Im gonna please ask that if anyone reads this that they will pray for me. My names is Blake. I have been suffering for some time now and very sick physically. I believe that God will heal me only if he wills and either way I will praise him and seek him no matter what he chooses! But i still would like to ask for your prayers. We pray to God/ Allah as a way of thanking him.... When someone is kind to you and gives you a gift you will be quick to thank him/ her. imagine what God has give mankind !!! A thank you is the least one can do for the gift of life...
I love hearing this man talk. I wish he were still on Earth, but he fought the good fight of faith, and God called him home.
This modern day prince of pastors fought the dark powers of Satan during the best years of his life. He could've spent his later life retired but he kept at it (like all the greats) and begged and pleaded for people to listen, always ready to teach people the way to Christ.
I'm my opinion, he must have one special blessing walking amongst Christ right now. He's been up there for a couple years. The grandeur he must be experiencing is undoubtedly far beyond our wildest imaginations. What a dream it would be to someday accompany him with the great, all Supreme, Almighty God of our universe.

Prayer doesn't change God's mind, it changes us.
I get your point , but as a counter point I know many people that might pray in a crisis, but don't really change in sinful behaviour, faith or non Christian practice.
@@mangs9940 The Bible is clear that an encounter with God is supposed to produce change in a person’s life. What change, to what degree? I don’t know but over time there should be visible evidence.

I want to walk in this lifetime I'm a Quadriplegic paralyzed in bed since 12 years. Just got closer to God left sin behind. Ill keep my healing in prayers and if its his will i want to be healed.

Look at Nick Vujicic. Man has no arms and no legs, yet he’s married, has kids, and is one of the best preachers/pastors I’ve seen. God has a plan for your life. You may not see it or know the full significance of his plan, but do not lean on your own understanding but have faith in him! Praise the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen!
I just left the charismatic community and Im just so thankful to find the truth, and I have no requests, so Im just praying the Lords prayer for the moment, but down the track once I have a better understanding my prayers may change.
Boy I do miss this kind of teaching today. Everything is feel good Christianity and all about us, not about our Father.

To find the twisted teachings, find the fruits.
Let us look at the fruits of those who follow Jesus, the messiah of the church and Christianity.
They call the Father and Son by the pagan names lord and Jesus.
They rest on the Sunday, the day of the sun worshippers.
They celebrate the pagan feasts of Christmas and Easter.
They eat unclean foods and are uncircumcised.
The Hebrew Messiah if the Bible did none of these above.
So what does the fruit of the followers of the Real Hebrew Messiah look like:
They obey the Torah/Law of YAhuah.
They call the Father Yahuah and His Son Yahusha, by their Sacred Hebrew Names.
They rest on the 7th day Sabbath.
They celebrate the Scriptural feasts of Lev 23.
They eat kosher, are circumcised and wears tzitzits.
All Scriptural fruits from the followers of Yahusha.
I suggest you adhere to your own advice, because if you intend spending eternity with Yahusha and Yahuah.
Here is the Scriptural advice for it:
Mat 19:16 And see, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good shall I do to have everlasting life?”
Mat 19:17 And He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except One - Elohim. But if you wish to enter into life, guard the commands.”
And if you love Him you would anyway:
Joh 14:15 “If you love Me, you shall guard My commands.
That God has already planned from end to beginning and yet he still wants us to pray shows just how much the God of the universe wants a relationship with us

I pray to God but I don't hear back. I don't know what to do. I have left everything that my conscience tells me is a sin, yet I feel no peace or change in my spirit.

It’s not about leaving sin.
It’s about following Christ.
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.
After you place your faith in Christ He regenerates you and you are born again.
A new creation.
Sin will naturally fall by the wayside, but your focus should be on pursuing Christ and reading His Word.
Do you read His Word daily?
Ask God to give you a desire for Him
And a desire to pray and read His Word.
What prayers do you feel He’s not answering?
Perhaps they don’t align with His will for your life.
I love RC his teachings are so profound, yet simple enough even a child can grasp the teaching

my 1st time hearing about him. Very good indeed.
"since God ordains the ends and means...(therefore) we have a responsibility" is a non sequitur.
Moses' prayer changed God's mind. That's what the book says, forget about your reflex cognitive dissonance.
It's not that God did not foresee my prayer, it's that he *chooses* to let me influence him in some cases where he has not bound himself a priori by his word. My God and Father is not a linear mathematical formula, RC.
I walk away from that communication encouraged and at peace *precisely* because I'm told I can move God to change or do things which he may not have changed or done, had I not prayed.
RC is caught between his Calvinistic system and the scriptures.
Our Calvinist brethren are ever labouring to make them reconcile precisely because they differ.
I don think our carnal minds can even come close or accurately influence the Mighty God, I don’t think Calvino influence has nothing to do with this teaching. I rather have a reverence approach rather than a liberal. Look at translations of Moses prayer. But the way, prayer helps us discover that God is ever kind. so, does prayer influence his immutable mercy??? Absolutely Not. As to think we need to assist His Mercy it’s degrading to His Holy character.
God is our Father. He is not a linear mathematical formula. Abraham did not degrade God's character when he negotiated for Sodom nor Jacob when he wrestled with him for a blessing. Calvinism is a gnostic hindu/Greek philosophical view of God that doesn't match scripture. The God of the Bible is not so frail as to lose his sovereignty just because he gives us free will and opens himself up to being influenced by the earnest pleadings of his children.
thats right george! Yahuah gave us genuine freedom of will thereby limiting himself to what happens here on the earth! It takes a greater God to work within the choices of free will beings than it does to work with automatons!

If you have a God, you’re not God Almighty
What about Moses praying and asking God not to destroy Israel in the wilderness. The scripture says God repented.
Repented meant that He had change His mind in Him destroying the nation. However Moses after that discourse, when he descended from Mt. Sania and saw the people worshiping the golden calf, he ordered for their execution. Thus what God said did come to pass but through a different mean.

IN the first place, "Sovereignty" has NOTHING to do with praying to Jesus; who IS God. No more than talking to a friend; has anything to do with Sovereignty. Thus, it is ridiculous to ask that question.
In the second place; let's talk about Sovereignty. It simply means that Jesus gives us total "free-will". However, IF one prays to Jesus; for anything and Jesus deems the request is sincere; and within the commandments of Jesus; He will answer that question and fulfill the request.
Then again and again; when any one prays as above; Jesus will do the same. However; we STILL have free will; and Jesus is STILL "Sovereign". Praise His Holy Name. For He...
...told us to pray the "Lord's prayer". For...Matthew 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

The Word of faith movement has so infested evangelical Christianity. So many Christians I come across will say “I command this I command that” even “I commanded God!” ....

I quote Kenneth Copeland; "And I say this with all respect, so that it don’t upset you too bad, but I say it anyways: When I read in the Bible where He [God] says, “I AM,” I just smile and say, “Yes, I Am too.”4). The little gods doctrine is central to Word of faith teaching where the believer is said to have creative power to speak things into existence and to make degrees. This is clearly a twisting of scripture. "Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: 'I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god'" (Isaiah 44:6).
I have listened to his teachings along with Creflo Dollar, Joyce Myer, TD Jakes, Miles Munroe and all of this affiliated to them
To understand God and His actions is to understand this:
All things are for our good and His glory.
Everything He does flows from this concepts!
What an amazing and inspired teacher he was. Through God's blessing, his teaching carries on through this and other media.
When God told Abraham his plan to wipe out Sodom, Abraham pleaded with God to spare the city if there were 50 righteous men. On he pleaded with God till he secured the city if there were just 10 righteous men. We know how that story went. God sees and knows all but He honours our hearts for mercy.
Also in the book of Job, God told Jobs friends to ask Job to pray for them for they did not speak correctly of Him. If Job had been unmerciful he could’ve chosen NOT to pray for his friends. God made it clear that their prayers (Jobs friends would not suffice for Gods mercy. It had to be Jobs mercy). God honours mercy. And He does allow his mind and his plan to be changed FOR mercy’s sake
If there are no "rogue molecules" .... and everything has already been decreed... as R.C. contends.... No man can pray any more or less than God has already determined.

@@davegreene1198 Yes, having created a creature with libertarian free will is not threat to a truly Sovereign God. Just to be clear... I DO NOT believe what Sproul says about this. I believe it is foolishness. The questions Calvinist are so good a debating, having had over 1500yrs to practice, are all a result of tying their leg to a false premise that 'all men are born unable to respond positively to the Gospel of Christ'. This is NOT found anywhere in proper context of scripture, and once removed, these inevitable questions created by their own system cease to exist.
Dancing around logic and pushing predestination, you need to listen for hours until you get fully confused. He doesn't believe in free will.
RC and fellow reformed theologians are men of God, but they are wrong concerning God's sovereignty. Man is fallen, not depraved, free to chose, not predetermined. And yes, you can lose your salvation.

Hezekiah’s prayer “changed God’s mind” or, Elijah lied when he said God told him to tell Hezekiah he was going to die and Hezekiah prayed, “reminded” God if the things he had done and God sent Elijah back.
Amen! Petitionary prayer which is biblical never has been about educating God but rather it has always been about touching the heart of God in such a way that He already knowing full well the circumstances freely chooses to intervene and in doing so He makes a change to the future. If all of the future is fixed and written in stone then even God’s own future actions and decisions are fated and written in stone. Whether they be fated by way of God having pre-determined them or fated by way of God being obligated to foreknow them all as certain either way we end up with a God who does not have a free will of His own and who does not and cannot make decisions. An all- knowing cosmic fate machine who is no better off with the knowledge that He has then He is without it is what we end up with. Is omniscience both an ability that God has and an obligation that He faces as well or is it an ability that He has and not an obligation that He faces? I think that it is a good question that people should ask themselves. Growing up I was taught that God cannot experience changes in His knowledge and that He cannot change His mind. I was taught that He cannot experience changes in His emotions that would cause Him to consider a change of mind. I was taught that He must foreknow as certain absolutely everything and He must foreknow it whether He wants to or not. Now if all of these things that I was taught are true then can we really believe that God truly has a free will of His own to freely make His own decisions? I think not.

It's certainly accurate to say that the text describes God's interaction with Moses in such a way that it appears that God changes his intended course of action. God basically says as much. So you have to ask yourself the question: is the text giving us an inside account of the mind of God or an inside account of the experience of Moses with God?
An interesting parallel to the passage you mention would be the encounter with God in Gen 3 after Adam and Eve have eaten the forbidden fruit. God shows up, ostensibly unaware of what has taken place, and he can't even find the man who's hiding behind some bush in the garden. Even open theists who deny God's knowledge of future events (i mention them here because they often quote the passage you have cited) do not deny him knowledge of the physical whereabouts of any sparrow (or 🐜 ant) in the present. So we are forced with regard too Gen 3 either to come up with some theory that the theology of this passage is district from that of the rest of Scripture (i.e. this passage represents an "early" or "more primitive" pagan conception of deity) in the spirit of liberal biblical scholarship, or to account for the narrative description as representing the story from the perspective of the humans experiencing it. I am inclined toward the latter, both in the case of Gen 3 and in the case of the passage that you refer to.
The beautiful thing here to my mind is how God comes to us and interacts with us on our terms. He uses a human form (the incarnation) and of all things human language (Scripture), to communicate himself to us, whose understanding is fundamentally limited by our experience.

...we also see other passages where He does repent of the evil He declared such as in Jonah 3:10

Numbers 3:19 was spoken in a very specific context and the language used was for that specific context to drive home a very specific point.

The Scriptures do speak of God "repenting" if you like or "changing his mind" (the underlying word is שוב, which literally means to turn and go the opposite direction so I might translate it literally "changed his course of action", but the implications are similar), and they do so far too consistently for us to dismiss the fact. So the question arises: what does it mean that God "changed his mind/course of action"? Do we understand it in the same way that you and I change our minds, because the way you and I change our minds seems to have a pretty tight connection to our weakness and finitude? So it certainly requires some deep thinking of one is to understand it, and this is basically what Sproul is attempting to do in this video. Even if you don't agree with his conclusions, the questions he asks are unavoidable for anyone wants to take this issue seriously.
The question "does God have emotions (anger, joy, etc?" is similar. The short answer is yes, obviously he has something that we can truthfully call emotions, just as the Scriptures do, but what it means to have emotions when you haven't got any hormones or synapses is quite an open question... and that's totally leaving aside the question of being time-bound.
The point I made in the previous post is that the simple proof-texting that is often used in the attempt to demonstrate that God certainly changes his mind is insufficient, as well as being potentially problematic. It simply is the case that the narratives of the pentateuch describe God in ways that (on the face of it) do not align with what any orthodox Christian believes about him (see my description of Gen 3 in the last post). Consequently, we do and we must read at least some very basic theological ideas (formed by the whole body of Scripture) back into these narratives.
Time is really big subject and I don't want to sideline the conversation by going down that rabbit hole, but I will say that one can only end up with a "straightforward" understanding of God changing his mind if one adopts the position that God himself is subject to time... a position I find problematic for other reasons.

That’s really good. I like to think also, that we like our kids to ask us stuff, and to ask us for things even if we say no, or not now. So God also likes us to ask him things even if he says no. As RC says, it brings us more closely into the family.
You pray so that you ears can hear what your heart is praying for. You worship and praise God for what he has done, that strengthens your faith in Him. People can complicate simple things. God is not a slot machine that you approach only when you want something. God yearn to be in a relationship with you, where both matters.
When I think of a magnificent and powerful preacher like RC, I think to myself.... he has been with the Lord Almighty Himself, for a few years now. For more than 900 days he has gotten to experience the sound of trumpets, the bright light of glory, the paradise he always taught of but never got to see until his grand entrance into his forever. Imagine what he's experiencing. I wonder if he is acquainted well with certain angels specifically, spending more time with some than others; what it looks like when he travels from one end to the other of heaven, and what Christ really looks like. Think of it! The Man we know as Savior, RC & the chosen who have gone before us, actually are IN THE PRESENCE OF this very moment. He can hear what Jesus' voice sounds like, and see the Great "I Am" every minute of forever. He doesn't even have day or night up there. I wonder if they sleep. I wonder if the sound of celestial music is the only sound, or what language they speak. Do they speak all languages now? Do they have breakfast? What do their teeth look like? What is it like to live absolutely perfectly and not even be faced with a single temptation in heaven? Not even feel a slight chill? Temperature always perfect, and I bet no snow. I wonder if Jesus walks over to His people or if they walk over to them, and if so, do they have to wait in line to speak to Him? Undoubtedly I'd think we would all swarm Him. I bet we would not have questions as to why certain things on this earth got so bad, because I don't know if He will give us all our memories of earth. How could He? It would be painful to reflect down on (I think) how brutal and vicious it is down here. It's so dirty and self serving. It's ugly and cold, with litter and potholes down here, dirty theft and speeding cars, people hating one another, and so many who are so sick they just want to die. I have led a very unfavorable life of misfortune. My life has never been "good" as it has always been full of anxiety, fear, etc. People blame people for these negative feelings, but you can only do so much to change it when there's so much destruction, suffering, pain and fighting to survive that we're surrounded by.
I wonder if RC can see earth from there or how far the angels can see. Or if they have chocolate.

@@mitchellc4 I get Anthony Buzzard's newsletter. In the most recent he goes on and on about believing the "Gospel of the Kingdom". Is that all we have to believe....that God is going to set up another Kingdom on this earth with Jesus as its head? Doesn't believing in Jesus' death and payment for our sins come into it somewhere? That seems to be left out of the recent newsletter. Or am I missing something?
John Macarthur has a great book regarding prayer called Knowing God. I highly recommend it. It is all about using the Lord's prayer as an outline for our extended prayers and is available on Audible.

No amount of mysterious divine purpose can ever make that an act of love. I do not believe in the God of extreme Calvinism. God provides the means for salvation for all who will look him him and live.

As you rightly said, all who look to Him will live, the fact that not ALL will look to Him and thus will NOT have their name written in the book of life is not Calvinism, it’s biblical.
I would caution that it’s not exactly reasonable for the creation to question how the Creator decides to do use the vessel.

Words of our mouths bring about our reality. Jesus said your words are spirit and life. Proverbs says in the mouth is the power of life and death. If you say your claim something and put action to it, it will come to pass.
The better question is, "If God isn't sovereign, why pray?" If God cannot control the details of life, why pray to an impotent or incompetent god?
Sometimes looking at the other side makes things clearer. Basically this is why I could never embrace Arminianism even though I rejected Calvinism at first.

I Samuel 8. Israel demanded a king and God warned them and still gave them a king. God does not need to determine everything to be Sovereign. Determinism puts God in a man-box. In the beginning, God put two trees in the garden for man to make a choice. Calvinists are not the authority on what the Sovereignty of God is and is not.
In both examples given God was already aware of the “choices” that would be made before hey were..Determinism doesn’t put God in a box, it describes the omniscient and immutable aspects of Him. The idea that His divine plan, which was formed before the foundations of the earth, needs to be adjusted according to the “choices” of mankind smacks of humanism and does more to “box” in God than what Dr Sproul explains.
You are correct, Calvinism does not determine God’s sovereignty, His Word describes it and irregardless of the “ism” ascribed to Dr Sproul and his ministry, there was no divergence from the description of God’s sovereign nature in His Word given in this teaching.
God’s placing the 2 trees in the garden didn’t preclude His already knowing what was going to happen....

I love and respect R.C but in this instance he hasn't actually answered the question adequately. I'm familiar with the explanation that God ordains the means through us in prayer but that still doesnt make sense. If God wants something to happen, it happens with or without our prayer. God's hands are not tied because of our prayers or lack thereof.
The question cannot be answered in the Calvinistic philosophical system.

Due to this corrupt age, we started to ask questions that the Bible (God's Ultimate Revelation) has not given an answer. The two responses from the Bible are: God demands so we obey. Second, we love talking to him and we pray.
