      I don't have any decking so can't speak from experience but I suspect that the dirtblaster lance might be too aggressive for wood. Karcher recommend using a surface cleaner if you have one www.kaercher.com/uk/home-garden/how-to-guides/pressure-washers/patio-deck-cleaning.html

      Hi David, to go into mix mode you just turn the vario lance to minimum power (fully clockwise). Alternatively, if you use a foam cannon or simply remove the lance, the k4 will enter mix mode.

    How did you get the hose to pull through the hole when unwinding? Mine kinked severely about 5 times on first use. I've given up and the hose no longer passes through the hole in main Assembly, I just coil it up and hang it on the back.

      I gave up on it as well after a while and did the same thing. After battling with it for 6 months, I changed the plastic hose for a 10m reinforced rubber hose and found that upgrading made a big difference. This video shows how I did it: ruclips.net/video/_mPLwbM-vvQ/видео.html

    Hello Big Ted. Thanks for the video. After assembly of my K4 I have 2 small screws left over. No idea where they're supposed to go....
    What would you nozzle/power setting would you suggest for cleaning wood stain and bird droppings off a wooden deck ? Thanks.

    • @bigtedshome
      @bigtedshome  3 года назад +1

      Hi Roderick. As far as I'm aware there should be 8 small screws, 2 go into the top of the lance holder, 4 hold in the lance visor and 2 to secure the handle. Watch the video between approx 4:20 and 5:40 to see where they go. I'm sorry but I don't have any decking so can't really help you with your second question. I would think it would depend on the condition of the wood and would suggest starting on the lowest power and working up.

      Thanks Big Ted. I'll take your advice regarding the pressure settings.
      WRT the leftover screws: my instruction bucklet shows a picture E and refers o two screws "b" and "c", but for the life of me I can't find the location pictures ! If the pressure washer flies apart when I start it up I'll know I dropped the ball :-)

    • @bigtedshome
      @bigtedshome  3 года назад

      I don't have my assembly instructions anymore but I can't see how any of the screws would affect the safety of your pressure washer. They are just used to attach the peripherals like the lance stand and handle. I would just give all of these a pull to make sure they are secure before using it. Good luck 🙂

    Fantastic video, just what I needed, thank you. I do have a (very amateur) question with regards to the setup. I have recently had an outside tap fitted, however I haven't needed to use it yet, so I haven't bought any hoses/connectors/adapters. My question is, what do I actually need to buy in order to attach to the outside tap to the Karcher machine itself. I know that a hose will be needed, but with regards to the connectors I am a little clueless being as I have never needed one before. Any help (and possibly a website link to which product(s)) would be very much appreciated. Thanks so much.

    • @bigtedshome
      @bigtedshome  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for the great feedback. To connect your pressure washer to your outside tap, you will need a tap connector to screw onto your outside tap, 2 hose connectors, a hose and I would recommend a hose reel. Assuming a 25m hose will be long enough for you, this kit contains everything you should need: amzn.to/4a1HUoB
      Also available at Screwfix if you don't use amazon: www.screwfix.com/p/hozelock-2-in-1-reel-with-hose-25m/63087

    How come I can’t connect the end of the hose into the handle? It comes out at the slightest tug and when the water turns on it leaks everywhere

    • @bigtedshome
      @bigtedshome  Год назад

      The hose has a quick connect fitting which should click into place when you depress the yellow trigger and push the hose in far enough. Release the trigger and give the hose a good pull to test if it is located properly before turning on the water. It can take a few attempts to locate the hose fitting in the handle correctly but once it is secure it shouldn't leak.

    • @bigtedshome
      @bigtedshome  3 года назад

      Do you mean that you can't connect a hosepipe to the k4? If so, you will need a hose end connector on the end of the hosepipe. This will then push onto the water inlet towards the bottom left (as you look at it from the front) of the k4.

      If the hose is not already attached to the machine, you push it into the back of the machine and there is a U shaped metal clip that holds it in place. This video shows how to remove and fit a hose to the K4: ruclips.net/video/_mPLwbM-vvQ/видео.html

      Had 1st go today with new K4. Patio T5 cleaner is a game changer. Very impressed with it. Have to watch out that it doesn’t pick up bits of gravel, etc.
      Did you have 2 spare screws?? They go in the long dowels that fix the base in place.

      @beverleynorth4914 Thanks for the info re. the screws, I did get there eventually (with help from others on here) 🙂
      The hose is the first thing I would upgrade. Then if you intend to wash cars, I would recommend a short trigger gun and a foam cannon. There are videos featuring all of these upgrades on my channel.
      This video is important ruclips.net/video/F125OkLZwJo/видео.html as is not storing your K4 anywhere where the water inside it could freeze as the expansion could crack the pump.

    • @bigtedshome

      You can't as far as I'm aware. The k4 selects the correct pressure when you attach the patio cleaner (it does the same thing if you attach a foam cannon). You can adjust the pressure by turning the dial on top of the patio cleaner.

    Hi Big Ted, thanks for the video. I am thinking to buy this unit but am unsure about a point, please see if you could help. The intention is to clean house/building walls using K4, how good it is to clean walls, and how high the water could go? Would it cover a two-story building with sufficient pressure to clean the high-reaching areas such as the eaves? Many thanks

    • @bigtedshome
      @bigtedshome  Год назад +1

      The K4 is excellent for cleaning walls but you would not be able to clean a two story building with the supplied lances. The lance needs to be close to the wall to have enough pressure to clean it and using the lance from a ladder would be too dangerous. Karcher do make a telescopic lance which would appear to be ideal for your application. You can find he details here: amzn.to/3qycYb8
