In my most biased, extremely subjective and humble opinion, The Three Little Bops is the best, the funniest and greatest single cartoon ever. I never get tired of watching it and love sharing it with others.

I think 'What's Opera Doc?' will go head to head with it. Oddly enough, from the entirely different end of the spectrum. :)

If we narrowed it down to a category, I'd say The Three Little Bop is probably the best musical-cartoon-short-not-made-by-or-associated-with-disney-or-traditional-looney-tunes-characters. They were kind of their own thing made under the Warner Bros name, and only got featured in one Looney Tunes production as guest characters.

One Froggy Evening was probably the best. It had a universal appeal. Stephen Speilberg called it the "Citizen Kane" of cartoons.

@@bufnyfan1 I have never seen One Froggy Night. But I am sure that it is well worth watching. But since I am huge fan of Jazz music then I will have to go with my Three Little Bops.

Yeah. This is a REALLY rare animated short, in that I can listen to it, without watching it, and it really doesn't lose much. The music and vocals are so great. I mean, the animation is fantastic, too, but even without it this cartoon is absolutely fantastic!

My Dad bought comedy records in the 50's and early 60's and had a comedy compilation album with Stan Freberg, Bob and Ray, Alan Sherman, et al., and my sister and I wore it out. Satire and parody seem outdated these days, and I can't imagine any current musicians participating in a humorous effort like this, which was essentially a satire on hipster jazz cats from that era.

“Well the big bad wolf was really gone,
And with him went his corny horn.
Went out of this world without a trace,
Didn’t go to heaven was the other place!”
I love how back in this time period saying “hell” was basically swearing, so they would say “the other place”. I watched a Twilight Zone episode where this crook is shot dead and thinks he is in heaven only to find it was “the other place”. The don’t mention the word “hell” once in the episode. Clearly this was just the day and age, where as now, saying hell is as PG as it gets! lol
