    I own a Toyota Crown and it is the best car I have ever owned! I have had it for 18 years and we ordered in 1999 when there was a model change! The Crown shown here is an Athlete which is more sporty, whereas mine is a Majesta too if the line. Which was mainly used as a chauffeur driven car by executives. Great car, timeless styling, and top quality! 😋

    One more XC-90 testimonial. Minivan doing 60 mph (running from the police) t-boned an XC-90 over my curb and into my front yard! The minivan was demolished, the XC-90 only had surface damage at the point of impact (to the body, the axels were bent and all of the tires had ruptured...), the frame and cage did not give up even 1/4 of an inch. Everyone inside the Volvo was OK, not so much for the mini-van.....

    I personally would take the Toyota Crown just off the comfort and proven reliability.
    The Volvo is nice also but some of the trucks and cars of certain years had issues and I mean a consultation to the junk yard issues!🔧🤣😅👍🏽🇺🇸🇯🇲

    • @roboticvenom1935
      @roboticvenom1935 6 лет назад +1

      Junior Lexus I guess but the crown is rwd, is powered by a boring engine that doesn't make much power and the xc90 of his year is just as reliable with the maintenance being way better lol. Xc90 is AWD, V8, and such a better daily

    • @JuniorLexus6692
      @JuniorLexus6692 6 лет назад +2

      Robotic Venom the difference is that a Toyota is reliable consistantly while the Volvo is only average certain selected years i guess because that particular Volvo is borrowing a Japanese engine....Volvo can learn alot from the Japanese especially in the electrical department when it comes to wiring and reliability.
      Ps... there is alot of Volvos in the junk yard.

    • @manah56
      @manah56 6 лет назад +1

      Yamaha was owned by Ford back then. They might still be but I'm not sure. It's a Yamaha engine for sure, and its sound is music to the ears! Just search Volvo S80 V8.

    • @JDMHaze
      @JDMHaze 6 лет назад +1

      manah56 Yamaha makes some mean engines, they made several for Toyota including the LFA motor And I'm not sure if they have something to do with one of the supras But I do remember their involvement in the S80,, I just know one of those XC90s had a Ford engine that was sourced from the Explorer/land rover because ford owned them too

    • @manah56
      @manah56 6 лет назад

      Yeah there was an engine that was initially designed to be shared with the other european brands within the group. There were two variants of that engine: a 3.2 naturally aspirated and a more powerful turbo charged 3.0L. A pretty good engine and a very reliable one. Volvo had used Ford's 4 cylinders engines for years before they finally came up with their own VEA family engines back in 2014. The only pure in-house engine used by Volvo during the Ford era was the 5-cylinder one.

    Isn't the Crown the equivalent of the Lexus GS in the USA (and back in the 1990s the equivalent of the former Toyota Cressida)? That Volvo while standard was very much a complicated car to build as the owner described - a joint venture of Yamaha and Volvo and not the most reliable thing out there, but pretty good performance. Tough match up but I am guessing as always since Toyota is involved and it is Scotty's channel, it will win.

    • @Buc_Stops_Here
      @Buc_Stops_Here 6 лет назад +1

      Thanks, those were my guesses because of the inline 6 which is what those models used. Does the LS use an inline 6? I thought it had a V8?

    • @Buc_Stops_Here
      @Buc_Stops_Here 6 лет назад +2

      Then this cannot be the LS - it is the cars I mentioned (Lexus GS and Toyota Cressida) because this crown has an Inline 6 - the video says that. You confirmed what I thought, thanks.

    • @Buc_Stops_Here
      @Buc_Stops_Here 6 лет назад +1

      Yes, V6 but not Inline 6 - so you settled what I thought, that cannot be a LS. Thank you.

    If you can afford to run that Volvo I guess it's okay, I have been in a XC90 with the 3.2 litre V8 and it doesn't get much better than 16L -100km. One thing I did notice is the plastic parts in the cabin are subpar and break very easy. I would go with the Toyota myself as I know the cost of repairs for a Volvo.

    The problem with Volvo's is that their so exclusive with their fluids (i.e. coolant, oil, power steering fluid, brake fluids, etc...) The Toyota you can likely find parts for and get things easier for not to mention non exclusives fluids. I'd probably say the Toyota Crown offers more.

    My mom has a 2007 XC90 V8. I love the engine in that car but hate everything else. We had to replace transmission at 80,000 miles. And the interior is falling apart. And for a garage kept car the wood on the steering wheel has cracked twice. First wheel was replaces under warranty.

    TOYOTA CROWN is one of the best sedans on this planet, period. My family owns an inline-6 3.0 Royal Saloon with 220K km on it, not a single repair, chassis is still nimble and smooth like new - not exaggerating at all. Toyota should do the world a favor by selling Japan built Crown to everywhere in the world.
