When I talked about charging and idle drain I have no idea what I was talking about. Idle drain is weird, sometimes low, sometimes losing 30% overnight. It should take roughly 2 hours to charge from dead. Sorry for the confusion.

I preordered the black one a while back and its a few days out from showing up.
Not quite sure what playstore games i would want to put on it that also lets me utilize the controls, but the clamshell design (being my favorite) screams ds and 3ds and is likely what i would use it for the most part. Having a touch screen is also a boon for those games since swapping between screens with the shoulder buttons might take a bit to get used it, but being able to poke the 'bottom screen' to do things feels natural and is what i was missing in other emulation options. Has the right game feel if you know what i mean.
I think the reason why they made the air intake on the bottom and the holes on the top is because of the whole heat rising thing
Apart from the cheap plastic hinge that connects the screen to the controller area of the handheld which breaks . Stick to the RP3+ it isn't made substandard unlike the pocket flip.
No dedicated menu button. Like, why?

Thinking about getting one. Does it allow purchase downloads of the retro games into it like the virtual console? If so, I’m getting it.
It runs Android. You download the emulators from the store or during setup and you source the ROMs yourself. There are of course games you can buy in the Play store as well.

Can you please make an easy to understand guide to set up the retro pocket flip. All the other videos look confusing and mine is coming pretty soon and I don’t know how to get everything started for my roms.
Possibly. It's honestly a pretty simple setup process, it'll ask you which emulators you want to install. If you end up not knowing what one was and missing something you can just go to the Play store and search "snes emulator" or whatever you're looking for and install whatever you need.

I love the concept of this device but there is a lot of wasted space on the bottom section. Many other people have made this statement but seem to constantly compare it to a Nintendo DS. I understand the comparison due to the form factor, but having a second screen is a ridiculous expectation in my opinion, but it does not take away the fact that there is wasted space.
Why aren't the buttons bigger and more like a console controller? Why are the speakers not front firing? Why are the start and select buttons in that weird place?
Speakers up top would have been nice

Yes. This is the same as the retroid pocket 3+ which does android games as good/better than most android phones (due to sustained performance vs throttled)
So far I've had no issues
