Cool. Mom used to deep fry Pilsbury biscuits, glaze them or ice with cake frosting, and try to pass them off as homemade doughnuts - good try mom, I know you meant well.

My mom did the same thing except roll them in powdered sugar and inject with jelly 😂🥹

Nice! One thing you might try, while cutting the donuts don't twist the cutter, like a biscuit it seals the edge and they don't rise as well, not sure if it will change anything but worth a try. I'll make these for sure, thanks for the recipe!
Oh and you said anyone can cook, I had a step daughter that is the only person I know that could burn water 🤔

oh i've got to try these! i've wanted to try equal parts self rising & plain greek yogurt (Fage) w/ pizza seasoning. just mix with fork till comes together then knead in bowl just a minute (no mess & no resting time) & spread on sprayed sheet or cast iron skillet & bake then add toppings. but i wanted to try on BS! it's a weight watcher's recipe i guess.
Ok CJ, now it's your turn to do the work smarter not harder version like my parents did for me and I did for my kids 15-20 years ago. Take Pillsbury biscuits and smash them flat. Push your finger through the center and swirl in a widening circle until you have a big enough hole. Kids won't care about donut holes if you let them eat a biga__ donut or two. Fry in oil til ready. Roll around in cinnamon sugar and/or powdered sugar. Done.😁

Yeast doughnuts take 5 minutes longer. You only have to let the yeast sit to the side mixed with the water and sugar before mixing the dough. It is still only a 20-minute proof as a doughball.

Hey, Nate! Just came across this video...great donut hack! Years ago, a local bakery made "Sour Cream Donuts", and they were delicious. Sadly, that bakery is no longer in business, and no one else around here has ever heard of them. Could sour cream be substituted for, or added to, the yogurt in this recipe?
