Very interesting and honest. Many ”photographs” buy too much camera than they need.
This is brilliant. Taking time to address the compulsion we all have to buy the latest. You can see how much everyone suffers from GAS - even the influencers.
My Xpro1 is still used regularly and is not going anywhere, 10 years old, still a great looking camera that takes superb images.
Subbed! I’m out here window shopping and the very end of this video made me realize I need to go create with what I have. Thank you!
Still rocking an Fuji X-70 and XPRO1 and love them! Did get a dose of the inevitable GAS and 'upgraded' to the 24mp sensor and then reverted straight back to the older sensors as preferred the SOOC JPEGs. Great video btw 👌
That was a fantastic video. I would dare say that I and many other photographers should watch or rewatch this before ever buying a different camera. Thank you for sharing your work and views.
Fantastic video mate! Really insightful and incredibly useful advice. New gear is always an easy decision. Actually working your photography skills, and defining your photography goals, is definitely not.
Well said & thank you for sharing .
The most expensive camera I purchased new was a Nikon D800. I still have it, and use it, ten years and over 20,000 photos later. Your new camera will last longer than your phone, so don't feel guilty.
After comparing the two, I bought a used X-Pro2. It has every capability (lens capabilities, adjustable viewfinder, 1/8000 top shutter speed, auto ISO, etc.) that I wanted.
just found your channel. great discussion!
Thank you for the video.
Interesting topic and discussion on GAS. To me life is way too short not to enjoy what you love, whether is simply collecting cameras or photography, don't feel guilty for temporary owning/borrowing and playing things we like/love in life. :)
Good video. GAS clouds your vision (no pun intended) and common sense! Awaiting my X-pro2 in the mail. I have an X-E3 and love this camera but it's very small for my hands and consequently I leave it home. The X-pro will fill the bill with the same internal specs, I hope! These cameras are holding and in many cases increasing in value so I may sell the X-E3. Tks again!!
Hi, you mentioned it in your video. Why do we go out and take photos? This question is related to the x-pro series of cameras. We do it for the JOY of photography and to enjoy photography in the way we did with film photography and the way the x-pro cameras allow you to do so. Apart from Leica, which many can not afford, there are not too many cameras available that is affordable. Thanks for your thoughts. Cheers
Your point about deciding
I had been shooting with Fuji X-Pro1.
I like your definition of GAS very much!
I came for the fun chit chat talk, and I left with an existentialist dilemma, great video anyway
After years of only owning point-and-shoots and iPhones, I decided I wanted a proper camera that I knew I would be able to grow into. A camera beautiful enough that I would feel compelled to use it. I got an X-Pro 3 because of these things and because of the hidden screen! I take photos with a screen on my iPhone regularly, so I wanted my relationship to a camera to be all about the viewfinder.
