Divine exhaustive determinism is not Biblical, but it does tickle the ears of those who are philosophically predisposed to hearing such things. This is a religion, but not one that considers the Bible its source of truth. Jeremiah 19:5, Deut 30:9

Limited Devine sovereignty is even less coherent. Not to accept the clear external word just because it leads logically to an uncomfortable conclusion is to abandon the objective in favor of the subjective.
The sovereignty of God is a strawman for the establishment of Calvinist doctrines. No one makes an issue of God's omnipotence, yet Calvinism needs it to be the foundation of its heresy that challenges the righteousness of God, insisting that God arbitrarily saves, and condemns men before the are even born. That would indeed make God as unrighteous as any man. But Calvinists cannot see that the righteousness of God is valued above sovereignty. God sacrificed his son as an atonement, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God Rom 3:25. Moreover, the terms sovereignty and sovereign are not directly mentioned. But God is omnipotent, without a doubt. Beware of many mentions of the words, "sovereignty of God". Rest assured that the wresting of scriptures is to follow, and the feigning of ignorance when the asked the hard questions that challenge Calvinist doctrine. For example, Why is it necessary to preach the gospel if men are saved and condemned before birth?
OMGoodness... Is THAT how you start your Biblical message - with tons of negative news? I had to turn you off in the first three minutes. With messages like this, it's it any wonder people are running away from Christianity!!!??? Jesus did NOT minister this way. How about sharing The Good News.
I think you may have missed why he began with "negative news". His topic is the sovereignty of God so he begins with terrible things that have happened and it is these kinds of things that lead people to ask, "Where was God when this happened?" or, "How could a loving God allow this to happen?" Since he spoke of his best friend dying when his wife was 10 weeks pregnant was another example of bad things happening to people and the inevitable questions asked. His point is clear if you listen to all of the sermon - God is sovereign, even in things that are horrible to us.
We question your definition of Sovereignty ! Sovereignty simply means rule. God does not determine eternal destinies, or damn people to glorify Himself. Jesus came to give Himself for a ransom for all. God desires all to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.
Ephesians 1 1. Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus: 2. Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. 3. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4. According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5. Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6. To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

The Spiritual blessing was chosen before the foundation of the world, not people. Nowhere does this say people are chosen to be in Christ. We do not enter the Kingdom through adoption, but by being born again. The Adoption is the redemption of our body, yet future, when we are resurrected Romans 8:23. Lest you return with Romans 9-11 being about God’s decree about eternal destinies, it’s not there either. Romans 9-11 is about the Nation of Israel refusing to receive their Messiah, stumbling over the stumbling stone, Jesus Christ in unbelief, wanting still to attain salvation through the Law of Moses and Israel is angry that the Gentiles are entering by faith. Jews can and encouraged to believe in Jesus and can be grafted back into their own Olive tree. God Bless.

Great sermon not only preaching the majesty of God from Scripture but heralding it like Spurgeon would artistically

'Chose you out of a sea of depraved sinners' such a powerful statement.
A perversion of God's sovereignty.
