It’s truly just a complete series of button pushing in order to get through the descaling process you guys so don’t please please please don’t try to overwhelm yourself before researching and knowing step-by-step exactly every step you need to make because let me tell you again don’t overwhelm yourself because there’s not THAT much to need to know I promise you I put way too much more into it as well as the next person I made it way harder than it had to be the first time!!

We use it for about three people everyday in the morning. The taste and quick brew is one of the reasons we like it so much. There are so many choices of brands of coffee that we would grab what was on sale and test the different brands from there. I would definitely recommend trying different brands of coffee to find the ones you like the most because there are brands that quite frankly taste horrible.

I descaled according to directions 3 complete times. The descale light was still on. I was told to turn it off for x number of minutes and turn back on. It didn’t, go off. I gave up.
Finally it worked thanks to your instructions! I didn't know about setting the descale mode. That made all the difference and the light finally went off. Cheers!

This is the absolute best video on how to descale a K-Slim brewer! I have watched the video step by step everytime I do a descale and I never miss a step in the process. Instructions in the manual suck, instructions on the Keurig solution bottle are incomplete, but following along with Just A Dad makes it easy and fast. I just start and pause with each step. 5 Thumbs Up for Just A Dad!
Thank you so much. Who knew you had to put into "descale mode" I was ready to toss it and get a new one because the descale light would not turn off after 5 tanks of water. Shame on these companies for minimal instructions.

I have the K-Slim with iced coffee setting instead of a power button. And before anyone asks, it shuts itself off after a few seconds of no use. To get into the descale mode I had to hold the iced coffee button for a few seconds (between 3-5 seconds) to put into Descale mode. And then I followed your instructions. It worked perfectly! Thank you so much for the walk-through!! I will most likely be pulling this up in a few months to do it again! (I have a severe traumatic brain injury so short term is pretty much quite short!)

Thanks SO much for this video! I had it on my iPad in the kitchen while running the procedure. The instructions on the bottle recommended 12 water rinses but my light went out after 9 so I’m pretty confident that it’s good to go. Thank you for making a video calling out the K-Slim specifically. I hope I’m not the only one who gets annoyed by all the models they have. You make me feel less guilty about being a baby boomer who still likes clear instructions!

The water still didn't want to come out after cleaning the needles(which I learned how to do through another of your videos) so I googled and it said to reset the machine by holding the 'K' and 12oz until water dispersed. Once I did that I came back to this video and it's working beautifully! I appreciate your uploads!

Still not working for me. I tried the descale of this video repeatedly, starting from unplugged etc. Now I tried this reset (K plus 12 oz) and it did something so I thought I
was good to go. Started descale again and nothing. Mine will not brew if the descale is on, so I have a paperweight. The descale process worked last time I tried it, about 5 months ago. Nothing doing this time. Any other ideas?

Thank you so much, for this clear, concise video. While, my slim brewer is a different model, I was able to find the descaling procedure, for my model, on the Keurig site.
The first time I descaled, the flashing light never went out, because, I never entered into, descaling mode.
Now, my brewer is both clean, and not flashing, anymore.😊

I ran to the store to buy the cleaning solution,meanwhile my husband was trying to get this thing open because there was no water coming out at all. (This was the first time we descaled our machine, we use bottled spring water)

Truly-IT ISSSS A GREAT MAKER & VERY UNDERSTANDABLE! I think it was great for the price especially being that it is indeed a Keurig! That’s always great! And then the very first phone call I had to make for a customer service question about my D scaling the first time. I was literally so surprised at the decency in their customer service and how much time and effort they obviously put in to these customer service employees that they drill it in their heads to you know treat customers very well and a certain way…. the Keurig way….& I certainly respect that.
Plus!!!!-- it fits so amazingly in any spot so you cannot EVER use an excuse like…”it’s too BIG!” “THERES NOWHERE 2 PUT IT!!??” Uhm no.

Thank you for a very clear and consice video of descaling this wonderful machine. They really should make this part of the instructions for these machines. @@sistermargaretrobinson1596 Keurig has changed the way you descale your coffee maker. You have to put the machine in descale mode and follow it all the way through to get the descale light to go out.
step by step instructions see below. You have to follow them all the way through.
I hope this helps. put the descale solution in the tank. You have to put the machine in descale mode. First leave the machine plugged in, then turn the power button off. Press and hold the 8oz and 12oz button for 3 seconds till the big k brew button starts flashing. This puts it into descale mode. The only thing you will see is the big k button light on. the power button does not light up. press the k button and it will run 12 oz through the machine. keep pressing the k button till the add water light comes on. don't touch anything just put fresh water in the reservoir and the add water light will go out and the big k button will start flashing again. press the big k button to start the machine again this time it will be rinsing the machine at 12oz each time you press the button. keep pressing the k button till the add water light comes on again. Once you fill it up with water again it will come out of descale mode and now you are ready to use it again. turn it on and the descale light should be out. Let me know how it goes. YOU GOT THIS!!!!

Great instruction and we’ve used them twice. Just one note. In the voice over you said to press the 8 & 10 ounce buttons simultaneously, however in the video your fingers are on the 8 and 12 buttons and that work great.

THANK YOU SIR....By my understanding, you have a mini which requires only 5 ounces of descaling solution but I did exactly what you said and after watching 5 other videos with no sucess, your video canceled the descaling light, which made me smile.

Im glad I watched your video, My descale light came on by itself and only after about 2 months time, I figured it must be from my hard water. I ran the Keurig solution through as per instructions but the light still remained on so I ran vinegar through and ran fresh water through over 12 times but light still remained.
:( so after about 20 rinses I watched your video, unplugged my unit and let it sit unplugged while I did some other things, im kinda impatient so if I wasn't doing other things I'd plug it back in too quickly lol Anyway I plugged it back in and did nothing but held down the 8oz and 12oz until the descale came on. I thought well I guess I have to go through the motions now and I did (except it I didnt put a new bottle of solution in) and after the 2nd tank, like yours, the descale light turned off as if the cycle was finished. I lifted the handle and all was well so I brewed a cup fresh descaled coffee 😂 thanks for your help, maybe if those who have the descale still lit they can try this too as if their descaling their unit all over again as you describes it may work like it did for me yay, that was great cause I was ready to throw my less than 2 month old machine through the window lol *** I scheduled a task for descaling every 5 weeks for now on lol

And Keurig is really not “too bougie in the produce department of coffee makers folks! “ I CANNOT STRESS THAT ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!! You, TOO CAN BE Drinking the very best tasting coffee just like the next person with a Keurig, just know how to keep it clean because the machine is not just gonna clean it self and keep it self up for years and years and years to come without you doing simply anything progressive for the machine and it’s cleansing!!!!!

@@JustWinBaby_23 if you stay on top of it then there will not be much buildup on the inside. also if you have soft water you water might be pretty clean.

I like A Taste of San Antonio. You can only buy it at HEB stores or Ebay. It has hints of chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla. Bad thing is we don’t have HEB in my state and buying it online is not practical all the time so after looking for something similar I found the Cinnabon is pretty close.

Thanks for this vid. I googled how to descale, followed their instructions (they said 8oz & 10oz buttons), nothing happened. They didn't say to start with the machine off. I don't know if it's because of you saying how to start correctly or watching you push the 8oz & 12oz buttons (which I also did). What I do know is after 3 tries with others instructions, you have sucessfully walked me through the process & my pot is clean, working & not blinking! Thanks again! 😃

Thank you for this! I ran the whole process, my descale light went out after two full water reservoir worth. Did not count how many times is that. But since my reservoir is 46 oz and the descale pulls 12 oz of water, I can estimate it was about 8 times the rinse happened.
I definitely will do this religiously every 3 months.
