Genetic dark circle girls - who else gets asked if they are sick or tired all.the.time 🙋🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Paula Smith I only have a dark circle under my left eye, so people mostly ask me if I got a black eye ("did you get into a fight" questions) 😅
I get asked that all the time!
OH GOD. its a curse I tell you :( I must try the L'Oreal Infallible. Fingers crossed it wont break my heart like all the other ones I've tried before🤞🥺
It's a STRUGGLE, I also have one dark circle darker than the other and really dry, sensitive skin, so it's a stingy, cakey mess with most concealers I've tried.
The only silver lining about having these crazy dark circles is that when we are sick and don't wear make up, people actually take us seriously and give us a break. I once had a period and was too exhausted to stand in front of the mirror and put on make up. So I just wore mascara and went to work. Within 5 minutes my boss called a cab and sent me home. He was like I don't know what's wrong but you look seriously unwell and I insist you go home. So yeah milk it girls! Lol

Thank you❤
Thankyou
Thank u so much. Don’t have to,listen to F..K so many times to get the message
Ohh, i love you girl
Finally someone with serious GENETIC dark circles. I get so sick of the influencers who say stuff like, "yea, I have terrible dark circles. I haven't slept much" when they barely have any visible darkness. It's like, sis, it doesn't matter how much sleep I get, how much water I drink, etc., my dark circles are the true definition of dark and terrible every single day. Even in middle and high school, I had these dark circles and would wake up every morning trying to conceal them before school. My daughter now has those same dark circles. Bless her heart. Thanks for this video. We share some of the same favorite concealers.
Oh god my kids are gonna be so fucked 😑 I totally get you, that used to always bother me. I think that’s why my dark circle videos have done well here on my channel, because I actually HAVE dark circles 😂
Kenetrice Nichole eat garlic can help you (I have been a dark circle before)
@@iplay2166 I also have genetic, extremely dark circles and I eat plenty of garlic. I can tell you that grlic isn't going to help. It's about either having extra pigmentation around the eyes or whether the veins underneath your skin are more visible or not, and that's not something you can change, unfortunately.
When i was in elementary school my teacher actually asked my mum if i was sleeping at night because of how bad my dark circles looked!
Luckly now i'm used to having them, but i always feel a little bit insecure if i don't put make up on to conceal them
@@butterflies.and.sunshine i had no idea genetic dark circles was actually a thing. Mine have been dark as long as i can remember. It's good to know I'm not the only one!
Hands down the best concealer video anyone's ever made.
GlowLilly, I totally agree loved how she compared the concealers!
@@MiasSerenity and how she actually something to cover. Excellent demonstrations.
and she is no fun to watch!

Im tired of these videos of perfect people "concealing" their nonexistent dark circles, thank you🥰

As soon as I heard that I subscribed too. I also feel like everything pulls pink or orange and I have serious genetic dark circles to deal with. It is honestly so difficult to find concealer or foundation with olive undertones.
Omg same
Yup same!

Thank you for this summary. I don't have 40 mins but really want to see the best of the best.
I absolutely LOVE that she doesn’t apply the whole bottle of concealer on her face making dumb shapes like other people do. Ugh respect ✊🏼
Yes! That’s so obnoxious!
I know how to drag it out! That’s fun and easy! I’m trying to learn to look natural here! 👑♥️😍
I agree that the Age Rewind concealer is light coverage. It doesn’t do anything to cover my dark under eye circles. Great review video!
Danielle do you think that is because it isn’t recommended to use heavy coverage on older skin?
I've heard a lot of people say this, which makes me more confused about why people love it so much.
I love age rewind coz of its undertone but I agree, I had high expectations of the coverage but it turned out to be light coverage
Age rewind is the worst concealer is so light coverage defenitively is not for dark circles it doesnt work for me
The thing about Age Rewind is this: It is the only concealer I have ever tried that does not crease, cake, settle into lines or make me look suddenly older. Add to that the fact that it is oil free and non-comedogenic meaning it can double up as a center of the face, chin etc highlighter without causing breakouts and it is basically everything I ever wanted. For me, it changed my makeup game.
You can remove the sponge from the age rewind! It's like a little "tap" on the inside and you'll be able to control the amount of product you want to use, you won't lose a lot of product in the sponge + it's hygienic.
Thank you! I didn't know this and the sponge drives me mad!
Hey Idk if this helps but I actually removed the sponge and didn’t like it, I had to open a new one I had laying around just so I could use the sponge because I didn’t like how it was blending, it was weird lol
I don’t understand why there’s people unlike this video....what’s wrong with this video? It’s super useful and she put a lot of effort into it!!!!!!! Can you guys be nicer?
I think its long video thats y ppl disliked.
Just an fyi it is now possible to hire Bots to go and thumbs down a video so when you see thumbs down it could also be a creator that hates somebody paying to have thumbs down on that person's video. Just as easily a Creator can also pay to have Bots thumbs up there video. I really wish they would make these practices illegal and it would be easier to find out if somebody is doing it because I just want to know the truth. I really like her videos though because she is harder on the products and doesn't just love everything
@Holly Abb Bingo.
But the content has great concealer contenders, nonetheless 😊
She talks too much. Just get in there with the concealer and call it a day
alison silva So many of these make up/ hair shows are, sometimes I feel like they are speaking to 1st graders
Finally someone with dark circles. I got those genetic dark circles so I really be out here 😔✊
ugh same dark circle gang unite
Yes I always had them.
I look like I’ve been in a bar fight!
I already know I passed the dark circle gene to my girl and she's only 4yrs old, lol
Try genetics PLUS bad allergies 😭😂
I love that you throughly explain what each concealer does or is best for.
Thank you so much for putting your eyes through this for us! You've taught me more in this 40 minute video than I've learned about concealers in 30 years! Thank you!!
I'm a cancer patient on chemo that swears by Morphe Fluidity Full-Coverage Concealer. I have had bad genetic dark circles my whole life, but this is next level on chemo. This Morphe stuff is magical. My skin tended to be oily, but I'm in my 40's and the undereye area can get very dry if not well taken care of. Sets well with just a finger tap, and the difference is stark when I've done just the one eye. Wide shade range with a variety of undertones, and inexpensive too. Would love to see your comments on this one!
Thanks for the tip, I might have to pick it up tomorrow 😂! Also, best of luck with your fight with cancer :) this whole community supports you!
Maria Evans I hope u get well and I wish you all the best
Maria Evans get well soon fighter. 😊
Best wishes for your recovery! Are your dark circles more brown or blue/purple?
@@zoegranville7607 Thanks! Mine are reddish purple, very pink skintone, but Morphe makes a huge range of shades to match virtually any face.
L’Oréal concealer is so nice! I’m a professional makeup artist and I have it in my kit and love it. It’s better then shape tape. It’s not drying. It for St crease and coverage is amazing!
FINALLY a video with a person with actual dark circles and wrinkles. Thank you for this in depth review of so many concealers, even though only 2 (i think?) might be available where i live but this was very informative. You got a new subscriber. :)
😂 Glad it helped! ❤️
Wrinkles where?
She doesn’t have any wrinkles though lol
@@joannasaad298 sorry i meant creases around the eyes

If you’re in the UK or Australia, the L’Oréal concealer is called ‘infallible Longwear more than concealer’.
Earthy Acts i have this concealer and I blend to shades. I have bought concealer from Yves saint Laurent which is very good. Also the concealer of le prairie
Its called the same here in the states. It's also called a concealer because its not a foundation.
I'd love to see these concealers in a side by side battle. Then maybe a ranking from most to least coverage at the end!! Loving this dark circle "series" 😍😍😍
Was so happy how impressed you were with the loreal concealer! I'm under-priming my eyes. It didn't hit me till you talked about it here. Very thorough. A lot of takeaways for me in this video. Thanks so much. I personally loved this long video!
You’re so articulate; you sound so pleasant because your sentences aren’t fragmented and you exercise your vocabulary. Bravo!
Finally someone who understands us ‘dark-under-eyed-people’❤️😂
Girl i love hearing you talk because its like listening to a teacher !!
I don’t know how i landed on your channel but im glad i did. Finally a real unedited not sponsored review of concealers on a person with realistic eyes. Thank you for this it helped so much. Very pretty by the way and the hair cut on you is fire 🔥 ❤️❤️
That Loreal concealer has been my go-to for a while now. I never find myself reaching for anything else since finding it. It doesn't take a lot for a nice application AND the price is BOMB!
@♓️ CP it’s a lovely product. I’m still using it. I’ve since added ELF and Milani, as well.
I know this video is a year old already, (can you even believe it?), but I still come back to the concealer vids now and then because I too have terrible under eye darkness, and your recommendations and how in depth you get into the descriptions of them really help me choose the ones that will work best for my aging and ever changing undereye. And btw, you can never talk too much Alex. I could literally listen to your voice all day. It's sooooo soothing and calming for me. Thanks for consistently going the extra mile with information for us. ❤
Alexandra you are awesome girl! i love youre realness and bluntness! youre videos have helped me do my makeup being that im 34 years old and just started getting into makeup, A MILLION THANK YOUS!
I love how im in another country where all this products doesn't exist but i see all this videos
Same.the struggle is real
ugh i know the feeling. and if you really want something you gotta order it online. and that makes the price skyrocket with shipping and import costs etc etc
Yeeeesss
Same here , but as I know or see L’Oréal Revolution and revlon products are everywhere in the work I think , I found them in Africa and Europe and Asia
I have never found a concealer that worked for me that didn’t look caked or grey ( I have olive skin) until I found infallible, I love it, the feel, the look and great value for money.
This is literally the one and only dark circle girl who made me feel i'm not the only one who has this problem FOR REAL!
thanks babe
Best you tube video on concealers. Thank you Alexandra for the amazing demonstrations! Concealers have always been very confusing and difficult to buy, and you made my life a lot easier in making a choice of what to buy,
Need a wear test/comparison between the shape tape and the l’Oreal! Pretty please!
I have under eye darkness just like this and I've started using the becca under eye highlight under my concealer and it has made the biggest difference ever, cannot recommend it enough.
Thank you
I’ve been using revlon candid one for the past three months and I can say that it is the best concealer for my under eyes which has really dark circles. Occasionally I use the concealer all over my face cz I don’t like using foundation everyday, It stays on my skin even after 12 hours, doesn’t crack, I dont have to really retouch or reapply it throughout the day and it is buildable quite nicely. I have light skintone with yellow undertone, and I haven’t tried anything new yet (before I’ve used the age rewind and I can’t find the perfect match for my skin color, now with revlon candid I found mine, no 30)
Love how you just talk so naturally without editing out forgetting words etc...so genuine sounding and I feel like if you didn't like a product you wouldn't be able to endorse it.
I can't thank you enough that you did this video! I have dark circles that've been living my under eyes without paying rent for my entire life. I've been struggling to find good concealers and this video is so much helpful. Subed and definitely gonna buy a Loreal one!
edit: I received my Loreal one this morning and I just put this without anything but with orange color correcter underneath of it. This consealer made my under eyes look flowless for the first time in my life and it lasted till midnight! This video is life changer for me and I'm so speachless! Thank you Alex, thank you×∞
I wish you'll have a wonderful holiday!
I LOVE the way you talk (pace, voice... everything) 😍
Love this video, very helpful! I've always had natural dark circles and have always been very self conscientious of them so I'm super excited to try one of these!
The revlon candid foundation and concealer are legit my favorite combination ever, the wear is so good even after a 10 hour shift😫😍
The loreal concealer truly has the best coverage ..and it isn't even that expensive ..love it .❤️
I can actually trust your review because you have serious dark circles like me. I’ve tried lots of “full coverage” concealers but nothing beats tarte shape tape for me. Plus the fact that I don’t have to set it for it look good all day is such a huge plus! I can’t go back to any other concealer
Thank you so much. I now have found a concealer that actually works on my dark eyes. I have natural dark circles and find it difficult to cover them. Your advice and demonstration helped me choose something that worked! Finally ✌️🥳
I'm light with olive undertones and very dark circles all the way around, too. And I totally agree about the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer in Neutralize. It's such a great shade match that I keep it around, but idk why, cause it doesn't cover my dark circles and its so thin that it slides right off my oily skin, even after setting with powder foundation, lol!
I bought the L'Oreal Infallible after watching this video and it's EVERYTHING!!!! Thank you, I've really been searching for something this good for the price 😊
One thing that you have taught me Alexandra is that I was putting far too much concealer on but then blending it out far too much so that in the end I hadn't concealed anything. Also I have learnt where is the best place to put the concealer in the first place. Finally I would never have thought of really moisturising the under eye area,to the extent like you have suggested, as being a good thing.I normally use a serum and only a light amount which is obviously after watching you, no way enough to stop the dreaded cakey, dryness I would end up with.I thought my eyes would end up looking puffy if I was to use more moisture on my under eye area. I am only half way through the video and I have been taught so much already from listening and watching your application techniques, Ty I can't wait to try everything out xXx Dii x
Aw I so glad it’s helped! Hydrating you’re under eye is going make such a huge difference! Just make sure you let it sink in a little bit before applying ❤️
This is the kind of reviews I enjoy watching and really trust. Suscribed! Great content, Alex!
as someone with pale-olive skin and genetic dark circles who prefers to wear minimal makeup, this video was such a great find. definitely going to try out some of the concealers in this video! ♥️
Finally someone who also struggles with dark circle! New subscriber! The elf 24 hr camo concealer is a dupe for the tarte shape tape. It’s a lot creamier and doesn’t set as quick.
The Loreal Infallible concealer has actually replaced Tarte Shape Tape for me 👍 love your videos and your whole esthetics!
Ahhh I just think you’re fucking fantastic! I really appreciate all the knowledge you pass on, especially for us folk with dark under eyes but I really appreciate your genuine real delivery. You’re natural, down to earth no bullshit fakeness and that’s a big part of why I come back to watch your videos time after time
Omg Alex!! Thank you so much!! This video was exactly what I needed!! I’ve been trying find someone who has dark circles and to see the full cover. I’m going to buy the infallible L’Oréal now! Thank you for testing out alllll the concealers!!! X
I have dark undereye circles as well, and all the options mentioned as “good” have been my holy grails for months! I personally find shape tape too dry for my dry skin even after moisturizer prep
Maybe you would really like the Too Faced concealer! It definitely has a lot to do with different skin types and how they react to the formula.
I've heard the new Makeup Revolution Conceal and Hydrate is a good concealer. I am waiting for it to come to Canada so I can try it.
Me too it never really worked for me I find colorscience and it cosmetics in the pink tube to be the best for me, keeping in mind I'm 46 and a lil crepey under the eye and I don't expect a miracle smoother :)
Not sure what your moisture prep is, however I found that the only way I could effectively use up the Shape Tape I had was to put argan oil under my eyes, and by the time I got to concealer some magic had occurred, and Shape Tape was my friend.
once i found too faced concealer, there was no going back. I like it better than shape tape, boeing, and cover fx (which is another really good one for dark circles though). Its full coverage and lasts all day if you set it.
I have a fair olivey skintone similar to you and I love the shade you mentioned in the age rewind concealer. I use it almost like a foundation most of the time. And I find the yellowy color corrector shade you mentioned as a super good match to my skin tone (and the finish is beautiful and dewy)
I’ve done that too! The color is great!
Love watching u! Ur personality is awesome & I really appreciate how thorough u r 😍😍
You're the only RUclipsr I've ever seen where I can *actually* see your dark circles! Hereditary dark circles over here and I'm thrilled to find this video. Thank you sooooo much 💋
The Loreal is my favorite drugstore concealer! For the dark circle battle I'm fighting over here no what I'm saying?Good Vibes Your Way!Happy Holidays!
Finally someone with REAL dark circles (like mine). I can't tell you how many times it irritates me watching someone complain their about dark circles, AND THEY'RE NOT EVEN DARK! Without concealer I look like the living dead. Although I'm usually a Shape Tape girl, I'm definitely going to try the L'Oreal one. Thanks!! I wanted to try the Dose of Colors one but now I'm worried about the shade range. We'll see.
What I love about your videos is that your voice and personality seems to down to earth. You seem so chill, I love your videos where you just sit and chat. I was really looking forward to the colourpop no filter concealer when it was released. I ordered two shades, but I had no idea they oxidize. So I ended up giving them away to my cousins. :(
Young lady, you have earned my subscription. Super informative and I love how genuine you are! Keep being YOU. I'm buying the L'oreal Infallible because of this video. You're amazing...I'll be watching! ❤❤❤
I wanted you to keep talking. I was interested in what you had to say about how Tarte Shape Tape changed everything.
The L’Oréal infallible one is such a good concealer and I definitely want to get my hands on the Revlon concealer 😍
I'm too obsessed with the L'Oreal one!
Me too! ❤ for Infallible. Esp the peachy shade to color correct dark undereye circles, and the green shade to correct red/inflamed areas. It is very creamy......very nice on those of us w dry skin.
Yes!! 💜
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I have large dark eyebags, finally i found someone who could explain, demonstrate the whole process!!! Thank you once again! i have the correct concealer to buy as to not look like my face has been caked
the l’oreal concealer is hands down my favourite, you literally put 1 drop and it covers everything so well. it doesn’t dry and crease 🤌🏻
i’m light with olive undertones and I HAVE THE HARDEST TIME finding concealer shades. brands need to make more olive tones
I'm using Too Faced Born This Way Light Beige. It is perfect for me. I'm light beige, they have a very wide range of shades.
And I have undereyes like Alexandra's
Smashbox has a good light olive foundation and concealer
This video was so helpful because I'm a light olive skin tone with hereditary dark circles.
I love how genuine and just real you are in your videos! :)
Love how authentic and casual she is!
Helpful tip: Marula oil is GREAT for dry under eyes as a primer for full coverage concealer (the kind that is self setting). It is a quicker absorbing oil (takes like 5-10 mins to absorb instead of 30) and keeps the concealer from creasing while moisturizing the skin. I also use it as my night oil as my last step before bed and wake up with the most plump supple skin. Great for dry skin and the winter months. Acure makes a really good Marula oil at less than a third of the price of the drunk elephant one. Their Argan oil is also excellent. You’re welcome. 😊
I use the L’Oréal AND Shape Tape together. Love them both!!!! Great vid, Alex
There's nothing like mixing! ❤️
I love u so much girl!!!! I love how u gave maybelline a chance, and how honest and natural u are not just with ur reviews but everything in this video (expression, the way u talk, etc.)
I have dark purple/blue circles due to being sooo translucent and with prominent eyes due to facial surgery I needed as a child. The area tends to be a lot drier than my oily ass face. So finding a concealer that will cover but not dry my skin and not crease really bad was like a marathon for me. Finally tried the Elf hydrating camo concealer and it’s the best one I’ve found. Sorry for the looong message but really appreciated your attention to detail and informative videos. Love you ❤️❤️
Try the Isa Dora - Camouflage Concealer... the coverage is so sick
Finally, some undereyes I can actually relate to and trust 😩😂
Thank you for this, I've been looking for a helpful video for my dark circles! I have hereditary dark circles and the struggle is REAL. In all the makeup tutorials I've seen, they never actually have dark circles, so it was nice to see someone who actually has it!
Right??? So many people talk about their “dark circles” and I’m like GURL. You got bright under eyes 😑
I have very dark circles, and sunken in eyes. I love, love, love the Loreal infallible concealer, it's the only drugstore concealer that works for me, I will continue to repurchase it
finally someone with dark circles, everyone that does these reviews has NONE and it’s annoying, so i’m so glad to find this honest review
This is the tutorial i always knew i needed
I love Neutrogena 3-2-1 concealer (available at Target). A tiny amount applied with my pinky finger covers the darkness without settling in wrinkles. It's light weight, blends easily, and brightens beautifully!
Love this review so much! My two favorite concealers that I always use are both from Maybelline! The first one is Fit Me in the shade 5 during the summer and in the shade 15 during summer, and the second one is the Age Rewind Eraser with that sponge applicator. I really love both 😊
I’m completely in agreement with what you said about maybelline age rewind and makeup revolution conceal & define concealers. I never understood the hype as those never worked for me either.
I was gonna recommend the loreal one. I really think it’s similar to the shape tape but it’s less drying and I’ve never heard anyone saying that. Also you can remove the sponge from the maybelline concealer it makes it more clean and precise. Thank you so much appreciate your effort ❤️❤️
This video is extensive and very informative. Thank you for all the valuable info. You are gorgeous despite the dark circles ....... I recently purchased the Laura Mercier secret concealer and can’t wait to try it.
really good video, love how honest you were with these products!
Maybelline age rewind is actually really full coverage if you let it sit on your skin for 15-20 seconds to dry a little bit and then blend it out, it’s my fav😼🙌🏻
Saleha Tahir i use to be a big fan! But they have changed the formula recently! Its not like before, it doesnt blend nicely and looks caky! :( ive been using it for the past 5 years
ramella khodabakhsh omg nooooo really :( it still works pretty nicely for me, maybe try mixing it in with another concealer??
Brightener first, then neutralizer and then your actual concealer shade. It works much better. A lot of people have tried it that way and got much better results and I personally have, also.

Thank you very much for this video! I've been struggling, trying to find the right concealer for darkness, and this has been so helpful. I am curious as to why you apply your concealer much lower under your eyes than what seems to be typical, also, you don't take the concealer directly under your lower lashline, are there reasons for this? So glad YT put this in my recommendations, I'm looking forward to watching many more of your videos.
I'm so glad it helped! I do that because I have creases on my lower lash line and if I bring the concealer up too high it gets stuck in them and looks cakey. And I always blow out the eye shadow on my lower lash line anyway so once my makeup is finished it all comes together
Finally someone who is real! Just found you binged watched so many of you vids... love them, love how REAL your face and personality are. We need more makeup gurus like you ❤️❤️
Thank you so much love! 😩❤️
So happy you love the one from benefit because I’ve never seen another RUclipsr use it. And I totally love it too! ❤️
Because of you, I've learned how to use concealer to look 'awake' without having to put on a full face. Thank you!
Omg your the most relatable beauty guru
Finally!
I have had really bad extreme dark circles just like you literally my whole life
And I also siding like the age rewind cause it doesn't cover my fuckin dark circles
Honestly ❤️❤️❤️thank you for coming into my life 😭😫
And the L'Oréal Paris concealer is my favourite !!!!
The revlon is actually my favorite!!! Taylor Wynn taught me to like that one. The trick is to let it dry for like 30 seconds before blending, and then you get better coverage
i have to say thank you. i got the l'oreal infallible concealer, and it is indeed amazing. it is waterproof, so if you cry all over it, it gets a little weird, but it is emollient and the coverage is great, even on more mature skin. thank you!
I love these kinds of videos keep it up
6:27 "hydrating version of shart... SHART! I literally can't breathe"... I love it 🤣
I love your honesty and authenticity. I have dark circles too. Really dark and people tell me to wear makeup all the time. Really annoying. I have tried many concealers, even the ones that are expensive and none actually works that well. So I usually have to apply quite a lot of concealer+ pressed powder on top which ends up creasing and appearing cakey. So I can relate with all the problems you discussed. I love it that you talk a lot which makes me realise that I'm not alone with all these problems. I'm definitely going try some of the products you reviewed here. Sadly being in Thailand, there aren't many product brands available but I will try to get hold of some you mentioned here. Thanks so much for this VDO. I'm so glad you make it.
I have never seen anyone looks so beautiful with no makeup! Thanks for this video!
Loved this! I also have fair/light/med olive skin, with hereditary (very) dark circles. Now, you've inspired to test my entire collection of concealers! I have many... I'm definitely going to check out that Glossier Moisturizer, as I have dry skin and can never get enough moisture, especially under my eyes. Btw, my Go-To concealer is the Two Faced Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer. I've really been tempted to try the new Boi-ing Cakeless, but have been afraid that might be drying. I'm much older than you, and getting a bit crepey, so there's that. Anyway, thanks for this, Alex! 💖
Oooh me too. I have had some success with MAC mineralize concealer, but I have to really moisturize. Everything else seems to just dry me out regardless of how much. Now I want to check out that Glossier primer too because if that can help and I can help - yay!!!
I'm also light/med olive. What color do you use in the born this way concealer?
“Wow my brain just died”
