When the X-Pro3 was announced, I decided to get the X-Pro2. I read the reports on the changes made to the 3, and found that the 2 would be better for me. I bought it new-in-the-box for less than when it was brand new.
    Some reasons:
The 3 changed the optical finder to where it doesn't allow for very wide angle lenses, the frame lines get too compressed in the window.
    I like the D-pad.
I had the X-T2, and had all the film simulations tweaked out for consistent results. The X-Pro2 allows me to get identical results and my Q menus are exactly the same allowing me to choose which camera to use based on the operation, not the results.
I enjoy my X-Pro2 and am glad to have got it before it was sold out.

Solid reasons it always comes down to personal preffrences when I come to chosing a camera. When I got my first X-pro3 I had an XT4.
Awhile later my X-pro got stolen and a was missing it so I made a trade for a X-pro3 against my XT4.
The X-pro series of cameras have a certain feel too it, that makes me enjoy shooting with it much more than I ever did with my XT4 or any other camera.

No mention of the optical viewfinder's 2 magnifications on the X-Pro2? If anyone is planning on shooting with wide lenses, X-Pro2 is the better option, X-Pro3 only has the 0.52x magnification while X-Pro2 has 0.36x and 0.6x

Agreed. I also have both - XPro3 is snappier in use, and significantly faster in autofocus. The OVF viewfinders differ ; one is better with XF23 and one is better with XF35... I forget myself which way round this is but I think it's the XPro3 which is optimized for XF23.... I agree about the build ; Titanium not that successful in practice. These are my favourite cameras I have ever owned (around 20+ over 40+ years) and still I would tweak the design a fair bit (add 1:1 larger straight through OVF optical viewfinder in order to use both eyes to view naturally in stereo) - also manual mechanical focus lenses, not fly-by-wire. Basically I would go even more retro. That said, these are lovely cameras to use.

The X-Pro2 is *signifcantly* better with the XF50mm which I feel don’t work that well with X-Pro3 since it only have a single magnification unlike X-Pro2 which has two magnifications.
I don’t see why the X-Pro2 should be much worse with the XF23mm as it works very well with the wide magnification.

As a photographer that started his love affair with photography 45 years ago, the Xpro 2 is the closest I have come to analogical photography of yesterday. I would feel embarrassed taking a photo using a screen that drops down as in the Xpro 3. Sorry that’s just me

Hmm... The thing is that you don't use the screen but the view finder on the X-pro3
I would say X-pro3 gives more of an analog experience. But X-pro1 is the king if we look on colors.

Regarding the sensor colours. Personally I think the colours are slightly better with my X-Pro2 vs X100V (that’s my stand in for X-Pro3), but where the big difference is in high ISO noise. The noise on the X-Pro2/XT-2/etc generation of cameras is just beautiful. It doesn’t quite look like film (only film looks like film), but it has this gorgeous organic quality, that I think sadly is missing in the newer generation of cameras.
Roligt å se folk snakka om *detaljer i sjølve bruken av kamera* og ikke bare det tekniske spesifikasjoner. Jettebra video! (Beklaga min svorsk. 😂)

I like your comparison! These are two magnificent cameras. If I had to choose one that should have been the XPRO 3 only for the hidden screen. As for the Back button focus… the existence of such a button (and AF in general) in a camera like XPRO 3 is a shame in my opinion. That camera meant to be used only with MF lenses! If I wanted AF there’s numerous options from Fuji like XE4, XT5, XS10 or XH2…

there is some Chinese manual lenses that are small and nice as well.
looking forward for the xpro4 I hope the get rid of the small lcd and make the gap of the rear lcd smaller and less vissable.

Two megapixels does make a difference, as I can’t remember if they changed the sensor from the 2 to 3. But it does make a difference especially when you crop!
I used to own the pro2 until the viewfinder broke, a common problem with the camera. I can’t remember if the pro2 was made in Japan, or China, same with the pro3?
My X 100V was made in Japan and it’s put together extraordinarily well - no problems so far. On the other hand my XT4 was made in China and I’ve had nothing but problems with it. First the back screen went out and then less than a year later the shutter button froze and I couldn’t get a picture for anything. A very costly repair.

    • @Kim_Alexander

Dude we are talking about 6000 x 4000 VS 6240 x 4160 what's that a 3,9% difference? It makes no difference In practical use.
I never hade any issues with my viewfinder on the X-pro3 it's a different design compared to Pro1 & 2 (if you look at the very first frame in my film your see that it covers all the glas witch the older one don't)
I pretty sure that all X-pro modes are made in Japan, at least my X-pro1 & 3 are. I don't own the pro2 any more. The XT models seams to be made in China. Fun things with camera problems, I been making my living out of photography for 17 years, and never had any problem with any camera (knock in wood)
I hope you are more lucky with you cameras in the future.

    • @Kim_Alexander
      @Kim_Alexander  Год назад

      @@simon359 less than a 4% difference ;)
I don't think the difference you see is due to the megapixel.
I came across this @pal2tech film yesterday: ruclips.net/video/IT8hI_BenyE/видео.html
He compare XT3 against the XT4 I was surprised about the difference considering that it's the same sensor.
There is also this link: mirrorlesscomparison.com/preview/fujifilm-xpro2-vs-xpro3/
Where they compare XT2 (X-trans3 sensor) vs XT3 (X-trans4 sensor)
Where the X-trans3 performs bether on noise performance at higher Iso. However if it reduce more noise in camera that could result in a softer image when you crop.
I think what you experience is a combination of this things rather than megapixel count.
Same goes for some sensors that have anti aliasing filter witch soften the images slightly however fuji X-trans don't need anti aliasing filter

One huge difference is the fiddly ISO/Shutter Speed combo dial. On the X-Pro2 you either deal with it (completely unnecessary and quirky IMHO) or you set it to Auto ISO. On the Pro3 you now have the option to use one of the Command dials (like the X-E4 and X-100V) to control ISO. I hate the flip screen and would have concerns about that ribbon connector. Then there's the sticking shutter button that is currently the subject of a class action lawsuit in the US. I love Fuji, but they make it difficult.
