Not only am I still in awe and reverence to God for His providence and arranging that I, and my sisters in Christ, attended this conference and participated in wonderful fellowship -- but now, how blessed we are to be able to listen again, add to our notes, and meditate on what we learned under powerful Christ-centered preachers, meditate on the verses we were led to, and not just hear, but act. Thank you G3 for a wonderful conference and your diligence in posting these teachings publicly!

    Psalm 50:1
    - The Mighty One,
    God the LORD,
Has spoken and called the earth
From the rising of the sun to its going down.
    2 Out of Zion,
    the perfection of beauty,
    God will shine forth.
    3 Our God shall come,
    and shall not keep silent;
A fire shall devour before Him,
And it shall be very tempestuous all around Him.
4 He shall call to the heavens from above,
And to the earth, that He may judge His people:
5 “Gather My saints together to Me,
Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”
6 Let the heavens declare His righteousness,
    For God Himself is Judge.

Thank you G3 for all your resources. But please do something about the LIVECHAT during the livestream. Some people just love to quarrel with each other while the speakers are passionately teaching God's words.
I honestly believe they do that on purpose to distract people from actually listening to the teachings.
Someone has to be in charge of real-time livechat monitoring for all livestream events of G3.

"None is righteous, no not one. There is none who understands, none who seeks for God."
      Romans 3: 10-11
“For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭3‬-‭9‬ ‭
“But I said to you that you have seen Me, and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day.”
      ‭‭John‬ ‭6‬:‭36‬-‭39‬ ‭
“Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.”
      ‭‭John‬ ‭8‬:‭34‬-‭36‬ ‭
“Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in My Father’s name, these testify of Me. But you do not believe because you are not of My sheep. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.”
      ‭‭John‬ ‭10‬:‭25‬-‭29‬ ‭
“The king’s heart is like channels of water in the hand of the Lord; He turns it wherever He wishes.”
      ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭21‬:‭1‬ ‭
“Then God said to him in the dream, “Yes, I know that in the integrity of your heart you have done this, and I also kept you from sinning against Me; therefore I did not let you touch her.”
      ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭20‬:‭6‬ ‭
“And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God with one accord and said, “O Lord, it is You who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them, who by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said, ‘Why did the Gentiles rage, And the peoples devise futile things? The kings of the earth took their stand, And the rulers were gathered together Against the Lord and against His Christ.’ For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose predestined to occur.”
      ‭‭Acts‬ ‭4‬:‭24‬-‭28‬ ‭
      All of Romans 9.
No man-concocted concept of FREE WILL can distort ALL OF SCRIPTURE.

Jonathan Edwards defined the term as follows: “The sovereignty of God is His absolute, independent right of disposing of all of His creatures according to His own pleasure.”
Now, just because God has the RIGHT of disposing of all of His creatures according to His own pleasure, that doesn’t necessarily mean that He DOES so. To answer that question, we need to dive deeper into the scriptures to see precisely how God rules (the purpose of this video), and when we do that, what we see in scripture is the meticulous providence of God, that is, that God ordains whatsoever comes to pass.

It's so puzzling to me that you can take a passage about how God's thoughts and ways are "unsearchable" and "inscrutable" and from there conclude that you know exactly what he is like with such precise certainty.
I'm not saying we can't know anything about God... but this sermon was not about Romans 11:33-36, it was about a scattered handful of passages, from disparate and disjointed contexts, twisted together to say something entirely different.
Most of what you're saying here is good, but there's so much assumption and jargon squeezed into every phrase.
I have one question that I can never seem to get a satisfying answer to. What do you mean when you talk about the "glory of God"? What is that? Why is it something that God values so highly that he is (according to this sermon) willing to trade the lives of hurricane and earthquake victims to get more of it? Is it a substance that can be quantified and measured? Or is it a state that can be achieved? And if so, why hasn't he done it yet (being eternal, and having had infinite time to get it done even before creating the universe)? If salvation and damnation are determined to maximize this "glory" - exactly how many peoppe have to shriek in agony for eternity for God's avarice for "glory" to finally be satiated? Can such a God ever be called loving, let alone good? To those who win the cosmic lottery, is it God's love or his all-devouring narcissism that holds them secure?
I guess my own bias is obvious. I despise this school of thought. It takes God and reduces his unsearchable judgements and inscrutable ways into a God we can understand all too well - because he is exactly like the tyrants and maniacs that opress and overwhelm us today. But my question is very serious. What *exactly* is meant by "glory" ? And how can such a God be called loving or good? I would be more thrilled to get an answer to this question than to bash on reformed soteriology for 1000 pages, or to convince anyone that it's wrong.

I’m going to answer your question with a question. Since you essentially ask everyone not to answer your question with any truth.
Why did you watch his sermon?
It is not because you’re searching after God.
Gods word is clear that you only search after God once you have been regenerated. So are you here because you believe Gods word is true…or because you are seeking to prove what is true to be false? The scriptures are clear about “reformed soteriology”. People hate it…but he is not “interpreting” scripture here, he is just reading it.

    • @paulring86

@josephbrandenburg4373 Excellent questions- and you're completely correct on the patchwork framing of disjointed statements that he used to cobble together a concept that seems based in deterministic philosophy more than it does in Biblical accounting. Ill defined terms combined with soaring rhetoric about glory without a sense of grounded references make for moving speeches, but they aren't a recipe for teaching about Gods characteristics. In fact it's quite the opposite.

    • @josephbrandenburg4373
      @josephbrandenburg4373 9 месяцев назад +1

@@paulring86 I just wish someone would answer it. Sadly I'm not surprised when I get the kind of answer I got in the first reply. But despite what that guy said, I really want an answer, and I have no intention of "proving" anything. I don't actually care that this guy has bad hermeneutics or exegesis or whatever. Those don't prevent him from being right, they just cast a shadow over his reasons... but if only someone would make an attempt to clarify, maybe I could come around to it.
I grew up in a denomination that taught all of this. And part of me still wants to believe it. But every time I hazard the time to listen to them... all I get is this kind of cynical abuse instead of even a tint bit of reflection, of introspection, of thought, given to answer my question. Oh well.
I suppose it would drive me away from the faith altogether if I didn't already think they interpreted the Bible all wrong. Because if I thought they were reflecting Christ, I would think Christ is very ugly. I don't recall a single instance of him responding with presumptions and cynicism when someone asked him a question - in fact, if I recall correctly, he would have dinner with the Pharisees and teach them privately. Even when they tried to trap him with false questions, he answered honestly - cutting straight through their trickery and giving them insight and truth in exchange for their deceit.
But there was a time where it really wore me down, and I can still feel its effects. What if God doesn't really want me? Then I suppose I'm just a lump of firewood, made to provide heat when I burn.

This is why it's hard for me to listen to these sermons for more than two minutes. It's not long at all before these pastors reference Paul, as if he wrote parts of the Word of God. They will invariably say, "Paul said", or "Paul teaches us..." It's a dreadful mistake virtually all pastors make and don't even realize it. This error seems small, but actually it's more huge than one can imagine. It plays right in to the hands of Satan. These men spoke, or wrote under the inspiration of God! God gets ALL the credit for ALL 66 books we call the Bible. Ultimately, Paul said nothing apart from what God put in him to speak! The BIBLE is, the Word of God!!!

Dude, you're a leader who will be held account for his sin:
    1. Pharisaicalism:
    a. Separatism, continual disregard for the wayward and the laggards, while you enjoy your chosen status
    b. Hypocrisy, not practicing what you preach, to wit:
1.) obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit
2.) conformity to the image of Christ
3.) catholicity in the one holy faith
4.) obedience to the written text, which you subject to
    2. Perversion of the Holy Scriptures
    a. Introduction of non scriptural notions:
1.) the division of the law of God into moral and ceremonial, while the Jews admitted no such division, nor did St. Paul
2.) the persistent obligation of obedience to the law upon all, Christians included, something the New Testament clearly does not say
3.) denial of the unique but overlapping functions of:
    a.) deacons
    b.) pastors
    c.) teachers
    d.) elders
    e.) overseers
4.) Cessationism, the pernicious doctrine that the apostolic powers ceased at some undeterminable point in the past, to be replaced with the written text, while that same text declares "the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable."
    b. other methodologies which have utility but are overemphasized at certain times to bulwark your tradition, while neglected at other times, as you find convenient:
1.) Context. Demanding that context is king, but wrestling unclear passages out of context to say what they might not be saying. For example using the "they" appeal of Romans 1 to condemn others to abjection, while not appreciated the "you" appeal of Romans 2: "You then who judge are guilty yourself, since you do the same things."
2.) Systematic theology: shoehorning everything into a Calvinist cookie cutter.
a.) You demand acceptance of a notion of "sovereignty" which is foreign to the Jewish and Greek scriptures, where in fact, He is called "almighty," that is to say, "super-sovereign," King OF Kings, Lord OF Lords. Instead you postulate Englihtenment political notions as doctrine. You even make Him a tyrant, denying free will to his creatures made in His own image.
b.) You postulate "decrees" which don't exist in the scripture. While the lamb is indeed "slain before the foundations of the world." (Or "since the foundations..." ) There is not any decree of reprobation. You may appeal to logic, but where scripture is silent, and the matter is moreover mysterious, we ought to be slow to speak.
And many other things you do; while straining at gnats you swallow camels.
Therefore repent yourselves and work toward Christian unity in the bond of peace.

God is sovereign the way the Bible teaches. God controls and determines what will come to pass, but is not the author of sin and man is still responsible. You see this all over scripture. Genesis 45:5-8, 50:20, Proverbs 16:9, 21:1, Psalm 136:6-12, Isaiah 10:5-15, 46:9-11, Daniel 4:34-35, Acts 2:23, 4:27-28, John 6:37-44, Ephesians 1:4-5, Romans 8:28-30, and 9:6-24 are just some of the many verses that talk about God's sovereignty based on the content, context, and grammar of the passages. We should never lower God's sovereignty to that of a human leader who has authority, but no control. Sinful man is limited in every sense, but God is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, infinite, eternal, and self-existent. If you relegate His sovereignty to less than what scripture reveals, you effect other attributes of God and then He is no longer the God of scripture.
