Easy Biscuit Donuts Recipe (Dessert on the Griddle)

- This easy biscuit donut recipe is made with Pilsbury Grands canned biscuits that have been quartered and rolled into balls to form donut holes. Kid-approved and an awesome breakfast or dessert recipe for the Camp Chef or Blackstone griddle.
Watch how I cook the biscuit dough balls on the flat top grill with butter, tossing them back and forth until the biscuit donuts are cooked all the way through. Then, add the cooked donut holes to a large bowl and toss with 1-2 tablespoons of butter. The butter will melt from the heat of the donuts and coat them lightly to form a sort of “glue”. Then, sprinkle some powdered sugar into the bowl and toss the donuts to coat. Transfer to a plate.
With the powedered sugar that’s left in the bowl, you can create a simple glaze for some glazed biscuit doughnuts. Just add a bit of butter and some heated heavy cream to the powdered sugar and stir well until smooth. Then, add the biscuit donuts to the bowl with the glaze and toss to combine… and you’ve got glazed biscuit donut holes.
To make jelly filled donut holes, simply fill a piping bag with your choice of jelly (I used seedless raspberry), or watch how I make my own piping bag out of parchment paper. Then, insert your piping tip into the center of a biscuit donut hole and squeeze a bit of jelly in the center. If you want, you can also dip the jelly-filled donuts into the glaze or dip into chocolate.
For the fourth variety of donuts, I made a chocolate peanut butter dipping sauce, similar to the Original Chocolate Fondue at the Melting Pot. Just add some semi sweet chocolate chips to a heat-proof bowl, and mix in heated heavy cream - You can heat the heavy cream in a small sauce pan on your griddle until it just starts to boil, then pour over the chocolate chips. The heat from the cream will melt the chocolate chips. Then, add in a tablespoon or so of Nutella and peanut butter and stir well to combine.
Hope you and your family enjoy these easy biscuit donuts as much as mine did! And don’t be afraid to get creative with your own donut holes… you can toss them in a mix of cinnamon sugar, add some lemon or orange zest to the glaze before dipping, or fill them with canned frosting instead of jelly… the possibilities are endless!

Thanks for the piping bag trick
No problem.
Just made this for dessert. Kids went crazy. Wife loved it. I think of all the days wasted I could’ve been cooking stuff like this on my flat top before I discovered your channel. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Paul. Sometimes a good comment can change the day.
Biscuit donuts brings me back. We deep fried them but my mom did that with canned biscuits a few times when we were kids. One of the few things she made that tasted good. Never got that creative with the flavors though, it was always just powdered.
thats alot of cooking....that memory feeling...i also did another video and did garlic bread addition
You ain’t playing around! Omg they look so good!
Nice finish with the Darlin' Daughters (aka, Flat Top Princesses).
Biscuit donuttss. Where have you been all life. Great vid
The first 2 were great…the PB, jelly, Nutella and chocolate…..Insane! You weren’t kidding when you said wait for the next video!! Dang Neal! Amazing what you can do on a flat top! Cheers!
Thanks Jay! Is it to soon for me to be excited about what I am filming next. My evil laugh
@@TheFlatTopKing I can only imagine!

Awesome.

looks yum..
Just found this too, in my afternoon griddle surfing, just a great idea to use the biscuits, and the grandkids get to do the various toppings, but I assure a cinnamon sugar combo is going to be the winner, filling them, genius, they will love this. What a great holiday treat to make with the grandkids.
Great idea Craig....maybe a pumpkin style icing or egg nog depending on the month
@@TheFlatTopKingI use a medium size plastic syringe from Amazon to inject the jelly or custard pudding. Works great in the mini donuts we make but this is even easier.
We said ‘Woooo’ at the same time when he made chocolate covered jelly donut. Genius 🎉
hahaah great mind think alike...I did the same thing on another video about garlic bread doughnuts,,,
Your youngest daughter is a carbon exact copy of her Mom! They are both beautiful young ladies and so is your oldest daughter.
Hey thanks Janet...
Oh my goodness I would eat myself into a sugar overdose lol another awesome video as usual.
Once I try all of your different desserts, which look great, I'll lose my Navy physique...lol. Thanks and will try.
Ah ha! You DID Go to culinary school. I didn’t think all your expertise came out of the US Navy haha. So, I tried the garlic knots and I’ll probably try these also, but my question is what was the griddle temperature when you started? Can you please mention temp when shoot your videos? Hard to tell the way the butter sizzles. Sometimes I use clarified butter that I made, sometimes duck fat sometimes no butter. Sometimes spray avocado oil or spray olive. They all seem to react differently when the substance hits the grill. Thanks bro!
Yeah I will keep in mind. Thanks
hey guy, my name is chris, love your videos, but got a ?, do you live in the karns area, ?
I do.
