New camping meal ideas are here! 🤗 These are always some of my favorite videos to make. I hope you enjoyed this one! Make sure to check the description box to grab the recipes. Thanks for watching!
Last time I went camping I baked sweet potatoes in foil in the hot coals of the fire, and when they were done, roasted marshmallows and put on the potato; campfire sweet potato marshmallow casserole!
I use my yeti as a chair and use the tailgate as a table. Having a well made cooler comes in handle for a lot of things. I use it for a step sometimes too.
Amanda .... Nick is SOOO lucky to have You! You seem like such a nice woman .... I wish I was friends with both of you. Please keep up your great channel. I always get lots of ideas and learn a lot about camp cooking. Thank you, Tom
... love this style of outing ,, activities of interest,, kicking back as the mind and body demands ,, having a little fun with the meals.... I don't think many people realize the awesome outings car camping can set up ... Thanks for sharing and for a new recipe .... ..... Stay Safe and God Bless .....
I’m starting to try camping with my husband and 3 years old son,I’m so excited.watching your videos are great and helpful for getting tips.I’m watching all the way from Brooklyn New York
Hi.. camping so much fun. I'm 69 years old gramma and planning on a week camping trip solo on an island in the Adirondacks the first week of August. But I'm curious how do you keep your cast iron clean while you're on the go.?
Great meal ideas! Tacos my best. Fajitas also. So quick,so delicious. I do alot of primitive camping g. I try Togo minimalist. But if camping near vehicle. These are great ideas.
Breakfast cereals are very lightweight, and if you mix in some whey protein with powdered milk and maybe some creatine and/or cocoa powder, you have some very lightweight and nutritions food that dont need refridgeration. Vitamins and minerals are also ideal to bring on trips where it can get difficult to eat healthy. Vitamin D is also very good against Covid, and everyone should be taking this during the winters when we dont get our vitamin D from the Sun.
People don't realized that you can eat quite good even when you're camping. For us, sometime it's the meal that we're looking forward to that help us endure an crazy hike that day. haha
Love your style (cloth on the picnic table).. We use rea plates and have hand forged cutlery from Germany. Glassware is a must. All the comforts of home are amplified in the outdoors. Thank you for your efforts. They will be put to good use.
wow you made perfect brownies in a dutch oven, camping haha! i can't do that in my kitchen with all the resources. inspiration for our next camping trip this month. thank you
Hi Amanda, love your videos! I'm binging them to prep for my first big trip. I'd love to learn more about your actual cook top set up. (Do you cook on the camp fire? The stove? What are the pros/cons? ) Is there a video that I can watch? Thanks! :)
Hey, love the video (as always). Where did you get that fire pit grill? I've been looking for one and can't seem to find something light and sturdy like yours. Thanks!
Awesome! I also always try to prep our meals at home before camping. Definitely getting some of those reusable bags. We got a foldable set of corn hold of amazon you should check it out! A little closer to full size corn hole. Lol
Love love love love all your videos! It's just what I needed. We're going camping in a few days and this will be my 2nd time ever!!! I try and eat healthy and I was totally concerned about the food more than the tent and sleeping bags! LOL! You were a God sent! My camping angel! Take care and keep up the great work!
Could you discuss and/or review your car camping vs backpacking tent for solo and 2 people? You are using tents that I’ve been eyeing up for a while and would live your insight. Thanks!
I always love your videos and recipes! 😍 I was just curious if you had a rhyme or reason to what fruits/veggies you keep fresh vs cutting at camp? For example I noticed you pre-cut the strawberries but not the cucumber/etc. for the pitas.
hi amanda. love your videos.. i have a question.. i noticed on this video you conect a twenty pound tank to the coleman stove. i did the same last year and i noticed a big loss in pressure.. i am using a coleman stove with a coleman hose to connect. did you have this problem. i was going through two or three one pound tanks and figured for thesame money i can use a twenty and have leftover fuel...what is you experience
Is this the tent you carry on back packing trips too??🤔 any idea if these tents go on sale ever? Thanks for your informative light hearted inspiring and beautiful content. I plan on making those energy balls. 😘💖
I usually use the Nemo Hornet when I go backpacking because it's a little smaller and lighter. I got my tents at an REI garage sale a few years ago for a big discount! I think they have those sale once or twice a year. I hope you like the energy ball recipe!
Hi Amanda, I saw your vlog: 3 DAY BACKPACKING TRIP VLOG (22 miles, 2 nights, LOTS of uphill). I noticed you switched from Nemo Hornet to Big Agnes. I would like to know what made you switch brands. I am searching for the best tent for me. I am particularly inclined to nemo dagger.
I like how you try to keep everything as fresh as you can. Inspiration for the rest of us. Some ice cream made with one of those YayLab ice cream maker balls would go great with those brownies. Q1: Have you considered getting the Coleman camp stove oven. I have one and have used it with my family a few times. It works surprisingly well. Not quite as fun as a Dutch Oven, but could be convenient if you're ever in an area with a strict fire ban. Might take a half bottle of fuel though depending on what you're baking. Q2: What is your mic setup? Are you hiding away a lavalier or using a little shotgun attached to your camera?
I haven't tried the camp stove oven. I really love using the dutch oven 😊 I am using a shotgun mic attached to my camera. I linked the exact one in the description! There are also some GoPro clips in this video, and for those clips I'm just using the built in mic which I think is really good on the GoPro.
Thanks for your videos. Love watching them. These are some great meal ideas. Can't wait to try the energy balls!! I have a question if you don't mind. Could you tell me what kind of tent you have? I'm looking for a new one. Thank you.
I have the Big Agnes copper spur for car camping. I really like it, but it’s a few years old so I don’t think they make this exact one anymore, but they have a newer version I think!
This is not intended as hate what so ever. I feel like you are holding back on awesome creative videos. I know you have a RUclips algorithm to work with, but I wish you made something different. I love your videos and resonate with you as a person on RUclips. People will still watch if you ever feel like doing something different.
What do you do with the dirty stasher bags, trash, and other things when you are done with them but still camping? Do they attract animals to your campsite or car?
WAIT, you call this place a desert!? If this is desert, then Egypt is in Mars😅 Love your videos ✨😊 I hope you would visit Saint Catherine for a camping trip during the autumn, I am sure you will love the place 🏞️🌌
Your vids are very well done and include many sensible suggestions, but we part company on your love of meat and animal fats, nevertheless I have gotten lots of good meal ideas from you.
ı thought coolers work with elecricity from the car, enlighten me here, ı need to put ice it will stay for 2 days then ı charge it and freeze them again? or are they totally two different things?
I've been wanting to get those silicone bags, but thought they would be too hard to clean. You actually put raw chicken in them! So is it hard to get into the crannies along the edges, to get them really clean? How do you do it?
I think they're really easy to clean! I usually just use soap and a sponge to clean them, but they're also dishwasher safe, so if I'm using them for raw meat, I usually put them in the dishwasher. At camp, if I store raw meat in a Stasher bag, I don't reuse that bag until I give it a good wash at home, just to be safe.
I typically research hikes ahead of time. I also like to explore and find new places to hike on the public lands. I use the Gaia GPS app satellite overlays and the land use overlays to research and plan where I want to go. I also use Google maps satellite views to plan and prepare. I do a lot of planning at home before I even hit the trails!
It’s tzatziki!! (tsah-tsee-key) It was like when Dixie pronounces ramen noodles as raymon noodles. I love you both and all but it hurts sometimes how americans butcher other languages also I’m not sure that your youghurt dip consitutes as a tzatziki if it doesn’t have cucumbers in it
I don't care how warm it is, I'm NOT hiking in sandals...I hate walking in sand in my thongs/sandals because of the grit that gets in, but more importantly, you need to wear hiking shoes with support around your ankles in case you step wrong...have done that a few times and my boots saved me from injuries...

Simplicity: using the Yeti cooler as an eating platform. love it!
It functions great as a table and a cooler! haha
I use my yeti as a chair and use the tailgate as a table. Having a well made cooler comes in handle for a lot of things. I use it for a step sometimes too.

Hello Amanda, very nice camp meals. Take Care and Keep Exploring The Outdoors.
I love the brownies.
Thanks again for another fun video.

I love watching you. New subscriber… thanks 😊
your food at camp is better than my food at home!😹😹😹
Heck YES .... I make-freeze most of my meals at home and I don't need ice in my cooler, LOTS of frozen water bottles and 'cheapo' flavor packets too)
Yaaay always love when your videos pop up! You always inspire me to plan camping trips!
I'm so glad! Thank you for watching 😁

That country sure looks familiar. Where are you, somewhere in the intermountain west?
I like how you try to keep everything as fresh as you can. Inspiration for the rest of us. Some ice cream made with one of those YayLab ice cream maker balls would go great with those brownies.

Hello Amanda! You look very comfy and warm in your sleeping bag. What kind is it?
It is a western mountaineering sleeping bag and I love it. They’re super expensive, but they are the best quality.
Thanks for your videos. Love watching them. These are some great meal ideas. Can't wait to try the energy balls!! I have a question if you don't mind. Could you tell me what kind of tent you have? I'm looking for a new one. Thank you.

Where do you buy your camping gear?
what is in the cooler that keeps everything cold? We are always battling the ice situation. Especially in Utah desert.
What kind of sandals do you hike in?
Bedrock sandals and I LOVE them!!
What state is this? It looks like Arizona!
that's a really big caterpillar you've got there in your tent~ lol

Hi!! :) Where did you get the mini cornhole?
I found it on Amazon by the brand "Outside Inside"
warmer weather?? Ma'am there is snow on the ground :)
Man, I'm hungry.
Enjoying the warmer weather in the dessert? *wakes up in a sub zero sleeping bag* 🤣
Why do you use a cast iron pan compared to a nonstick pan?
How do the energy balls not get squished and melty in your pack?
How do you make your sourdough bread
Where were you guys? I must have missed it.
Snow Canyon State Park in Utah! Such a beautiful place!
It’s tzatziki!! (tsah-tsee-key)

You should try the US Navy..... Went all over the world and seen crazzy shit

You should NEVER allow anyone film you from the back.
