I got it after selling a XE-4 and it was awesome, but the weight and the bigger form factor, and the weird way of focusing trough the OVF made me use the EVF a lot more, It was like an XE-4 but bigger and heavier, I would get at the edge of being annoyed to use it because how inconvenient it was and I was truly sad because of this feeling, the xpro3 was my dream camera… so I sold it again, and bought me another XE-4 + the 23mmf2 (I bought the XE-4 literally the DAY before prices went from 899€ to 1399€ because of the low stocks and huge demand.) This was the best choice I ever made, the XE-4 is so Fing small and everyone thinks it’s a small tourist camera and don’t even mind it, unlike the xpro3. It’s so light and beautiful that I want to use it all the time. Anyway, the best camera isn’t always your dream camera. Think twice and test it in your own hands before pulling the trigger on any piece of gear. Peace !
This Camera is so sexy! I sold my Fuji gear in 2021 and switched to Sony as they’re better workhorses but I kept my X100F. Unfortunately it got stolen and so I’m looking for a worthy follow up for this as my fun camera. The X100 VI is sexy but especially for street photography I love the idea of not really having a display to shoot with and check every shot. And as much as I love the RAWs I get out of the Sony full frame sensor, I miss the JPEGs I got out of my fujis.
Hey Gerrit, I’ve borrowed xpro3’s multiple times now and damn near bought one twice. It’s one of the most enjoyable cameras I’ve ever used and that screen is very well implemented. BUT, I don’t recommend it because of the screen. I had an X100V and I would simply switch the screen off leading to essentially the same thing but making it even harder to chimp. I have a pair of Canon R6 that I shoot weddings with and the screens stay flipped closed unless I’m at a low or high angle. It works similarly. The xpro3 screen is basically an aesthetic gimmick that could work the same if they put an X100V tilting screen on it. I’m not saying don’t buy one. It’s truly an enjoyable camera but just don’t buy one purely because of the screen. I’d also bet that prices may come down soon as word on the street is the xpro4 is coming :)
I am a long time Fuji shooter, professionally shooting portraits on the X100V and XT3 but I’m actually considering selling the XT3 for this. I would love your thoughts on that? Is the XPRO as good as it seems? I love the way it’s designed and the no chimp logic behind it.
In my view the only real difference between the two is the shooting experience. The xpro line are some of the most enjoyable cameras I’ve used. I love how they feel in my hand. The flip down screen is nice but I don’t buy into their anti-chimp marketing. I think they simply made a design choice to make it look like a film camera. I had an x100v and turned the screen off. The effect felt the same. It’s a beautiful camera to use though and I actually think the look of it will change the experience for your clients too.
@@TheLiamGordon thank you for the excellent comment. All your points are very good. I’m curious, what do you mean it will change the experience for my clients? Is this because I’m able to look at and engage with them more? That’s fascinating. Can you speak on what you mean? I frequently wish the camera wasn’t there between me and my subject. Is that what you meant?
@@babyboy1971 there may well be an element of engagement as they will be able to see more of your face. My perspective is more that the aesthetics of the camera itself changes the experience. Nobody says “that’s a nice camera” when I’m holding a Canon R6 but they do if I’m holding an XPro or a Leica M. So my feeling is that the experience of being the photographed with a “cool” camera will change how the subject perceives the photoshoot. This is all just me guessing though :)
I love many things about photography. The click when a lens locks is in the top 3😂
