on to them. I hope her and her husband have a wonderful ongoing marriage.
Marcus, yes! I want to be in this band, not just because I am good enough, but because they are all such lovely folks! Did you ever hear anyone say they'd like to live in a "Leave it to Beaver neighborhood"? Tedeschi-Trucks are the "Leave it to Beaver" of bands.
They did, "The Sky Is Crying" At the Royal Albert Music Hall. SMH! I've never seen a performance like it in person, in a movie, a television show or on RUclips. I probably watched it 300 times. It is so uplifting. There's a couple of versions so be sure to watch all. That combination of talent reminds me of, "Hitsville! The Making Of Motown" yeah.
I LOVE THIS ALBUM!!! its been playing non-stop in my house......even my kids are singin' along! How cool would it be if this won ALBUM OF THE YEAR at this years grammys!!!
Yall make me FEEL. Yall definitely inspire me. I just want more! I saw you open for the Black Crowes this past year and I'm aching for more. More. MORE!
They always have such a look of professional focus on stage. It's really great to see their personal side, it brings a little something extra to the music! On a side note, the Burbridge brothers are killer!
What a vintage blues voice that will bless and soothe many a wearied soul through life's journey from the craddle to the grave. It seems like every generation is blessed with their prodigys for music , math, the sciences, in every facet of life, and now we know who this generation's female blues prodigy is, Susan, and yes, one other, Beth Hart. These two women will probably never be equaled by any other. She really seems to be one sweet soul. I like the way she looks at her husband on stage.
Brother this little woman can sing, and yes, I mean really sing. I just found out about her a few weeks ago, I know, "Where have I been"? At the white house when she sang: I Would Rather Go Blind, she carried the show, what a voice, what a voice. I have had to listen to her sing that song over and over again. There is a girl I know that lives in Palmer , Tennessee, that is her twin. I am so amazed I never heard of her before, but the secret is out now, and praise God for her talent.
I have a new obsession or is it an addiction, idk, call it whatever you want I guess! All I know is I can't get enough of Tedeschi Trucks. The band in its entirety is absolutely amazing but Susan and Derek are so incredible, as musicians as husband and wife and as two visionaries who knew what they wanted to create but took the time to make sure they got it right! It's perfection! I love listening to their interviews too, they really are an awesome couple but its Susan's speaking voice grabs me mostly, lol. I just can't figure out where that sweet, almost squeaky femine girly voice (it is sweet) fits in with that big powerful bluesy ballsy voice up on stage!
WOW! Derek and the band are so damn tight!! It's like everyone is feeding off the moment. And Susan's speaking voice is so soft & tender... BUT when she sings!!! Maybe it's just my preference, but I love the way her mouth curls to the side when she's "belting" a song out!! Awesome recordings! This band is a blessing...
Blues, R & B, gospel, rock, funk all rolled into one. Susan's Aretha Franklin influences stand out, as do Derek's Indian ragas. And the rest of the band are no slouches. Sorry I missed them when the played Columbus OH last week.
hey Susan and Derek, If your doing nothing on April 5 2014, come to Western Australia, would love you guys to do a private show and be a part of my back yard 50th birthday bash. Throw in some concerts while your here and make lots of Aussies happy. Great sound, keep it up, Cheers Glen
She's so cute and awesome.Cool green Telecaster signed by some IMPORTANT people in her life I'm sure.Seeing them at the MANN Music Center in August. Can't wait.Good place for them to play too because it's partially outdoors and everyone is usually stoned
I am seeing them on Oct 15 at a small venue that holds a little under 2000 people. It's in less than 2 weeks and there are still plenty of tickets available. I figured it would sell out fast!
@Shaneofearth I saw them on the 22nd in San Fran, met Derek in back of the theatre before the show. The show was sick. Sick I tell you! Derek did some super-human stuff.
It kills me that this video has only 39k views, but freaking Justin Bieber has videos with over 39 MILLION! The future of music is but a tiny glimmer of hope in an otherwise horrifying world of bubble-gum pop and computer-generated noise.
@SHnoregrets1979 The Allman Brothers had 2 drummers and they had cool and unique sound. Joe Bonamassa used 2 drummers @ Royal Albert Hall and it sounded amazing. I guess this is the sound he wants.

The new era of Allman Brothers musical quality is now in this band.
Awesome how Derek, a guitarist without equal, is about elevating his wife and her amazing voice. Self sacrifice has it's blessings.

lps moonrose absolutely

Her talking voice is so lovely.

Her speaking voice is so dainty, but that sing voice is in a different ballpark. In a good way.
I'm SO GLAD These 2 GREAT ARTISTS Merged To Form A Band LIKE NO OTHER!!!
They look like KIDS!! On top of being great musicians who make great music, they're just so damn cute together! Can't wait for this CD!
How can anyone be so good. Take my heart for another ride! Excellent thanx gotta go and listen to this album again!
What a thrilling dynamic this band has! We feel and sense the love.
I have this album. God they are so talented. Superb and such a talented band. Long may they reign.
It used to be Little Feat and Bonnie Rait but now it’s definitely Tedeschi Trucks. I hope they play the UK again soon.

For the sake of music!!!
All about the soul.... blessings to these wonderful people!!!
You inspire me!!!

these guys are poised to take over the world. I'm on board. I'll follow gladly.

Nice to see a homegirl rocking out!
She`s talking the truth....these people are palying the music , not a sequencer. Lets bring flesh back into the picture, house brothers.
Does anyone know any details on how they record their live albums? Would love to know that. Some of the best live albums ever.

@Shaneofearth I saw them on the 22nd in San Fran, met Derek in back of the theatre before the show. The show was sick. Sick I tell you! Derek did some super-human stuff.
I assisted the band in finding the location for the vacant building scenes in the video
