We spray our irons after heating them up and put bread slice on one side , spread pizza sauce and toppings of choice, put another slice of bread on top then close snap tight and put off to side of fire so inside cooks …kept checking for how dark you want your bread…yummy You can take biscuits from the tube spread on one side fill with pie filling then place another flattened biscuit on top sealing around edges….toast…..sprinkle with powdered sugar or cinnamon and sugar….. You can also make grilled cheese with pie irons……sometimes we put sausage or bits of ham to make a heartier meal…. Make sure you clean and care for your irons as you would a cast iron pan. 🤓enjoy
Good day to you. I am a senior rider on HONDA Cross Cub from Japan. Enjoying touring ,camping and video uploading. This is so nice adventure video! Awesome!! Thank you so much for sharing!! Have a nice day my friend!!
Hey Amanda! Mom of 4 from Ontario, my 4 year old and I enjoy your videos. We are avid car campers. Your camping trips look very peaceful and relaxing, our trips are quite a bit different but a morning coffee outside is where it's at!! Thank you
Yummy ideas..we take homemade waffles from home, pre-scrambled eggs with cheese and whatever veggies we put in it…..I store in separate containers so waffles do not get soggy….then combine the waffle and egg as a Sammie and put in parchment and wrap with foil….cook as you did ….makes a fast breakfast….. the clean foil I save and reuse….the other sheets I crunch up and use as pan scrubbers…..or wrap around my veggie plant stems to keep borers out.
I live in an RV and we ran out of propane (you don’t really think about it too much when it’s not wintertime!) until payday (like 2-3 days) and this channel has been a lifesaver! It took me a minute, I admit, but I though “OMG! I have a fire pit! DUH!!!”. I know, I know, I’m new to this since we just moved into our RV after living on a boat for 3 years. I’m actually really glad that we ran out of propane since it gave me the well-needed nudge to get outside and get creative! Now, I just need something sweet!
I've taken a small bottle of pumpkin pie spice on camping trips, rather than carrying several spices. I like making oatmeal with dried fruit, spices, and brown sugar (or honey). I bet that would work nicely for your apple crisp foil packet. Or, if your local stores have it, an apple pie spice might be even better for an apple crisp recipe.
On group camping trips, we've had an assortment of fillings for banana boats, so everyone can fill their banana boats as desired. The banana cooks to a nice pudding consistency, and is a nice way to end the day. And with foil packet desserts, you don't have a lot to clean up before you go to bed.
love your videos.just found you and following now. .....I've used brown sugar oatmeal packets in a pinch for apple crumbles. ...thanks for your great tips and vids
I'm very glad l got this showed up out of nowhere...... I dont like baking..... and this is so awesome...... I am going to try to prepare some of those desserts as soon as l can...... I mean today...... thanks for sharing
In the summer, my husband and I try to go camping with our nieces and nephews (and a parent from each family - LOL). I am seriously eyeing some of these desserts for our next canoe-in trip. Thanks!
I make foil packets at home all the time. Freeze. Throw in a cooler for camp. Or even just to bake n eat at home. We have done this instead of purchasing frozen meals. Saves $
I tried the berry fruit crisp (my version of the apple one: raspberry, blueberry and strawberry) and it was completely delicious!! 😎😊 I was even able to cook it under the rain. It tasted even better. 😋 Thanks for the idea!
If you assemble them in the morning at home and then cook them that night at camp, I think that would work, but I haven't tried it. If you do, let me know how it goes!
This is the first time I've ever seen anybody use parchment paper on foil packs. You use a hell of a lot of foil girl, I'm a Girl Scout and we use one sheet. 😊 ❤
We've made banana boats and a similar recipe to the pound cake (we used those little cake cups.) Have to see about apple crumble. And what a pretty forest! Where are you camping?
I always peel my apples when making a crumble, I find the skin can be a little tough. My fav is peach & strawberry. Camping has gotten so much more interesting, so many delicious things you can make with a little imagination & some foil & parchment paper. .
We try not to create a lot of waste so we just use 1 piece of heavy duty aluminum foil and haven’t had issues with punctures. *Maybe* we’ll use 2 if it’s stuffed a bit too full but the we usually re-use the outer layer.
Oooohh, these look so good! This beats my usual... OREOS! Especially all the new flavors they're doing, but my favorite is probably lemon. Yes, lemon Oreos. **drool**
@@amanda.outside oh wow, that's a really good idea! Yummy! Oh, about the new Oreos flavors - they have coffe-flavored ones too! (I know you love coffee. So do I)
It is a lot easier, quicker and neater if you put all the food on half the tinfoil then pull the other half over the top so the two halves meet one one side. You then roll the edges as you would if it were on top. To open you simply slit the packet down the middle and you have a easy neat serving bowl.
I'm late but what does everyone do with the juice out of canned beans or tuna etc? I live in Canada so we're talking bears, raccoons, fishers, coyotes that I don't want to attract. I don't bring some foods as I never know what to do with the juice. Cans I burn. Thanks - good weather to you!
I’m trying to watch my sugar and carbs, but I can totally do a modified apple crumble (nuts instead of oats, nut flour, less butter and maybe some water to make sure the apples soften, and a stevia-type brown sugar).
@@ericshelton7143 I can’t indulge on sugar/carbs for health reasons. The apple is more than enough while keeping my blood sugars where they need to be.
Trip and awkward combination of night or morning, or this is something in the Sous mountains. Breakfast with local eggs, ok, barkan, or free honey ruclips.net/video/dScidYTLN0w/видео.html
Let's talk DESSERT!! 🤗 🔥 Which one are you going to make first? Comment below 👇
I’m wanting to do the banana boat with my family! 😋
Thanks Amanda!
The berry dessert sounds so good….next camping trip for sure
These look great!!! I love you camping recipes. I got a pie iron because of you. Could you do a video on what you make in a pie iron?
I’m so glad you love the recipes! I am working on new pie iron recipes! 🤗

I never thought about camping desserts before so this was great. foil packets are some of my favorites, super easy but still tasty
They are some of my favorites too!
OH YUM! 😛 Love the idea of the apple crisp. I'll have to try that one. 👍😍⛺
Yummy berry pound cake 🎂😋 I will definitely will be trying this one next time out camping thanks for sharing keep the cameras rolling from Florida.
You're welcome! I hope you love the berry pound cake. It's definitely one of my favorites!
I made the apple crisp and berry pound cake for a summer backyard cookout and topped with ice cream!
Love your channel. I’ve like literally watched like 10-12 of your videos back to back 😅 keep it up loving it.
Awesome ideas!!!! Can’t wait to try them all. Thank you Amanda 💛
You are so welcome! I hope you enjoy them!

I love these ideas. I’m going to make the banana boats over the fire in rural Africa and share with my hosts and friends. They’ll love them!
I have to look up a pound cake recipe that works with my allergies! Sounds so good with the berries!
It is so good! Especially in the summer when berries are in season. I hope you enjoy it!

I want to go camping just to try these! Thanks!
We’re going camping in two weeks in the Blue Ridge. I think the apple and the banana ones are going to be big hits!
Yay!! That sounds like an awesome trip. I hope you love these desserts!

Hi amanda, I like all your recipes. You always have good ideas. Happy trails. Cactch on the other side.
I make the berry pound cake one, but instead of brown sugar, I throw in a couple chocolate covered caramels. Yum!
That sounds amazing!! I love caramel!
This vid made me subscribe! I love foil packs and dessert!
These all look amazing! I am definitely going to try one next time I head out camping....the pound cake with berries sounds delicious 😍
Great ideas! Very delicious.
Glad you like them!
Love all your videos. Must try the apple crisp.
I am looking forward to trying all of these over the summer! Thank you for sharing! Did I miss the link to the recipes?

Then I just cook them on the fire while camping.

I love these ideas! Also, Olive & June nails?
I have gel nails right now, but I've seen the ads for Olive and June and I want to give it a try! I love the colors they have.
yummy stuff, do you do dutch oven dump cakes ???
Yes I do! They are another easy camping dessert!
Mosquitoes love when humans eat bananas. I learned that the hard way. Keep the banana dessert for indoors. Happy camping my friends.
We've made banana boats and a similar recipe to the pound cake (we used those little cake cups.) Have to see about apple crumble.

I filmed this in MT in the Beartooth mountains. It’s so beautiful here!

No to the Banana one.

Such a waste.
Cool
I've seen you use that knife in several videos and haven't found a link for it. What brand is your chef knife?
Could you use a tortilla for the apple crisp? 😍
Oooohh, these look so good! This beats my usual... OREOS! Especially all the new flavors they're doing, but my favorite is probably lemon. Yes, lemon Oreos. **drool**
I've never had lemon oreos! If you like lemon, try using lemon pound cake in the berry version for a fun twist!
@@amanda.outside oh wow, that's a really good idea! Yummy!
Oh, about the new Oreos flavors - they have coffe-flavored ones too! (I know you love coffee. So do I)
Look at you! Makes my mouth water 🔥
They are SO good!
hey girl, you could also just close and squish the bag so you don't get batter all over your fingers... I've done this with ziplocs at camp🙂
What if campsite has only gas grills??? Will this lend itself to same outcomes?

You can "squish" the butter in the crumble without sticking your hand in the bag as well. Just "squish" the bag.
Hi Amanda! Do you have a link for your shoes?
They are the Oboz Sypes hiking boot! They're really comfortable!
3:38 heavy doo-doo
I'm such a child.
Lmao

Me too. But I always indulge while on a vacation. You gotta enjoy yourself every once in a while.
I think it's important to indulge without sabotaging yourself.
@@ericshelton7143 I can’t indulge on sugar/carbs for health reasons. The apple is more than enough while keeping my blood sugars where they need to be.
Such a waste. Easier to just eat an apple. Sick sick people.
That apple crisp needs some custard 😁
We take the Banana, put chocolate in, put it in the embers. No foil needed. And no marshmallows!
❤👍🙏
