Definitely the best video on the K4 on RUclips Mark! I used mine for the first time last week and have a 10 metre rubber hose, In2detailing stubby gun and angled extension arriving today, can't wait! Very impressed with the MJJC cannon which I also have arriving today, really looking forward to seeing how that performs with my Bilt Hamber Auto Foam. Pretty sure I saw you on Jon's FDC Patreon this week? Sticks and bodywork is all I'll say! 👍👍
Thank you Steve, sounds like a good set up you have! 10m would probably have been enough for me too but now I can wash 2 cars in the drive without moving the machine lol And yes, no sticks for me 😬😬🤣
Can't help thinking Karcher are missing out by not selling a comprehensive car detailing set up. Of course, with a mjjc included. Called "Karchare" perhaps. Maybe not. Seriously thouugh, my local Karcher outlet even told me about evacuating air from the hose first.
That's definitely an idea - as much as I like the Kärcher machines, the standard foam lance is absolutely pointless lol It always amazes me, the number of people who DON'T force the air out 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

Very good video Mark, and very well presented!! I have both k4 and k2 ,and you are right about the hose and the Lance 👍👍. My k2 is 5 years old still going, it is good for when I’m out to customers, doesn’t hold much room in the boot of my car. And the k4 you feel the difference in pressure.I’ve got a 10 m hose and the same sort of adjustments as you have. So Mark you come a long way and I’m proud of your achievements with RUclips! Totally agree and this is almost identical to my setup, but I do still switch back to the bigger original trigger for some jobs, patio head cleaner on extension bars and the original Karcher undercarriage cleaner are far more comfortable with the original trigger gun, over a stubby.
Can't disagree there Dave, especially for the patio... The bigger one is a lot easier on the grip/wrist for prolonged use! Stubby can take its toll after an hour of constant use lol 👍🏼
I bought the k4 new series by watching the videos. It has no problems in washing the floor and car, but the drain opening apparatus does not work with pressure. I called the customer services many times to take it to the service, then I took it to the service, but this way it is without pressure. It was said after the test they did that it worked. I can say that it was a failed apparatus. They did not receive a refund. My money was a baton.

Hi. I've got K2 and actually planning change probably to K4. Did you ever tried used bucket water? That's the only available water source for me and I'm not sure if K4 has stronger pump, good enough for my situation. Tom
Hi Tom. Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and comment 🙂👍 The honest answer is I've never used it from a bucket/water container but Kärcher themselves do say it is possible - they do recommend their own hose - amzn.to/3SJReHX - but I'm not sure if that's necessary or just marketing 🤷🏻♂️ Like I say I haven't done so myself as I'm lucky to have access to running water but Kärcher themselves DO say it's possible 👍
Hi Sparklean Autos, thanks for the video. I am thinking to buy this unit but am unsure about a point, please see if you could help. The intention is to clean house/building walls using K4, how good it is to clean painted walls, and how high the water could go? Would it cover a two-story building with sufficient pressure to clean the high-reaching areas such as the eaves? Many thanks
Hi Sulaiman. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I wouldn't be qualified to answer your question accurately as I only use this machine for vehicle maintenance and occasional domestic jobs (cleaning patio etc). All I can say is, it is intended for domestic purposes only, it is not an industrial machine and would possibly not be sufficient for the jobs you've mentioned. This is just my opinion though, perhaps contacting Kärcher via their website would be the best way to answer your question. 👍🏼
Hi mate, just a quick question. I have a similar setup but my foam come out too powerful when using the gun attachment. I saw that this wasnt a problem for you in the video. Did you have the pressure washer on? Thanks
Hi mate. Yes pressure washer was on, otherwise there probably wouldn't be enough flow to pick up foam solution from the bottle. If you're finding you're getting too much foam, adjust the knob at the top until you get the consistency you need 👍🏼 Hope that helps.
Hi Luke, not a problem. This is the one I purchased - www.directhoses.net/products/karcher-style-replacement-rubber-longlife-hose-quick-fit-connections I went for 15m 👍🏼
I see your point - in the video I did use the term '5-10 minutes' which is a bit vague. 2-3 minutes is probably fine but it's definitely a necessary step. I've never had a Kärcher fail on me and I always follow this process.
@@SparkleanAutosI personally agree with you to keep water running through for at least 5 minutes. I work in industrial plant, you have no idea how many equipment get damaged due to lack of priming/venting.
Hi there, I’m going through snow foams really quickly with my upgraded short trigger and snow foam bottle. Is the machine locked to 3 being the highest pressure? Or is there a way of reducing the pressure output with upgraded connections? I’m stumped
There is no control over the machine output but your problem should be easily resolved by adjusting the pick-up dial at the top of the foam lance... There's no 'one size fits all' setting but play around with it until you find a setting that suits you 👍🏼
Excellent revue. In fact the best I have seen due to your coverage of the accessories - thank you. I will buy a K4 particularly because of the suction hose. With very hard London water, I thought to give my new car a final rinse with deionised water from a bucket. I have, for a long time, used a container of deionised water in conjuction with a microfibre towel but it's not quite a rinse, more of a wet wipe. I would love to have fuller details of the accessories you bought particularly the replacement hose but also the gun and the other parts. Does the replacement hose come with the required K4 fittings. Thank you in advance for the information.
Hi Brendan and thank you for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate the kind words! The replacement hose was from directhoses.net - it's a 15m wire-reinforced rubber hose. They come in different lengths from 5m-30m but I wouldn't recommend getting any longer than you actually need as obviously the longer the hose, the more strain it is putting on the pump. It could lead to a loss of pressure or worst case, machine failure. I've been using the 15m hose for about 18 months now with no issue. As I also demonstrated in the video, priming the machine first of all to remove any air is highly recommended! See link for the hose below but do double check your own fittings 👍🏼 www.directhoses.net/products/karcher-style-replacement-rubber-longlife-hose-quick-fit-connections As for the other parts, I can't actually remember where I got my particular trigger but I have found similar ones with same spec. How you doing mate? I realised at the end of the video with the 2 machines beside each other, they have different guns. What gun do you have on the k4 and does it make a difference? Btw great review 👍
Hi Conan - yes I use a short trigger most of the time - it is actually interchangeable between both machines, as is the hose. I do find it a lot more practical, particularly for areas with restricted space (underneath, wheel arches etc.) Or even if your restricted for space in general (narrow driveway with fence/wall restricting space!)
