Arroyo is fine but the chorus in places sound like a group of children singing. It must have been what Bernstein wanted; he sometimes went in a weird direction such as his 1970's Carmen at the Met.
nothing makes me happier than watching Bernstein conduct.
Incredible performance. This is the best "Libera me" that I ever heard.
Alexander Dimitrov 1989 Grammy winning recording with Robert Shaw and Susan Dunn as soloist. Unbelievable. Untouchable.
As well as the soloists being great Lennie really brings out the very best in the orchesta and chorus!!!
