  • As King of all creation, God exercises His sovereignty throughout the world. But how sovereign is sovereign? Are there realms in the created universe where God does not govern? Does God have the ability to save everyone? If He does, then why didn't He? Dr. Sproul considers these questions in this message as he teaches us about the relationship between human freedom and "God’s Sovereignty."
This is the 2nd in a series of messages by Dr. Sproul on God's salvation. See other videos in the series: • Chosen By God - R.C. S...

John 12:39 ¶ Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
Matt 21:31 Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.
Luk 7:29 ¶ And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.
30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.
God was teaching through John the Baptist. Those who refused to receive instruction were hardened in their unbelief so that they wouldn’t believe the Son either. They weren’t allowed into the new covenant so as to bring in the Gentiles......
Rom 11:7 ¶ What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.
9 ¶ And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:
10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.
11 ¶ I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
13 ¶ For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.
Paul was trying to make them jealous so as to bring about their salvation but they were already quite calloused from their continual rejection of God. It’s not as though God wasn’t working things out so that they would eventually believe.....
Rom 11:30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
      God bless.

I’m not certain with how the Samaritans fit into this. They seemed to be treated as part of Israel in that Jesus gave them the Gospel and preached among them as He did to the rest of Israel. He didn’t go to Gentiles and He told His disciples not to go to the Gentiles but they were told to go to the Samaritans.

I always crack a smile when I see Dr Sproul wearing a blue blazer in these videos. I'm an Anglican who visits a nearby PCA church on occasion and one Sunday, the minister, elders who had a part in that day's service and the deacons, by pure coincidence, all wore, blue Brooks Brothers style blazers. On my way out, I remarked to the minister that this was probably the closest thing to vestments that I'd ever see there. From henceforth, I think of this look in association with the PCA and that one Sunday that six or so men decided to wear the same thing on the same day.

The first early Christian theologian,Iraneus (ca,185)argued that the Chrsitian God was superior in power to the Gnostic god since he allowed free human choices and could still accomplish his plans.
Of the eighty-four pre-Augustinian authors studied from 95-430 CE,over 50 authors adressed the topic. All of these early Christian authors championed traditional free chooice against pagan and heretical Divine Unilateral Predetermination of Individual Eternal Destenies(DUPIED)
But prior Christian authors had rejected as heresy every pagan,Gnostic,Or Manachean anthropology with total inability to respond to God.This total inability required a divine "gift of faith by grace"and necessiated a unilateral fater choice by a false god or the Fates.

      10 as it is written: "None is righteous, no, not one;
11 no one understands; no one seeks for God.
12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one."
13 "Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive." "The venom of asps is under their lips."
14 "Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness."
      15 "Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16 in their paths are ruin and misery,
17 and the way of peace they have not known."
18 "There is no fear of God before their eyes." (Romans 3:10, ESV)
The issue isnt choice or agency but receiving faith from God to understand(have eyes opened) to the truth of ones deadness in sin. Its not an understanding of the words that a natural man can have but an understanding that the spiritual man has received.

      @apilkey 4 года назад +6

MusicInspire No it’s the the unbiblical perversion of God’s Sovereignty that people ha e a problem with and NOT the true scriptural doctrine of God’s Sovereignty.
Do you even know what the word Sovereignty means?
You can’t just hi-Jack the definition of sovereignty and give it our own definition to fit your beliefs.
**Sovereignty does NOT mean determinism, it means GOD IS IN CONTROL and His ability to do whatever He wants.
Sovereignty is translated from “LORD, LORD” and is not even found once in the KJV!
(It’s only found in the ESV 3 times).
Reformers wrongly define the concept of divine sovereignty as meaning “meticulous deterministic control over ever thing, including the evil intentions of creatures.”
The scriptures simply never teach this concept.
Instead, divine sovereignty is reflected as God’s ability to do whatever He is pleased to do (Ps. 115:3)
even if that may include giving the world over to creature’s free dominion (Ps. 115:16).
Here’s the definition of sovereignty would you like to submit a new definition to Miriam Webster?
You can make up your own definition of sovereignty all day long but scripture won’t bend to it and the dictionary is not going to re-write itself on your behalf either.
      *************************************
      MIRRIAM WEBSTER- SOVEREIGN
      SOVEREIGN - noun
      sov·er·eign | \ ˈsä-v(ə-)rən
1a: one possessing or held to possess supreme political power or sovereignty
b: one that exercises supreme authority within a limited sphere
c: an acknowledged leader : ARBITER
2: any of various gold coins of the United Kingdom
      SOVEREIGN - adjective
      1a: superlative in quality
b: of the most exalted kind : SUPREME sovereign virtue
      c: having generalized curative powers
      a sovereign remedy
d: of an unqualified nature : UNMITIGATED sovereign contempt
e: having undisputed ascendancy : PARAMOUNT
2a: possessed of supreme power a sovereign ruler
b: unlimited in extent : ABSOLUTE
c: enjoying autonomy : INDEPENDENT sovereign states
3: relating to, characteristic of, or befitting a supreme ruler : ROYAL
      a sovereign right
God’s Word and the BIBLICAL DEFINITION of sovereignty will not bend to your lower view of His sovereignty.
God will not be put in a man made box.
      Sovereignty= Supreme Power and Authority
God is definitely sovereign by the BIBLICAL AND TRUE DEFINITION OF SOVEREIGNTY and not by man’s definition imposed upon it in order for it to suit a certain systematic.
God is in complete 100% control of everything.
That doesn’t mean He’s meticulously controlling everything.
Please I encourage you to write in to the team at Miriam Webster and see if they’ll adopt your perverse and twisted definition of the word.
You have no clue what it means that God is Sovereign.
To you God has to do what you say to me Sovereign.
How about you just let God be God?

    • @apilkey
      @apilkey 4 года назад +1

StripedMC I believe in both God’s Sovereignty and predestination.
The BIBLICAL doctrines of sovereignty and predestination and NOT the reformer’s twisted made up definitions.
BIG DIFFERENCE that you need to clarify.
**QUESTION FOR YOU: Do you believe that it’s impossible for God to still be in control if man has free will?
QUESTION: Do you believe that the only way for God to be in control is if He meticulously determined and caused everything to take place?
...God’s sovereignty means He is absolutely free to do whatever He pleases and whatever He wills to do.
Among the things He’s free to do is to allow me to do what I please within the confines of the freewill that He was pleased to give me.
      Read that again slowly.
So when I make choices according to this freedom that God in His sovereignty was pleased to give me, it actually FULFILLS God’s sovereignty not detracts from it.
God is most glorified when we act in accordance with what He’s decreed, and one of the things that God was pleased to decree was the freewill of man.
      *********************************
So in an effort to deny that man has freewill is actually an attack on God and what’s He’s sovereignly decreed.
It’s a rebellious act that refuses to accept and submit to God’s character and to what He’s sovereignly decreed.
Such an act of rebellion actually DETRACTS from God’s glory, thus having the opposite effect that reformers intend by preaching against it.
It pleased God in His absolute sovereignty and divine control to grant man free will.
Do you have a problem with this or would you like to shake your fist and talk back to God and tell Him how He can only be Sovereign if He predetermines everything?
      ************************************
... According to Psalm 115:3 God does whatever He pleases:
      PSALM 115:3
3 But our God is in the heavens: HE HATH DONE WHATSOEVER HE HATH PLEASED.
** So we must then ask ourselves what has God done that’s pleased Him?
If we just KEEP READING in the very same chapter the author tells us exactly what it pleased God to do so we don’t have to assume we know:
      PSALM 115:16
16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's: BUT THE EARTH HATH HE GIVEN TO THE CHILDREN OF MEN.
**IT PLEASED GOD TO GIVE MAN DOMINION.
      ************************************
God sovereignly decreed not which choice man would make, BUT THAT HE WOULD BE FREE TO MAKE IT.
A God less than sovereign would be afraid to bestow genuine freedom to His creatures (*AW Tozer)
      ***********************************
God’s omniscience is FULL and COMPLETE in and of itself and is not dependant on Him needing to predetermine everything.
And He definitely doesn’t need us to tell Him He can’t be omniscient unless He does predetermine everything!
We’d then be limiting God to what we think He should be instead of just accepting and just resting in who He’s actually revealed Himself to be.
Wouldn’t we rather “expand” God by our opinion of Him?
A God who is STILL capable of being in control and still capable of working everything out for His good and His purpose DESPITE man’s freewill is a God that’s infinitely more powerful than a God who would not be able to do so.
Is it impossible for God to still be sovereign despite man’s freewill?
      Definitely not.
How could anyone limit God in saying it’s not possible?
Those who do may have a very low view of God’s ultimate power.
      What’s more impressive:
      1. A God who has to play BOTH sides of a chess board in order for Him to win?
      OR
      2. A God who only needs to play one side of the chessboard and is STILL guranteed to win every time no matter what possibility comes His way.
Even with the fickleness of man’s infinite number of different decisions God is STILL in control and He can turn it to His good no matter what.
To me that’s a truly impressive God.
By saying man has a free will to choose is not mocking God or stealing from His glory by saying that we have anything to do with salvation.
**It’s rather mocking Him by saying that God’s creation of man is somehow LACKING and that our sovereign God is INCAPABLE of creating man with the ability to choose whilst maintaining His sovereignty.
This makes a mockery of God.
You’re actually mocking God’s creation and downplaying all that the Lord has sovereignly given us.
      *********************************
Jesus’ heart isn’t breaking because His father didn’t choose some, His heart is breaking because they FREELY REJECTED HIM!
Full control does NOT mean full meticulous determinism.
He’s in control and knows every sparrow that falls to the ground and every hair on our head.
That doesn’t mean He caused the sparrow to fall down, but that He being in control ALLOWED IT AND WILL USE IT TO ACCOMPLISH WHATEVER HE WANTS.
**I believe God is soo incredibly sovereign that DESPITE the infinite number of fickle choices man could make God is STILL IN FULL CONTROL and can still cause everything to work together or good and for His purposes.
You believe in a god where this is an impossibility, confining your god and limiting him to a tiny man-made box.

The Good Shepherd by John’s 🖊
“I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and 👉I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 👉No man taketh it from me 👑, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings. And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him? Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind? And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter. And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch. Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. Jesus answered them, I told you, and 👉ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. 👉👉👉But ye believe not, 👉because ye are not of my sheep👈 😳 , as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice (the called), and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life 🙌; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 👉My Father, which 👉gave👈them me, is greater than all🙌; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭10:14-30‬ ‭KJV‬‬
John 10 agrees with John 6,
“And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath 👉given 👈me I should 👉lose nothing🙌, but should raise it up again at the last day.
No man 👉can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and👉 I will raise him up at the last day.
It is the 👉spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth 👉nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were 👉 👉👉given 👈unto him of my Father.”
    ‭‭
    John‬ ‭6 agrees with John 17,
“I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou 👉gavest me 👉out of the world: thine they were, and thou 👉gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. I pray for them: 👉I pray not for the world👈😳, but for them which thou hast 👉given me; for they are thine. And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭17:6-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬
John 17 agrees with John 3,
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭3:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬
John 3 agrees with John 1,
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 👉Which were born, 👉not of blood, 👉nor of the will of the flesh, 👉nor of the will of man, 👉but of God.”👈👑🙌
    ‭‭John‬ ‭1:12-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬
    John 1 agrees with 1 John 5,
“Whosoever 👉believeth 👈that Jesus is the Christ is 👉born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.”
    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬
    1 John 5 agrees with John 5
“For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so 👉the Son quickeneth whom he will.”👈
    ‭‭John‬ ‭5:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬
John 3:16 agrees with all of these,
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever 👉👉👉👉believeth 👈 in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Every verse is true, even this one,
“It is 👉the spirit that quickeneth; 👉the flesh profiteth 👉nothing👈🤔: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life👈.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭6:63‬ ‭KJV‬
If Jesus is telling the truth (He is) then the flesh is useless and you have to Born Again with the Spirit to believe. 🤔 Which agrees with,
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
What does a person have to do to be saved?👉Believe👈. The flesh is dead. Jesus says the flesh is useless so God has to give the Gift of the Spirit. (Born Again/ Regeneration)
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the 👉👉Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭3:3, 5‬ ‭KJV‬‬ 👉The Ezekiel 36:24-28 treatment.
    The Bible interrupts the Bible.
It is all GRACE and it is all from a Perfect Savior 👑
“👉But of 👉him are ye 👉in Christ Jesus👈🙌👑, who of 👉God 🙌👑👉is made 👈unto us 👉🙌wisdom, and 🙌righteousness, and 🙌sanctification, and 👑🙌redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him 🙌👉glory in the👑🙌 👉Lord👈👑🙌

For the love of money is the root of *all* evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
      1 Timothy 6:10 KJV
That word in Peter is the same was this in Timothy. Well, it's obvious that the love of money is not the root of "all" evil. That word means "all kind of" as in (Peter) from all races, gender, social category and so forth. Eva's Sin, David's with Bathsheba, Samson's with Dalila to name a few didn't have an economical interest at all so we know that in this verse all can't mean "every single" but all kind of (in fact in NKJV it's translated "all kind of")
So, that verse(which btw is out of context anyways) doesn't present Universalism (as I assume you would've liked)

God knows the end from the beginning correct?
So; before God created both the people who would be saved, and the people who would go to hell, he knew who was who, as well as who was going where.
Therefore God creates both the condemned human as well as the saved human, both for separate purposes.
Without God; there wouldn't be an angel left in heaven nor a human exempt from eternal hellfire.
He created Goliath for the very purpose of bringing him down before David to display Gods power.
He uses these creatures; even the devil, to instill fear in the hearts of his people. We are to fear God, the fear of him is the beginning of wisdom.
God created all things for his glory.
He chose us before the foundation of the world for good works in Christ Jesus.

2Kin 18:23 Now therefore, I pray thee, give pledges to my lord the king of Assyria, and I will deliver thee two thousand horses, if thou be able on thy part to set riders upon them.
24 How then wilt thou turn away the face of one captain of the least of my master's servants, and put thy trust on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?
25 Am I now come up without the LORD against this place to destroy it? 👉🏻The LORD said to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.👈🏻
They were told to destroy Israel. God spared the southern kingdom because of their prayers.
Same with Babylon when they carried away Judah. God told them to do it because of the sins of Manasseh.
If God ordains all things whatsoever come to pass, then there is no room for any free will. He can’t order every twitch of the eye and movement of the hand without causing you to do it.
With the case of the council putting Jesus to death, God can take men set on murder to carry out murder. He ordained an event and had the appropriate people carry it out....
2Tim 2:20 ¶ But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

      Here’s the difference....
Jer 19:5 They have built also the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spake it, neither came it into my mind:
If man does things that are repulsive and against God’s will, He allows it only later to exact judgement for their crimes.
If God ordained that they do it, then they had no choice but to do it. They did God’s will to the letter. No man can go against His will if it’s all decreed by Him.
      Huge difference.
It’s more like you allowing your son to go out into the world to make some mistakes in hope that he might learn from it or pouring the booze down his throat and putting a cigarette in his mouth and making him smoke.

Here’s the way I see it from the Bible all men are dead in sin and trespasses like Lazarus was dead in the tomb. God calls some and leaves others in their stinking tomb. My sheep hear my voice...The sheep are the elect foreordained before the foundation of the world. There is a common calling but not a common hearing. God must give ears to hear and that is regeneration. Once they are regenerated they respond positively to the gospel. The rest of the people who are not given ears to hear reject the gospel as foolishness and go on their way content in themselves but condemned before God. Pray that the Lord of the harvest will send laborers to his harvest emphasis on his. Not all men hear of the gospel that is the gospel isn’t presented everywhere in the world because in that case God has determined he’s not even going to send the gospel to some people for He has no intention of saving them. For as many as were appointed to salvation believed-- you will find that in the acts of the apostles. Jesus said and this is eternal life to know God so salvation is really about knowing God. A relationship with the sovereign of the universes. God as sovereign is not required to have a relationship with anyone outside of the Trinity. God has decided to invite some to his circle of fellowship. God decided before he made this world that he was going to include some in his circle of fellowship. But not everyone. That’s the part that irritates many people who called themselves Christians the part about God deciding for they think that man can raise himself from the dead & present himself before God as holy and blameless and worthy of God’s fellowship.

I had a a good rapport with RC. We debated often, and RC was very gracious. My biggest problem with this video was his failure to read from the scriptures. He recited 3 times from the word, but he never opened the Bible. RC had a habit of relying on his philosophical understanding.
I do not believe any one is truly sola scriptura; but prima scriptura. I never supported his use of the Westminster Confession, but especially when it was referred to more than the word. I miss our
debates, but I am thankful for God’s grace! Peace to the Sproul family, in Jesus name.

I wonder if God predestined RC to get that perm? I'll have to reconsider my faith if He did.
The statement doesn't mean that nothing happens outside of God's sovereignty. It means that it was decreed or ordered by God. If I pick my nose that doesn't affect God's sovereignty, but neither does it mean that God decreed that I should pick it. Such a silly and needless twisting of the definition.

@KTTGHMTJWYCBLAC I was paying attention. He's essentially saying that God decrees everything that happens, which would include the Holocaust. But of course man is responsible for the Holocaust not God, even though God decreed it. He's redefining sovereignty to mean meticulous control of everything rather than being the ultimate Authority over all of His creation where free will allows us to obey or disobey. My God is big enough to rule over a universe where people have free will and make wrong decisions and yet experienced God's grace and Redemption.

The Bible clearly teaches that He is the potter and we are the clay. That He is almighty God and can do whatever he pleases. If you read the Bible, you will soon realize that there were times he chose to be merciful and at other times he killed them all! Why is it any different when it comes to his salvation of one’s soul? He is either sovereign or he’s not! He cant only be “in full control of EVERYTHING”(sovereign) if you think some things, like drawing certain people, or saving people is up to the human being. (Clay pots can’t tell the potter what to do.)

    • @apilkey
      @apilkey 4 года назад +1

Aline Asdarjian Amen the Bible clearly teaches that He is the Potter and we are the clay and that He can do whatever He wants.
But that’s where our agreements end.
From there I continue with the Word of God as my authority and search the scriptures to see what exactly it is that God has revealed to us in His Word that He has Sovereignly decided to do.
He tells us clearly who He has mercy on.
He tells us clearly who He hardens.
He tells us clearly who He saves.
You on the other hand depart from the truth and assume that it’s totally random for no apparent reason before the foundation of the world.
Do you not know the scriptures?
Search the scriptures for in them ye think ye have eternal life.
The testify to who God is.
If you knew the Father you would know the Son.
Do you not know who He Sovereignly chooses to have mercy on?
Yes you’re right no lump of clay can talk back to God, but do you not know that it can purge himself, repent and cry out to God for mercy and God will make him into a vessel unto honour:
      2 TIMOTHY 2:20,21
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 IF A MAN THEREFORE PURGE HIMSELF from these, HE SHALL BE A VESSEL UNTO HONOUR, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
Do you not know these things?
      ************************************
...And according to Jeremiah 18:1-13 we see a marred vessel not talking back to God but REPENTING in humility, and then God taking it again in His hands and making it again unto something good WHILE IT’S STILL MOULDABLE.
IF THE NATION REPENTS then the Lord will relent from the destruction He decreed:
      JEREMIAH 18:1-13
1The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,
2 Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.
3 Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.
4 And the vessel that he made of clay was MARRED in the hand of the potter: SO HE MADE IT AGAIN, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
5 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
6 O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.
      7 At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;
8 IF THAT NATION, against whom I have pronounced, TURN FROM THEIR EVIL, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.
      9 And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it;
10 If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.
11 Now therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: RETURN YE NOW every one from his evil way, and MAKE YOUR WAYS AND YOUR DOINGS GOOD.
12 And THEY SAID, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.
13 THEREFORE thus saith the Lord; Ask ye now among the heathen, who hath heard such things: the virgin of Israel hath done a very horrible thing.

Aline Asdarjian I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOM I WILL HAVE MERCY.
The reason God has mercy on anyone is according to His Word and who HE’S DECIDED to have mercy on.
      Not according to you.
      Not according to me.
      According to His Word.
So do you not know who God has mercy on as clearly revealed in HIS WORD?
      Not my word.
      Not your word.
      HIS WORD.
Do you not know the scriptures?
Search them and you will clearly see WHO God in His sovereignty has decided to have mercy on.
Do you have a problem with who He’s decided to have mercy on?
Will you shake your fist at Him in defiance at WHO He Sovereignly chooses to have mercy on?
God’s MERCY is one of His best attributes that He actually loves to showcase and longs to show off as we see with the story of Moses when God chose to showcase His glory to Moses.
How did GOD HIMSELF CHOOSE to showcase His glory?
What attributes did GOD HIMSELF CHOOSE TO REVEAL and PROCLAIM to Moses when He stood with him in the cloud on the top of the mountain?
God HIMSELF proclaimed His own name by showcasing His MERCY, His GRACE and His PATIENCE:
      EXODUS 34:5,6
5 And THE LORD DESCENDED IN THE CLOUD, and stood with him there, and PROCLAIMED THE NAME OF THE LORD.
6 And the Lord passed by before him, and PROCLAIMED, THE LORD, THE LORD GOD, MERCIFUL AND GRACIOUS, LONGSUFFERING, AND ABUNDANT IN GOODNESS AND TRUTH
      ***********************************
Showing mercy actually EXALTS God which is why He patiently waits to extend it:
      ISAIAH 30:18
18 Therefore the Lord WAITS TO BE GRACIOUS to you, and therefore he EXALTS HIMSELF to SHOW MERCY to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.
QUESTION: If God predestined those who would believe in Him already then who is God being patient and waiting for?
      Himself?
Is God patiently waiting for HIMSELF to effectually save them?
      ***********************************
God doesn’t glory in our destruction but in His MERCY which is why He PATIENTLY WAITS for us because He is also Just and Holy and knows that ultimately He has to execute judgment according to RIGHTEOUSNESS which of course can only be found THROUGH Christ.
      2 PETER 3:9
9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, BUT IS PATIENT TOWARD YOU, NOT WISHING THAT ANY SHOULD PERISH, BUT THAT ALL SHOULD REACH REPENTANCE.
God waits patiently for us to turn to Him in repentance.
To consider our ways with the KNOWLEDGE of good and evil that the fall brought and to forsake our ways and live by humbly admitting that we can’t save ourselves and admit that to the One who can!
      ***********************************
...According to Jonah 4:2 Jonah knew that God was merciful and would rather show His mercy and relent from harm so then why don’t reformers know this?
      JONAH 4:2
2 And he prayed to the Lord and said, “O Lord, is not this what I said when I was yet in my country? That is why I made haste to flee to Tarshish; FOR I KNEW THAT YOU ARE A GRACIOUS GOD AND MERCIFUL, SLOW TO ANGER AND ABOUNDING IN STEADFAST LOVE, AND RELENTING FROM DISASTER.
      ***********************************
...According to Psalm 86:5 God has mercy on ALL THAT CALL UPON HIM:
      PSALM 86:5
5 For thou, Lord, art good, and READY TO FORGIVE; and PLENTEOUS IN MERCY UNTO ALL THEM THAT CALL UPON THEE.
      **BELIEVEST THOU THIS?
Is this a mystery who God chooses to have mercy on?
Do you reject the words written in this Psalm?
      ***********************************
...According to Proverbs 28:13 WHOSO confesses and forsakes their sin SHALL HAVE MERCY:
      PROVERBS 28:13
13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but WHOSO CONFESSETH AND FORSAKETH THEM SHALL HAVE MERCY.
      **BELIEVEST THOU THIS?
Is this a mystery who God chooses to have mercy on?
Do you reject the words written in this Proverb?

Hi Aaron.I can tell that you are a follower of Christ and are in the Word. I also realize you have difficulty accepting the fact that God is the one who draws an individual unto himself and gives him the gift of salvation and faith. I used to have difficulty with the same issue thinking it was unfair if one wasn’t able to come to God on his own terms, after all wasn’t man given free will?I finally came to the realization at one point in my life, and through getting deeper into the Word, that unless God draws someone to himself, one is not naturally drawn to a holy God. The Bible says, no one seeks God, not even one. It may seem like someone is seeking Him, but most of the time one is seeking a God who is like a loving grandfather who has unconditional love and endless gifts for his grandchildren. One is making God to be what he thinks he should be. Most individuals who seem to seek God are seeking him for his benefits; they want to be part of a Christian community for its benefits. Most are not seeking to live the kind of life the God of Bible seeks from his children. One likes to be able to be saved by a simple prayer with no real transformation of life nor spiritual growth. This person might think that now, because of his own decision, he became an adopted child of God. Is it the decision of the child to be adopted from an orphanage? Or is it up to the one adopting? Another question, Jesus told Nicodemus unless one is born again he will not inherit the kingdom of God. Then he goes on saying, “born of God, born from above(spiritually) who but God alone can make one born again spiritually?Yes God is merciful, for sure! He isn’t standing up there with a list of names, saying , “you’re in, you’re not”! He commands all men to repent. But in order for someone to repent, one has to come into the realization of what a sinner he is, and how much he needs to be saved from the wrath of God which is aimed at the wicked(Sinful man)every day. As a matter of fact, if God wasn’t a merciful, he would send every single person to hell, because we are all sinners!! All of us are doomed , But he shows mercy to whomever he wants to show mercy by calling them out of the dark into the light, ( a great example is Saul on the road to Damascus. He was on his way to persecute the Christians. Who opened his eyes to the truth but God himself.) Not all who say they’ve repented are true children of God. The proof is in the pudding...The truly born again Christian is the one whose goal is to live a life to glorify God. He is still in his sinful body, but God is sanctifying him each day through his Word. This individual will show fruit of the spirit, naturally. This is not something he does by his own efforts, but it’s the fruit of God’s Spirit’s work in him. For example, for the past week I’ve been living with excruciating pain from a pinched nerve, not able to walk, sit, or sleep...yet I have a peace that passes all understanding, I’m crying from pain, yet comforted knowing my Lord is sovereign, and without his permission NOTHING can happen that is not according to his will and purpose. He is merciful in never leaving me nor forsaking me, because I’m His child. His loving kindness sustains me in any life situation, good or bad. And I have assurance that even in this trial He is glorified. A true believer is very careful not to sin, and when he does, his conscience will drive him to confess immediately. A true believer obeys God and his Word ( Jesus said,”if you love me, you will obey my commandments”A true believer is constantly dependent on God for strength, perseverance and endurance. A true believer’s God is Awesome, Holy and just, just to name a few. The natural man IS NOT ABLE to live this kind of a life, it’s too difficult and he will soon give-up. Only God can draw one to himself, only the Spirit of God can convince one of his own sinfulness, only in Jesus’ life of righteousness and washing of his blood are we acceptable before a Holy God, only God can save, one cannot save himself through a repentance prayer, nor good works, nor service in church. One cannot live a life acceptable by God by his own efforts, period. I think most people have the wrong understanding about predestination, and “being chosen”, and some “teachers of the Bible” do injustice by keeping their congregation in the dark about what the Bible truly teaches, they just tell them what they want to hear, and what sounds more loving, and all inclusive. (I can provide verses for all I have expressed here if you wish) I’m open for discussion.

Aline Asdarjian Hi Aline thanks for the response I’ll address everything you said once I have some time later tonight...
In the meantime can you please explain further what you really meant when you stated “Jesus told Nicodemus unless one is born again he will not inherit the kingdom of God. “
I believe this verse means exactly what it means as well so are you actually inferring that one cannot BELIEVE unless he is born again?
Because that’s not what the verse says and so I’m curios as to why you would quote that to support your belief?
The only way that verse supports your belief is if you change the wording to, “unless one is born again he cannot believe.”
Please explain if what you really mean is that one cannot have faith until they see/enter the kingdom.
      Thanks

      Aaron Pilkey
I had been taught in my church that....First you make the decision to accept Christ as your personal savior, ( this was called repentance and being born-again) AND you needed to believe that Christ died on the cross for your sins and rose again ( this was the believing-having faith part)then somehow he would give you the the right to be his child ( by the proclamation of the evangelist) and now you were to live as a Christian. He also promised you a place in heaven, unless you somehow lost that privilege by going back to your secular living. I was taught it was MY responsibility to live and act like a Christian. It was my responsibility to have devotions every morning, and it was completely up to me and my efforts if I wanted a close relationship with the Lord.
It seemed like I was the one in charge of my own salvation, after all, my leaders showed me so many movies of Jesus suffering and bleeding for me...it would be ungrateful for me to ignore that massive sacrifice. And I came from a God-fearing, church-going, moral family. Of course, I wanted to do everything to insure my eternal life.
About 15 years ago(I’m in my 50s now)My husband and I were diligently serving in our parents’ and grandparents’ church. We were trying really hard to do things a Christian should do. But we were empty. Why? There were many things I had been taught from the Bible that were questionable for me. Every time I questioned Something from the Bible, I was told, one day we will all know about these things when we get to heaven... then our spiritual thirst led us into listening more and more to teachers who took the Bible as a whole and taught it verse by verse taking into consideration the history and context of each verse. RC Sproul’s “Holiness of God “series was our first exposure to sound Biblical teaching. We soon realized that There was so much we didn’t know about who God truly was, and how he dealt with his people. The deeper we got into the Word, more truth started jumping out of its pages....things started to make sense slowly, one scripture explained the other...wow!!! This was great! I knew the disposition of my heart had changed; I was born-again! And since the Bible teaches that faith comes from hearing the Word,... I was filled with the desire to know more and to get deeper into it. I want to mention, I had no reservations about “doctrine”at that time, as a matter of fact, I had never heard about predestination,or such. But there was this hunger in me that I cannot explain! There was an irresistible pull that drew me to God and His Word. My husband and I left our church, through much animosity on their side...and have been attending a church where God’s Word is preached in all of its glory! My life is very different now, fifteen years later, I KNOW that I am a child of God solely based on the fact that His mercy and grace have reached me to reveal his truth to me through his Spirit. I see the fruit of the Spirit manifest itself in my life while before I thought I was the one that had to act out all those things to be Christian. I’m in no way perfect!!! I constantly battle with my sinful nature because I’m still in my fleshly body. But I stay in his Word for daily strength, nourishment, encouragement, and direction. I fall, but I repent of my sins, and he lifts me up again and again to keep running in this race he has prescribed for my life. Just a little testimony so that you know my background. ( read back what I first wrote about what I was taught about salvation, and see how much of that is sadly man-made, with back up sections and bits of verses to support that teaching. It is definitely NOT what the Bible teaches as a whole)
By the way, you asked about the Nicodemus story. It is in John3:1-21
Jesus said, “no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the spirit gives birth to spirit...”
One is born physically from his mother’s womb(from water)
One is born spiritually from the Spirit of God(from above)
Kingdom of God refers to one’s life as his child here on earth as a human being in the flesh, and later on in heaven with a new spiritual body, forever in the presence of God.
Here are some more relevant verses
Jesus said, “no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up on the last day.”John 6:44
“For by Grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is a GIFT OF GOD, not of works,, lest anyone should boast.”Eph.2:8-9 (both faith and salvation are gifts of God, they work together)
“Yet all who received him( not accepted him, as if he needed our acceptance as the Almighty God) to those who believed in his name , he gave them the right to become children of God.....(must continue) children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision, or a husband’s will, but Born Of God.”1 John 1:12-13
Read it like this:The children of God are not born out of human, fleshly decision; the ones who are born of God are the ones who receive him and believe him, and are given the privilege to be called God’s own children.
There are many many more verses....

To me it’s rather simple….God is fully sovereign but when he made man, He (God) chose to limit His sovereignty when He gave man the first spoken and written promises to distinguish Himself from all other god’s who man create who are “capricious”. Therefore God sovereignly created man with freewill to choose in receiving or rejecting His promises because it declares that “whatsoever a man soweth he shall also reap” good or bad. In this God does not violate His main attribute of Love over a fallen creation who is given the opportunity to redeem themselves to their creator.

But only Christ can redeem. No other man can redeem & we certainly can't redeem ourselves.

Nowadays though 😥 sadly it 👀 seems like there's a lot of Christians today that believe in the insane 💡 idea of open theism. The idea the future is open and God doesn't control things and it's up to man's decisions. An absolutely insane theology.

That being said, he is just. Incorrect. With that first claim about atheism.
Atheism is, in its purest form, the unbelief of a God or Gods. That's it. I don't know why he'd attribute the lack of Godly sovereignty to atheism.
"if you believe in a god that is not sovereign then you really don't believe in god" Come on, there are plenty of people (not me, I can explain stances that are not my own!) that believe in a God that does not have power over his creation; similar to how parents do not have ultimate sovereignty over their children. Two separate things.

Sproul is a Western reformed theologian!
Consider the following from the Christian EAST!
The MISSING DOCTRINE in the Protestant predestination debate is Eastern Biblical GRACE which is "God working in us" to enable ALL people to be free to receive or reject God's love!
    Philippians 2:12-13;
    Titus 2:11;
    1 Timothy 2:3-6
    The order is,
Grace > Repentance/Faith > Life in Christ (regeneration)
Jesus is truly God and truly man! The Bible is about the love of Jesus Christ for all!
    John 1:1, 14; 3:16; 1 John 4:8
It is by freely believing IN CHRIST by GRACE that we are chosen and elect IN Christ who is God's beloved Son and the only One chosen!
    Luke 9:35;
    Ephesians 4, 13;
    Romans 8:29
These riches in Christ are a result of our freely repenting and being faithful to Christ, which we can only do by the GRACE of God which is "God working in us!"
    1 Corinthians 15:10
Apart from Jesus we can do nothing! John 15:5
But God loves His creation and all people and wants all to be saved!
    1 Timothy 2:3-6
In love Jesus willingly died for all in order to raise from the dead to conquer death, sin, and the devil for all!
    This is Christus Victor!
    Hebrews 2:9, 2:14-15;
    1 Corinthians 15:22;
    Colossians 1:20
God's loving Grace, which works in all who are dead in sin, enables ALL people to freely choose to love God and be saved!
    John 6:65; 12:32-33;
    Titus 2:11
But the choice to love God remains in all people!
    John 7:17; 11:35
    The divine order is:
    1) Enabling Grace for all!
    John 6:65; 12:32-33; Titus 2:11
    2) Our freedom to repent and be faithful to Christ! Acts 17:30-31
    3) Being united and made alive with Christ (regeneration)!
    John 20:31
What the Calvinist system does not have is God's Grace "working in us to enable us," to be free to choose to be in Christ!
    Philippians 2:12-13;
    John 6:65, 12:33-33;
    Titus 2:11
The Calvinist system cannot answer why Adam was created very good and created in God's image and likeness with a "mysterious free will" and Adam lived in a perfect environment and had the Spirit of God and yet Adam disobeyed God and fell from grace!
Therefore, Christians can also fall from grace! Galatians 5:4
The Calvinist belief that God predestined most to go to hell, and that they are given no grace to freely believe is not the God of the Bible Who is Love!
    1 John 4:8
God foreknew all those who would believe in His Son by God's Grace!
God predestined them to be like Christ!
    Romans 8:28-30;
    Ephesians 1:4-5
God did not determine who would believe in Him and who would not! God’s foreknowledge does not cause man’s choices!
To choose Christ and receive Christ's love for us will be Heaven.
To reject Christ and Christ's love for us will be the experience of Hell!
The predestined reprobates in the Calvinist system never have a chance to experience the love of God! This is injustice!
    John 3:16
Calvinists believe that in the atonement God the Father poured out wrath and damned and cut off God His Son on the cross! (See Sproul, McArthur, White, etc. sermons) This is a heresy condemned in the Ecumenical Councils because it splits the Eternal Holy Trinity!
Christ died in order to raise from the dead and destroy death, sin, and the devil on behalf of us all!
And now God commands everyone everywhere by the grace of God to repent!
    Acts 17:30-31;
    Romans 1:20

There is a flaw in Sproul's teaching, If God is sovereign according to Sproul's definition of Sovereign, then God ordained the fall of Adam and Eve, and if God ordained the fall then it follows that God also ordained those who are not elect to go to hell...

How does R.C Sproul miss the great commission? He says God does not make sure that everyone hears the Gospel. That is wrong. Jesus said we must go into all the world and preach the good news so that everyone hears of the good news. The Holy Spirit will only convict sinners based on the word that they have heard. Faith comes by hearing the word of God. As Christians, we are better off going out to preach to sinners rather than assuming that God will just save some people. Why did Jesus command us to go yea therefore if God was going to save by Himself?

So do you believe that every person who has ever lived on the earth heard the Gospel before they died? Remote villages in Africa? People in communist China? Small children before understanding age? Those are the people I think about. We are Absolutely commanded to share the good news of the Gospel, but ultimately I trust God’s perfect will for the salvation of his elect.

This zeal that some Christians have for John Calvin and his doctrine is difficult to understand. Such zeal among Calvinists is not seen with the early church fathers, the Apostles, or even the Lord Himself. Who is John Calvin? He lived about four-hundred years ago and no one living today has personally observed the testimony of his life, so why follow him instead of Scripture? We know that he was heavily influenced by Augustine, but again, why follow a man instead of God's Word? Calvin is called a reformer, but faith in God never needed reforming. God has always had a remnant that was truly His. Many of the real reformers were attempting to preserve the Bible and make it available to the common people, which was a very good thing, while others were simply trying to reform the organized church. Calvin is in the latter group. The true church has always been organic, not an organization.
When Calvin was put in charge of the church in 1541 by the council of the city of Geneva, citizens who refused to accept Calvinism were expelled from the city or, in some cases, executed as heretics." Did Calvin do anything to stop this? No! Calvin also agreed with the execution of Servetus for blasphemy. Servetus denied the Trinity and denounced infant baptism. Calvin's actions are certainly not those of someone who has the Spirit of God.
While I have not personally read Calvin's writings, I have read and listened to others who are Calvinists or former Calvinists teach using the TULIP format. Since I have not read Calvin, I do not know the accuracy of their teaching. But if what they teach is correct, then Calvinism is heresy, doctrine of devils, and blasphemy. It is taught that in God's sovereignty He ordained everything that happens. Therefore, it was His will for Satan to rebel and for Adam and Eve to fall into sin in the garden. In fact, God Himself caused these things to happen. This makes God the author of sin, death and every other evil thing. This is error of the highest degree. The scripture clearly states that every good and perfect thing comes down from the Father of lights in whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Sin and death are not good or perfect.
Calvinism is a form of Gnosticism, whose adherents believe they receive special knowledge. Calvinists will say that they have never heard any of their teachers make such a statement. But Sproul did exactly that in his teaching on limited atonement when he stated non-Calvinist Christians are "only a little bit saved." Sproul knows that most Christians do not accept Calvin's doctrine. So in other words, Calvinists alone have the "true or special knowledge" of God's grace and plan for salvation. However, the knowledge for salvation is plainly laid out in Scripture for all to see.
Last, if one reads the early church fathers before Augustine, they will see that these church fathers know nothing of the five points of Calvinism. On the contrary, they would see Calvinism as heresy.

The problem with his belief is that it doesn't line up with 2 Peter 3:9. (The Lord is) not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. I believe that God DOES offer salvation all. Some people definitely seem to have more going for them in coming to accept it, but I believe it is available to all. If his view is correct, then it means that 2 Peter 3:9 is a lie, and I think we would agree that that's not the case

The problem is, If you take this kind of determinism to the logical conclusion, you have said that God ordained most people for hell. This is not supported by scripture. God's sovereignty is so powerful that we have free will, yet God's purpose is still accomplished. God used kings and tyrants to accomplish His will without making them do evil things. God is holy. Therefore, He can not be the author of evil.

    1. Revelation 22:17 says, “Whosoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.” Calvinism, however says it actually means: The ones I (God) chose, will take of the water of life.
    2. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Calvinism, however says this verse actually means: For God so loved the ones He chose, that He gave His only begotten Son, that those He chose WILL have everlasting life.
    3. Joshua 24:15 says, “…choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Calvinism, however says this verse actually means: There is no choice, rather, God will decide whether or not one will serve the Lord.
    4. 2nd Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord is…not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” Calvinism, however, says this verse actually means: The Lord is not willing that any of the ones He has chosen should perish, but that all of the ones He has chosen should come to repentance.
    5. Matthew6:8-10 says, “…therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done.” This is a prayer. If God’s will was already being done as per Calvinism, then why do we need to pray that it will happen?
    6. Hebrews 3:12-14 says, “Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end…” This is a call to not harden our hearts and depart from the living God, and to hold our confidence in Christ steadfast until the end. According to Calvinism, we can’t make that decision; God has already decided.
    7. John 1:29 says, “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” Calvinism, however says this verse actually means: The Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the few that God has chosen.
    8. 1st Timothy 1:15 says, “This is a faithful saying …that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners…” Calvinism, however says this verse actually means: Jesus came into the world to save (ONLY) the sinners God has already chosen.
    9. 1ST John 19 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Calvinism says, this verse really means, the ones He has chosen WILL confess their sins, and He is faithful and just to forgive them their sins and to cleanse them from all unrighteousness. Calvinism calls confession a synergistic work; meaning a work of faith added to what God has already done. Also, there is no IF in Calvinism.
    10. Revelation 3:20 says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” Calvinism says, this verse really means, “…when the one I have chosen hears my voice, he will open the door…”

This isn’t the Biblical doctrine on the sovereignty of God, this is the Greek Stoic/Manichean Gnostic doctrine on the sovereignty of their god.
Sovereignty simply means God is the highest authority, the ultimate authority in heaven and on Earth. But He gave man free will and it’s up to us to submit to Him and obey or refuse to and rebel against Him.

The reason why he doesn't is he loves the devil also! Jesus's gift was for him also, but free will! Why do you think Jesus went into the desert for 40 days and 40 nights, define which was lost! Who do you meet in the 40 days and 40 nights, he was tempted by the devil! But that's the way it was written for us! But how do you know what happened in those 40 days in 49th! We only know of three temptations on Jesus! What's the first one is his reply, man shall not live on bread alone but every word that perceives from the father, then in sacrament play, you should not put your lord God to the test, in the third one, You shall worship your lord God and serve him only! But if you think logically, humans were never in heaven! The devil in his fallen Angels were! Jesus came to find what was lost! Makes a lot of sense to me! The devil in his fallen angels! That's why when the disciples ask Jesus Christ, who can make it to heaven, Jesus replied, with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible!and even in the Bible it says we do not fight against flesh and blood, but the principalities of this world! But in the story, mankind is the only being that doesn't make it past judgment! So we are the true enemy of the Father and son, and the only way we're not, as if we pick up our cross and follow Jesus Christ!
