Today I show you guys how I setup my fujifilm xpro2 for street photography! I like to shoot the Xpro 2 like it were a film camera and so a lot of the setup is to initiate shooting a Leica rangefinder. I also go through some of the film simulations I use! Comment below if you guys want more fuji film content!

You have the best channel on youtube right now! Thank you for all the dope info you bless us with every time !
Informative video thanks man. Learnt some things I didn’t know about this beauty!
X-Pro 2 showing up next week. Will definitely gives those recipes a try. Great content!
I have the Xpro 3 and it is an amazing camera, thanks for all the information and hope to visit San Francisco again soon.
Thanks for the video. I really liked your settings. Your settings are very similar to the ones I use.
My original plan was to shoot a Fuji X-Pro2 until I I could buy a Leica digital rangefinder that I liked. After I purchased the Leica M10, I was going to sell my X-Pro2 but was surprised to discover that I really preferred the X-Pro2 for street photography.
My desire for the X-Pro2 was because I did not like the shutter limitations of the X100 cameras. Tried an X100S with both the wide and tele conversion lenses but the limitations when shooting wide open (f2) made it impossible. Sometimes the 3-stop ND filter helped but it just wasn't meant for me. The capabilities of the X-Pro2 (shutter speed and ISO range) take me back to my Nikon days when I was working as a newspaper photographer. The one difference I have is I preferred the 35mm f2 WR lens (50mm FOV) so it is like what Cartier-Bresson used with his Leica M3 and 50mm Summicron.
Oh, and I learned about back button focus with a Contax G2 rangefinder that I once owned and that carried over the the X100 cameras and the X-Pro2.
I will definitely try your Kodachrome and HP5 settings on my X-Pro2, thanks for posting those., they are two of my favorite films I have shot.
I am about to sell off 5 of my 6 Fuji X cameras but the one I am keeping is the Pro2. Best camera Fuji has made other than the X100V, imho... and that shutter sound of the Pro2 is so solid and awesome isn't it?!
nice tips, thanks!
I came to Fujifilm from Leica M film cameras also. I set my X-Pro2 up very similar to your method, but I have really embraced AUTO-ISO. The camera allows for three AUTO-ISO settings, so you can adjust them for various lenses or situations to allow for seamless transitions during dynamic shooting based on your slowest shutter speed preference and your highest ISO tolerance.
This really allows you to just get on with shooting and let's you look at the subjects and not the camera.
Why did you go from Leica to Fuji and are you happy so far?
@@KTK44 I went to Fujifilm after it became prohibitively harder to find film and to get it processed at a reasonable cost. My Leica and Nikon film cameras were (are) still fully operational, but in my area, there are no photography stores or labs that have film support.
I accept digital, but didn't want to change my way of shooting. Fujifilm gives me the most analog-like experience in terms of the hardware, and I'm happy with it.
FWIW, I also have full frame Nikon DSLRS and can still mount my older manual focus lenses, but mirrorless has won me over, so the Fujis are in my hand most often.
Thank you for the talk ... I have an XPro-2 question ; I want to use AF-L to just lock focus ( not to actually perform focus )... any ideas how ?
The Pro2 is a fantastic camera, definitely one of my favourite digital cameras. I shot mine for 2 years but sold it last week and bought a Leica M-P 240.
How's your Leica??
How're you enjoying the gimmick camera brand
@@cine-ish because fake range finder and film sims isn't gimmicky 🤣
@@SourPlanet it has infinitely more usability than a leica.
@@cine-ish The Leica does exactly what it's supposed to do. Nothing more, nothing less.
The Fuji pretends to do what a Leica does because it can't actually do it. It pretends to be film, which it can't even remotely match.
Fanboys call the latter a gimmick because the former is all they can make use of and/or afford. Get bills and skills, kiddo.
Hello King! I just like to ask about the white balance of the said kodachrome recipe, it is in auto but do you also apply white balance shifts? Thank you and God Bless to your channel!
Hi, great videos. Can you please share the details of your thumb grip on the XPro2
Hello there! If you are shooting with manual focus and with ovf then how do you know where are the frame lines ? When you auto focus then in the ovf the frame lines drop down and right to compensate the parallax effect. So how do you know how the final image will look like ?
Hi King, got any videos on how to use trl cameras?
I use my X-E3 and 27mm for street. While not up to X-pro 2 status, still in the Fuji fam. I set mine to zone focus, 1/250 f16. I let's da ISO run wherever it wants. 😁 I watched your QL17 video a few years ago and that's why I picked mine up. Since using it, that 40mm focal length has grown on me.
Other than the body design and some controls and number of card slots, it is basically the same camera, same sensor. You will get the same image out of both bodies with that lens. Don't fret too much about not having the X-Pro but it is such a solid camera but a bit bigger than the X-E bodies.
Be careful with that f16 aperture, a lot of diffraction could be generated. It would be equivalent to a f22 aperture in Full frame system... The sweet spot of that 27mm is between f5.6 and f8, but is sharp even in 2.8
Hi. I' looking for this Portra 160vc reciepes you Talking about and can't find it. How do you set WB shift for it? On fuji weekly app i found only standard portra 160 and i don't like it very much.
Lol right when my xpro1 gets delivered to me today this video comes out how convenient! #Fujigang
What is that thumb grip called? All the ones I’ve tried are super small lol
Can u do a full pov with that setup?
Great video bud. Thanks for recipe’s 🙌 #xPro2 #family
Nice tips, thankyou. My X-Pro2 should be delivered soon. I usually shoot street from the chest but hope the X-Pro2 will give me the courage to shoot from eye level now and then. I zone focus too so your tips are welcome. I will shoot RAW+fine and see what I think of the jpegs. Here in the UK folks are not used to having their pictures taken on the street so eye level shooting will garner attention and I'll probably limit it to distance shooting where the background makes the shot as opposed to my chest shooting where the subjects dominate..
In the UK, you are right in saying that street photography is still seen as intrusive. It is always a case for astute awareness of body language, of both the photographer and subject. It has taken me some years to reach a point when I feel entirely comfortable. If the artistic element is the driving force, it helps.
Not sure if anyone has this problem. But I have picture preview on my xpro2 and when I snap a photo, the photo is overexposed. I have to underexpose all my photos to get the right exposure. Anyone know why I might be having this issue? 😢
Very good and informative video. On another thought All things being equal I doubt any body can look at two identical pictures and tell which one was taken with a Leica or the Xpro2. Most of the time people are paying for name recognition
Do you use the JPEGs from the camera or do you use those settings for visualization only and replicate them again in Lightroom (or other image editor)?
Interesting question. I'd like to know the answer.
Thank you, that was informative. We would have benefitted from some examples of the various film set-up, pros & cons in various situations. Thank you / Diolch yn fawr.
Zone focus for street
Hi there... Is that squarehood ???
Very interesting focusing method!
Never even considered that especially with an autofocus lens.
Have you ever shot on the mean streets?
@@atroche1978 nah only a few times casually.
Get a good manual focus lens it slows you down to consider the shot. Voitlander
@@raygeary1698 I only ever use manual focus lenses even way back when on my xpro 3. I use a set of contax g lenses that have been converted to M mount. That said, I never even considered that focusing method especially with an autofocus lens.
Now who you got Drake or Kendrick?
You have fujifilm x e2 ?
Why not also fix / manually choose the shutter speed and just have the ISO in auto?
I know I'm late to the party.. but the answer is film. Film shooters understand how lighting will effect their shutter speed and can use ISO as the gate and optimize noise knowing sharpness is safe. Digital shooters optimize shutter speed and let noise be whatever it will be.
12:15 nice
What thumb grip is that?
pretty sure it is the type b from fotodiox (fotodioxpro.com/products/gr-thu-b?variant=33555355527)
