    That was an interesting video Robert, it looked like fun and I must get out and try it again soon. Great place to go and plenty of subject matter, I like a trip to Dartmoor gives me plenty to check out. Keep up the good work. 🐕

      Cheers John. Yeah you should, would be great to see some of your macro images. I've only been to Dartmoor once, on a bike ride in torrential rain! I'm sure there are some great opportunities for photography there though. Thanks for watching. 😊

    Always enjoy macros! Not good at it, but still enjoy it! I like the fact that I usually don't have to worry about what I'm taking a picture of running away!! You would be a fantastic teacher!! Just saying. Enjoy the week! Bruce and Otis

      Yeah the mushrooms aren't too quick. 😁 You should do some macro in a video - that would be cool. I like the idea of teaching until I see the amount of paperwork required! Pretty tough job, I think. Thanks for watching. 😊

      @@Robert-Bishop Indeed, having taught English literature and composition for years, the reading and grading can get overwhelming, let alone the administrative paperwork that some jurisdictions demand...and then there are report card comments...and parent-teacher conferences...and...Hmmm...happy to be retired from all that! LOL

    It must be hard to go to Padley George and not be tempted to do landscape images and concentrate on macro. Excellent shots again Robert, what type of fungi was that at 7:24 I've not seen one like that before. Macro is also great if you don't have a fancy camera - many small compact cameras have pretty good macro settings too. Great video Robert.

      My initial plan was to do some woodland photography but I was only able to get out Sunday and that turned out to be the only day of the week that wasn't foggy! I went again yesterday and even though I drove through fog on the way there and fog on the way back, Padley was fog free. That's how it goes I suppose. I think the mushroom might be an Amethyst Deceiver. Thanks for watching Andrew. 😊

    yeah number 5!! I'm off up there this week actually, hoping the leaves are still on the trees after the wind we've been having. I agree with you about the gatekeeping. I've never felt the need to 'hide' a location....it is a national park after all and you can buy tours, tour books, photography location books etc. I was reading earlier today that the average car park in the PD makes around £175k per annum, so it's hardly a secret spot. You're right to mention that we should all respect these areas, that should be the message, not concealing the beauty.

      Agreed Dave - well put. Hope you get some good conditions at Padley. It's fairly sheltered down in the gorge, so hopefully it fared alright. Thanks for watching mate. 😊

    Nice images Robert. Amazing how much detail you can capture with the macro lens. I think I passed you in Padley yesterday just before the heavens opened! Look forward to seeing your video from there next week. The colours are looking fantastic there at the moment so I imagine you got some really nice images despite the lack of fog

      Cheers for watching Anthony. Yeah, up the top near the gate, right? This video was from the previous week, but haven't had much luck with the fog. As you say though, great colours and I think I still got some decent images. Did you manage to get some good ones?

      @@Robert-Bishop that’s right. We did pass near the gate. I would have stopped and chatted, but by the time the Penny had dropped it was too late. I did get some nice images thanks. My first time photographing in Padley, so I will need to get back several times as there is so much potential isn’t there? Look forward to seeing your images from the day

      No worries, I'm sure we'll bump into each other again! Yeah, it's great, I think I could spend every weekend there! 😁

    Hi Robert, with image stacking, do you just shoot in high burst mode then blend them together in software?

    • @Robert-Bishop
      @Robert-Bishop  5 месяцев назад

      Hi Maggie, the focus needs to be adjusted between each shot, so using burst will not help. Some cameras have a feature to automatically adjust the focus in intervals and take a shot each time. In Nikon cameras this is called Focus Shift Shooting. I have a video about it here: ruclips.net/video/-D2Rt28QABg/видео.html
